Meh. There are pros and cons to this location. I come here because it’s closest to my home but when I am up for it, I will drive elsewhere. Not my ideal choice of location otherwise.PROS:•the member pool here is considerate. In general, everyone shares space and equipment well, and is friendly. Non-judgmental people. Some have even helped me.•Locker rooms are always clean. I don’t use the showers but never seen/smelled anything off putting.•Lots of cardio equipment, and it’s on a different level. So that also creates another space for me to do stretching and floor exercises as there isn’t much space for that on the main gym floor.CONS:•Machines are broken, been broke and clearly will stay broke. At this point they should just move them off the floor because the promise to fix them ain’t gone happen.•The machines that do work, have terribly worn down padding. Like actually holes in the pads at this point. SMH. Padding can be replaced without replacing the whole machine. Poor maintenance of equipment.•Staff? What staff? I have never been greeted once here. Not by management, front desk, trainers, no one! Honestly I don’t even know why I pay for membership when you can just walk right in. They don’t even check to see what I scanned. It could be someone else’s account. Maybe I will not pay and still go. Won’t even notice.•Not once have I seen anyone from staff doing any cleaning of the machines. This place is always full of people and no one cleans. Seriously. In general you should clean up after yourself but I take extra precautions here.Meh. It’s convenient so I come. Otherwise they couldn’t have my money. Those are the facts.

This place need to be shut down asap…. The basketball is the worst… the floor is bad that one of the dudes twisted his ankle just because they refuse to fix the floor…. Instead of trying to fix it, they take the rim down. We still cant play half court because the floor slippery… so slippery u cant even drive to make a layup even if nobody is guarding u….. this is a ongoing thing…. Save your time and money dont go to that location.. i wish i can give that location a zero star

They have no idea what Customer service is and they have no respect.They don’t tell you what to expect when it comes to fees and charges when you start a membership.A lot of hidden fees and very poor communication.I feel I’m treated not fairly especially from Dillon.Very disappointed.Ps 1 star is very generous for such a place.

Nergize girls are great. My issue I the punching bags, move them so they can be used when there are dance classes.I dont like feeling like a nuisance at a place where I pay for the accommodation . Also all the dance and yoga teachers are mad rude about leaving , everytime. Like they get pleasure from it. The male teacher is dope. There is plenty of space to move the classes or the bags . Doesnt take a rocket scientist. Employees are great, and the equipment is always broken thats true. But theres only one teenage custodian to fix em. Lol he is doing his best the corporation just doesnt want to hire a full time maintenance crew.

Everything in this gym needs to be replaced. Machines are old rusty and all padding is worn off to the metal. If a machine beaks don’t ever expect it to be repaired. Same equipment has had the same notes for repairs for years. It smells like urine down some aisles. Half the cardio equipment doesn’t work. What does work is rusty and makes horrible noises while in use. Not one parking lot light works. I fear for women guests walking to their cars and cars being broken into.

Normally, I only write reviews for places when I have a positive experience but Im hoping the owner will realize this gym is in serious disrepair. I go here almost every day but I will be going to the one in boca from now on. The same machines that are out of service have been so since I joined over a year ago. Theres maybe one girl at reception who will acknowledge you when you walk in. The rest are on their phones and dont look up. My main beef is with the machines that have not been maintained and are out of service. They are EVERYWHERE!!!

I thought about switching gyms because I went here when they had first opened and my friends workout here. . . Damm this place is rundown. All the money they make here its obvious they dont put it back into the gym I was super disappointed their was even just random trash on the floor everywhere.

Do not sign up for their personal fitness training. The people there literally scam you into signing a contract and make it seem like you can cancel so easily when that is not true at all. They do not tell you what options you have and purposely sign you up for the most expensive program. In order for me to cancel they are saying that I owe more than 700$ which is absolutely ridiculous. They are not trustworthy and do not care about you, they just look at you as a source of income.

This gym is the most un organized and un sanitized gym they have about 10 people working & none is doing their job half are on there phones or with their kids they bring to work (free money), weights are EVERYWHERE on the floor when you come back the next morning at 5 am the weights are still on the floor and machines are not wiped down. It smells like A** in there and half of the machines need repair . They charge you 30 because the pool although it’s never cleaned or sanitized . Go if your dirty !

LA fitness is the only gym to join in south Florida.Huge corporation with accountability and great customer service. Your money is important do not entrust it to inferior gyms such as Athletica. Awful gym on all levels and the owners are horrific. LA fitness has corporate headquarters. CEO’s & CFO’s to protect YOU. Risk is what you want to avoid always.

Personal trainers are very professional and nice people machines are due for an upgrade and some are even broker and show holes on the leather.

Just joined and the place is clean, most machines are fine. A couple of them need the peg to set the weight. Also, dont need to wear a mask and they have staff with the spray bottles cleaning up.Sasha at the front desk is switched on. She is like the center of the network there and knows what to do and always with a smile!

What a dump. Haven’t been here in years. Stopped Bc it was closer to my house. Mistake. First 3 machines I went to, cable machines had no clips for grips. Second machine had no pin to set the weight. Third machine the grips were ripped and torn. Poorly lubricated machines. Carpets stained and dirty. Does anyone give a f? Only got 2 stars because you have weights. 🤦‍♂️

I have been to probably 9 or 10 different LA fitness clubs in south florida, and this one is by far the worst. It is the dirtiest, least maintained, most understaffed club in all of south florida. The sauna has had the same trash under the benches for weeks, the dumbell racks are always empty, the showers and locker rooms are disgusting and never properly cleaned. 25% of the equipment is broken and unusable at any given time, and another 25% of the equipment is worn out, rickety, close to breaking, or just dangerous to use. For example, there are around 20 or so treadmills upstairs. 5 of them are broken and completely unusable. Of the remaining 15, 7 of them are rickety and loud or they do this infuriating thing where the belt slips forward sometimes when you take a step, making me feel like im about to break my neck. The staff is very rude and uninviting, and the pool and hot tub are only usable 2 weeks out of every month. I like LA fitnesss clubs, but if youre going to get a membership with them, do NOT come to this location, it is complete garbage.

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP WITH THEM! They make it easy for u to sign up then a whole Unnecessary process to cancel membership. They are going to start by telling you it’s $30 every month and then charge you about $40 for an annual fee that we don’t even know why we are getting charge for it. It’s a whole scam! The people are rude ! I’m so unhappy with my experience with them! I just don’t understand how you can sign upFor the membership over the phone and give you a credit card in all your information but you had to cancel you have to go through a bunch of paperwork!End it won’t stop charging your card and until they received the paperwork! Doesn’t matter if u come or not ! Anyways no that it’s not worth it !

After 7 years of working out 4 times a week at commercial gyms I can confirm this is the worst gym I have ever been to.Just read the comments. Proof is in the pudding. Rotting equipment, so dirty, no room, no organization.This place is an embarrassment to capitalism, do yourself a favor and steer clear.

No wifi for at least 4 months Ive said something multiple times. It smells terrible and leaving the pool area open makes it way worst. the equipment is outdated and broken, theres only 3 stair masters. Its so dirty and they have no staff cleaning. We couldnt get our fat percentage checked because only one person can do it and only at 4pm

I have been an LA Fitness member on and off for over 10 years, visiting locations in 5 different states regularly. I’ve competed in bodybuilding at a national level, and despite having inadequate facilities, frequently broken equipment (taking months to fix), and poor upkeep, I still continued to pay for premium memberships for my entire family as they monopolized the commercial gym market in many areas.What finally pushed me away was an extreme negligence in the Kids Klub at this location. I pay monthly for all 3 of my children to use this service while my wife and I workout for the only free 60 minutes we have in a day. Recently, my 22 month old son was being pushed around and spun in an adult sized computer chair in the Kids Klub by other children while the staff member in charge was watching videos on her phone. My son flew off the chair and hit his head in two spots on the floor, leaving large red lumps. My other two children (6 and 8 years old) tried to leave the Kids Klub to come get me and tell me what happened while my son screamed uncontrollably. The staff member would not let them leave to get me, nor did she notify me of what happened. By the time I picked the kids up, it was about 20 minutes after the incident, and my older children came running to inform me what happened. While shocked at the negligence, I immediately left to take my son to a local urgent care.I tried to reach a manager to formally complain for over 24 hours with no success. Finally I was able to speak to one who was absolutely no help. They said I should be hearing from the “supervisor” tomorrow, which I don’t anticipate happening. I will no longer pay for my membership for this company at any location, and I strongly suggest to do your diligence when leaving your children, because the staff has absolutely no training or instruction to monitor kids while they play in the kids Klub.

Not enough equipment to get anything done. Hardly any machines with cables. You always have to wait. Most of the equipment is old. Many machines have notes on them that the machine is temporarily not working.This la fitness needs a makeover! To pay a high yearly price for a dump like this, makes me want to get my money back.

The staff at boyton beach location are professional. They have a great team. Sanitation is at its best. Special mention to Tasha she is professional and knows her job. She is friendly and knowledgeable. She helped transition to silver sneakers her help is invaluable. John who is the head trainer assisted me when I had a problem with another trainer, who was very rude. John handled the matter professionally. Thank you everyone at boyton makes a difference.

Terrible gym. They don’t take care of anything. The staff is terrible. The lady behind the juice bar had her kid with her & started screaming at her for the whole gym to hear while she was taking care of someone. The girl at the front desk was on her phone so I purposefully just didn’t check in & she didn’t even notice. No hello. None of the weights are organized, & the equipment seems like it’s still here from when Schwarzenegger was training for his first building competition.Until crunch opens, I won’t be working out at this location.

The staffs are nice and try to keep the gym as clean as possible . A lot of the cardio equipments are broken and very rusted and doesn’t work. It’s disappointing since this is the closes location.

One of the dirtiest unmaintained clubs probably in South Florida. They don’t maintain any of the equipment so you can’t go 5ft without “out of service” or broken pads or even racks to hold the weights that are about to fall over cause the feet aren’t even. I’ve told multiple employees about the same broken machines that they will “tell the manager” and 2 weeks go buy and nothing has been done to the machine. I won’t go back to this club.

I have a membership here and go to multiple locations in the Palm Beach County area. This location by far is super GHETTO. On top of that, they will try to sell you overpriced packages at every chance and even call you to try to get you to buy more. The manager seems like she just lets the workers do as they please. Definitely go to another location if you care about decent service.

I cancelled my membership because this LA Fitness was tripping at 2290 N. Congress Ave. Boynton Beach, Fl. I didn’t want to cancel but I had to, to stay alive and protect my family. After self quarantining for about three months as things started to reopen I decided to visit my gym LA fitness. I could not believe my eyes when I walked into the gym, no one was wearing a mask, they were not checking temperatures, there was no social distancing; as a matter of fact people were congregating like at a club. I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes. I asked the manager Alyssa why wasn’t anyone wearing a mask and she said it was optional. I left the gym and went back a few days later and canceled my account. When I return to cancel my account I saw that again no one was taking temperatures, no one was wearing a mask, no one was social distancing. While I was canceling my account the manager Alyssa proceeded to tell me that other businesses were not requiring mask and not caring as well. I couldn’t believe what she was saying, it’s basically oh well, we’re just doing what others are doing. Sad thing is I like this LA fitness and wanted to go back to working out, but I can’t risk my life and others lives. I have friends who go to other LA fitness in Fort Lauderdale and other places and they told me that their LA fitness are checking temperatures, requiring mask, and practicing social distancing. It seems the only LA fitness that has completely dropped the ball is this LA fitness in Boynton Beach. Shame on LA fitness in Boynton (2290 N. Congress Ave) shame on Alyssa the manager who didn’t give not one care at all.

Pretty sad LA Fitness. Ive had a membership at a location in Winter Park for years, and it was much nicer than this one. I mainly enjoy using the basketball courts, and this court is a joke. Not only is it too small to play on, but half of the court has been shut down for weeks due to water damage. See the photo below to see how seriously they take it. Instead of fixing it, they just let it go and think its funny. This gym gets way too packed also. There should really be standards among all LAs, and corporate should come make some changes to this location. Needless to say I am cancelling my membership tomorrow.

Continued to charge me full price even after I froze my membership. They only allow you to cancel if you go in person or mail a form to corporate. Yet you can start a membership, enroll in auto-pay, and sign a contract all online. How convenient.

Get a tetanus shot before signing up here!!! Everything is broken and rusty!!! Even the treadmills have ripped belts.

Cardio machines are in need of replacement or at least service. Several upright bikes are out of service and have been that way for over a month. Very frustrating. Several weight machines are in need of replacement or service. People are friendly and work hard to keep up the safety protocols.

Ive been a member for a little over two months, I am currently applying my brother. Very awesome as new customers get a free trial, he just got a one week free trial! The trainers are great here,the service is great, Richard took care of me today and was wonderful. Come see him for a free guest pass, and a fun fit test! So far my favorite gym out of the ones Ive been to. Take the scary out of Halloween and come visit Richard, as hes so sweet and helpful.

Nice place. We moved near here a couple of months ago. We were members at a different LA Fitness and transferred over. We like the place. I wish it was a bit bigger because during the peak hours its difficult to be able to use the equipment youd like to. Overall, its clean and the people are reasonably nice.

This is the worst gym i have ever been to . Every time I come in a different machine is broken . I will let the front desk know and they will just say oh i will tell maintence weeks later its still broken . Sad how you have to spend all this money upfront and a annual fee and this is how the gym looks .

I was going to this gym, when one of the advisor push a FREE session, then schedule a meeting with the manager to close you on a personal trainer deal that is not 100% up front. the manager offer me that i wanna cancel after 1 session i can get all the money back, now when i cancel because all the friendly personal stop being friendly when you sign up, i get charged all the FREE training session. I would no recommend this location to anyone.

This gym equipment needs to be replaced. Most of the cardio equipment is in rough shape. Many equipment the weight numbers are all rubbed off so you dont know what your lifting.

Ive been to a number of LA Fitness gyms accross the country and this probably has a bit more equipment than the usual. Never really had to wait for a bench press or machine. Tons of cardio equipment. Clean equipment for the most part, although some could use updating. The mens locker room was clean when I visited. Didnt interact with staff.

Id give a zero but you cant. I walked in and around to the various machines and saw how filthy the place was and grabbed my gear and bolted. Boynton isnt exactly a nice area anyway but I was in the area and thought I would discard the reviews. You know the score reviews are definitely from friends or braindead zombies.

It is really a great place to workout, very clean, and great customer service. The juice bar has the best protein shakes!!

My gym

This is the most poorly run gym I’ve ever used. They’ll sign you up for the gym anytime any day of the week, but if you need to cancel, you need to come during 9-5 Mon-Fri when the club manager is there. Beware of any company that makes it harder for you to get out, than it is to get in! My wallet was lost in the club one night at the gym. Guess what? You can’t get your wallet back unless you come back during the club manager’s 9-5 hours because no one else has access to the safe. I’ve never been to a gym that does this. This gym is always packed to the brim. No one re-racks the weights. The AC doesn’t work. Bathrooms are filthy. You can do better for the $$. Take your business elsewhere or beware.

The management obviously doesn’t care about the cleanliness or the safety of this location. My first time here on 3/5, all the weights were scattered around, in the wrong place, equipment in the middle of the walkway, etc.

Its a solid gym with great equipment and service. I have no qualms with the workout areas. However, it lost a star due to the mens shower area. The water all runs hot and the chlorine smell is strong (but breathable). Which isnt great after 90 minutes of circuit training.

This Is My gym and sorry to say its usually not very clean hair in the shower has black mold in the jacuzzi and the pool not very clean either. Basically its one of the few gyms around where they have the water amenities and since I swim laps theres not much choice. I have belonged to LA Fitness for many many years and it seems no matter which location you go to theres not much of a difference I have even seen rust on the equipment on the ellipticals and they have started taking up a huge amount of space and only allowing the people who buy Personal Training to go in. Also they have a kids swim instructor going on at the pool with screaming kids at all different hours of the day

Very nice gym and staff. I went for a day pass since I’m only in the area for a few days. They had a lot of nice machines and equipment. The pool and jacuzzi area were nice and the facilities were very well maintained. I would definitely join this gym if i lived in the area.

By far one of the poorest run gyms I have ever been to. No hello when you checkin. Equipment everywhere. If a staff member was ever on floor it would be a miracle. Members run the gym, gym bags all over floor, members playing music out load on speakers, dirty. I could go on. Very sad because it has the potential to be a nice gym. Staff doesnt care. No one in charge. Its sad...

Never seen a gym this crowded/run down before, pretty sure the AC has been broken for 3 months. Equipment is constantly falling apart. Lots of shady people, saw some guys smoking in it today, cars getting broken in to. Its only incredibly dirty because how crowded it is. Staff is constantly cleaning but its just too much for them, they never greet you, and a lot of people look like they skip leg day. FL Dept. of Health would have this place shut down in a heart beat. Theyre annual fee policy is ridiculous too.

I always like these Gyms everywhere I go in the country. Some betrer than others, but usually good. They could have more free weight equipment and more organized, but is good anyways.

This location is always pretty busy. Parking lot is a little weird and more like an obstacle course. Their fitness classes are always very crowded so they must be good. Same goes for the spin classes.I have never used the pool or the racquetball courts but they look nice.I think the temperature inside always feels hot upstairs and wish it was a bit cooler. They finally got their WiFi working after it had been down for a few months.

This gym has a great variety of equipment with dumbbells in excess of 100lbs. It has two squat racks, a power cage, and three Smith machines. For isolation work it has a selection of hammer strength isolateral equipment in the free weight area as well as more typical machines.Each machine normally has a twin or a similar movement pattern so you never have to wait too long to use it.For legs, they have a hack squat and five leg press variants, two of which are plate loaded sleds with four weight pegs.

Good gym. Many machines of all types. Additional classes available morning and night. Helpful, friendly staff. Easy sign in with finger. No tag needed on my key chain!

Disregarding safety precautions and not enforcing recommendations on customers either. Tried to get disinfecting cleaner for equipment, missing or out of stock. No wonder Palm Beach County is at 20+% positivity with COVID. Very disappointing.

Friendly staff and the best cleaning staff they have ever had right now. My only complaint is that people are allowed to use Bluetooth speakers on the gym floor. I find it rude when it overpowers my earbuds. Not all the time but on Saturday I was about to say something but decided to keep my mouth shut

You definitely need to take two showers after working out here... Its pretty dirty. The equipment isnt always working or may be missing components. They should honestly update everything in this LA fitness, I know they have the resources to do so. I only go here because they offer classes, but other than that there is nothing special about this gym.

Its a fine gym. They have a ton of heavy things you can lift, its relatively clean, and most of the people are decent. They have more than enough plates and machines in this place to get big, fit, jacked, or whatever you want. If youre looking to be pampered, join Lifetime. If youre looking for a gym, look no further.

Front desk is usually unfriendly. Rarely acknowledge you when you come in except to scan the card. People that work there, sales, front desk, trainers are very unfriendly and most times dont even acknowledge you if you say hello. Gym is good and clean but hot most of the time. Would be nice to see friendly smiling face of the workers from time to time. There are a few nice ones but they are the exceptions. I guess good customer service is hard to come by these days. Shame.

I dont know why theres such bad ratings. This gym is amazing!! If you cant afford it, just go to some other cheap-o gym and dont complain. Staff are always down to help and the gym participants are really nice, too. Nrgize is a really good smoothie place, too!
