Quick and easy. Check in and professionally escorted to different rooms for a thorough eye exam and a pressure test for glaucoma, before seeing the doctor himself. I received my new prescription for my glasses as well. This was my annual visit and was not aware that the office location has moved (and was not warned) so I went to the old place first but otherwise the office reminds you of your coming appointment and any referral requirement from your PCP in advance.

I can only speak for their customer service and I give them 5 stars. My husband and I were visiting Boston from another state and he lost the special sunglasses he needed during the post op period for the type of lens he had placed. After doing a Google search and found that Boston Vision does the same lens procedure I sent an email to see if they had the glasses available in the Brookline office. Even though my husband is not a patient of his, Dr. Brenner responded immediately and offered to provide him with the missing glasses, allowing my husband to enjoy the city and not need to spend the weekend in a dark hotel room. The techs & ophthalmologists at the Brookline location are great, friendly and knowledgeable and the office is organized and clean. The person that works in the optical shop was able to repair my glasses during my visit and had lots of good suggestion on a new pair of glasses as well. I would have given 5 stars but the lady at the receptionist desk (the one near the optical shop) was not that friendly and didn’t seem to know the answer to basic questions like when the optical shop opened. She could have been having an off day because normally everyone there is very good.

Very impressed with the LASIK offered here. I had my surgery done, it was very quick and they explained everything that was going to happen. I was able to see with 20/20 vision the next day and they were very good about following up to make sure that everything was going well. Would definitely recommend.

I had lasik done yesterday and today, I have no discomfort and seeing perfectly. The entire staff were very friendly and made the process so much easier. Kate at the front desk was very helpful, making sure paperwork was in order and got back immediately to me anytime I had questions. She booked my follow up appointments and was very efficient. Dr Brennan went over the procedure, asking multiple times if I had any questions. He and the rest of the team during the procedure made me feel more at ease, explaining what they were doing next and making sure I was ok throughout. All and all, great experience and would totally recommend.

I have always received excellent care at Boston Vision. All of the staff are always pleasant and efficient. I had a somewhat different experience in my last appointment. The doctor I saw greeted me with, “I’m Dr... Your vision isn’t very good.” I was surprised because I’ve never been spoken to so insensitively at this office. I’m a senior with eye issues, so that remark made me anxious and set me on edge. I will continue to get care at Boston Vision, but hope that I never hear a remark like that again.

I came to Boston Vision for LASIK with Dr. Melki. Everything from the consultation with Dr. Patel to the procedure with Dr. Melki and his team was absolutely seamless. All the staff I encountered, from front desk to technicians, were professional, courteous, prompt, and happy to answer any questions I had. The facility itself was extremely clean. I didn’t have to wait past my appointment time, which was a pleasant surprise, as many drs I’ve been to in the past, regardless of field, have had significant wait times due to overbooking. Not the case here!The procedure itself was as easy as I could have hoped for and done before I knew it. No discomfort beyond what they told me to expect, and all discomfort was gone within 8 hours (your mileage may vary on that front). Aftercare instructions were clear and easy to follow. Very happy withy PRK results, nearly 20/20 vision after having -7.00 vision my whole adult life. The office was very professional and answered every question I had. Coming from out of town the office was able to do to all the pre op work day of, I did see my personal eye doctor for a pre op the week before. The operation itself was very quick and pain free, just mildly uncomfortable. I noticed a dramatic improvement in my vision immediately. If you are unsure about vison correction surgery let this be your sign, you should do it. Before surgery I dont remember a time in my life where I opened my eyes in the morning and clearly saw the world. Now a month later I already take it for granted. It was worth every penny!

I had a very thorough and efficient appointment - from the various tests to determine if I’m eligible to seeing the doctor and then finally the surgeon, everything ran like a well oiled machine. I did have to wait a half hour past my appointment to be taken in but it did seem like the office was particularly busy and running late that day. The billing woman at the end explained everything to me from the costs to the procedure itself to post-care. I felt comfortable and confident proceeding with the process. The surgeons seem highly qualified and professional. My only complaint is I wish they took time to answer more questions and not rush from one step to another - I felt slightly uncomfortable taking up more time asking questions and I had the feeling my concerns and questions were not invited. This could have been due to the business of the office that day however.

Due to covid-19, it took me a year to finally get my laser cataract surgery. I am very pleased with the results. My only complaint was that I experienced considerable pain in the first eye for about 24 hours. The second eye was pain free. I can see much better now, and am not afraid to drive at night any more. Thankfully, It seems my eyes are improving. Leading up to the surgery I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The day of the sugery everything ran smoothly. However, follow-up care has been very difficult to attain. Many members of the staff said they would follow-up with me about ceirtain issues but they never do. I have had to hunt them down to get my questions answers and more often than not they do not answer the phone and I have to leave multiple voicemails before my calls are returned. When I am answered I have often been given conflicting information.

Boston Lazer was one of the few websites that let me know that I was approved for financing right away. That was important. This was one of the best decisions I have made regarding my health. I was super nervous about the procedure but everyone at the Brookline and Lawrence locations are amazing! The procedure itself was “uncomfortable” due to the pressure they have to put on your eye but not painful at all. After going on the website and getting approved I had the surgery booked and completed within a month! I could instantly see, the next day was even better!

Dr Melki is wonderful but the receptionists are rather rude and difficult. Also they’re in such high demand that scheduling is difficult (and the receptionists are snotty if you ask for alternative times).

They do a great job and are very pleasant to deal with. Really enjoy the whole team. I’ve been working with Jason Brenner for years and I’ve had fantastic results. The only odd thing was the group setting in Brookline where they do the eye scans, which felt a little bit like being in a communal room. The Wellesley location doesn’t seem to have that same public set up. Other than that, very high marks!

I came to Boston Vision for LASIK. Everyone was very responsive and from start to finish the process was very efficient and transparent. There is a lot of information in the videos that they have, the staff happily answer questions, and put you in touch with patients who have gone through the process. Could see perfectly same day as the procedure, and except for some dryeness on the day of no discomfort. Day 1 after surgery, dryness is gone.

Wonderful experience with my LASIK surgery. Boston Vision made sure I was a good candidate, explained the different procedures and advised me on what would be best for me (note: my prescription was very high at -8). I felt comfortable during my consultation and we scheduled my surgery afterwards.Fast forward on the day of surgery, I met with Dr.Villazon and Chelsea who were super thorough in answering any additional questions I had. Naturally, I was nervous but the muscle relaxant helped with that. During the procedure, I felt a lot of pressure but felt calm as Dr.Villazon talked me through what was happening. After it was all done, I sat up and my vision was clear. There was a lot of stinging after the numbing drops wore off but a staff member kindly applied a few more drops for the ride home. This was godsend (if you feel any discomfort, don’t hesitate to ask for this)! After a 3 hour nap, the stinging had completely gone away and all that was left was the perfect vision.My recovery and follow-up appointments have gone really well! My final word is that I highly recommend Boston Vision for their knowledgeable and attentive staff. Thank you for this life changing procedure! If you decide on this procedure, I wish you the best recovery!

Very easy in-and-out eye exam in a convenient location. I noticed there was very little paperwork to fill out, even though I was a new patient. Wait time was maybe 20 minutes and the exam about a half hour long. Looking forward to returning in 2 years.

Very professional group, from the moment I went in to see if Lasik was right for me to the day of surgery nothing could have been better. Day of surgery went well, was about 2 hours. They recheck eye to double and triple check that laser is programmed correctly, then answer any lingering questions you have. They give you valium if you choose to use it (I certainly would to calm any last minute nerves). Then you for laser room to be open, they bring you in and talk to you step by step. Whole process was about 10 minutes with less than 1 minutes of laser time. Next morning was amazing to wake up and see! The Follow up the day after surgery was about 5 minutes.Highly recommended!!

The people were very nice however I went to get a consultation for laser surgery for $5000 but after i got my consult i was informed i needed a surgery that would cost me $9000. I felt like it was a bait and switch

New to the area. Did a bit of research on what I hoped would be a high quality, experienced eye doctor. I held my breath and booked an appt . Immediately apparent walking in to office that this was a quality team, highly trained/educated. Only challenge I had was scheduling- changes to my appt date and location (closing one office & had to move me to another). But OVERALL, five STARS! Recommended to my co-workers!

Went in for a Lasik consult in mid-March. Did all the testing, the providers were clear on why I wasnt a good candidate for Lasik. My provider that day, Dr. Yao talked to me about the alternative, PRK. She had it done herself so she was able to tell me about what she personally experienced during recovery and what helped with the discomfort. I booked my surgery for their next available, which was about a month later, seems like this practice is really busy, which was a good sign. I went in two days before surgery to meet the surgeon and have any final questions answered. This visit was kind of a waste...waited half an hour only to have Dr. Melki take a look at my chart and say I agree with this treatment plan, did you watch the videos? do you have any questions? I returned two days later for the surgery, spent like two hours at the office, and left. Still recovering from PRK and aside from a pretty excruciating 36 hours its been fine. My vision is still a bit blurry, but thats to be expected with PRK, though it is still vastly improved from before surgery. Boston vision seems efficient, there were no glaring red flags about how the practice operates, and I got my vision correction surgery and left with my eyes intact. The staff was attentive and has made themselves available for post op questions. My only real negatives were the pointless pre-op visit (might be more useful for people who are marginally eligible for lasik over PRK or something) and the fact that the prescription post-op pain med was a topical eye drop. I dont want to sound drug-seeking, but regrowing the outer layer of your cornea skin after having it scraped off kinda calls for something a little stronger than advil and topical eyedrops. Theres probably some clinical reason for this (or just general hesitancy to prescribe anything stronger, which is understandable). I just wanted to note that for people who may be considering PRK to be prepared to raw dog the extreme discomfort that starts about 24 hours after surgery and continues for like 36 hours after that.

Really fast service, and the most thorough eye exam I’ve ever had. I’ve had a LASIK consultation elsewhere a few years ago, and the tests were not as comprehensive as the ones done as Boston Laser. The staff was extremely accommodating in allowing me to get my one-week follow up with another provider in Maine, where I live. They are even compensating the Maine ophthalmologist, so there will be no additional cost to me. Super helpful!

They went above and beyond when it came to informing you every step of the way about how the operation was going to go. After the operation, they made sure I was being accompanied by someone and I felt as though they did not lack in any area. They tried to help you and make you comfortable as much as possible. Ive needed glasses ever since I was little. After doing this operation, your vision wont be 100% back right away but enough that you will be able to see the world differently. They gave me the chance to see the world differently and made me feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way. I had both the laser and the cataract procedure done in both eyes in two consecutive weeks in late August 20. The whole staff are professional and know exactly what they are doing - which includes the technicians performing the tests using sophisticated optical test equipment. The surgeon was a professional as well. I have zero issues, and highly recommend them.

Dr Melki and staff are all very professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. All communications were clear and easy to follow. I went in for a lasik consultation and left making the appointment for the surgery. All my questions were answered thoroughly and the videos they recommend you watch in advance are very clear as well. The surgery day was just as smooth and efficient. I checked in at 7am and left before 9am. My vision improved throughout the day and the next day I woke up with near perfect vision and very discomfort. I would highly recommend Dr Melki if you are considering lasik eye surgery and I dont know why I stuck with contact lenses for over 20 years.

I was impressed that the surgeon met with me at the initial appointment and describe the procedure. Some of their competitors do not meet with you until the day of the surgery.The procedure is a lot more uncomfortable than described. That is my only complaint. They should offer better pain meds. Six hours after the procedure, everything feels much better. 4 1/2 stars. I’m a tough critic!

I had a good experience getting LASIK and PRK (one in each eye) at Boston Laser. Dr. Brenner seemed extremely knowledgeable and competent, which put me at ease. There was a bit of confusion in the communication between staff regarding which procedures I was having and when my appointments should be scheduled, but overall I am pleased with the experience and delighted with the results.

Its a teaching facility so the quality of the interaction varies a bit from visit to visit, but they are pretty good overall. I like my doctor, and their equipment seems up to date. Occasionally I encounter a glitch with the front desk. For example, on my last visit on July 28, 2020, my eyeglasses rx was not filled out correctly and I had difficulty getting a complete and accurate replacement form.

Working with Boston Laser was great. From start to finish the whole team was super professional and explained all aspects of what to expect with the procedure. I was really reassured when they mentioned that they do 20-40 LASIK procedures per week. Aside from a bit of dryness the next day, I woke up from a lovely Valium induced slumber and could see without glasses for the first time in 25 years. I was extremely excited leading up to the procedure and then I became super nervous the day of. As my vision was checked prior to the surgery I was brought to ease as Alisha thoroughly explained what to expect and what she went through when she had her procedure. During the procedure, Dr. Brenner was right behind me explaining everything. I could tell that he was in control and all I had to do was focus on his simple instructions. Before I knew it, the procedure was over. There is a point when you may lose sight, this was covered multiple times, and I sort of freaked out internally when this happened. Luckily I was provided a stress teddy bear to squeeze. But, I knew to keep my chin up, focus on the green light, and follow the Dr’s instructions. I did this and everything, so far has worked out better than my wildest dreams.
