Our central air conditioner lost electrical power during a stretch of hot and humid weather. Mike of MJ Electric took my call and told me he would have someone come the next morning. The electrician arrived at 8:00 AM and quickly diagnosed the problem; ordered the part(s) with a quick delivery back to him and soon got the A/C up and running again. He was very knowledgeable, professional and personable - I will definitely call on MJ Electric for future electrical repairs and installations!

I installed 3 ceiling fans in my former home - same era and construction type as my current home. I bought two new ceiling fans for my current home and decided to hire someone who knew how to do it this time because the electrical boxes in the ceiling were different than what Im used to. MJ Electric sent a very nice electrician who spent 2 hours trying to figure it out, then had to have the business owner make a site visit and explain how to do the installation. My invoice was $450 to install two ceiling fans, which is more than twice as much as I expected it to be. Buyer beware.

We had a great experience with MJ Electric. They replaced our entire electric panel when we had an emergency and there was actually sparking happening from our old panel. They responded very quickly and were able to fit us into their schedule within 24 hours. The cost was very reasonable too. Beforehand, we would have whole house electric outages sometimes. We have not had any issues since, and we have gone back to taking our electricity for granted. So thankful it is fixed and the work is stable and secure.

MJ was in our home yesterday as part of our bathroom remodel. Didn’t get the electricians name but he was very unprofessional and rude. It was clear to me he was unhappy with the long drive to Albert Lea and wanted the work done as quickly as possible - specifically pointing out to us that he didn’t “want to be here all day”.The electrician was difficult to converse with and had a chip on his shoulder when he didn’t get the responses he wanted. He also performed work that did not match the expectations of our schedule/contract so that he could minimize returning to the project another day. Disappointed in the service provided.

Im extremely disappointed in recent electric work done in my kitchen. After spending $2,500 my first rough in electrical inspection failed and MJ made no effort to reach out, come back and fix the issue. After I was finally able to get them to come back and finish the job, I was charged for time spent to fix the issue that failed the inspection in the first place. After MJ completed the job, my second electrical inspection failed due to a different issue. Again, MJ has made no effort to reach out and schedule a time to come back and fix the problem. I continue to e mail with the owner regarding charges he claims Im responsible for to fix the first failed inspection. The owner continues to insist that I am at fault. Still no effort has been made to correct the issue that failed the second inspection.Ill let the emails speak for themselves.

We cried Wa Ricky when we discovered the refrigerator wasnt working one morning, nor was our sunroom floor. My smarter half found MJ on the neighborhood app and they said they would respond within such a time limit, and they did...that was the first surprise ! James soon was at our door and waisted no time with the fridge...that job done he went on to replace our floor thermostat...and even took on my garage outlet so I could use my compressor! I called Mike on a Wednesday or Thursday telling him my pool renovation hit a snag because we needed to upgrade the pool grounding before we could pour new concrete decking. He said he would take care of the permit and be here Tuesday. He sent Brad who completed it quickly and on budget. Had it inspected the next morning and was back on track! Mike and MJ Electric were great to work with with and very reasonable. I got his information from a neighbor. Several neighbors use MJ. Great job and track record.

The electricians at MJ Electric are top notch. They updated our circuit breakers and fixed a bunch of issues the other homeowner tried to take care of on our 1st house and did the same thing on our new home we bought in the fall of 2015. I would recommend MJ Electric to anyone looking for a reliable electrician, who shows up on time and does great work.

He came out and gave an estimate which seemed very reasonable so we scheduled a date to come and do the work only to text me on the day of the appointment after I had to reach out to him and ask him if he was coming and he cancelled after my wife took the day off work to be here so he could do the work. He asked if he could come another day and I agreed we would try again to only have him cancel again on the day he was supposed to come and asked if could come back for a third try only to cancel again within an hour of telling me he would be here. I gave him numerous opportunities and was very reasonable and he failed miserably ever time. If there was a rating below a 1 he would get it.

Mike helped me out on memorial day weekend (when other companies wouldnt). I had no power and it was 95 degrees. He not only came after hours to help me, but he let me use his personal generator for free! His co-worker (Tim?) was awesome too. Very quick and quality work. I will be hiring for more work in the future

I have a rental property in Minnesota and I was recommended to call MJ Electric who has been around for some time. I had MJ himself, the owner, come out to price a job that was done incorrectly by the previous homeowner (whomever they hired). MJ explained what was done incorrectly and how to fix it in a way a laymen can understand. Side note...I see Devins comment and I wonder if we are even talking about the same person? Anyway...the work was done professionally and MJ followed up to make sure I was satisfied with the work. Electricians, Plumbers and other trades....once I find a good one I trust they are then my go to guy/gal. MJ is my go to for anything electrical.

I had a bit of a unique situation since it aLso invoLved a 3rd party that I had to pay once I found an eLectrician, however he assured me he couLd and wouLd do the project for me, so I moved forward with paying the 3rd party for the lighting fixture I was purchasing and needed removed. After severaL emaiLs and foLLow up caLLs, Mike stopped responding and totaLLy fLaked on me a week before I needed him. I’m not one to write reviews, but this is NOT the way to run a business. He had both my emaiL and phone number-aLL he needed to do is to teLL me he was too busy, or didn’t want to do it anymore and I wouLd not be so upset, but to compLeteLy ignore me a week before and leave me scrambLing was so unbeLievabLy unprofessionaL. EspeciaLLy since I had aLready paid the 3rd party based on his word that he wouLd compLete this project for me. Might be time to invest in some customer service skiLLs..or just common courtesy.

Easy to work with, and I was impressed at how hard the electrician worked.

I called MJ Electric based on many recommendations from neighbors. They were fast to respond to my phone calls, a little more difficult to get repsonse from e-mails sent. The electrician sent out, Tim, is the best! very friendly, offered suggestions, made sure I was happy with everything he was doing, cleaned up after himself.The only downside that I had was one issue with a light fixture and how it was hung, I sent an e-mail about getting it changed but received a repsonse that the fixture could go either way. When I responded that this was not the case and I would prefer it changed I never heard anything back. Other than this one thing, everything else was supburb and I would defintely recommend MJ Electric to others.
