This place is a joke. I came here after moving to Georgia and needing medical care. Dr. Shah dismissed my symptoms, did not listen to me or answer my questions, insinuated I was a drug addict, and then when I struggled to remember a date, crossed her arms and said Are you lying to me? So insulting.

Excellent Doctors, specially PA Purvi. She has treated all our family for more than 3 years; she’s simply The Best. She always knows what’s wrong with her patients and prescribed the right medications, but the most important thing, she always follows up to make sure you’re healing, she personally calls you and asks how’s everything, if she had referred you to an specialist, she wants to know how was your visit with that specialist. I don’t know any other doctor that is so interested in your recovery to that level of care and attention. She exceeds any patient expectations, We totally recommend Buford Medical Clinic in Sugar Hill, GA.Thankfully, Castillo-Velasquez Family.

Doctor Lorie is good and I would like to follow her to another practice. However, the office staff is very rude and either unable or unwilling to simply email documents in a timely fashion. And try to collect money I do not owe.One of the female doctor (Shea I think it was)Didnt try to find out why my bp was up an instanly wanted to put me on pills the rest of my life.... Didnt need them and BP has been fine since.... The last time I was there I waited 40+ minutes past my appointment time (in a room) with hardly any communication from the staff. One girl did come in to get something and would only say well their coming almost another 20 minutes and I was opening the room door to leave when the doctor was reaching for the handle. I understand times are strange and the doctor wants to take time and answer any questions patients have. But communication is key. Dont leave people hanging. If your behind, say something!I had to leave work early today just to pick up something that could have easily been emailed (they said they did but it never showed up and they refused to send it again while I waited on the line to make sure I got it)On the way I decided I would just get all my records and find a different doctor. They refused to give it to me and have to decide on how much they are going to charge me for it. After I have spent probably several thousand dollars there??????After todays fiasco I am waiting for a return call from Dr. Patel.Im not holding my breath for a phone call and am looking for a new doctor in the Buford/ Sugar Hill area..************************To my surprise I did get a return call.Dr. Patel apologized for the rude behavior and said he would look into it.However he was unwilling to expedite my records and said it would be at least a week. But if I found a new doctor to have them call and they could send them right over.So... They will respond to another doctor but not for you. Is pretty much what they are saying. So it will take a week to get to me with a fee. But they can get it to another doctor electronically for free and quickly. Also I was told that 40-45 min. Is normal to have you wait past your appointment time before you are seen by doctor in this facility. So dont expect to be on time for anything else you had planned for the day.

I trust my primary care physician. I have seen both Dr. Patel and Dr. Shah but Dr. Patel is my primary provider. They both possess the most important trait in a primary care provider: competence. I ask a lot of questions and read obsessively about anything that I do (from buying something to learning about a new health issue). I can tell that Dr. Patel is diligent in his continuing education and has the kind of depth of knowledge that I expect from a Doctor. Ive been going to Buford Medical Clinic for years and I leave every visit confident in the care I am receiving. The whole office is nice and professional which is also a plus.

Have been a patient of Dr. Patels for 3 years. He listens to what I say and uses that information in diagnosis and treatment. He has never been unprofessional to us. He does not try to sell us on medication, but when I have asked for a prescription, he considers my situation and whether it will be helpful. He has always shown concern and compassion towards my family. He usually asks me how my husband is doing at the end of my appointment. I subtracted one star because on a few occasions I have had to wait more than 15 minutes after my appointed time before being seen.

This place is the worst. The staff is always so rude.My mother had an appointment for 4 PM and it was almost 5 PM with no sign of the doctor. I decided to check in with the receptionist and ask her. In the meantime, a rude staff just walked out of nowhere and had the audacity to yell at me. She claims that the doctor was with another patient and some patients wait 2 hours even with an appointment. And gave me the ultimatum to either reschedule or wait. There is a way to speak, but she CROSSED that line. Firstly, I wasn’t even speaking to her. Absolutely insane, will convince my parents to never come here again. In the past the other doctor, Dr Shah I believe, had misdiagnosed me and told me I had a seizure and to rush to the hospital. It was actually due to the strong shot she had given me when I had not eaten anything. I explicitly stated that before but the nurse still gave me the steroid shot. After I went to the hospital, the doctors were surprised that I had a “seizure” but was perfectly fine and could remember everything (my sister was there btw as a witness so I couldn’t possible make it up). Later when I called the doctor to tell her that it wasn’t a seizure, she claimed she never said I had a seizure....... just let that sink in.On a side note, these doctors love prescribing steroids. Every single time I have been here, no matter what the case is, you get a steroid shot. I knew before coming here the doctor would prescribe a steroid shot but my mother still wanted to come here because we had been with this doctor for years. You better believe it that we will be looking elsewhere now. Please provide any reccommendations for other good doctors office!

More than once I have left the office feeling like I did something wrong by going to a primary care physician. The woman at the front desk is always pleasant, Pat. The nurses are typically well mannered. The physicians are condescending and demeaning to patients, It’s as if they have something to gain or some badge to flash, I work for an inner city hospital and have witnessed junkies receive better care and bedside manor than they are dishing out at Buford Medical Clinic. We are your customers, not just “lesser people” that “bother” you when they come into your business.

This clinic only cares about making money. My family and I have been patients here for over 10 years and have experienced them getting worse and worse. Appointments are NEVER on time. They try to fit in as many patients in a day as possible so they are always running late. You end up waiting about 40-60 minutes in the waiting room (AFTER your appointment time) and then about 30 minutes in the clinic room for the doctor to finally see you.The front desk staff is also unprofessional. When training a new employee to make a call to my insurance company, they were loudly speaking about the reasons I was there to visit the doctor. Everyone in the waiting room could hear my personal information and private reasons for being there. It was so embarrassing. Not only is the staff unprofessional, they are also very rude. One of the women who has been there for years is incredibly rude and condescending when speaking to you. She behaves as though the patients are a nuisance if they ask questions. As someone who has had a relationship with this clinic for a decade, I encourage everyone to find a another clinic. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Dr. Namrata Shah (Not the great and wonderful Purvy) has got to be the nastiest woman on the face of the earth. I don’t know how she sleeps at night!! In 40 years I have never asked for pain medication at any doctors office. The only time I came and finally needed some assistance with excruciating pain she straight to my face told me she was not giving me any drugs. I had immediate surgery on my neck within two weeks because she could’ve at least sent me to get the correct test to see I had a disc pressing on a nerve and my spinal cord. I come in 2 years later to ask for my refill of sleeping medicine that I get twice a year (60 pills 😂) and here we go again same as last time treating me like a drug addict. As I told her I would put a bad review she reminded me that she also was able to write things behind my drug records that the pharmacy can see. I cannot believe the nerve that she has to belittle people and talk down to people and make them feel like drug addicts. Dr Patel better smarten up quick before he loses many other 10 year customers. Oh and by the way I definitely recommend Buford medical, Dr Patel, and nasty Dr. Namatra Shah also go and look at the reviews on other spots I wish I had !

I would like to share my bad experience after visitation at doctor Dipak Patel. During the medical examination the doctor are very unprofessional to us. That man prescribed medication which is very expensive and can not be found in the pharmacies. He told me that my child is suffering from some strange disease which no longer exists in America and can not provide medical test. How do you think I felt? The next day realized that I can buy a medicine for only $8 without prescription in any pharmacy!!!I bought the drug and went to visit the doctor! But for my surprise he didnt want to talk with me. I asked them to give my money back but instead of this they told me to leave the office! Is that a normal relation between a doctor and a patient? I dont think so!

Always a bad experience, except for nurse. Doctors dont answer questions about side effects like asking the question is an insult to their skills. I have been patient for almost three years and have never had more problems with getting refills at any other place in my life than this one. Dr shaw is disrespectful at best; I come in specifically to get refills. Two weeks later she says I need to make an appointment to get a refill. I call. Front office, with usual lack of pleasantries, says it is a paper script, meaning, I know from past misadventures, that I need to pick it up; it cant be called in. Okay. One hour before they close and still no call about refill script being ready to pick up. I go to the office. It is not going to be looked at until all the other patients have been seen and there are four so make appointment for Tuesday. No I was just here specifically for refills two weeks ago. Then, oh, out of script paper so she will call it in. But only for three days, so you need to make an appointment with her on Tuesday. This was just one day and my last. Avoid at all costs. No doctor is better than going to that dump. If I could give zero or negative stars, say piles of poop, they would get ten.

One positive note is the nurses are friendly.Ridiculous wait times. On one occasion I sat in the waiting room for an hour before I decided to just go home. No one behind the front desk could be bothered to let me know that they wouldnt be able to keep my appointment even though they clearly knew it. Not once was I seen at my actual appointment time on any other visit.Ive been using the same prescription for at least 10 years, but they want me to come in more than once a year just to get a refill. Clearly, theyre just out to charge my insurance. Its asthma...it didnt magically go away.

Have had dr. Patel as my primary care provider since I was in pullups and I turn 22 this year. Great doctor. Only reason 4 stars, is due to some of the office staff. Scripts periodically get sent to the wrong pharamcy and I call and get put on hold for 15-20 mins while they try to find what script I was prescribed and try resending it, even though I was there not an hour ago each time. If there is ever anything serious that comes up on your routine checks, patel always called me on his cell phone and spoke with me. He always ask how my family is doing at each appointment and is very attentive and understanding. Pat and Letty at the front are phenomenal. It was the other office staff person that I constantly had an issue with.

Yesterday, I contacted your office about 9:40 am and left a message saying I needed the additional prescription and could it be phoned in to the pharmacy. I didnt get a call back so I called again around 3:15 and was informed that they didnt know what prescription I was talking about. I dont know if thats because they didnt look at my records or needed to speak to the doctor who wrote the prescription last Saturday. I was then told this prescription couldnt be phoned in and I would have to pick it up. I asked how late the office was open and was told that you closed at 6. I said I got off work at 5 and would get over there to pick it up. I work in Snellville and left exactly at 5pm, snatched my daughter up from Daycare and drove toward Buford. Im sure you are familiar with traffic on Highway 20, so when it appeared I may be a little late I called your office and spoke to Pat telling her I was on my way and may be 5 minutes late. She informed me that they closed at six and were ready to leave and if I wasnt there by 6 I would have to come back the next day. I explained again that I was close and had been trying very hard to get there by six but may need her to wait for a few minutes. She again told me no. I pulled into your office parking lot two minutes before 6 pm to find the office closed up and locked (5:58 is the time that showed on my car clock and phone). I thought someone would probably still be there and literally banged on the door to no avail. Needless to say I was extremely upset as I had done everything I possibly could to get there by 6pm and had maintained contact with Pat who was totally unwilling to bend. This morning I called your office and again spoke to Pat. She informed me that she clocks in and out according to the clock in the office and she didnt go by my clock and it was 6:00 when she left. She then said there was a nurse practitioner there until 6:30 (she didn’t hear the banging on the office door?)! I was still extremely agitated during this call and Pat kept putting me on hold for various lengths of time returning with a phony sweet, sarcastic tone. This was the most frustrating and upsetting experience I have had with a doctors office. Isnt a medical office supposed to be compassionate, caring and considerate? Was there a reason Pat couldnt have told the Nurse Practitioner that I was trying very hard to get there and have her simply hand me that slip of paper??!! No, instead she seemed to be quite happy to put me in a frustrating and difficult position because her day ends at 6pm. She seemed to absolutely delight in putting me on hold, speaking dismissively to me when she picked up saying that there was no one I could speak to because she was the only one in the office. She did tell me she would have a manager return my call when he came in at 3pm. A manager who works only from 3pm to 6pm??As I said I was referred to you by mother and so was my sister. In talking to my sister she said she was basically treated the same way by Pat when she was in your office; abrupt and rude. My mother was shocked and upset and said that she has referred quite a few people to your office and although you are a wonderful doctor, will not be making any more referrals nor returning to your practice. Needless to say, neither will I. My mother and I work for companies that are very customer service oriented. We have both, on more than one occasion been asked to stay (for up to an hour) to accommodate a customers needs. This in the name of customer service, professionalism and just plain common courtesy, not to mention the fact that we take pride in the business we represent, the owners and brands we work for. I have to say I hope Pat and this experience is not a true representation of you and your Associates at Buford Medical Center.
