I absolutely love this place. I am a new mom of a 5 month old and TLC pediatrics have been amazing even before my baby was born. I love that they have an orientation set up for expecting moms and give you all the necessary information. The staff are friendly and the location is clean and kid friendly. I normally see Dia who is very thorough and great with my little one. Everyone is patient and I never felt rushed. If I need to breastfeed, they give me space to do so. I feel very comfortable and supported here. This is coming from a very picky new mom. I highly recommend this place!

I was told to make an appointment, I had to send my daughters information to their office. I paid to have her information, then called to make an appointment. I was told they are not accepting new patients after doing everything they requested! BEware this office does not honor their word. They left my infant abandoned without medical care after receiving her chart.

My experience at TLC Pediatrics has always been extraordinary. The staff and environment are so welcoming and loving! I have spent my entire childhood receiving treatment and routine checkups here, and theyre really like a family here. I cant imagine a better place to go to because TLC Pediatrics is everything a person could need and so much more.

Dr. Thompson and the staff at TLC Pediatrics are the absolute best! Dr. Thompson has been my childrens (Alexis, Ashleigh, Andrew, and Allison) pediatrician since her days at another pediatric practice where we were patients. Her warmth and genuine treatment of all her patients is something I had never experienced. She is patient and really gives you her full attention. Recently, we were in for well-visits, and she referenced a concern that I had told her years prior. I was amazed that she remembered and that proved that she is vested in her patients lives and well-being. Ive already recommended families to her and will continue. At times, I wish she could see me :-)! She is and will continue to be our childrens doctor.

This place is FREAKING AWESOME. I absolutely loveeeee this Drs Office its clean and they have different cartoon characters for each room. The Staff is nice and the Drs will go out their way to make sure that your baby is ok.... and the wait time isnt long. Thank God Ive found this place.

I love this place! Since my baby was born, I’ve brought her here for all her check ups. All of the staff after friendly. It’s a very clean, bright and fun environment. I cannot say enough about this pediatrician’s office! They have really set the bar for care! I love that when my children come in to see Dr. Thompson, she knows who they are, their history and medical background. She is THE BEST pediatrician, very knowledgeable, warm and friendly. I also love that when Dr. Thompson is not available, any other provider takes excellent care of my children. It is a smaller practice , so everyone knows my family and I rarely if ever have to repeat concerns ( a bonus for me- my middle child started at a medical group and I was not a fan). Dr. Washington and Dia are awesome as well as Kathleen who has supported me when my children were infants, with lactation.I have visited other pediatricians prior to finding TLC, and I often felt that due to the volume of patients , my children left more ill than when they arrived . Not at TLC! It is a very clean office and attention to cleanliness is something I have never questioned .Also , the office staff should be applauded for their warm professionalism! It is never an issue making an appointment and with 3 kids and multiple visits a year , I have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes to be seen.I am beyond pleased with TLC pediatrics and would recommend them to anyone!

The doctors and staff at TLC pediatrics are simply amazing. Dr. Thompson has cared for my son since he was a day old and now he is 10 years. She and the staff are warm and welcoming. Plus, they really cater to new moms and dads. Both of my kids love the staff!

Dr. Thompson is AMAZING!!!! I love this lady. Shes pleasant, knows all three of my kids names and doesnt have to look at a chart to figure it out. She makes me feel as if my kids are her one and only priority. When I had my two youngest kids, she evaluated my breast milk flow and made sure they latched on properly. When I first came to her, it was just her - now she has other staff on board as well to assist and they fit right in. Shes very responsive if you call the after hours mailbox as well. I dont plan on leaving her practice until she tells me my kids are too old.

I LOVE TLC Pediatrics. Both my 8 year old and 2 month old go to Dr. Thompson. She is awesome. When my newborn baby had a cold at 1 month Dr. Thompson called me the evening after her appointment to check on my daughter and then the next morning to follow up on how she did during the night hours. I 100% recommend TLC pediatrics!!!! The staff are also awesome group of people!!!

I have been going to TLC for about 10 years, and, even though its about time for me to move on to an adult doctor, I honestly do not want to leave! Everyone there has been so helpful, patient, and welcoming. I cannot point out one instance where I did not feel comfortable or loved within that space. My children have been patients with Dr. Thompson since 2002. We love everything about her, her staff and practice. She has become our go to person. By the time we reached our third child he was the one to keep us on our toes. Having asthma, severe food allergies and very bad eczema, she was there to conquer it all. He is now a 12 year old track star for his school. When your child comes to this practice they are not a chart number. They take the time to get to know the family. I can’t thank them enough!!!!

I’ve been a patient with TLC Pediatrics since 2010. I am now almost 19 and dreading the day I have to start looking for a doctor for adults 21 and up :( I’ve loved the office and the team since I started at 10 years old, they’ve always been so welcoming and polite each and every time I’ve came for a visit or called multiple times about forms for college, shots, or whatever the case may be. It’s impossible not to see the love Dr. Thompson of course, Dr. Washington, Dr. Kathleen & P. A. Dia have for each family that comes in... Dr. Thompson remembers almost every single detail of what you tell her without looking at past notes, genuinely cares about her people, and goes above & beyond to make children comfortable at her office. The office is even a representation of that too considering that each room has its own theme with toys! I wish I could give the office an ever higher rating. There’s no better place that I would recommend other people in the PG area too!

Dr.Thompson has been amazing with both of my children. When I was nursing my first child she saw that I was having a hard time and called me at home during after office hours to encourage me to hang in there. She is amazing with my kids.

Dr. Toni Chittams is an AMAZING doctor and advocate for children. She takes the time to truly get to know her patients and address any issues that come up in a timely and considerate way! When my 2 oldest children became young adults they didnt want to leave her! So glad she opened a new office for older children!

Dr Thompson has been our children’s pediatrician for 6 years. Her care goes beyond a medical visit. She really cares about our children and goes above and beyond to make sure they are ok and parents are well informed. She has many patients but provides enough care to make your child feel as if they’re her only patient. I truly love this practice! I really enjoy my visits at TLC Pediatrics. I’ve had Dr. Thompson since I was a baby and she is honestly the best doctor! Every time I come for a visit the entire staff treats me like family. Dr. Thompson has a wonderful way of allowing me to express myself and she acts more like my friend than my doctor. Dr. Thompson has been my doctor since I was one years old. Every time she moved, we followed. I’ve had nothing but incredible experiences with the staff at TLC, everyone from the receptionist to the doctors are always nice to me. My mom always found it easy to make appointments and we never waited long in the reception area. Whenever there was an emergency, they fit us in. For example, last summer I was scheduled to attend a program out of the area. I had just returned from another trip where I fractured my toe. TLC saw us immediately, made us an appointment to take X-rays across the street, reviewed the X- ray and booked us an appointment with a pediatric specialist all in one day. It sucked that I had a boot, but I was happy I didn’t have to miss a day of my program. Lastly, my little sister who is 3 years old also goes to TLC.

Bringing my daughter to TLC Pediatrics has been a dream come true! Dr. Thompson-Chittam is AMAZING!!!! She is very thorough and she knows all her patients my name. No long waits, friendly and knowledgeable staff and they are very accommodating to you to get same day appointments if needed. I would highly recommend TLC Pediatrics.

When I had each of my children, she was the first physician I saw in the morning. Even though the hospital had a pediatrician on staff, she wanted to exam the children, as well as check in on me. I absolutely love this doctor and the staff. She provides excellent healthcare to my most precious jewels, my kids and she has all the patience in the world with them, even when they are fussy. Dr. Thompson is absolutely the best! The day my daughter was discharged from the NICU, we were able to get an appointment the same day! When my daughter was admitted back into the hospital, Dr. Thompson called and checked on her. She was able to catch issues that the hospital didnt, which required my daughter to have surgery. Dr. Thompson remembers my daughter so we feel like she personally knows her. She has the best recommendations and shes available always shows concern. Dr. Chittams has won not only my respect with her ability to connect with both the parents and patients, but also my trust in her abilities to keep my loved ones healthy and strong.

How would I describe TLC Pediatrics…? In a word, arrogant. It’s a shame that TLC Pediatrics sees questions and pleas for communication from concerned, first-time parents as an affront to their knowledge and an attempt to not let them “do their job” per Dr. Thompson herself. TLC, on my first born’s initial visit (of which she was 2 days old), coded in her medical records that she was diagnosed with jaundice (obviously, no blood work results were analyzed at that time) and a very serious “failure to thrive” (look it up on Medline Plus – NIH’s consumer health information resource). TLC did not communicate this at all, we found it on my first born’s record when we went home and happen to log into the online portal. When we called soliciting reasons, they claimed it was their protocol to do so when babies don’t return to birth weight. Again, my first born was 2 days old, babies don’t return to their birthweight until some 10-14 days after birth. They left it on record—who knows, maybe they could bill my insurance with it there?The other problem we had with TLC was their apparent randomness in determining the growth rate of newborns. Our baby was in at 6lbs 5oz, at 2 days old, down 7oz from her birth weight (a paltry sub 5% weight loss). TLC decided that she was failing to thrive, while not communicating that to us, at that point (note that the average weight loss is 10% and babies can continue to lose weight beyond just 2 days) and wanted to see us in two days. As new parents who didn’t think to check the portal as we had no reason to think our baby wasn’t thriving, we agreed. TLC was disappointed in the gain of 1oz over the two-day period (again, some babies are still losing weight at 4 days yet ours gained an ounce) and in a completely unprofessional, unscientific and dehumanizing move had my wife nurse for ~20 minutes to see if that ounce would be gained. Yes, they wanted, in a single nursing session, for my baby to gain what they want to see in a day. Obviously, the baby didn’t gain an ounce from one nursing session – note here, TLC’s scale doesn’t even provide ounces to the tenth or hundredth.Fast forward to yet another appointment, at 8 days of birth, this one a “weight check in”. After questioning where TLC got their “ounce a day” from, Dr./Ms. Long PA, who was visibly annoyed with our questions, furnishes an UpToDate article that did not distinguish gender and said that the ounce a day is an average (aka +/-). I showed her that my baby was on par with weight gain per the World Health Organization’s standards to which Dr./Ms. Long had no real response. Seeking solace and rationality from Dr. Thompson, the head doctor, she surprisingly sided with the non-evidence saying “we have seen and we like to see an ounce a day based on all the patients we’ve had”. Instead of the evidence from the World Health Organization/CDC, TLC bases their decisions on a comparably MUCH MUCH smaller sample size vis-à-vis their practice. Embarrassing.These are not small things, discouraging questions via sophomoric remarks like “let us do our job” for serious issues is a HUGE red flag for parents! No apology was issued for the miscommunication and lack of information, rather, Dr. Thompson recommended we pick up our medical forms as she uttered “I think you’re looking for a certain answer”. Unprofessional, we wanted communication however on this occasion, we took her advice and got our newborn out of that deplorable practice.

I have been with TLC since both of my children were born. I knew Dr. Thompson-Chittams was for me and my children when she checked on my first child the day after he was born at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She and her staff have been nothing but awesome with me and my children. She and her staff are friendly, awesome personalities, and down to earth; willing to work with you whenever possible.Im starting to well up a little, but on Tuesday July 26, 2016, my son was going into anaphylactic shock. I phoned a few times driving my child to the office, as we were closer than a hospital would be. Each time I dialed, not knowing, because of slight panic, I spoke with Ann, Joann, Cretia, and Mia. The awesome staff at TLC was on it, asking the right questions and calming me at the same time. When we got to the office, they took us back immediately, Ann was there calming my son, while Dr. Thompson-Chittams and others rallied together in help and support to get the proper things in order to be administered.Im not only thankful to God, Im thankful for the quick thinking of all at TLC Pediatrics for helping to save my sons life. I am totally thankful and grateful for them.
