I had a right hip surgery in March 2021 with Dr. Jennifer Peterson. My son & I showed up before 5:30am for my surgery for that morning. I walked in with my walker and they got me a wheelchair to be in before the surgery. Thank God. I was having major issues walking since the right hip was 2 inches shorter than my left hip. My son took my walker back to the car and then we went up to the next level to wait to be called back for surgery. The people here are AWESOME. So friendly and helpful. I stayed one night and was up walking later that day. Up during the night and taught how to help myself at home, they allowed my son to sit in the room as I was taught the different way to help myself. He could later tell his siblings what was said, so they help me.I would recommend this hospital for surgery. My doctor works at Tulsa Bone & Joint. The food was excellent.

I have never walked in to a hospital with a simple problem and they turn it into a full blown 8 hour wait for them to tell me what I already know. All i needed was help with my throat injury and they made it big deal with catscans and xrays. Multiple shots and blood work. Just looked and looked for covid weather you want it or not. I wont be back here again for sure 2 hour wait at St.Frances is literally a 6 to 8 hour wait here.

This is absolutely the worst hospital I have ever been too. Nursing staff in ER make it 100 % obvious they could care less about patients. I have never encountered nurses that are rude like the ones I encountered today. And when they screwed up and sent my med to the wrong pharmacy and we called the ER to get it fixed the gal Liz or Liv that answered the phone was the same way. Then my husband spoke with a head nurse who basically justified it. I guess bad nurses defend bad nurses.Do not take your loved ones to this ER. I will be filing a formal complaint against Liz or Liv and that snotty nurse that discharged me. Neither of you should be in nursing!

I came in very Ill from covid complications. The EMSA crew took me straight from gurney to the ER bed. Within minutes I had an IV and all the stickers for the monitor. I arrived there at 9pm and by 4am I was moved into a private bed and admitted promptly. I spent Monday evening thru Friday afternoon there. I had to be sent to the Bartlesville facility Friday because I was still deteriorating lung wise and they would be more prepared for further assistance. Everything was great from the staff, to the room service, large meals or small if you wanted. Food was better than what youd expect with pretty much a full menu. Surpassed my expectations. They definitely made me feel important. Wish I could have stayed there for the rest of my current duration.

Horrible service! Rude registration employees and nurses in this ER. No care, compassion, or respect. I have a severe knee injury. The nurse made a nice samaritan push my wheel chair to the trauma room door as she stood there! I have limited range of motion and cannot wheel myself. She then tried to play as the dr as far as my treatment would go. I told her my thoughts and she took the wheel chair out and I had to limp around with a torn ACL! Shame on this place and their negligence! This place is ridiculous ! Hillcrest South is way better than this!

The ER are staff. There is a 50/50 chance that these people might actually treat you like a decent human being. I have had numerous health issues that just seem to become back to back, when surfacing. There have been several occasions, where they treat me like my needs are not important. One time, I swear they tried to treat me like a drug seeking patient (Ive never taken drugs a day in my life) until they got results back, showing that I indeed had endometriosis (found out it was indeed stage 4). I have had numerous instances like this, and here I am, sitting in the ER right now, and the nurses have been appearing like they are not interested in their job. One even was condescending towards me, when she brought me back, asking me all sorts of questions why Ive never been to have this checked with a certain type of doctor. She also looked at me and rushed around like, my symptoms were not important enough to be at an ER. Is it possible that this just started happening to me, and I dont necessarily know who to go to for this? If they dont like their job, and dont want to deal with people, then maybe they should quit and go find some place else to work. Im a paying patient, so its not like Im skipping out on Bills and what not, so please dont treat me like that. It would be nice to have a compassionate conversation with these people. The actual doctor though, is usually very compassionate. Even if they cant actually figure out the issue at that moment. The nurses and other staff on the other hand, need to reevaluate what the hell they want to do for work.

I had covid and was referred to a hospital. The doctor at Ascension-St John in Broken Arrow did a ct scan and then told me that he saw the signs of covid in my lungs. Normally, if you have covid, they get money from the government and dont charge you. It turns out that the doctor did not officially diagnose me as a covid patient, so they sent me a bill. I called them and requested them to contact the doctor or to look at the ct scan to correct this and cancel the bill (the doctors initial bill from his office showed that I owed nothing, the doctor originally canceled his own bill possibly due to me being covid). A few weeks later, they told that they didnt contact the doctor and they didnt look at the ct scan and that I still needed to pay. I went to the hospital to correct this, but they said the doctor didnt enter the code for covid so they couldnt do anything. Therefore, I will have to pay. But I will tell everyone about this unfair treatment. I wouldnt advise anyone to go to this hospital.

Avoid this ER. My son broke his arm (we live in E BA) so when I got the call saying he broke his arm I was thinking only of getting him to the nearest open place that could treat him.(He fell right in front of an urgent care that was already closed.) I rushed him to the the closest place I knew would be open at 8:40pm and thats how we ended up at St. John where we waited for over 2 hours before he was even brought back. There were 3 people in the ER already, none were in obvious pain or distress, only my son, who had a bit of bone protruding from his wrist in the worst pain hes ever had. All were seen before us. During those 2 hours my SO left (only one visitor/parent per patient with covid), came back with Tylenol after I called him after wed been waiting for over 30 minutes in the waiting room.Side note for the ER: let people who are in obvious pain know what the estimated wait time when they 1st come in so that way they can save themselves and go somewhere else! The only pain relief my child received for almost 3 hours was from the Tylenol we got for him. And then comes the reason for this review, what really hurt my child. The intravenous (IV) cannula or receptor for the IV that was put into his good arm (before the ER gave him any thing for the pain). This caused him more pain than the broken arm because what I didnt learn until we left St. Francis Childrens hospital (which I highly recommend and wished Id just gone straight there) after his surgery and getting ready to leave the childrens hospital was the doctor at St. Johns had put an adult sized IV receptor on my 90 lb teen! He has perfect vains because hes so skinny, why would you use an adult size cannula on my tiny child??? With the amount you charge for an ER visit for a splint, a few xrays, being told to go to the childrens hospital to have the surgery done because St John cant even do the type of surgery he is needing, I think you can afford to have multiple sizes of cannulas! After all you are an ER inside a hospital!Way to screw up the most basic and yet important thing, his IV cannula. That alone hurt him more than the broken bones in his arm! It continued to bother him through the 3 days of having an IV continuously in him.

This is the WORST hospital in town. Avoid at ALL costs. They dont care about you, youre just a number to them. You dont get the correct medication, they give you pills instead of an IV. They dont care if youre in pain. I had a knee replacement done there just a few weeks ago. Instead of putting you asleep, they use an epidural. Had I known that or been privy to that information, I would have not done my procedure there. You get there, they wheel you into pre-op, give you pills so you apparently dont realize theyre about to put needles in your back, much less try to object. Again, WORST HOSPITAL EVER! Even after the surgery and in recovery, theres no compassion or bed side manner at all, by anyone!! I would rather die than be treated at St. John Ascension again, seriously!

Only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because The surgeon was wonderful, the surgical staff were so incredibly friendly, and the awesome nurses the first day of my fathers stay. My problem was the nursing staff and the bedside manner the day of discharge. I know everyone is on edge because of Covid 19, I know my family tries our best to take the correct precautions, but we also do our best to be kind people. Unfortunately, that is not what we experienced the second day. The first day the nurses were sweet, friendly, and goofy which we loved. Made us feel at ease. The day of discharge was a different story. My father is a sweet man and very forgiving. You can joke with a patient without belittling them, you can respond to a question without rolling your eyes, and you can be understanding to someone’s needs instead of brushing it off. Now, I don’t want anyone in trouble or reprimanded especially during Covid 19. I just hope everyone learns from this, understand how we saw it, and be better.

I also had to ask for the time off on short notice. This put a burden on my employer as well as myself since I will be losing income because of short notice. I care for a disabled individual who will miss being cared for because the hospital could give any advanced notice. Over the past few months I have brought my sister into the ER for severe stomach pain, vomiting blood and other such related issues. We chose St. Johns because it close to home and always relatively quiet and thus you can be seen rather quickly. However, over the course of what I would say was four visits (perhaps five) nothing had actually been done. Each time they simply stated it was most likely a bleeding ulcer, gave her some medications and fluids and then rushed us out the door. Finally, only one day after our last visit to St. Johns, she was in so much pain we decided to drive to Saint Francis instead, because something just wasnt right and she needed to actually be helped not dismissed. Within the course of a few hours they discovered a underlying infection, a severe PH imbalance and to top all that off, cancerous growth on her Kidney which we are now in the process of scheduling surgery for. Now I get it, mistakes happen and things get missed. But over the course of four or five visits in less than two months you would have thought they would have caught some of this at least once. It just seems like every time they saw us they acted like we were just an inconvenience to them to be pushed back out the door. With of course the exception of a few nice nurses which unfortunately I can not recall their names. I cant give an opinion on the entire hospital as a whole, but for ER visits unless your life is immediately on the line, Id perhaps make the trip someplace else.

The stories go on and on- over 4 hr wait for new prescribed medicine that was emergent- social worker not personable- charge nurse so-so. There were four staff each doing a separate job to make me survive this attack. I will say once I did have an experience like others. I was left in the room for a couple of hours after the doctor saw me and I did see the nurses and doctor chatting, eating and drinking. I am an RN myself and I know how ER can be. You chat on the few minutes you have, along with eat. Medical workers very seldom get breaks like most employees. They may start to eat, and an emergency comes in and down goes their food. Doctors and nurses do get hungry and must eat to do their jobs. I know people see them as relaxing behind a desk but trust me that could not be farther from the truth. If my staff finished their shift a half hour before clock out and were caught up, they were encouraged to just sit, breathe and talk about the day. Its good for them and their work abilities.Secondly my husband has had three surgeries and the nurses were outstanding. All the staff were kind and professional.

Gave me the treatment I needed, and Casey and Karen on the 4th floor worked tirelessly to flush blood clots and clear catheter in bleeding bladder.Dr Saint Re-did the surgery and found they had missed some of the cancer. He removed it all and cauterized the wound which stopped all the bleeding. They saved my life and I will forever be grateful.By far the best hospital I have ever been to. Hope I dont need one in the future, but if I do I wont hesitate going to ST. Johns Broken ArrowEd Whitney

Our doctor sent us to St Johns Broken Arrow because it was close. The doctors and staff were very attentive at the ER for the shortness of breath and pain my husband was having. The Bottom line however, is that for the 2 hours we were there it was over $8,000. It was only $6,000 for the 4 days and nights he spent at St Johns Tulsa, where they had to transport him for the care he needed. Take the extra time and drive to the Tulsa St Johns to save money.

The woman that assisted me in admissions was very rude as soon as I told her I was a Foster parent. Im trying to take care of a sick baby and I am starting to believe it is because the baby has soonercare. Are all hospitals/Dr offices this greedy that they are more concerned about the insurance carrier over the babies health? I would gladly pay out of pocket to protect my foster child, but I shouldnt have to feel like I should.

The mother of my kids was employed there and recently lost her job there all because she accidentally spilled a drink on a patients luggage. Instead of a write up, or making her pay for damages, they just straight up fired her on the spot. With it being this close to Christmas, I am appalled by such lack of sympathy and compassion. One star.

I got my tonsils taken out at St. Johns BA today. I have to say, my throat may hurt, but Thank You St. John,s broken arrow for a nice, calm experience. I absolutely love Dr. Guy! He let me have my Dads blanket in the OR and even played Guns N Roses for me as they sedated me!My nurses were very patient, never missed a beat, and I was made to feel very comfortable. They even let me take home my yellow smiley face socks! To top all that off, Dr. Guy even remembered that in my first appointment with him I had told him how much I liked the pink kids Amoxacillin as a kid, and prescribed me that instead of the bitter adult stuff. He is an AMAZING Doctor. Thank you to St. Johns and all of your WONDERDFUL staff for making a scared girl with Autism Spectrum Disorder feel safe and comfortable. I cant wait for my follow up appointment so I can thank Dr. Guy myself! Have a great night everyone! :)

The only reason I put one star is because they did not have 0 stars as an option. I recently went into the ER with cellulitis (infection causing pain, redness of leg and fever). I was admitted and put on IV antibiotics and sent home after 2 days. Over the next 4 weeks I was admitted back in 3 more times with recurrent cellulitis. One of those times put on IV antibiotics and kept for 9 days. After that was all clear, I began having chest, shoulder, neck and jaw pain. After 4 days of it coming and going I went for my regular scheduled dr appointment. They were concerned about these symptoms and said I should have gone to the ER at first sign of the symptoms and they sent me to the ER for a heart work up. ER dr admitted me to the hospital and began tests. They kept me for 3 days. I was told my blood work was all good as were other tests. On 3rd day hospital dr came in and very matter-of-factly informed me that my symptoms must all be in my head because my tests are all good. She basically said that I was imagining it all and that I should see a psychiatrist. We asked her if she was saying the cellulitis isnt real. She said thats right. I asked then why was I told i have it? She said oh well we write those things down for insurance purposes. I said, I was told in person that I have it. She said oh, if you were told in person then you have it. I asked if it wasnt cellulitis why was I hooked up to IV antibiotics every time? She back peddled again and said if you were hooked up then you had cellulitis. Before she left, my husband asked her if she is saying that if I have more cardiac symptoms that I should not go to the ER but know that its all in my head? She said yes, thats correct. Wow! I didnt go to the ER with those symptoms. I waited four days and went to my dr who said I should have gone to the ER and he sent me there where THEY chose to admit me. This dr does not even know me. Yet she made it clear that I am not wanted to come to the ER to be checked out. I never asked to be admitted. I asked to be checked and told what was going on. I think that is a reasonable request. I did not admit myself, they did. I find this hurtful and am angry at such an accusation. How can I trust a hospital with a physician who would take my very real infection and accuse me of imagining, even though I was placed on IV antibiotics, and to tell me if I have cardiac symptoms to ignore them and not to go to the ER though it was my Dr who sent me in the first place? If it were my heart and I ignored it, I could die because she told me not to go.That really is scary!

I have never had a bad experience in their ER. I recently had 2 staph infections and I am allergic to most antibiotics. They quickly decided to keep me overnight on the 4th floor. The nurses and aides and all the staff really, were very nice. They helped explain stuff in a manner I could understand. They were promptly there when I buzzed for them. They even brought me a fan because I cant sleep w/out one, lol. I left there feeling cared for and on the correct road to recovery. Thank you so very much to the ER staff, but especially the staff on the 4th floor!

Went to the ER for symptoms for miscarriage. The wait time was extremely low and always has been. This is why we have always used this facility instead of any others. The doctor used the term walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it must be a duck. I was sent home with no real answers. No one there had an empathy. I did not pass the baby for another week or so. (Which could have caused septic and shock.) No OB/GYN would see me for a follow up and I did not feel comfortable going back that hospital. Even after my insurance, i still owed $3000 for the hospital, $100 for the ultasound and $150 for the physicians. I have been trying to dispute all the charges. I have requested an itemized statement 8 different times and have yet to receive one. I have called the manager of the Physicians billing numerous times and never received a call back. (I am disputing the claim so you would think someone would at least call me back.) Instead, they sent it to collections. Tried disputing it again and was told that I could no longer speak to someone since it has been turned over to the legal department. WAY TO GO ST. JOHNS. Instead of working with someone, you turn a horrible situation worse. Will not be back ANY facility again!

Boy these people are the type of intelligent you can only get in Oklahoma. Not only did I have to wait an hour after they told me that I was being transferred from their ER to St Francis for transport to even show up, could have been there in 20 minutes if my wife had just taken me, but on top of that, did they use EMSA, the service that we all pay for in our water bill? No of course not, they used some company out of Arkansas. So a 20 minute drive now took an hour and a half and is going to cost me $1300 for 18 miles. You can bet that I will spend the next 3 weeks that I am stuck at home finding out who needs to be ripped a new one, and exactly how I go about getting that taken care of.

First off, it makes me sick to even give these idiots a 1 Star. But I didn’t have any choice in the matter. This is by faaaaar...... the worst hospital in the greater Tulsa area. Went in 2 months ago with heart attack symptoms and all that was done was a chest x-ray. Then, Dr. Hu, Wu, Vu, whatever, literally LIED to me and said they didn’t run scans on the weekend. Now, I don’t claim to be an MIT grad but I knew right away it was a lie. This was confirmed by my wonderful niece who is a nurse. And she was shocked. There wasn’t any MRI or CT scan. Anything!!! Dr. Wu, Vu, 2, shoe or whatever must have received his degree from a newspaper article that you cut out and send in. Or maybe an amount of coupons? I don’t know?So let’s fast forward to today, 6-18-2019, where I’m in with SEVERELY increased symptoms 2 months later. Told them immediately that I didn’t think it was a heart attack but possibly something more serious is going on. Same thing happened. This time it was a Joel C. Nunley who doesn’t deserve the respect of being called a doctor either. He received his degree from a Cracker Jack box. “Follow up with your primary care doctor.” Laziest doctors in Tulsa and the surrounding areas. Please, for yourself or loved ones, DO NOT go here!!!!! Save yourself time, money and piece of mind and go somewhere else. No matter the convenience. It’ll be worth it to go somewhere else. I mean look at their rating. They obviously don’t have any idea what they’re doing out of 108-109 reviews. Most negative! Trust people who take the time because I’d rather be doing something else.God bless and good luck.

My grandfather is a current patient at Cornerstone and is NOT receiving the care that he or any human should. They started him on 2 meds he didnt need and the Dr still has neglected to order antibiotics when his labs clearly show signs of a UTI. What is he waiting for? Him to become sepsis? Honestly, as confused as he is it is likely that this is already happening. The nurse, Kerry, does not seem to empathize with why I was upset to walk in to find him laying sideways in the bed with his head twisted and laying on the bed rail. I am sorry but I can assure she wouldnt want the same for her grandfather. (she was standing in the room so she was aware) I am sad to see the way this facility is caring for patients when we had such high hopes. I do NOT recommend this place to care for anyone. Did I mention that when I stopped by as they were taking trays the tech and lady doing the xrays were laughing at him? Who does that? He was in better condition when he was in ICU than he is now and the staff that are supposed to be caring for patients laugh at them instead? 50% of the staff I have met are unprofessional. I could go on and on but I have said enough.

Well, I tried to give the couple of negative reviews that are on here the benefit of the doubt so I decided to go in. Front desk was lifeless, nurse who took my heart rate and blood pressure didnt have any sort of personality whatsoever and now to the grand finale, the doctor! Dr. Vu didnt seem interested in my condition at all. He just asked if I needed any meds and to see if I can take one of their cholesterol tests(which had nothing to do with my pain). He was constantly checking his cell phone. That was probably one of the worse visits Ive ever had with healthcare professionals. I truly wish it could have been a better experience. I dont think you could pay me enough money not to care and be passionate about people that I could help. Hope St. Johns Hospital improves its customer relations.

My 72 yr old Mother had been suffering since Friday with what appeared to be a sciatica/nerve coming from hip down calf of leg. Her Chiropractor was out of town. She was unable to get up from bed to get to restroom we were using a pail as she was in agonizing discomfort. Sun evening my Mother called the ER & asked if they treated this type of thing & was told yes every day. I brought my Mother & used hospital wheel chair to get her from the car into ER. When we were called back the person didnt take over wheel chair or say where we were going I just followed. She asked questions & said someone would be in. A female came in & we informed where discomfort was & that Mom had been in car wreck & hit from behind on a hwy 15 months ago & her low back had never hurt before that. We let her know we were using pail in bed due to severity of it. We informed of Primary Dr. located in medical Bldg & came here since records were connected in system. She asked Moms pain level from 1 to 10 & if she was current on immunizations which she was & Mom gave 10 as her answer. She exited & said someone would be in. As she exited I told Mom I thought she was the Dr & Mom had also. When a female Dr came in she gave her name & immediately asked Mom who I was & if she could speak openly & Mom told her yes. She stated why hadnt Mom told nurse about her prescription pain medication? Mom said she didnt ask, & Dr. continued to say yes she had. I spoke up & said I was here & she didnt. She stated she wasnt giving anything further for pain. Mom & informed we hadnt asked for anything for pain. We informed of car wreck & treatment from Primary, Chiropractor , physical therapy & believed she needed a MRI & steroid injection. She stated they dont do MRI or steroid injections here. I said is this a ER or not? she replied yes but stated none of them do it as no staff here for it. We explained Mom had oral steroids that hadnt helped 2 rounds & Chiropractor & primary. She put in oral steroid & muscle relaxer to a pharmacy although we stated it hadnt worked. She left & a 4th person came with paper work & got wheel chair I had left in hall & walked out. I had to ask where exit was as I wheeled Mom out to ER front area. The lady who checked us in said wait I need your signature they were faster than me I didnt even make it back there to get paper signed. I informed it was because they treated my Mom like a street drug addict & she stated I could call to administration to let them know. After being at my Mothers home & putting her on a plastic tub to urinate in bed as she is unable to get up to get to the bathroom & has cried in agony thru the night & massaged ointments, heat pack to assist her I called at 7:28 am this morning & hospital operator told me staff wasnt in until 8:30 am but I could leave msg. I asked her name of Hospital Administrator she said David Phillips. I let her put me thru & then read google reviews from hospital web site. The owners response to bad reviews always offered further contact with a number. I decided to write this as nothing they could state to me can excuse or justify the approach the staff & specifically the Dr. had with my Mother. Before even examining my Mother (the patient) or meeting her she walked into the room convicting my Mother as guilty of being there for drugs instead of help. I only wish there was a camera and audio in my Mothers room to record what occurred so that no one could deny what happened. I will never come to this ER again or bring anyone here for help & felt compelled after my Mothers suffering to write this to possibly help someone else from this experience.

My dad was just admitted to Cornerstone LTAC Thursday and we are already regretting our decision to admit him there. The night staff are horrible and even their medical director agreed that they have issues with their night staff. My dad informed the nurse he was having difficulty breathing and the nurse stormed out of the room. I followed her down the hall to make sure she told someone and she got an attitude saying “well he says he can’t breath”. When I brought it to the attention of the charge nurse she came back in not once but twice to continue arguing with me. Very unprofessional in my opinion. We are looking at options to have him transferred to another LTAC. I would not recommend admitting your dog here much less your loved one.

Lets just say Im now in recovery from having My gallbladder removed. It was completely inflamed and filled with puss. If I would of waited any longer it could be very bad. So far our experience has been horrible...my mother had knee replacement surgery at 11:47 which means we were there at 6:30 in the morning. This also means she had to stop eating the day before at 4:00 p.m. After the surgery, they were supposed to bring some broth to coat her stomach for heavier food....Well the broth never came and then we were told she had to order her own food as its treated like room service. We barely got the order in before the kitchen closed. Also, the pain IV had come out of her hand so she was receiving no pain relief after a full knee replacement!! Finally someone came in and noticed her hand hand swollen due to the morphine dripping on her hand...They re-inserted the IV but only after 3 hours of pain she had to endure......I really hope the remainder of my mothers stay is better...
