My Mom had an appointment today at 3:30pm. She is not very good with electronics; so, my husband noticed she had a voicemail from them. In the voicemail it said that they were moving the appointment from face-to-face to over the phone because the doctor was exposed with COVID; therefore, he was quarantining. My husband notified me of this change during my lunch break at work (as I am a teacher). So, I drove straight home to do the appointment with my Mom over the phone. We were sitting at the phone a few minutes before 3:30. When the clock reached 3:32 I called. I sat on hold for awhile. When finally someone did pick up they said the nurse called earlier and since no one picked up they cancelled the appointment with the doctor. I asked when she called. I looked through my Moms phone history, and it was at 2:13pm. That is an hour and 17 minutes prior to the appointment. I asked again, so the doctor is not there for the 3:30pm appointment as scheduled, and they said no. They told me the nurse calls an hour ahead of time, and if no one picks up they automatically cancel the appointment. Well, she called even before that. Who is sitting by their phone all day, and if you dont pick up your appointment is cancelled? I made this appointment for my Mom at the beginning of June. We have been waiting almost 2 months! Im doing four loads of urine filled laundry a day for my Mom, and the doctor just cancelled the appointment! Her last appointment was in June over the phone. We were on vacation, and they called over 4 hours early. I called back thinking they were trying to reschedule it. This office has no clue of appointment times at all. If your appointment is at 3:30, you are not planning to have the appointment at 2:13. Im very frustrated, upset, and disgusted. This doctor is definitely taking advantage of COVID, and having over the phone appointments. The nurses are calling at non-appointment times, and when the patient doesnt pick up they cancel the appointment and claim you didnt pick up (even though they didnt call at the designated appointment time)!

One day I was in the ER, unable to void my bladder. The next day I was in the office of Dr. Bryan Allen, MD. He asked many questions and assured me he would do whatever was needed to restore me to good health. He outlined the process on a piece of paper so I could understand it clearly. He suggested the prostate needed to be cleared by a green light laser. Over the next few weeks I there were a series of tests and then the laser operation and an overnight hospital stay. I have recovered 100% and feel like a 40 year old, but I am 75. I can sleep 8 hours without needing to go to the bathroom. I am able to enjoy all the activities here in Florida. I had 100% confidence in Dr. Allen from the moment we met and even more now that all went as well as he said it would.

I wanted to essentially rave about Dr. Bryan Allen! As I just got diagnosed with prostate cancer I was and am a little scared. Being a pharmacist and doctor myself I know enough to terrify myself, but consequently not enough. So hence, in steps Dr. Allen; a young (I thought he was a student and almost asked him to get the doctor) but don’t let that fool you! He is very very professional with a kindness that transcends his years! Let me just say, “he knows his stuff backwards and forwards”, essentially this doctor is a doctor’s doctor! Fortunately, I was lucky enough to have found him. He thoroughly explained all my options and put my mind at ease. You’ll absolutely love and respect him if your lucky enough to have him in your corner!Sincerely and with great admiration,Dr. Allen Karpe
