We paid $1200 for kennel cough and nothing else. When we dropped off our dog they asked us what we would like them to work on with her. We gave them a list of behaviors we would like to change. We frequently called to check in on her progress and were assured that she was progressing well. When we went to pick her up they admitted that they hadnt worked on any of the behaviors we had indicated, rather they put her through their generic regimen and completely disregarded our wishes. On top of that, she now has a severe cough which will require a visit to the vet and another bill which the Academy should cover. Youd be better off saving your money and finding a list of commands online.

Just started puppy classes and could not be happier with them! Our trainer is very aware, approaches each pup individually and is extremely knowledgeable. It makes me so comfortable that if I were to need to board him in the future, he would already be comfortable on the grounds. A very safe and inviting place, well worth the little bit extra than Petco lessons with some new apprentice!

I would never take my puppy or dog here for training. I took my puppy in for a consultation for training and the owner who does the consultation hurt and made my puppy yelp. The owner was trying to get my dog to sit so she grabbed her by to neck and collar and forced her down. That is when my dog yelped. She used some excuse saying my dog was being dramatic and over reacting, but I know my puppy the best and not once she has yelped or been a dramatic dog. She also did not ask my permission to discipline my dog and used water sprayer and drenched my dog in the face. I asked the owner what program I should enroll my dog in and she said she doesnt even know the schedule and whats available. I think that shows you what kind of management is taking place there. Why would I ever take my dog to a place where the trainers dont even know the different type of dogs and one try to correct/argue with me saying that my puppy wasnt an Australian Labradoodle, when in fact she is an Australian Labradoodle. The person at the front desk told me that they will email me for the schedule when there is an availability for classes, and it has been weeks and weeks and I never gotten anything.

Because I cant give this place zero stars, I guess I will say that the reception folks were nice and efficient.Otherwise, I cant believe I almost sent my loving dog here to be abused for five weeks. It doesnt seem like any reputable source in Seattle can vouch for this company. There are just too many negative reviews across Google, Yelp, and even King 5 to let me feel comfortable about sending my dog here.

The in-house grooming options are very convenient and helpful. Were huge fans and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good Doggy Day Care. Our dog knows the route to the day care by heart and is always visibly and audibly excited to go hang out with his friends. Highly recommended! Just finished the 5 week boarding and training program and could not be happier. Our dog came home trained, groomed, and excited to show us her new skills. I paid the 5 week intense training which is supposed to include the ability to continue a training refresh as needed well beyond the 5 week intensive. I’ve now tried to get in for a quick refresh 3 times and they are always booked. I wonder if this is a bait and switch? Not sure. Getting in for boarding or getting a return call is equally challenging. The training itself was good as long as you are consistent with it.

My dog became even more sensitive and unpredictable after he came back. I think sending him to a new environment where they use choke collar was really a bad choice for his personality. This way, the dogs would learn orders (sit, down, ...etc) but they wouldnt know why they need to do it, since they are just threatened with CHOKE COLLARS. After I realized the issue, I called for several follow-up visits but that did not work. My dog acted differently in front of the trainers, because he has an experience of choke collar training with them. The trainers here told me to pull the choke collar harder and HARDER until the dog obeys or stops barking. I asked for a refund and as soon as I initiated this, they became UNRESPONSIVE. Not to mention, this facility was on news for a leaked video of abusing(beating) dogs. I am 100% sure that is what happened to my poor dog.AOCB has a poor customer service and has a lack of knowledge. Their approach is old school and abusive. They abuse and beat the dogs in a filthy environment. They act differently behind you and will choose which emails to ignore and which emails to answer. They must acknowledge what they do is important and really affects peoples lives. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

After speaking with the academy about bears needs I took him in yesterday for a grooming session. I cannot say enough positive things about the care that he received. The training they do is okay, although even if you pay for a full hours private lesson, and they only decide they want to teach your dog to sit for half an hour- they STILL charge you a full hour. I was also hoping to board my dog there while I went away so I asked for a tour of what the kennels look like. I was very surprised and how gross, hot and small all the kennels were. Ive seen some really nice kennels and so when I saw the lot they have I figured the kennels would be somewhere else other than the office building. I was surprised to see ALL the kennels are jammed in the office building, some of the small dogs were even crammed behind the door in a small set-up kennel about 2 feet wide. Lets just say, Ive now cancelled all of my appointments and found a kennel that is very friendly, clean and allows the dog a nice air-conditioned space.

Our Dog has been going there since he was a puppy. Not only did we use their services to train him, but he loves the day care and boarding. We always get compliments on how well behaved our dog is and wow he listens to you. He is always so happy when he comes to AOCB. The minute we pull in he gets so excited. I am new to the area and read a lot of reviews but keeping an open mind. My rescue from the southeast-has some behavior problems -No socialization. AcOB did an eval and recommended more vet tests before completing any intense training because of some anatomical things they noticed when I boarded him. Sure enough he’s got scar tissue from torn ligaments- these issues were not caught by other vet professionals humane society or rescue group back east when this dog was surrendered. Now able deal with his pain and then I can try and help his behavior but nobody else saw that. I am grateful to them for this.

I cant say enough great things about this place. I take my dog there to be boarded and he LOVES it! What helped with that love for my dog was taking their Basic Obedience and Beyond Basic training classes, even though we had to re-peat the classes a few times. The training you get is top notch! The instructors make the curriculum easy to understand and use with it all being tailored to what you put into is what your going to get out of it with your dog. For me personal they went above and beyond in making sure I was comfortable with training my dog and making sure I knew what to do when he needed to be re-corrected.Again cant say enough great things - thank you ACB!

They do not know how to treat their associates. They lied about why I was terminated recently. They told me it was because they cant afford to pay their temp service for workers. When I called the temp service they told me that I was let go because I made people uncomfortable. Obviously they have a hard time being forthcoming with anything. I have witnessed neglect of animals as well as unsafe working conditions. The roofing I side of the kennel has started to fall into the areas they put the animals. I have watched other associates choke and drag dogs with blue nylon lead leashes. This olace is all around not a good place for animals and people alike.

The trainers at this facility beat the dogs as an aversive training method rather than using positive reinforcement techniques. This type of training fosters fear and aggression. What’s worse is that while they are beating the dogs with plastic bats, they are also sadistically laughing and filming the activity. This place should be shut down and a criminal investigation should be done for animal cruelty. Absolutely disgusting.

We brought our 1 1/2 year old rescue dog (border collie/lab/pitbull mix) here for the 2 week board and train program. After 2 weeks, the work the trainers had done was so amazing and she seemed so content that we continued for the full 5 weeks. Our dog is very happy and so easy to handle now. At first, we were nervous to leave our dog for such a lengthy period of time but it is immediately clear how much the staff cares about the dogs in their care and knows what they are doing and we left feeling very comfortable. Our dogs primary trainer, Cameron, was great with our dog and helped us tremendously in learning how to work with her. I would recommend AOCB to anyone.

We had high hopes after a recommendation but were unfortunately disappointed. Other puppy classes Ive attended with my other pup were well organized, small and clean with puppy play before and after class to help them focus for the training parts. No such thing here- the facilities were dirty and smelled disgusting beyond the normal doggy smell and into overwhelming dog poop smell, the hour long class had puppy play only at the end of the class, vaccination records were checked after class, not before (this made me nervous; Ive never gone somewhere for puppies be it class or play times where they didnt ask at the beginning and turn you away if the puppy wasnt vaccinated) and the instructor seemed unfocused and unprofessional- at one point she recommended a raw diet which is a whole nother thing. This training facility also does use negative reinforcement, not just positive. Had I known, I never wouldve signed up for services. All in all we were very disappointed and knew we wouldnt be returning within a half hour of the first class. On a good note the manager I spoke with was very and professional; we were refunded 50% of the class cost which was a resolution we were satisfied with, although not what we hoped for.Overall I cant recommend this place. I hope their other services are better than the Puppy Headstart class we took! If you are looking for a good training spot that offers playtime and puppy classes I highly recommend Four Paw Sports Center as a very clean, positive and professional alternative.

We have a St. Bernard that was having protective aggression issues. About 1 1/2 years ago after being denied any help by every other training facility close to our home, I checked into AoCB. We met briefly with a trainer and then enrolled him (and us) into a class. What a complete turn around hes had! Eko has become the best dogger citizen ever! Before we couldnt take him anywhere out of fear that he would eventually bite somebody and we were considering that his entire life would be indoors and behind a fence. He has a different future now. I dont worry anymore that hes going to snap or bite. He seems so much more comfortable and confident when I take him out.We recently moved to Colorado and hes so good that hes become my daily walking buddy at the local walking trail. Its filled with joggers, bikes, and other dogs, and hes so good, he pays none of them any mind now and just looks to me for praise. Yesterday as we were coming home, we came face to face with a small loose dog that wanted to play and torment him. Eko sat and waited while the little thing yipped and barked at him until the owner came running out and got the dog.I realized then that I never wrote you to thank you for giving us our big buddy back and changing his (our) life.Thank you!!!

We first took a dog to AOCB over 15 years ago. We got excellent training advice for dealing with a dog who was rather timid and would not respond to food rewards. Now that we have another dog, we have been regulars at AOCB for several years, taking classes in obedience, advanced obedience, tricks, agility, and rally. Rally is our current passion, and weve began showing our dog with considerable success. She is a mixed breed dog, and the people at AOCB have no hangups about working with a dog who is not a purebred. If you need basic training advice and help, or if you just want to do something fun and interesting with your dog, I cant think of a better place than AOCB! I highly recommend it!
