I like the location in Valrico the best. Different strokes for different folks. The facilities are clean, and the employees are friendly.Furthermore, there is a website, JW.ORG.It shares timely encouragement about how to cope with lifes challenges now and on what God is going to do for the earth in the near future. Its non-political and family friendly.

Well-equipped facility, good instructors, however the ventilation system in the classroom needs to be cleaned up. The vents are dirty. In the time of COVID, this should be a priority for customers and employees protection. Thanks for your consideration with that matter.

Ryan at LA Fitness was fantastic. He is very personable and made me feel at home. I am new to working out regularly so LA Fitness was overwhelming at first. By the end of Ryans tour, I wanted to come back.

Always super clean and if you go around 2pm-4pm it’s nice and empty so you can have the entire gym to yourself!

I joined online for 23.99 (no money Down)and got hit with a 58.00 yearly fee and 32.99 convenience fee . When I called front office they told me that’s in fine/small print I must missed and only corporate can reverse those fees. Bad business practice.

I am never one to leave a bad review. But this place concerns me. I overheard the employees talking about being told to leave as many good reviews as they could because people kept complaining about the contract. I decided to see white people were complaining and inquired about canceling my membership. Turns out everything they told me when I signed up was really not true. I realized I was either stuck in this contract or I would be paying a lot of money to get out of it. Not to mention they seem to charge me for things that are ridiculous and I feel like I am paying way more than just their basic monthly rate. Now I am actually serious about canceling. But it might take a good lawyer haha

This is the worst gym I’ve ever been to. I just moved here and this gym was the closest to me. It is super lot of money and everything cost lot of money. I didn’t even sign up because at the desk were people yellingAt workers who were being mean. Then I read other reviews. I walked out before they could sign me up. I think there’s another gym close by that’s better.

So my wife and have been coming to this gym for 10 years now and well it has gone down. This place is dirty. Weights are left all over the place, nothing is put back , the staff does not do anything for putting the weights away. The best part of the place is it has all you need to get a good workout. They have a pool, sauna, free weights, nice new section for free motion training, racketball, basketball, spin classes and so on they have a juice bar and pretty much everything you need. But is is very crowded and just not worth the money you spend to be a member

I had heard so many rumors that this gym was a scam. I really didn’t believe them until I signed up myself. Their salesman will make the contract sound like it is nothing at all but it is impossible to escape. There are a bunch of hidden fees that they don’t mention and every time I bring them up they downplay them. They will say it is pretty easy to get out of the contract but the fine print has you locked in for a long long time with a huge cancellation fee.Even after doing what they asked me to to cancel they are still charging my account with all sorts of fees and my membership has still not been canceled. Overpriced and not worth the hassle of going through all the fine print of the contract. I guess it’s true, it’s a scam.

My name is Lazaro, I have been a member at la fitness for almost 15 years now and there has become a major constant problem at a large amount of your gyms, WET BASKETBALL FLOORS. I have seen these lead to major injuries at my previous club in Oviedo, FL and now consistently see this at the gym in Brandon, FL. It gets to the point that you cannot even walk on the court at half speed. When bringing it up to management the GM specifically, Ross. I was told that they really cannot do anything about it, even though there is a way to manually turn it on in the back and we have seen it immediately improve court conditions when this is done... I dont think the liability here is understood of grown men playing basketball on a wet slippery floor, people have stopped coming to this one specifically due to this and no REAL action has been carried out by management to solve the problem. The AC is constantly turning off or its power lowering to a point that humidity instantly causes the slippery floors. We are then told to not open the doors to the courts, but the only reason the doors need to be open is because of how hot it is in there. I seriously suggest that this issue is actually fixed, not some corporate response that never goes anywhere and just gets lost in emails.

Im a local pro fighter, and I always come to this LA Fitness when I need to cut a little more weight for my fights. The staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful. The new renovations are amazing!

I canceled a personal trainer 1 day after signing up for it (which they claimed you have 3 days to cancel). They didnt cancel it. I called back 2 business days later because I didnt get confirmation. Mike told me that I couldnt cancel because its been more than 3 days. The only reason I left 2 stars instead of 1 is because Michelle called me to start training and I told her that I canceled 1 day after signing up and she was a doll and canceled the service. Im gonna change my ratings to 3 stars for Michelle alone. You deserve it Michelle.

I usually go in the mornings and find the gym always clean and neat. I always see the janitor (it’s a lady I believe her name is Celeste) disinfecting and cleaning. Other than that the staff in general is very nice and always willing to help. :)

Pretty cool, and easily the best overall in town! Without getting into too much detail, locker room, pool and racquetball courts, plenty of freeweights, machines, etc, upstairs cardio, classes, cycling, snack bar Occupancy is pretty high in the freeweights area, at peak time. They have every angle of fitness covered!

Nice! Clean! They have a sizeable weightroom with a good variety of machines and freeweights, racquetball courts, pool, classes etc.

The gym itself is nice and the equipment is great. Ive been a member for several years. LA Fitness has the potential to be the top in class gym, but this Brandon location really misses the mark when it comes to cutting corners on petty and basic items like hand sanitizer and soap during a pandemic. This wasnt always the case until the past year or so, but the janitorial service has become horrible (with the exception of one lady during the day) especially in the late evenings the staff does not care. The guy is often playing on his phone or sitting around not doing anything. During a pandemic, hand sanitizer stations will go unfilled for weeks. The gym layout was tweaked again when it re-opened post-Covid shutdown. They took 3 of the old hand sanitizer stations (which had good sanitizer) away to install new ones that had stronger sanitizer at first. But what happened? They ran out! and were not replaced with the same thing. Whatever is in there now is NOT hand sanitizer, it has the smell of mildewed water. This is the same for the station up front that they claim is hand sanitizer. It was for about a month or so until it ran out and was replaced with the new solution. Paper towel stations will go unreplaced for a day or more, and one time I told 3 different staff that hand sanitizer was out and it still was not replaced. How can you tell 3 different people something and it is still not done?! There is only one station in the gym that has true hand sanitizer with alcohol content in the middle left side of the gym near the bike room where classes are. This runs out very quick and is very slow to be replaced. After it gets replaced a couple times they will be out of it for weeks. The soap in the bathrooms was watered down at one point to the point that it dispensed like water. I said something and this was corrected but the sanitizer remains an ongoing issue, and it has to be brought to the staffs attention repeatedly. Whoever coordinates the ordering and the direction of the janitorial staff is not on top of things. The gym should be well stocked with real hand sanitizer during these Covid pandemic times, so that it does not run out every 1-2 weeks and take another 1-2 weeks to get more and refill it. There should be some basic procedures that janitorial staff follows, every station should be checked by every shift. There is no valid reason for something to get missed for 8 days. I feel like this is a management thing. I have never been able to speak with a manager but each time you call, whoever is at the front desk answers will tell you that theyre a manager. The sanitizer and formula to clean the equipment is important to me because hygiene can be lacking at the gym. Unfortunately not everyone cleans the equipment after they use it. Apologies for being a bit blunt and gross, but if you do not wipe the equipment down with alcohol based sanitizer and strong formula, you will sit in other peoples butt sweat which is nasty, and you will notice it when you change. The staff does not clean the equipment at night like other LA Fitness locations do. People will also sit on equipment for 10 minutes at times preventing other people from using it or forcing you to ask if they are actually using the equipment. To me, you come in to work out not to sit and play on your phone or take up a piece of equipment for over 10 mins. Other locations do not run out of items and take so long to restock them either. Otherwise, as mentioned before the equipment and gym itself is top notch. I really miss the man and woman janitorial crew that used to be there a couple years back, they were top notch as well. These complaints may seem minor, but during a pandemic will definitely dissuade some folks from attending.

They fixed the carabiners after a fews weeks but they still arent open their normal hours so it is always crowded and difficult to find available equipment

Lady at front desk needs to be fired immediately. She is the rudest person I have ever encountered in my life.

This location is great! The customer service was great! We were greeted like long lost friends. The place was clean and well kept. If I lived in the area I would make it my home gym. Thanks Jeremi and Mike for getting us signed up and answering whatever questions we had.

I only use the pool and its great. My daughter uses the machines and loves them.

Staff on some days is nice and acomadating. On other weekends we visit in Tampa they act lost and as if a day pass is a inconvenience. Interesting people watching for sure

It must be a fantastic place to work. I would love a job (operations manager) that allowed me to not fix damaged equipment for weeks on end. Does she use this gym? 50% of the rowing machines are broken. The remaining one is over 10 years old. Need more accountability here. I honestly hate complaining but Ive put in a help ticket at the front desk nearly every week for the full year that Ive been coming to this gym.

By far our best gym experience out of many. Allison was truly AMAZING in getting us started and familiar with the facility. Truly an awesome asset to your team! We have 2 other gym memberships that we keep for various reasons, but none compare to the experience at your facility. Earlier weekend hours would be our only suggestion. People line up at your doors at 8am on a Sunday we would love earlier start times to our day

We need longer hours on the weekends. After working long hours during the week I prefer to come on the weekends but later in the evening. Precovid it was open until 8pm and now that everything is opening up it shouldn’t matter being open past 6pm. I am going to have to move to another gym if we can’t open back up.

This is a nice LA Fitness. They have a good turf area setup. Nice impact floors set for deadlifts, cleans etc. Great gym

The gym itself is nice but the distance to get here is very far. There is nothing like this in Apollo beach and we need better options here. La Fitness needs to open a location in Apollo beach there is enough population and money in that population to fill a gym down here. I cannot come as often as I would and might have to cancel my membership because the 30 minute commute to Brandon and back is very difficult. My only other suggestion is to get more staff in the kids club. I love the kids club but one of the folks she only speaks Spanish and this is great but we need English also I would love to speak Spanish but am not fluent enough to talk to her when I leave her my children. There needs to be more staff for infants my husband and I have to take turns watching the baby inside the kids club because there’s no one to watch our 11 month old and it can be pretty fun in there lots of running but also dangerous for a crawling baby. Some rough edges with commute and the kids club but I do appreciate LA fitness and coming here but sadly I am thinking about cancellation of the membership because the distance is too far. We really need a LA fitness in Apollo beach!

La Fitness very informative on my visit. The staff took the time to show me around and are very knowledgeable. I’d definitely visit again and recommend for those who want to go to have a great gym experience!

For a big box gym I actually like this place. My kids love the kids club. There are always enough machines. The place doesnt seem too dirty. Ive never attended a class, but they have a good selection. They are getting a new functional area soon soon which will enhance the experience.

The new manager Nicole DeBord is awesome and this club and staff reflect it.Friendly, very helpful and total professional.I have been a member at this gym in the past...the manager was a mess and the club reflected his lack of professionalism. It is a new day at Brandon LA Fitness. the gym is large and well maintained.... a great value for the money.Well done LA Fitness and Nicole.

Just finished a year of personal training w Brandon R. Had more questions and came in on an off day. A pretty new guy, Eric J came right up to me and asked if I needed any help. Friendly, knowledgeable and gave me very helpful guidance for a new routine I was interested in starting.

Outstanding place to work out, regardless of fitness level. Good value at a great price. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable, which I find is rare. My Brother loves this place and says hell never contract with any other fitness club-business ever. I have only gone there as his guest. Wish there was one near Myrtle Beach, where I go to school. It is the Ruths Chris of Fitness clubs. The best gift anyone could get or give for Christmas is a membership to LA Fitness. v/r JK

Originally rated a 3 star a year ago I changed my rating to a 4 star because I have noticed an overall change at this center. Renovations, new layout, and new equipment is what made me increase my rating. There is still more to be fixed, like the restroom and possibly extending the daycare, but overall a great gym.

Trainer Rachel is the best. She encourages us throughout the training. Keeping a check on our progress while adjusting based on our individual needs. Clean facilities with convenient hours.

Newly impressive and renovated LA Fitness. They are definitely on top of their game with the most updated equipments including a sled!!! Snd Eric had been extremely helpful and understanding! He has great customer service skills.

Nice facility but all of the bathroom doors stalls are locked, including the handicap stall. It’s right before closing time and you can see that the locked stalls have been recently been cleaned. It’s unprofessional that the staff are taking these measures so they can leave early but this also violates the American with Disabilities Act which states that businesses have to provide reasonable accommodation to all disabled customers, clients, and members of the public.

If youre concerned about COVID-19 protocols being followed, then I would avoid this location. Masks are required to enter, but almost no one was wearing one while working out.

Clean place really nice to find .. NEW EQUIPMENT

After coming home from a deployment, my first task was to throw plates and eat plates. I looked up nearby gyms and walked into this location hoping for a day pass. The front desk and Luke (I think that was his name) squared me away with no long-winded sales pitch or pressure and boom, got my long awaited rejuvenation.Although Im not from there, Ill be recommending this location to my peers and comrades who reside in the TB area.

Great staff soon as I walked in the door. Especially Eric he’s very professional with a deep scope of knowledge about LA Fitness and fitness in general. I would recommend this facility and all the tools offered for anyone’s fitness program.

I am about to cancel my membership. Where the heck did Yoga classes go? Why haven’t they been restored? I am fed up with this nonsense. If Yoga is not back in schedule every day as it should by July: Goodbye LA 👋 , see you in the next lifetime (if you are still around)

Excellent place to work out. Lots of room. Love the 5 racquetball courts and the racquetball leagues. Very spacious gym and never crowded. Ron was an awesome guy. Location is perfect with ample parking.

Great overall, place is always packed no matter what time you go. Not necessarily a bad thing, dont know why people always complain about this, other people want to work out and get in shape to. This is by far the best la fitness gym. The staff personnel are very nice and professional. I have been a member for 2 months and I have been to numerous locations in Tampa area. I reccomend this location.

Deceiving sales practices and unauthorized charges, unethical business practices, hidden fees charged at later days after enrollment, and I am not referring to annual fee. Erick should not be working there as a representative. Team be the nicest while selling you and you will experience a 360 turn around when asking for customer support. Left message for GM and never returned the call!

Deceiving and unethical sales practices, false advertising, surprise funny charges and when you call to ask Erick offered to cancel me for an extra charge not even looking at the screen to try to see if there was a mistake. This will be reported to the federal trade commission and to the consumer affairs protection department as Im sure Im not the only one.

Is a great place to work out.

Awesome gym full of amenities like a pool, sauna, locker rooms, protein bar and energy drink machines, and a smoothie bar. There is plenty of equipment, all in solid condition. If anything ever does break, it seems like it’s usually fixed within a day or two. I have never had an issue getting in there and doing the workout that I want to get done, even when it’s crowded. Thanks to the staff for being friendly and thanks especially to the sales manager, Ron.

Gets ridiculous crowded in the afternoons/early evenings, you will have to improvise your workout often if you go between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. No kettle balls available to public, and better equipment, materials, and space are reserved for personal training sessions. I did notice some of the trainers instructing on generic exercises but not correcting improper body mechanics and form. The new remodel has reduced the space for stretching and mat work. Machines (stair master, oblique/ab equipment) used to be broken or unavailable often but I did notice improvements in that within the last couple months. I also enjoyed the saunna, but bathrooms need a little work sometimes. Front desk people and janitorial staff are very nice, and the managers are pretty straight forward and cool. Some of the personal trainers and staff on the floor dont know how to read their clientele. Not everyone wants your help, and trying to save multiple machines at once isnt fair to other members trying to use them (blonde guy with glasses). They can be very persistent sometimes, but i get it, a job is a job. Many of the members do not clean the machines and can hog them at times. They can work on cleaning the mats and the equipment more often (paper towels are often left on machines and/or around them and there is a coat of dirt on the mats). You can find a better deal at other gyms. Happy my membership is done.

Being honest, the staff could use some customer service training, starting with the manager. One thing you should never tell your customer dealing with a problem is “I was supposed to be gone 45 minutes ago to take my girlfriend to dinner.”We actually have a choice where we spend our money, you might want to consider that.The facility is definitely packed and seems a bit pretentious but there are still times you should be able to get in a good workout. The facility seems clean overall.

I attend group classes 5x a week this is now the third week that the group class room has not been cleaned. There are several particles on the floor that has been there each week. I spoke to someone at the front about it and they stated they had a new cleaning crew and will be cleaning the room daily (lies)but it is still not being clean. Very disappointed especially with what is going on during this time. It doesnt take much to sweep and mop the floor.

Im not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I come here to workout, and thats it. This place has all the weights and machines you will ever need to change your body for the best. If youre looking to workout and have all the equipment you need, this is the place for you. If you want a spa like experience, this is not the place for you.Happy lifting! :)

This gym is awesome. You have to be strong BEFORE you go in though and if you deal with sales staff properly then you can negotiate a deal (they seem to have a lot of leeway when it comes to pricing). ***BUT*** be careful of the training contracts, they will get you to try one and the next thing you know youll be signed up for a year. The trainers are really good and friendly and worth it, but the contracts can be a little tricky if you dont actually read them.

Great club and is worth going and being apart of the club because u get a full pool, a workout area ton of equipment to get your body bigger and healthier .

Super disappointed with the management.Personal training is a real waste of money, never bothered to respond for concerns. Talked and motivated to join the personal training with high expectations but never kept promise in terms of results or progress.very poor management.I will never recommend any of my friends or family ones to join.

Super awesome gym! I dont understand what everyone else was complaining about, but they all have treated me great. The people in front always greet me and chat with me, and when I signed up the sales guys were really cool, and they still talk to me when I come to workout. Hell, I even had a training dude give me a complimentary hour long session! I love this place and it absolutely trumps the other gyms in the area.

Lady at the front desk is very rude always has an attitude and not very professional the manager is a total idiot. I go in there to train all the time and i overheard conversations with other members lady at front desk is just rude and the manager has no idea how to do his job I mean the equipment is nice I love the treadmills and swimming but the staff is grade F the only staff members there that show respect are the Hispanic kid who checks you in he is very respectful Steven he is also really respectful and listens to concerns and G also a very good staff member along with Nick who is very professional and skilled and maybe a few more but the rest are total idiots

Some elliptical machines are in disrepair, lockers are small with locks left on many and others broken. Shower and restroom area is pretty gross and needs to be updated in a bad way. House music and ads are played too loud.. people have their own headsets on and dont need the bleed through.

So far so good, gym is up an running.

I was intimidated by going into the gym at first since it’s been over a year since I last worked out but the salesperson Brian was very kind and took the time to explain their programs and benefits of all the different options! I joined last week and I plan on making LA Fitness my home for a very long time.The only downside to this gym is it Gets very busy during 5-7 pm - If you don’t like a busy gym I would recommend missing that time.
