I am a doctor. My mother was assigned here for post surgical rehab. She is on oxygen 24/7. The machine they provided broke. Took them 5HOURS to respond and bring a new one. 5HOURS without adequate O2!!!! She is on many other meds as well. Quite a few were never given to her. She would request the meds multiple times per day. Just kept giving excuses as to why she wasn’t getting her meds.Mom accidentally spilled a glass of water on the floor (she uses a Walker and is recovering from surgery). She asked the nurse for assistance cleaning up the spill. Nurse got severely agitated, raised her voice, and left without ever helping my elderly mother clean up the water. Therefore my Mom had to use her bed sheets to clean up the spill. She then went ALL NIGHT without linens.I understand that nurses in general are overworked, but this is unacceptable. I ended up personally traveling to the nursing home and checking my mother out. Everyone has bad days (doctors and nurses included), but this was not right.

Mom was checked in here for a round of rehabilitation. From the moment the hospital discharged her to this hostility-facility the treatment was prison-like. They only had enough staff on hand to admit her in the middle of the night, 3:00 am. Once admitted, the location was so understaffed that medications were routinely missed and nurse call buttons flagrantly ignored for up to 2 hours. When informing the staff that they were over an hour late, my mom was told to just relieve herself in the bed. Not that the nursing staff would understand what it is that my mom actually needed since many of them barely speak English. When my mother insisted the nurses slow down to her impaired rate of walking, they’d get angry with her and cuss at her under their breath. It’s clear that the only staff unfortunate enough to still keep jobs here are doing so because they have no other options due to their poor English and patience skills. The neglect my mother experienced is appalling! My opinion? Avoid putting your parents or yourself in this facility at all costs. Only 3 days in to a 3 week stay, dad and I pulled her from this facility on the threat of unlawful imprisonment charges. Who’s to blame?? The board of directors of ManorCare. If you want good help you have to pay for it, and it’s clear from ManorCar Health’s payroll budget, they don’t care to pay for much of anything.

I have never seen a healthcare facility as unprofessional as Manor Care Boynton Beach. My stepfather was a resident for rehabilitation from mid March till yesterday. For a good part of the time the phones were completely down. When they were working just getting through to a nurse or social worker to discuss my stepfathers care was almost impossible. He was transferred to assisted living yesterday with a grade three wound. The was no access to my stepfather even though I’m his next of kin and power of attorney. I’m aware that there was limited access due to the pandemic but two weeks ago the CDC relaxed the rules about visitation. I guess Manor Care doesn’t follow CDC recommendations. If I could give zero stars I would. Don’t send your loved ones to this terrible place

If I could give a 0 rating, I would. This place is far from being professionally run. The staff is rude and give you the runaround in the rare instance someone at the facility actually answers the phone. Every one is quick to transfer you to someone else and if you ask the person youre speaking with for their name, they ignore the question and transfer you even quicker. The staff is also full of liars. Ive made numerous attempts to schedule an appointment to visit my brother to no avail. I received a call from someone regarding payments and was told that I havent scheduled an apoinment yet because I indicated Im not available. Obviously this isnt true as no one has answered the phone for this conversation to happen. Also, I received a call from somone else advising my brother now has a swollen face. On this same call, I heard someone in the background saying make sure you dont family what happened to the patient! This is concerning as the way this place is being run is very telling as to what type of care the patients may be receiving.

Warning!!! My mother was recently at the facility in Boynton Beach Florida. It is a dangerous dangerous place with unskilled employees. She would be left alone anywhere from three to six hours. One nurse threw her medication at her from across the room. She would hit the alert button and nobody would show up. One night I was on the phone with the police to have them go out and check on her because nobody had answered her alert button for four hours. Finally someone came into the room. What if she had had an accident or been hurt laying on the floor? I’m going to be contacting her insurance company and anyone else I can to make sure that this company is taken off the list of any skilled nursing facility list. Whatever you have to do beware do not send your parents to these facilities!

My mom went into this facility. She was delusional. They failed to check for a Urinary tract infection. Finally after 10 days, they did and it was positive. My mom complained it was dirty and nurses never came to take her to the rest room..... The phone system is awful. It rings for 5 minutes straight and when the receptionist finally answers, she rushes you, is rude and never acknowledges that a human is on the other end. No please, thank you, hold on a moment... You should change your phone system to an automated one, so noone has to wait until your incompetent receptionist answers. You also need that on the weekends as the nurses answer the phone, which is utterly off the wall. Hopefully my mom comes out of here normal... She will never come back to this facility. It is a disgrace. Ombudsman would close you down. Straighten yourself out before that happens.

When told that my insulin was NOT being done correctly, I was ignored and told that I do not know what I’m talking about!! They even had the nerve to put me in a diaper when I have full control of my bowels and I’m wearing a Foley catheter so I can’t pee all over the floor unless it clogs up again!! I wouldn’t give this facility 1 star but in order for me to post, I had to give 1. Truthfully, your facility deserves MUCH attention for your unprofessional and evil ways. How do you state on your website that you care for our loved ones yet you do not aid them properly? How do you hire staff that are so self-centered that they would place a good tray several feet away from a bed ridden patient and then leave? How do you tell a patient’s family that the reason your phones don’t work mis because your system is 30 years old? Who’s fault is that? The patient? What happens when there is an emergency? Your facility should be shut down and all monies paid refunded to the patients and their families. You are a disgrace to the Health field.

I cannot stress enough how happy my husband and I are with the amount of care that my Mother in Law received and has been receiving from the staff and management. They have treated my mother in law like their own family. Jocelyn C. (Who is the daytime aid) and Vestra C. (The PM aid) are beyond words super caring and attentive. Loving care with a smile is always what greets my mother in law. And then there is Pasquale (from admission) and Julia (the nurse) has always been so attentive and patient with all our questions and had not left us hanging whenever we need questions answered regarding my Mother In Law’s care and next steps. I love this place and team. If you ever need a place to send your loved ones for rehabilitation care, then this is the best place to bring them too. You will NOT be disappointed.

My mom has been a permanent resident since April 2017. The staff are wonderful: warm, patient, and attentive. I have not come across one staff member who has ever been curt. They really feel like family, which is the most important quality one would want in a nursing home and the reason for the 5 stars. The facilities are basic, but clean, and the food is good. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. I do hope they pave the parking area in the near future. Also, buzzing in and out sometimes goes over the attention of staff; I understand they are very busy, but there needs to be a more efficient manner to enter and exit.

I have been quite pleased with the care that Manorcare provided my dad post-hip fracture. I am a physician and I certainly was concerned about the myriad of poor reviews. To my surprise, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful both to my dad (and to me when I called for information). From the nurses, nursing assistants to the case manager (Ginger) I found them to be caring. For example, I walked up to Brandon (an RN) and asked if he would walk with my dad one Saturday evening. He was busy doing an admission but was more than happy to help out with a smile on his face when he had finished. (BTW, I did not notify anyone that I was a physician so my dads treatment was not affected by that fact). Hey, theyre not perfect but they do try.

They almost killed my mother! she had to return back to the hospital due to the poor assessment skills the nurses have. Never once did they listen to her lungs. She came out of the hospital with a new diagnosis of congestive heart failure and MI. So you would think the nurse would monitor her cardiac status. I complained every day to the supervisor regarding the lack of nursing care and knowledge that the staff had. I can’t believe they even called themself nurses. They had no commonsense. When she was having respiratory and cardiac issues it took them a long time to answer the call bell. My Mom ended up passing away of brain cancer after staying in Manor Care for months. Told she had a stroke by JFK hospital released to Manor Care. After her insurance would not pay any longer she was released from Manor Care. She became worse and I took her to the ER in Miami and they diagnosed glioblastoma. She was in and out of JFK and Manor Care from February 1, 2015 until April 23, 2015. She had many CTs, MRIs. She was at my home having out patient therapy while her condition was declining rapidly. Baptist Hospital in Miami diagnosed her with Glioblastoma on June 22, 2015 and she passed away on July 18,2015. I constantly asked to see the doctor at Manor Care and voiced my concerns to the staff. For months trying to force my Mom to recover from a stroke she did not have was a waste. She could have been treated for Glioblastoma and maybe had a better quality of life. Or she could still be here. I know someone who was diagnosed with Glioblastoma five years ago and is still living. When a patient is not making progress, is depressed, and showing signs of increasing dementia look for the problem. My mom was too young for all the problems she was having. She was having them because she had brain cancer and it should have been an easy diagnosis.
