All I did was check to see if you take my insurance and Kristina has not stopped harassing me since. She calls and texts at all hours of the day, starting as early at 8 am which wakes me up because I work night shift, and will not stop after being asked to. I’ve blocked her 3 times and she finds new numbers to “reach out” to me with. Absolutely ridiculous harassment and UNPROFESSIONAL. And I’m not even in your care! Would hate to see how you treat actual patients!

AAC most definitely saved my life. They recognized that my drug addiction was a secondary problem to domestic abuse and violence. In a Monday I found out I was being flown to Las Vegas for detox and rehab. Once 3000 miles away from my abuser I was able to start my healing process and have continued to this day. You gave me back my life thank you! Lori, Caleb everyone thank you!Molly A

American Addiction Centers and their treatment center Greenhouse has been a very negative experience for my husband and I. The treatment center was horrible, full of rude staff, and relapse was everywhere. Money is all this company cares about, nothing else. He relapsed both at treatment and immediately after returning home.Getting ahold of the billing people in Tennessee (nowhere near the facility attended) is virtually impossible. I called and emailed several times about paying and it took days for someone to finally call me back. You would think they would want people to pay? When they finally called back the lady informed us that the already $30,000+ bill received was actually only 1 of 3 bills. The rest of the conversation was very unprofessional. They write your credit card information down on a piece of paper with address and everything and say they will put it in the system later. It took several minutes for her to get the information down correctly because they dont have a computer to input it into apparently. When I said I wasnt comfortable with my information just written on a piece of paper, the employee got angry and began lecturing me that this is our process. I have never heard of a process so unprofessional. Can you not enter information into the computer?I am very disappointed in this addiction center. The programs dont work, the people dont care, and the billing is disorganized chaos.

There is not enough to say about the poor treatment my daughter received here. First we are out 2000.00 for a 3.5 day stay. A consulting firm sets all these admissions up to a number of facilities across the country, you never speak directly to the facility yourself and this is virtually impossible! Secondly, my daughter is Type 1 Diabetic and wears an insulin pump which we were told was not a problem. She was hospitalized upon arrival due to high blood sugars immediately and remained in a hospital for 4 days, stabilized and released back to this facility. She was motivated and participated fully the short time there. Then on day 3 they abruptly pulled her out of a therapy session and told her she was discharged due to medical condition, basically 3-4 high blood sugars. Told to book a flight right then and basically get out. She pleaded to stay with no kindness or re assurance. I spoke to the Case Manager who promised to help find another place,....never happened! How these people sleep at night is beyond me. So my advice is do a lot of homework when choosing a facility if you have time.

The ladies name at the call center was Kristy and she walked me through everything patiently, describing where I would be going and a little bit about what to expect when I got there. I was truly a mess.she even called family members to explain some things at my request. I still give Kristy a call from time to time just to see how shes doing. Give never met her ,but maybe one day I will to thank her for getting me through that first step.without her I doubt I would have went to treatment.

Ive been to more than one American Addiction centers facilities. The facilities themselves are nice and they truly believe in what theyre doing. However, the call centers will lie to you to get you on the plane to get there. When you do they will take your ID and credit cards away and leave you stuck there even though youre voluntarily there. I have seen more than once when people have tried to leave there and Ive had to call the police to get their belongings back. Before you agree to go there or have a loved one go there, have them fax an agreement to you. The call centers are just like timeshare salesman. Dont let them take you too far from your home and if possible in a city or close proximity to where you have family that can look after you. Corporate folks do lie to you. The folks at the facility are awesome and they do care but again theyre there to make money.

I don’t even think a one star is warranted for our horrid experience with AAC. At a vulnerable and emotional time in our lives, we put our trust in them to direct a loved one to a treatment center. We were misled by AAC with regards to insurance verification and after an almost $2000 investment in deposits and travel expenses, our loved one was discharged after 5 days because insurance was not going to cover treatment. The treatment center had our loved one in their grasp in a fragile state and let him go without trying to figure out a treatment plan that would help to save him from a devastating disease. All AAC was willing to do was point fingers to the insurance carrier. The “team” at AAC that promised to do whatever necessary to get treatment in place abandoned us after they sold their services to us. Our hearts are heavy as we now are back where we started but in a more fragile state. Plus our trust level in the “addiction treatment” system has been compromised. AAC has done a dis-service to our family. Their sales team, however, can be commended in playing on our family’s emotions and trust to make a sale.

My family was planning an intervention for a family member. I was searching online for Christian alcohol recovery centers in the area. However, despite the search terms Christian recovery center alcohol, google does NOT list Christian centers. Taking God out of the process of recovery is not an option. In my search, I found an info article posted on AACs website re: locating Christian recovery centers. So I called their 888 number and I regret it.AAC is nothing but a corporation seeking to cash in big-time on addicts. They could not care less about the clients they are supposedly helping.I spoke with Drew, explaining that I was looking for referrals to Christian treatment centers for alcoholism in a certain region of the country. He immediately began asking questions, which at first I thought were intended to help connect my loved one with the right center. But the questions became too invasive; AAC certainly did not need to know the info they were asking for (unless they were admitting a client)—and I repeated the reason why I was calling. In retrospect, its abundantly clear that the phone staff is quickly sifting for clients who will immediately sign up and pay up--without AAC answering any questions. And they are happy to insult callers hoping that guilt might motivate them to hand over cash.Drew should have just explained at that point that AAC doesnt do referrals, that they are a chain of non-Christian recovery centers. No problem—Ill look elsewhere. Instead, he immediately began to try and sell me on why I needed to hire a professional interventionist. This family member already sees a psychiatrist; if we need a professional interventionist, well talk w/ her doctor.I asked what kind of training/qualifications a professional interventionist has—a legitimate question and concern that Drew refused to answer, only saying that the fee for this one was $2500. He also said that if I wasnt serious about the intervention, I was wasting their time. Btw, Drew was adamant that he only recommends one professional interventionist—which tells me that either its a totally bogus classification (any good therapist w/ experience in addiction recovery would be more than qualified to lead an intervention) and a $$ trap, or that the salesman doesnt believe in it, either. He followed that by saying that he had to protect (his term) his interventionist and if I wasnt taking this seriously, he wasnt going to provide any info about him. He also told me I was wrong when I said that ultimately, addicts have to *want* to end the addiction in order for a full recovery to be successful. When I wouldnt commit to paying AAC for services, he terminated the call, saying I was wasting their resources.Of course treatment centers need to turn a profit, or they cant offer good behavioral treatment. But Drew was rude and refused to answer basic questions. Even if I HAD been considering AAC for treatment, I NEVER would have sent a loved one there after this phone call.AAC has trained their staff for high-pressure sales. They wont even suggest any other resources to help addicts—because they couldnt care less about helping people. And they are happy to insult ppl who call w/ honest inquiries--if they think theres a chance of a check involved. Theyll use whatever underhanded techniques they can, with no compunction whatsoever. Not a trustworthy treatment option.

I wouldnt tell anyone not to get help for addiction. But AMERICAN ADDICTION CENTER IS PRIMARILY FOCUSED ON MAKING MONEY OFF OF YOU.I realized this when they persuaded my son to skip court and enter their rehab. They told him that he could legally skip court, if he was in rehab. They gave extremely bad legal advice; all for the sake of a sale. Now, my son has a bench warrant, and he has hurt his case severely. When the smoke clears, AAC will have made off with another $50K; and my son will have much more legal trouble than he had before.I spoke to AAC myself. Their intentions are pretty clear. They operate like a corporation because they are a corporation. The are selling help. I would hope that there is a better option out there for those who need it.

I worked at American Addiction Centers for a little over two years in the role of Treatment Consultant. I must say my work experience at AAC was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my professional career. I would also have to say that men in general are treated like dirt at AAC. I worked for a manager named Ashley Marshall who was immature, unprofessional and did her best to harass, threaten and intimidate me on every occasion presented to her. If you find yourself offered an opportunity to work for Ashley Marshall or Eraina Newman I would back out quickly. These are mean spirited, ugly people who will lie to your face, treat you with condescension and humiliate you every chance they get.

This company has performed a complete ambush on my town here in Murrieta California, they are taking over residential homes and causing the crime rate to rise, the housing prices have dropped and the city cant seem to do anything about regulating this company, from what Ive been told from a couple of clients who left the homes in my neighborhood is that they were being served cold food and having to sleep with packed rooms, one of the escaped clients told me directly that he had seen Illegal drug use taking place in this program, and that some of the counselors would leave at night when they were supposed to be supervising them. This company is a poor example of drug rehabilitation and its a shame that they are still in business after all the corruption and deaths that have accorded here In Murrieta California. My Experience with American Addiction Centers (San Diego) was one I will never forget and will always be grateful for. As an alcoholic that has also struggled with drug abuse, the love and support I found upon arrival was un parallel to anything I’ve experienced. I was apart of the inpatient program for 46 days that began in the latter part of February. I was greeted at the airport but a BHT by the name Ricardo. He kindly welcomed me with a big smile and a sign that had my name on it so there was no confusion. He shared his story with me as a good standing member of a respected 12 step program he participates in and that made me feel at ease that I wasn’t just another kid all screwed up that he was going to have to deal with for the next 30+ days because I know what’s at the heart of every 12 step program is Love and service to others. When we pulled into the driveway of the house itself where a I would be living I had a mix of emotions. After getting in and meeting some of the guys who were very welcoming and empathetic to being the “new guy” I started to feel a bit better. The whole place can be best described as a home where a divine spirt truly resides. I didn’t feel like just another face passing through the program. I felt like an integral part of the process we were all as residence and staff alike walking through together where my being present was just as inportant to the next persons recover was just as important as them to mine. The kitchen is the heart and soul of the operation where I found myself learning about service to others, accountability, responsibility and had some real tear jerking heart to hearts with Rechel who is also a very respected member of the recovery community. Nick coordinated my after care program and helped me get together a solid game plan and bent over backwards to help me find a safe, conducive environment for me to really excel in when I left AAC. Dave and Rob were essential in assisting me with computer access to build a resume and allowing me to come back and eat meals as I was getting on my feet in the real world. I can not say enough good things about this entire facility and program and every single member of the staff who all left me with a part of them. I continue to come back to visit with staff and new residents as this is a valuable part of my recover and serves as the anchor to my new home here in San Diego. Thank you so very much for the life saving experience. I love you guys with all my heart!!

If you or somebody you know has an addiction I strongly strongly suggest calling American Addiction Center.I called the number from the a TV commercial and the person on the other side told me they were from American Addiction Center and they could help me. Through a process of questions before I knew it I was on a plane from Florida to Las Vegas. Who would ever figured that Id go to Las Vegas to get sober.I ended up at Desert hope in Las Vegas. I spent 30 days there. In the beginning I thought to myself what in the world did I do and I wanted to go home. The staff actually sat down with me and listen to my concerns and one by one we were able to check each one of them off a list. That gave me the freedom  to focus on myself so I can actually learn to recover without any distractions. At that point I made the decision and surrendered to the process and trusted that they knew better than I did and I followed them and I listened. I had a counselor that help me work through grieving the loss of my mother and learned more about myself in that short time then I ever have.  The experience has given me the foundation that I needed to help me in the process of recovering.Today 22 months sober with the foundation of American Addiction Center and the 12-step program I have never been so happy, so content and free of this Obsession that was killing me. So I am very thankful. I am so blessed.

I had high hopes for this treatment center. Ive never been to a treatment center. I called AAC which is the parent company of the Oxford Treatment Center. I explained to the facility that substance abuse isnt my full issue. There are traumas that occurred in my life that I dont even remember and that I had developed coping skills that built over time and I get extremely depressed that I turn to substance abuse. They told me it is called dual diagnosis and they treat that, but they dont. What they actually do is medicate you and then only treat addiction and not the mental health side of it.I moved passed that. Im a full time student and full time employee. I was told I would be able to do homework when I got there but that was not the case. I needed to drop the class by a certain date so I didnt lose financial aid. I also needed to handle FMLA and Short Term Disability paperwork for my employer. I told someone multiple times multiple days. When it came to the final day everything had to be done the only reason it got done is because I became very aggressive. When i called the AAC they wanted me to come asap however I didnt have it in the budget to pay for a flight to and home on short notice. AAC told me if I pay the 250 admin fee my flights would be covered. They got me there but when it came to leaving they did not honor it and stated it isnt documented anywhere that was told to me.Your stuff is not safe. Ive had items stolen from my cabin, several people in our cabin had things stolen, and The Oxford Treatment Center refused to handle it or even let me or others call and file a police report. Communication and consistency is a big issue with this company. Every single person is offered an exit survey, I did not get one. When I asked about it they said they would have me do it but never allowed me to.The pictures of the beds and rooms is inaccurate. It is accurate for detox. You are only in detox for a few days and after that you are put in cabins that do not represent what the pictures show.Treatment should be about helping clear the person from stresses and focus on them so the patient can do it right, sadly this place adds stress when its not necessary.

Theytold me, no problem you can come here and there will be a $1,000 deductible. So far im ok with that and I go there. The treatment centerwas fine but after I got home and the bill started to come, they saidOh, since your insurance was out of network, you have a much biggermaximum out of pocket of $15,000 and we want it. If they hadbeen honest and upfront about that, I wouldnt have gone there. So, even though you may be not in the right mind, desperate, and nota insurance expert, beware if Aac tells you its ok to go there.
