Great dentist! I had many cavities and decided that I needed to do something about that. I found this dentist recently. He did all of my fillings in one appointment! This saved me time and money because I did not have to take much time off of work.The dentist shared his expert knowledge with me, giving me the thorough details of what was going on with my teeth. This is a dentist that I can fully trust!

I’m thrilled w my visit! And I hadn’t been to dentist in years, fillings and complete cleaning in a visit! He was absolutely a get it done dentist! Very professional and I’m bot in hardly any pain after he warned me that I might be ! I feel healthier after going! I was scared to death. But it wasn’t as bad as I thought! Great dentist!

Affordable Family Dentistry is absolutely wonderful! I have dental insurance that offers very little coverage. As many of us are on a budget, it can be difficult if you have intensive dental issues. I originally visited for an exam. Last year. Dr. Chiang was honest with me, which, I appreciated. He did refer me to the UW Dental Clinic, as I had zero funds at the time. Also, I had several dental problems that my insurance would not cover. I reached out to the clinic, but never heard back.I decided to return to Affordable Family Dentistry, the following year. My situation changed and I had the funds to at least begin to address my many dental issues. Dr. Chiang is a true professional who will take the time to educate you and listen to your concerns. He will work with you and allow YOU to decide what you would like to address first. He will provide you with suggestions, as well as options. He will partner with you to decide on the best treatment plan, for YOU.The office has a very pleasant environment. Dr. Chiang and his staff will ensure that your experience is pain-free. Dr. Chiang will take extra time to ensure that the antiesthetic is doing its job.Affordable Family Dentistry does take several different types of insurance, that some dental clinics do not accept. In addition, they offer a membership program that does assist if you do not have dental insurance, you maxed-out your insurance for the year, etc. I have utilized the plan and it does save you money.Dr. Chiang is a top notch dentist and his work is quality. I am very happy to have found him.

The dentist is knowledgeable, concise and effective. Works well for my schedule to get cleaning and multiple feelings done in one sitting, its next to impossible to get other dentists to do that with my coverage. I transferred to this clinic from peak dental in Lynnwood because I was very unsatisfied with the quality of care I received there. Pretty much everything I was looking for in dental Care I received at affordable family dentistry and I will be returning to continue dental care.

I went in for a routine filling but found out I had an infection in another area of my teeth. The doctor was thorough and to the point. At first I thought he was rude but after the treatment, he proved to be very considerate and I feel very confident in having him as my dentist, especially because he wants to treat the entire mouth, not just problem areas.

Very professional and welcoming experience. The dentist was very straight forward and didnt sugar coat anything. I went in to take my wisdom teeth out. He was fast and careful. Get off your soap box people. Amazing how people write negative reviews that havent even been treated or been to the office. Personal agendas and attacks are rude and I feel sorry for you. First, best dental experience Ive ever had. Its clean and their COVID protocols are top notch and forms easy to fill out online. Second, the doctor explains everything thoroughly and takes time to answer all my questions. He also makes sure your are super numb before they work on you. Third, most gentle dentist Ive ever had and Ive had teeth extracted and tons of fillings. Who takes the time to follow up with their patients after the visit? THIS OFFICE DOES!! SO amazing! Ive worked at other dental clinics but I come here to get my dental care because this doctor cares about me and my health, not just one toothache, not just one cleaning. Thank you Dr Hank for being great and patient.

Update: it has been over 3 months since I wrote this review, which I was pressured into writing. I have since had to change dentists and go through restorative dental work to repair the damage done by Dr. Chaing. Due to the substandard dental work he performed, I still do not have permanent crowns as it has taken months for my mouth to heal properly. I was required to pay in full prior to my appointment, which means I am now out over $6,000 to Dr. Chaing as well as having to pay another dentist for the restorative dental work and permanent crowns. This is just the tip of the iceberg, but after seeing 520 people find my initial review helpful, I could not leave let this stand. Please, please do not go to this dentist. The only true statement in what I said below is that he did many procedures in one day that would normally take place in several appointments. This is important because I now know that there’s a reason why they spread it out over several appointments.I am reserving the 5 star until the dental work is complete (crowns), but so far I have received excellent care and over-the-top scheduling accommodation (I was able to get right in and had what would have normally been several visits worth of work done in one appointment). I especially appreciate the fact that the doctor was up front and honest about the cost and long term expectations of the dental work I needed without pushing me to make a decision outside my financial means. Overall I am very satisfied with my care.

Worst Dental Experience I have ever had!!I went in with needing a Tooth 🦷 pulled I was 1st told I would have to see a Surgeon too get this done!But this tooth was sharp and cutting at my tongue ,this tooth nightmare I was OVERCHARGED!! By $3000.00Yes you saw it THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS WE TRUST DENTIST WELL HE IS A CROOK ! Over CHARGED ME.WOULD NOT GIVE ME MY OWN CROWN BACK ! That fell off he did not have to pull ,out but I needed it back and to have a Bridge made . I’m not even sure where to begin. Was in for what was supposed to be a dental emergency appointment. I had a possible infected tooth and I’m pregnant my midwife agreed it was a emergency due to risk of infection and this office knew that. Was told through email to expect the appointment to be 60-90 minutes long. I signed a consent to treat form to be TREATED and was told by scheduling that I’d be taken care of that day. The dentist I saw was extremely rude, spent 15 minutes bashing and belittling me over past cavities and my tooth that had started to have issues that week. Pregnancy can cause dental issues, I was getting it take care of and it was his job to treat not judge. When I said I wanted to get the tooth pulled because I was told by multiple dentist before I moved the molar needed to go anyways due to crowding I was pretty much yelled at because he wanted me to pay $4000 for the root canal. When I said no I don’t have that kind money right now and I’m not comfortable doing it pregnant I was then told he was no longer comfortable treating me and gave me a referral and walked me out the door . My fiancé left a bad review because I was so upset. Dentist handled it by releasing my private medical information online and harassing me by phone and email to take the comment down. You violated HIPPA, belittled me, refused to treat me because I didn’t want to give $4000 on the spot and lied. DO BETTER.

Absolutely amazing experience! I am on limited dental coverage and they were still able to get me in right away for my cleaning and exam. After the exam we were able to set up a plan to get my teeth back in order, and they got me in 4 days later. In the past I have had a few bad experiences with inadequate numbing, but not this place. They are spot on, and got a huge amount of work done in one sitting. They definitely know what they are doing and I left there knowing way more about dental health. Prices are more than reasonable, and overall a wonderful dental experience. I will be going back soon to get a crown, extremely happy I found this gem.

Dr.Hank did amazing work and Kris is so sweet. It would have normally taken 12 appointments to get the amount of work done that he got done in one appointment. My teeth were really jacked up and now they look so much better. Dr. Hank even called personally and checked on me a week later to make sure I am healing up good and happy with the work. Ive never had a dentist call to make sure I was doing okay before so that was really nice. I highly recommend this place. Dr. Hank teaches dentistry to other places like Healthpoint so that shows you he really has more experience then a lot of other dentists in the area so knowing that really assured me that I chose the right place.

Ive gotten multiple fillings and cleanings at affordable family dentistry where the dentist and his staff do a great job making you feel as comfortable as possible. I like that the dentist is not afraid to tell you like it is, and their prices are competitive. They seem like they are able to get a lot more done in a single visit than most other dental facilities. Overall super happy with my experience here and intend on continuing coming here for future dental work.

Dentist would not even see my fiancé even after stating they would. She needed a tooth pulled and he straight up told her that he couldnt do anything. He started yelling at her when she asked why she couldnt be seen, even thought she was told there would be no issues.

I normally dont leave reviews but I cant let this one go. The woman up front trying to keep up with the Sweatshop mentality of this place was amazing! The dentist on the other hand was incompetent. He informed me I needed to visit every 3-4 months for cleaning as I had gum disease. He also told me I over brushed and had lost enamel which needed attention. This took place after the dentist did my cleaning, not an oral hygienist, the actual dentist. It took him 5 minutes. What?!?!Knowing after leaving that he did not know what he was talking about, I never intended to return. I made an appointment with a new dentist when I was due for the normal 6 month cleaning. Without telling this Dentist and oral hygienist what had happened I asked them about over brushing, enamel loss, and gum disease(seperately with hygenist) and if any of those things applied to me. After the hygienist told me No, where would you get that idea I explain this story to her. I told her I didnt believe any of this as I have amazing gums and teeth, always have, never had any issue whatsoever, I also keep myself informed as my teeth are important to me. She agreed to keep quiet so I could get the second laugh at what this so called dentist told me. I did. Ending thoughts:-3-4 month cleanings..... more money for him!-Enamel treatment.... more money for him!Seems the way that shop is run is all about money not the client.!!!!!!!THUMBS DOWN!!!!!!One more thing, I agree with the comments below about you breaking privacy laws disclosing patient information. Thats a big no no!Oh, and the only people you reply to are the ones with a negative review???So, either you do not appreciate the good ones or wrote them yourself. Im guessing the latter.

My overall experience was fantastic! I originally called in to establish a regular dentist with checkup and cleaning. I not only was seen the next day, but the dentist completed what would have taken 20 visits into A SINGLE VISIT! Very knowledgeable, quick, and professional. Emailed me directions to prolong the work done in case I forgot and went as far as to call me the next day to see how I was doing. Could not be happier with what is usually a bad experience with dentists when you need a lot of work done. My cleaning, what I originally went in for, is set for next month. I filled out the form for new patients online and called because I didnt get a call back, and had to answer the same questions I filled out on the form. They said they would call me back, they still didnt. So I called again and they had me answer the same questions AGAIN because they didnt bother to look at what I submitted or record my answers before. Still no call back to this day. Not worth my time; I found another dentist nearby who answered and was willing to set up an appointment right away.EDIT: Got a call from the manager a week later who said it took a while to contact insurance and got me in for the next day.:)

Took me forever to find a place that was taking new patients with my insurance, so needless to say I was happy that they said they could take on a new patient. Service was affordable, quality, timely, and the doctor onsite was very thorough and trustworthy in educating me how to change my dental cleaning habits to make my teeth as healthy as possible. They were compliant with all COVID-19 prevention measures and the facility was nice.

This establishment is extremely unprofessional and in direct violation of patient privacy laws. Not only are they unable to take criticism, their retaliation is extremely unsettling. Releasing patient information online, on Google, is WRONG and NEVER ok. I was interested in visiting this office, however now I am more invested in reporting them for violating federal patient laws.Now I expect see a reply from the dentist/office manager in which I am harassed for criticizing their unprofessional business practices and lack of public relations. I have never seen a medical office conduct itself in a more childish manner.Dont argue with your patients; do better.

I quite prefer people that are strait up honest and dont sugar coat things even when it comes to pain, and when it came to this place and his staff i was quite pleased with his service and work, it was quick easy and simple and only took 1 visit for multiple fillings i will continue to use this dentist for my root canal and crown in the future, i have visited very few dentists in my lifetime and for being the first one in 8 years I am glad I chose this one, Family friendly, Professional, Quick, and precise. Most of all HONEST!!

I had a lot of work that needed to be done and my dentist was willing to commit extra time to me even though he had to see other people. The staff is very nice. It does get busy so you need to be patient. Thanks for saving my teeth!!ETA: My fillings were not fully filled and my nerves were left exposed so I couldn’t eat on the right side of my mouth for a long time. I didn’t even enjoy my experience here, the dentist was rude. I felt pressured to leave a good review or else he was going to charge me $100 for my hold on my next appointment. Would not recommend tbh especially if you’re scared of the dentist.

This dentist refused to call correct insurance information which was located on the card. Once we as the client called from our device they spoke to insurance company.They refused to use insurance and wanted to charge for full service.The manager who was working front desk claimed this was standard procedure they charge first. Even though they spoke to insurance company.Horrible horrible dentist with horrendous policies. I will be contacting ADA.

TL/DR: Helpful and understanding personnel, understand what your insurance will cover as not all are equal.Compared to many other dental offices, this place has quite the lower rates. Went here for cleaning and further information on gum health. Both the front office personnel and dentist were helpful and accommodating. Based on reviewers who gave one star most likely dont know how insurance works or how their dental insurance is applied with theirs. Unless you have an extremely premium dental insurance that covers crown work or root work, youre going to have to pay some of the work done. My insurance (provider one) clearly states what is covered and didnt have any issues on procedures that were done (cleaning, x-rays, cavity filling). Even further information was given on ways to help prevent further tooth/gum decay. Looking at these one star reviews, again, look up what your insurance will cover. Before any further plans were made that my insurance wouldnt cover, the dentist went over with me in detail. I havent had many dental visits, so seeing the professionalism and accommodation received here, I can say that I would highly recommend this establishment to others.

I had the worse experience ever here. I rarely write reviews, but I feel that I need to put this out there-- obviously still frustrated. I had a light cavity that couldve been easily fixed with a tiny drill and a filling. Instead, the doctor decided to drill deeper than necessary, and now it is causing me pain, where before I didnt feel a thing from this cavity, and now I am having to take his mess over to another dentist who will be good to my teeth. Whats worse is that they did the very least for my 5-year old son and I, and gave us very little explanation throughout the entire appointments, which made me feel like they were being prejudice. The dentist is supposed to inform us about our teeth and share advice in how to take care of our teeth, and guide us in how we can invest in our teeth. I had many questions, and the doctor gave me short responses, and I dont think it was due to a lack of knowledge, but to a lack of patience in helping me out. WORSE DENTAL EXPERIENCES EVER! I cannot believe I went there a second time hoping things would get better. Bye Affordable Family Dentistry. Find a new practice, or fix your attitudes.

Very nice dentist. He was very professional. The information he gave me was very helpful. After giving birth I managed to get two years behind on my cleanings. The teeth with fillings had cracked from chewing ice during pregnancy. The dentists I had in the past were decent, but this dentist gave me information I needed to get serious about my dental hygiene. My family told me he saved my beautiful smile. Its true because I was only weeks away from losing a tooth. He explained to me what losing a tooth could do to your smile. If a table leg was removed from a table it would be unstable. With it being unstable it would cause more damage. This was all useful information for me and very important because he took the time to explain what takes years for dental experts to master. Not only did this dentist fix my deep cavity issues, he cleaned every tooth because Im self conscious about how white my teeth are and my gums were starting to bleed. He did the most work he could do in one visit with me utilizing apple health. Which means he literally is the best dental company in bothell that except majority dental insurance companies. This place gives you the best service no matter how you pay. He informs you on everything you need to know, and follows up with an email and phone call. Now, before I end this heart felt review let me say this. It may be hard to get a hold of him on the phone and he may seem very busy inside but he was! He literally managed to fix my teeth and god knows how many other people came in today all by himself. That takes guts, confidence, courage, knowledge, and pure God given talent. I cant speak on why his receptionist was out but I truly believe not many people will experience seeing one dentist give no less then perfect dental service like he did today! Just a response to the dentist that replied. My father was not treated at all in your office. Yes he was quoted for gum treatment because I have the quote that was given to him by your office. Also, when i spoke to you, personally, you never mentioned anything about doing things in increments. You stated that everything had to be done at once.It is obviously true that his bottom teeth cannot be saved because two have already broken off with him just eating bread. They explained the the majority of his top teeth can be saved. My fathers new dentist was absolutely appalled that he was actually charged for his X-rays by this office . You were even asked if he can get them for free because of his limited income and you had said no!As I stated this dentist is highly unprofessional especially that he just writes lies here just to make himself look good. Will not be returning and will not be recommending to anyone.

Brought our 4 kids in for a checkup (age range 2-10) and everyones experience was wonderful! From the office staff, dental hygienist to the dentist. Everyone communicated well with the kids and me, were patient, attentive, and gentle. When my youngest started having trouble they did not pressure her and make her do anything she didnt want to. The dentist let me know the plan for the next appointment that will (hopefully) help her next time. They made sure each child had a positive experience, and we will definitely be coming back.

I hadnt seen a dentist in years because of a lack of insurance and previous dental experiences that left me horrified... I came to this office for what turned out to be a tooth extraction. I was extremely nervous, but the staff here are incredible. They walked me through everything, explained the procedures to me clearly and were extremely considerate of my anxiety and comfort level. They are very sweet and ANY fear I used to have is gone. Im healthier, healing well, and grateful beyond words! They really, truly care about you here. I absolutely recommend them to anyone! :)

I had a great experience with Affordable Family Dentistry! They got me in very soon after I called. They use ultrasonic cleaning for teeth so my teeth feel so fresh and clean! I would recommend to anyone!

The dental experience I received at Affordable Family Dentistry was wonderful. I was greeted warmly, treated kindly, and for once I didnt feel like I was less of a priority for having state insurance. Upon meeting the dentist and talking to him about my particular situation I was pleasantly surprised by how passionate he was in response. This is someone who legitimately cares and you could tell he simply wanted what was best for my health. He didnt scold at my dental neglect or the years it had been since I last saw a dentist. Instead his focus was my future care and health. He was able to pinpoint the issues and offer quick reliable solutions. I wont lie, before coming here I held off for ages going to a dentist because I believed I hated dentists. I was wrong. I simply didnt feel like more than just a number anywhere else, whereas my visit here I was a person who another person was willing to level with honestly, without judgement, and help to find solutions. No bs, Affordable Family Dentistry is the best dental care I have ever received, both in results and genuine bedside manner. So grateful to have found this place and these amazing people!

Im traumatized. Worst cleaning ever, worst fillings ever. Careless staff.Fillings should not hurt a week after your appointment. Ive been in searing pain since my appointment here. I understand my dental situation is severe, and theres a lot of work to be done, but I obviously had an infection and not even an antibiotic was prescribed.The front staff was pretty cold. The atmosphere of this place was cold, and sad.Also, the front staff was treating a client like a total idiot, whilst they were discussing a charge.How are this establishment still in business?DR.Chang doesnt care about you, or listen to what your saying. Theres a serious lack of empathy.

This place is not affordable. Its named that way to get you in the door. They will take your insurance and charge the maximum they can get away with. Theres a $47 special on their site for new patient exam, xrays, and cleaning, yet they are trying to charge my insurance $300+ dollars after a $30 copay. That copay was collected before any work was done, and was told any other work I needed done would need to be paid in FULL before the day it happens. The dentist JUST HANK spent five minutes or less looking at my teeth and providing consultation. JUST HANK was basic, showed no concern or interest in me as a human and a patient, and spent all of the short consultation time basically telling me that the most BASIC cleaning procedures would suck up all my dental insurance benefits immediately, forcing me to pay out of pocket.Basically? Try anyone but this greedy place**EDIT 11/25/17** The office called me for a followup to try and schedule work to be done. I was informed that there was also a $35 TRANSFER FEE for the doctor to release my $300+ Xrays. This place is a COMPLETE. RIP. OFF.

First of all, let me say that this dental office is affordable and the dentist is incredibly accommodating. I am appalled to read all the one star reviews based on pricing because my insurance expired and the doctor still honored the price. I dont think any one star reviews even received any dental work. How can you give one star review based off of no work?I had lots of dentistry done in kirkland over the years and I can say without a doubt that this office saved me a lot of money. I dont take care of my teeth as I should and teeth have broken as such. Affordable Family Dentistry helped me priortize and and breakup the treatment so I didnt have to pay everything at once. I think the people who are upset about pricing havent had dental treatment for a long time and dont understand how insurance works. I drive about 40 min ways to Bothell to see the dentist and I highly recommend this office.

My initial visit last week here was very bad, Had worse experience.Dr.Hank was very rough and frustrating all the time.when I have asked any question he replied with irritating and frustrating tone with raised voice.I felt very confused ,so ridiculed and humiliated.just finished cleaning in 15 minutes.I think towards medicaid patient his attitude is very bad,didnt feel positive vibe at all. I got my validation that this really wasnt the right dentist for me.I will never recommend anyone here. WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER.

I am shopping for an oral surgeon and I just read the reviews on this, and they released a patients medical information in one of their responses to the review. None of us should know about this patients dental experience from India or what theyre trying to have done at your clinic now. That was all in violation of HIPAA., and I almost went there.!!!! This could have been me.

All the Staff are really nice, and the atention is really fast. Besides, the Dr. Is very nice too, he explains everything. Defenitly Ill visit this place for future.

I usually dont do reviews but I really have to do one for this office. The ladies that work in the front are amazing and extremely polite. My problem is with the dentist that works here. If I cant give him no stars I would.First of all they should remove the word Affordable from their name because the place is far from affordable. My father has to do extensive work done on his teeth. This dentist was charging $3,800 per tooth for 4 root canals. Plus a gum treatment that would cost $200 per area. He even had explained to my father that he can save most of his teeth. I didnt feel comfortable with the prices and I also didnt feel comfortable with the way the dentist explained everything to me. Saying that there isnt any dental insurance that offers a no waiting period. Little did he know that Ive been working in the healthcare field for some time now and I know thats a lie. Alot if insurances have a waiting period but some dont. He wanted to do all of my fathers dental work at the same time and not do it in increments. He was charging my father close to $16,000 for dental work. Who has that amount of money laying around? I didnt feel comfortable so I decided to look for a second opinion.We went to an amazing dentist thankfully that was recommended to us and everything she told us was a total opposite from what the dentist at this practice told us.(May I add that in order to get your x-rays from Affordable family dentistry this dentist charges $35 for them to be sent by email. Why does my father need to pay for his records? Its ridiculous. Thats how he takes more money from people I guess.)My father only needs three root canals unfortunately the majority of his lower teeth cant be saved. Everything that the dentist told us at Affordable family dentistry was a lie. PLUS my fathers new dentist is only charging $1,600 per tooth for the root canal and crown which seems more reasonable to me and the gum treatment for his top teeth is only $75 per area.I needed to write this review because I know alot of people fall on hard times and think because of the name of this practice it can be more Affordable. Its a lie. Check the place. Its always empty. I live close to there and rarely see people go into that office. Do your homework and look for another place that actually is affordable. My fathers new dentist even provides payment arrangements of up to $1000 in house with their office. This helped my father at least for his gum treatment which he needs. Only 30% down to start.I really hope this review helps others to make a decision.

I came in after not having any dental service due to lack of Insurance , Thank God for the ACA as a Army Veteran I am very happy with my service on my teeth, Painless having my feelings put in , The Staff was Friendly , Thank you AFD for servicing my teeth

I went in after not having seen a dentist in more than 5 years even though I have a history of teeth issues. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I had expected to do x-rays and an exam and then develop a plan to deal with the fillings that needed to be done but when the dentist looked at my situation he decided to do everything right then and there. No coming back over and over to do one or two little things. I was in the chair for maybe 2 hours but that would have been far longer had I had to make several 20 minute appointments. Ive seen reviews complaining about the x-ray technician needing to do an x-ray more than once, well, shes an INTERN silly people! Give her a break! Everyone there is friendly and helpful and the rest of my household will be making appointments in the near future.

I went to Affordable Family Dentistry to get clearance for radiation throat cancer treatment. Dr, Chiang took x-rays and told me I had one tooth that will probably fall out and that I just needed deep scaling for the total of $1,100 and gave clearance. My surgeon did NOT think I should have had clearance giving the condition of my teeth. He suggested I see another dentist. AFD charged me $35 to hand me my x-rays and when I gave them to the new dentist, she said they were not clear enough and had to take more. The new dentist told me I needed to have all my teeth removed because their condition would have definitely caused problems during treatments and after which could cause me to loose part or all of my jaw bone and could even result in death!! I DO NOT recommend this dentist!!!!

Be aware this company will charge your CC before you even have the service done. When i called to confront them about the situation they acted as if this was a common accurance. Ive been to a lot of doctors over the years and have never had a company charge me before the procedure was done. We even confirmed with the person who handles billing that the card would not be charged until the day of service since we had to give them the card info ahead of time for Care Credit.Danelle Lafrenierre
