I went to three three-hour visits of only checking my teeth and asking me questions. On the third visit, I felt physically uncomfortable when they checked my gums. I asked to stop. The supervisor told me they had to continue. Checking gums did not have anything to do with the work I needed to be done. The supervisor also told me that they had to fix three small cavities, ones that didn’t show up on the x-ray. If cavities are small, the standard practice is to wait and see to avoid unnecessary dental work. I said I didn’t want that done, and the supervisor told me I had no choice while talking down to me. I was shocked. I got up and left. I felt forced to accept dental work I did not medically need to be done. I was treated poorly and wasted 9 hours of my life.

Started coming here, because my son decided he wanted braces. I thought you needed to be a patient at the Dental clinic in order to get braces from the university. Which is not the case at all. You can receive dental care from else where and still come to the university for braces or invisaligners. They dont accept most insurances he at the dental clinic. With my insurance I have to get the bill in the mail, then call the insurance company myself to get reimbursed. As far as for the braces or invisaligners NO insurance is accepted! You would have to do a payment plan. I came to the UB of medicine for the price of the braces. They are cheaper than going else where even with insurance. A little FYI parking is free, you have to go in and get a parking pass. There are 3 different lots you could park in. The parking alot right next to the Squire Hall which is the building the dental offices are is always busy.

I honestly put this appointment off until I absolutely had to go because I have major anxiety after a horrific experience at a different dental facility. Because I had a cracked wisdom tooth and needed an emergency appointment, my regular dentist referred me to UB. I shook like a leaf the entire time, but they were the kindest people, and treated me with utmost professionalism. I felt comfortable in their care. Ethan, the one who performed the extraction was very good. I was expecting to have more than Novocain for a wisdom tooth extraction, especially with my nerves, but I understand that this is a school, and that at times means choosing to not have the luxuries of comforts that a regular dental office would provide. My only critique is when I voiced pain, they asked “just pressure though, right? That’s perfectly normal, you’re doing great.” I said no, pain…like it’s SORE. They said it was normal, but I was surprised to feel that much pain even with Novocain. I also was pretty surprised they didn’t give ANYTHING for pain. I wasn’t looking for a narcotic, but arriving in pain and leaving in pain was slightly disappointing. Having taken some OTC meds at home now, the edge is taken off and I’m starting to feel better. I think it’s important to remember they do everything they can , but at the end of the day, they can’t help the fact that pulling a wisdom tooth is uncomfortable. I will absolutely be back as a regular patient. Super impressed with my care overall, and a thank you to everyone involved. I know severe anxiety is a difficult thing to deal with, and I appreciate the fact that they calmed my nerves enough that I will return and continue improving my smile. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

So far its great. Ive only had my 1sr appointment. It went great. Ins covered the $70 for the 18 old school x-rays. My cost for the appointment is $5.00. Not sure why the $5 is being charged. I dont care. I was there 2 hours. Im never in a rush. Im interested in how things run and work so I was happy to sit there. The student I had did explain some things. She examined me. A Dr/Dentist took a quick look then spoke with me. No problems at all. I feel like Im in good hands. I dont go into a place looking to certify the bad reviews I read online. Im looking for a great experience and so far its great. They will most likely do some work next appointment. Im guessing they will call me??? Not sure when.

UB dental is really not a good way to go..! ---- The implants took years instead of months. The student doctor who I initially worked with was good, however, after she left I was assigned two others who had no clue what my procedures were. There was... NO FILE. They SOLD my personal information to a collection company after I left the company to finish my implants with a real dentist... saying I owed them money, when my account was paid to date.I wrote them letters to have the collection companies back off, but they wont reply back to me. My credit score fell 120 points. UB Dental is not a trustworthy operation--- how can they SELL my social security number, and my personal information and get away with it.Beware of these people..!

I spent a full year going to monthly appointments each lasting 4 hours. Sometimes I went twice a month. I was to receive implants. During the course, a tooth needed root canal. I was sent away w/ a temp filling instead of a temp crown to protect the tooth. My appt was 3 weeks later because of the students schedule. I told the student it was too long to wait for a hollowed out tooth with just a temp filling. The tooth did crack. I had to have it extracted and go into a partial. The student said to me you get what you pay for. The blame was put on me and the student lied saying I bit into a hard piece of candy. It was SOFT marshmallow. The tooth was not properly protected A regular dentist would never have a patient wait 3 weeks with a partially completed root canal with out a temporary crown. After a year of keeping all appointments, there was no delivery on the implants. Many appointments no work was done. We waited for teaching doctors they were sometimes not available. The partial was delivered and was over x amount I have been making monthly payments on the bill. I was sent a letter threatening collections. When I called to find out why when I had been making regular payments I was told you signed the paper work. I explained I am physically disabled, and have many medical bills. This was the best I could do. Again I was told. You signed this paper work and agreeing to pay this. I have a less than half left to pay and was told I had to pay this in full today to avoid collections. I could understand if I was not making any payments but I have steadily made payment.I cant believe that a person who is making regular payments is treated this way and was not delivered a promise of implants after I put a full 12 months / 4 hours per visit in a chair and not received the originally promised product. My take away is the students do not care because they are leaving and dont have to worry about a local reputation because they are not building a practice. The teaching staff seems good but at times had to cancel or not available.UB Dental has a 3 appt miss your no longer a patient rule. I missed 2. One was my error. The second one I was in the ER and proved it. I was still warned, regardless of the ER, I had missed 2 appointments and 1 more I would no longer receive care. Ridiculous.Basically you are a number, a guinea pig for teachers and students to work on. Id had rathered gone to a professional dental office. It would have cost me more but not the cost of a tooth, never receiving the products that I initially went there for and be bill for their mistakes.

Hello,I just had an appointment this afternoon to have a cavity filled. The student who took care of me, Nina, was very detailed, polite and explained everything that was being done. I thought her work was excellent. The student that assisted was excellent as well in her care and work. Thank you.

Positive experience over about ten years. Students typically sensitive and conscientious and all work is checked by a faculty member. However, the interface with the community is poor. Call menu reached on main number offers no option for making an appointment. They apparently distinguish between emergency and cleaning appointments, otherwise you are bumped to patient coordinators who do not return calls. Like any service or product, the best in the world is of little use if you cant access it.

A couple of these reviews do seem like horror stories, but for many others, one has to ask, what did you expect? Its a dental school so yes, treatments will take longer, but youre also paying about a third of what you would elsewhere. For those of us without dental insurance, its great. Ive been several times now, and aside from the long appointments, everything has been totally fine. Based on my personal experience, UB Dental is highly recommended.

Thieves!!! Showed a receipt that clearly stated that my balance was $0 but they put $47 on my credit anyways. How do I owe them anything when my balance was $0? Still dealing with these MONSTERS 2 years later for my money. Avoid this place. Had to took out my root canals at a different dentist office because it was done by these idiots! If I did pay them (NOT GOING TO HAPPEN) I would have paid $547 for two spaces in my mouth.

It’s ok so far. The paperwork for the first screening appointment took a bit of time, but I expected that. For my screening, it was a fair price. I wish I was told in advance that xrays costed a bit more. The young lady who examined my teeth was very nice. The professor who double checked me, wasn’t very personable or thorough, and seemed like he was already clocked out for the day. When I left the screening, they said they’d call me in 1-2 weeks to schedule the next appointment (a filling). However, it’s been 3 weeks and going on to the 4th, and I’m just considering to bite the bullet and pay for a filling at another local place. Plus, there are so many negative reviews/horror stories about the student work on here, so I’m not really looking forward to get my cavity filled here.

Very thoural very good service. Looking at the other comments it is probably due to the student that is assigned to you. Mine was great, truly concerned and thoural. Price is about a third of what you would pay. Appointments take a bit longer but it is a school. All procedures are reviewed and approved by a doctor.

By Far the WORST experience ever. 10 months after my consultation, my appointment was never submitted to my insurance company. Finally when the procedure was done, a wisdom tooth removed, I was sent home. Prescription was called on to the Wrong pharmacy and never corrected... paid full price. Now I am sitting in the ER not even 24 hours later due to my mouth being infected. Never. Never. Never again will I go there.

The dental student honest to God destroyed my teeth. She was rude and condescending - I have less than perfect teeth, especially for someone my age (twenty six) and she repeatedly told me how bad they were, over and over, with a disgusted tone as if shed never met anyone that grew up poor or something. When she finally got to give me a filling, she did not numb me whatsoever. I told her this and she asked if I could bear with her for five more minutes which ended up being over forty of deep drilling. The dental professor came over and it turns out she was using the wrong drill and broke my teeth, AND she had used the child sized novacaine needle which could not numb me as it did not reach far enough. It was the most Marathon Man insanely painful torture for 40 minutes and I now have three teeth in a row that are nearly entirely metal. It was traumatic and costly.

I was referred here by my Dentist for an emergency extraction because I had an infection in a rotting wisdom tooth. I called and was gotten in right away. Because I was new it took a bit to get through the paperwork but once I was back to the work station the student I was assigned was very kind and did his best to work in an environment that was wrongly assigned to him (he was right-handed and ended up with a left- handed chair) but he made the best of it and tried to ensure my utmost comfort. The attending physician was a little rough though when he got in my mouth because I was barely able to open my jaw, but between the student and the attending physician they were able to pinpoint a location of discomfort. Because my BP was so high they couldnt do the extraction but they were able to shave down a very sharp tooth which I didnt know was causing more discomfort than I thought I was in. For those of you reading the other comments that are extremely negative, Im sure everyone has their views, plus they are in pain or discomfort. This is a SCHOOL and the students are learning more than just the dental skills they enrolled for and the whole point of rude students or staff need to be taken up with the school. The quality of service I received was awesome and every time Ive called them to ask questions Ive always been called back and my questions answered.

Called them five days later because my extraction site was infected i wanted something for the infection as there was puss blood and pain worse than the tooth i had pulled. They would not give me an antibiotic or pain meds and It has affected my ability to work and talk now. Ive never gotten an infection from an extraction until i came here. The doctor did call me back but asked if i could see another dentist at another practice.they did not care whatsoever. No antibiotics after or befpre pulling my teeth...now im infected...unprofessional uncaring and now im in tons of pain. Thankfully the ER got me the antibiotics i needed for the infected extraction site.please do not go here pay the extra its worth it

Do not get any work here. I was a patient for 10 months and I am still in a lot of pain. The students are not professional. I was blamed for a no show appointment for two tooth restorations. I was concerned about the restorations because I was in so much pain. I wanted a doctors assurance that my teeth were okay. The endo surgeon performed five surgeries that cost over $1000.00 and he told me there were different prices for different students. I had no confidence in the student they assigned and wanted to pay more for someone more experienced as I have been suffering. When I called the students cell phone, he did not answer or call me back. Now, they do not want me as a patient. I will sue and contact the health department as my care was not placed first. Also, they assured me that a surgeon would call me in July of 2015 to fix me teeth, but never did. I had to complain to get help.
