Worst service ever! Doctor gave me the worst advice imaginable and now I might have to get surgery. I would avoid this place. The doctor cared more about getting to his lunch that he briefed me on my MRI for 2 seconds. The front desk messed up my scheduled appointment the list goes on and on. Malpractice is the word that comes to mind. I feel like they did not care the slightest and they did not even give me a boot. I went elsewhere and got a boot for a sprain that is going on 3 months now because the doctor did nothing to help me. Not even references to get therapy -nothing! Please do not go here because the doctor clearly does not care about his patients. If I need surgery I will be livid, because this should not have gotten to this point had they given me the proper care and advice. !!!! 0 stars

If they say Dr. Jones will be right in to see you, request a different doctor. I was there on a workers comp claim, and he refused to do X-Rays or MRI. He felt my arm and shoulder and had me move it a few ways. He gave me a diagnosis that was likely wrong and rushed me out of the office as fast as he could. The follow up doctor I saw was good, and he took his time, ordered imaging, etc.So, yeah. Mostly good place. Avoid Dr. Jones.

I had my meniscus and Acl replaced by Tria in early March 2020. Over a year later and I still have pain in my knee. Literally every day since surgery. I was passed around from Doctor to doctor to find someone who would have time for me, wasted 6 weeks meeting with i believe 4 different doctors. Outpatient surgery, was rushed out the door once I was done. Physical therapy was a joke, lazy and they stopped offering it after Covid started. Doctor never followed up with me after saying they would. I wish I could start this over and go to TCO. Actually I may have to anyway to redo the surgery Tria did. For real, this last year has been horrible waking up with pain every day. Thanks for nothing Tria.

TRIA discriminates against people based on medical conditions. We contacted a lawyer who said we have a solid case but we did not have the retainer, because we are broke from chronic medical conditions. The Drs might be great but they are inhumane jerks. Billing department here is beyond terrible. Make sure you have every single receipt of payments made. I have gone to TRIA for PT for couple months and have made sure I paid my deductible/copay before I stepped a foot through the door. Months went by and I receive a bill from internal collection agency stating I have a balance of $200+ I called TRIA billing immediately and lady over the phone was extremely rude and told me she can’t tell me anything since it’s at their debt collection Dept. Long story short after calling the place that had my bills they tell me that one of the bills have never been submitted to insurance and that on two of those days I went in they have different/less amounts showing as what I paid as a deductible/copay.Took a screen shot of my payments off of my bank statements and called TRIA billing again today, Another girl, same rude and unprofessional attitude. She tells me that she’s not sure if my bank statements showing TRIA payments would work and that I have to fax/mail them in. I asked if I can personally stop by the billing bring everything and straighten it all out on the spot to which she again tells me in a very rude and demeaning manner “No”. I asked her to tell me what exactly do they need and what would work so I can provide them with just that and know that everything is good to which she replies that cash dispute dept will decide after matching the dates on those statements.I have another bill from auto accident for my wife back in September. TRIA keeps sending us the bill saying insurance never came through. I called insurance and they say the bill has been paid in December. It is April and I’m still receiving bills from this place on the visits that have been paid long time ago.Billing here is a MESS!!! RUN AWAY DONT GO TO TRIA!!!

Very shady billing practices. They charge you for things that never happened during your visit. Good luck with the very rude phone staff getting things fixed. Last visit I wasnt even seen by a MD! An inexperienced PA evaluated me and she seemed to have no idea what she was doing. She was stumped on what was wrong with my wrist and my x-rays were incorrectly evaluated by her which I later found out. Physical Therapy then gouged me for almost $400 for a 30 minute session. Their billing practices should be criminal. No wonder our medical system is so messed up and corrupt. Buyer beware with TRIA. I will go elsewhere next time I need orthopaedic services. I went to see one of the back doctors a couple years ago. At the appointment the doctors exam consisted of him just sitting in his chair behind his desk. He never once touched me. The doctor had me stand and try to squat, I could go down with out to much pain, but getting back up i started to fall , lucky for me my wife was there, she ended up helping me up. Where was the doctor , just sitting behind his desk, not even bothered by what I was going through. The doctor kept asking me ( so what do you want out of a surgery) so I told him relief from the mega pain I was in , the ability do get back to a somewhat normal life, to be able to do anything other then sit in a chair for the rest of my life. The doctor asked if I smoked , I said truthfully I did. The doctors responce was he was not going to touch me for surgery, or anything until I had quit smoking for ONE YEAR, at which they would be monitoring me through out this time taking blood work, to double check if I was telling the truth. I came to this doctor for HELP to relieve me of 10+pain on the scale. Then he wants me to go through one year more of mega pain at which time he MIGHT HELP, or LEANING TO NOT HELPING. Needles to say I ended up starting to look for another doctor. Just about 3 years later i was redirected by my family doctor to go back and see this doctor who sat behind the desk the back specialist. Well needless to say again the doctor never touched me whatsoever ever. He asked the same questions so what do you want from the surgery , i gave the same answer to get rid of the 10+ pain or at least do something to help. After that appointment i started looking for another doctor. My opinion about tria. Is that they only look for cases they can handle, they are looking for the rating. If I was to end up a year or three down the road having more pain , well thats not good for his rating. If he worked in a emergency room Id be dead. No Im not going to touch him hes in pain, if I work on him as a doctor I know he will be in pain for the rest of his life Im a doctor I went to medical school, I know based on previous patients. If you hurt and need surgery you will be in pain for the rest of your life. AGAIN IN MY OPINION THEY AT TRIA ARE ONLY LOOKING FOR CASES THAT HELP PUT A GOLD STAR BEHIND THE NAME, SO PICK THE EASY CASES. I WOULD NOT AND HAVE NOT RECOMENDED TRIA AND THE DOCTOR TO ANYONE I WILL GIVE THEM THE STORY THAT I WENT THROUGH. FOR A RATING OF THE DOCTOR AND THE COMPANY THAT STANDS BEHIND HIM .....RATED. A BIG ....-0...

I am extremely happy of not having to wait long at all. The only thing is that the doctor did not sound happy to see me. She sounded like oh great. Another patient came in for nothing. It made me feel upset and not cared for enough. My mom also asked if they could see me walk because she said she thinks I walk a little strange. They shrugged it off and said that it was probably nothing. That made both of us upset because we feel that there is more to my condition than they say there is. Personally Im pretty disappointed in the lack of care. Im sure theres a better orthopedics out there.

I went to the urgent care clinic and was diagnosed with some bone inflammation that could lead to a stress fracture and I was told to be non weight bearing for 3 weeks. When I went back in for a recheck I was told they were going to draw some labs and I was to follow up with the bone health specialist. When I went to make that appointment on the way out the bone health specialist’s last appointment is at 1:45pm for the days he works and he never takes appointments on Thursday’s. I only have Thursdays off from my job and the earliest I get off is 3:30pm so his schedule did not correlate with mine. I got access to mychart to follow up on the labs in case they were abnormal so I could be seen by my primary doctor. I received a phone call from Tria about 30 minutes after I left and they told me the doctor was going to cancel the labs if I didn’t follow up with the bone health specialist. I explained that it was because his availability did not correlate with my availability and I got access to Mychart and will follow up with my primary. The woman that called said the labs were going to be cancelled per doctor order if I did not follow up with their bone specialists. I told the woman that was their choice and the conversation was ended. It seems to me that if the labs were important enough for the doctor to order he would atleast want me to be followed up with by a doctor, even if it wasn’t their doctor. But apparently not.

I don’t like this place. It’s an assembly line model that makes me feel like a product that needs to be dealt with quickly and passed along to the next station. I was not allowed to finish my sentences by one PA and told that my reason for being there — to have my now healing broken ankle evaluated by a second doctor — was not enough reason for me to be there and I had to “give them more feedback.” She was rude and dismissive. The doctor I saw was equally rude and barely examined my ankle. On top of that, I have never spent less than 10 minutes on hold whenever I call, no matter what time of day and I also spent a long time waiting to schedule a test in person. They need to slow down and spend more time caring for, listening to and examining their patients and hire more receptionists and appointment schedulers. If you have to go there, be prepared to insist they take enough time to at least let you finish speaking.

I love TRIA Orthopaedic Center. I had my knee surgery here as well as a non-surgical back physician. Knee surgery went great, I loved that I had the same nurse throughout the process. Everyone took care that I was well situated and calm before my surgery. I had a lower back surgery at a general hospital about 9 months later and it was terrible in comparison! I have recently moved out of state and seriously miss the services TRIA provides, you cant find them anywhere else. I recently threw out my back again and went to their acute injury clinic. The part I liked the most was that an orthopedic physician was the person who saw me, not some general family practice physician. He evaluated and treated me within 15 min and I was out the door with what I needed to recover. If needed, MRI and X Ray were on sight. I have never had a bad experience here and would highly recommend it to anyone facing an orthopedic problem. I didnt feel pressured to receive any treatment I didnt think was necessary and liked their hands on approach to my health care. My father has had two hand surgeries and a knee arthroscopy at TRIA and all have gone over flawlessly. Dont be swayed by people who have had surgical complications, complications due to surgery are not unheard of and it is usually not your physicians fault (its probably not yours either, it just happens sometimes, thats the risk you take having surgery).

TRIA Orthopaedic Center is one of the best facilities I have ever been to. On 11/20/2014 I had a SLAP Repair performed on my right shoulder and everything about this clinic was absolutely top notch. They explained every step of they were doing, why they were doing it, and why it needed to be done, what effects it would have on me, and what after-effects it would have, and how long before it would wear off and how Id feel after it wore off, before they did anything. Beyond the technical aspect of the medical things they were doing, every person working had the most pleasant bedside manor - and they were extra friendly not only to myself but also the two people who were with me (my wife and my 5 month old daughter) making me feel, as a patient, as though I were the most important person and that my family were the most important people to the clinic. After doing an X-ray and finding no bone fracture she was sent home with nothing! Couple of printed pages of how to treat a sprain. No treatment plan, no follow up. After seeing a different doctor the next day, where she got an orthopedic boot, rock tape and phyisical therapy, we had an MRI done and found out she had torn ligaments in three places. I will be following up with the TRIA upper management regarding this case. BTW, we were sold a bathtub stool that is designed to work in a shower only. When I brought it back the next day with all tags attached and pictures taken how it doesnt work in a tub, I was told its a federal law not to take personal use items back and suggested I donate the new $50 stool (its $25 everywhere else), if I didnt need it. I called several medical supplies companies in the twin cities and found out there is no such rule. They actually seemed to listen to my concerns and were very open to answering my many, many questions. The staff was also keen to allowing me to be an active member in my own care. I dont know if there is something in the water or those tasty muffins they have at the snack bar or perhaps they actually train their staff how to help people not just profit margins. The doctor at Tria was excellent. Instead of dismissing our sons pain, they ordered the tests that ended up saving his life due to an undiagnosed medical condition. Where so many other doctors could have just told him to take ibuprofen and stop lifting weights, they did the tests needed to get a diagnosis. They also referred us to an excellent surgeon at Methodist Hospital. Thanks!!

I went in with a swollen and bruised knee. I also told the doctor I had experienced a popping sensation as well as grinding of the bones in my knee joint. $500 later I was told the cartilage in my knees was irritated and I would feel better in a few weeks. Its been over a year now and I am still in consistent pain. I definitely wont be returning to Tria, the doctor I saw was sub par at best. He did not listen to me at all when I told him how much I bike in the summer, putting on thousands of miles. Just told me one long ride must have irritated me and I didnt work up to it enough. If Im putting thousands of miles on I think I worked up to it. After further research it seems if I had sudden bruising and popping/grinding in the knee joint I have an injury that is more than just irritated cartilage. Dont waste your time with this clinic.

I recently had total knee replacement at the Tria Orthopedic Center in Bloomington . This was my second knee replacement performed by Dr. Boyd and his staff. During the early stages of my recovery (7 days after surgery) I re-injured my repaired knee. This was not only painful but very embarrassing. I had potentially damaged the knee that Tria spent the time and resources to repair.I advised Dr. Boyds staff that I believe I had re-injured my knee. I scheduled a visit with them the next day and my worst fears were revealed by the x-rays. Surgery was performed the following day to explore and repair the damage that was found. At no time did I feel demeaned by Dr. Boyd and the Tria staff for an injury which made me feel very foolish. All staff were very professional and their level of humor got me through this scary repair.A score of 5 is not high enough for this group of professionals.

Had an Appointment with Dr. Mazzuca, who explain about my surger, he offered prescribing me some medication, and setting up an x-ray. He didn’t actually do any of those things we discussed about that day and told me his nurse Karen will call to set up an appointment for the x-ray. I waited for two weeks to hear from Dr. Mazzuca’s nurse Karen and she didn’t call, so I called and left her two voicemail within that one week when I had reached out to Karen. We discuss the doctors notes and she said she couldn’t release any of my information to me even if I sign a consent form and she said she’ll have the X-ray dept call me to set up a date, BUT NEVER DID! They also lied that they called me and my voicemail box was full! I checked my call log and with my mobile network and even my call logged!! I never got that call they claimed they called!! Lazy doctors and nurses!! Don’t waste your time here!!!! And they wanted to X-ray my ankle, when the problem is the bottom of my feet!!! Even their own representative Miranda B... Melinda B... whatever her name is said the physician were stupid and under education!

I seen a doctor there 2 years ago and all set for a knee replacement but my wife and I were told that I only needed meniscus tears cleaned up on both knees and will be good for 6-8 years! I didnt really want that, but thought we better go with his diagnosis. BIG MISTAKE! After the surgery he came out and told my wife that they were worse than he thought and might get 3-5 years before total knee replacement.I went through therapy and they were feeling better for about 6 months! Then the dailey pain was back. Now pretty much back to taking Ibuprofen or Relief Factor every day! PLEASE go someplace else for a second opinion before making your decision! I wish I would have!

First went to Twin Cities Orthopedics for an avulsed hamstring injury. Was not happy with ignored phone calls. My wife spoke to several doctors with whom she works and they advised us to get a second opinion. One doctor actually had the same injury previously and advised me to see Dr. Boyd at TRIA. WOW! What a difference! On my first visit I had the surgery scheduled and all of the pre-op paperwork completed. Everyone was fantastic and helpful through the surgery. The Hilton stay was way better than any stay at a hospital. Great Doctor, great nurses, great staff. If you do your research you will find Dr. Boyd is THE Doctor to see for this type of injury in the Twin Cities.

I visited several locations for spinal stenosis and related shoulder and arm pain. After being seen by three doctors I felt they would be of assistance and I would find relief. Unfortunately the insurance company refused Trias recommended approach. Following Xrays I was sent for an MRI - and advised that while I could get the MRI I wouldnt be able to get the Dr recommended epidural. I asked them to pursue the appeal and provide guidance - that was more than 5 months ago, I received no follow up - no recommendations. Two weeks ago I went back and asked them personally to follow up with the appeal so i could get the epidural and identify a physical therapy provider. The appeal should take a matter of days. Today I called the insurance company and they have never received any communications or appeal in relation to my case.

I had a MRI on my knee and saw the doctor after the radiology report was completed. He told me to go to physical therapy, get a cyst aspirated, and we can meet again in 6-8 weeks. I asked for a copy of the radiologists report. After looking at the report, I am VERY disappointed that he did not go through it with me in more detail. In addition, 8-Days later, and I am still waiting to hear about my pre-authorization for PT and aspiration of the cyst.My recommendation is try Twin City Orthopedics.

Ive had 2 shoulder surgeries with Dr Markman. Once to repair damage after a car accident that another doctor told me theres nothing wrong and once to repair an injury to my bicep tendon and bone spurs. My experience there and with Dr Markman were wonderful. He explains things well, listens to my concerns and gives me the honest to goodness truth about what is going on. Im going there soon to have my knee looked at by another doctor - Id highly recommend TRIA.

I had a good experience with the doctors, but the bill was a shock. I learned, quite rudely over the phone, that visits to this clinic are not billed to insurance as Urgent Care but rather as a regular Office Visit or facility (whatever THAT means) because TRIA is not an Urgent Care, its an Acute Injury Clinic, even though the pre-recorded message I had just had to sit through on the phone before being told this news stated our urgent care hours are from 8 oclock am to 8 oclock pm, Monday through Sunday. Very misleading if you ask me. Be careful that this place is in the same health system as your primary care physician before you waltz in for an x-ray thinking you are going to urgent care, because it will NOT be billed as such.Still feeling upset by how rudely I was talked down to on the phone. Not fun to deal with.

Im writing this review from INSIDE the doctors office, yet to be seen. Been over 90 minutes from the time I checked in until now and I have yet to be seen by an actual Doctor. Unless you can count the one who walked by when I poked my head out of the room to make sure there were still people in the building. Then Ive been seen by one doctor. The service here is terrible and they are extremely slow. When I checked to make sure people were still here, they told me to be patient and I would be seen soon. That was about 25 minutes ago. Im debating about just leaving and just telling the front desk that I WILL NOT be billed because this is honestly a joke. I will never come here again.
