I like going to different therapists at different times so Thats the Rub works well for me because its not the same therapist every time (unless I choose).The booking process is simple, the prices are reasonable and the intake process and the welcome on site are smooth and fantastic.

I have been dealing with an old foot injury for years. After a session with Daniella I have been pain free for a week. Daniella is amazing! Great personality, fun to work with and clearly knows her craft. Got a 90 minutes deep rub with Samantha Willoughby. I appreciated the questions she asked before the massage, her use of the breath to begin and end the session, and the discussion of areas of the body that could use some attention outside of the appointment. Would highly recommend!

I love this place! I had a message the day before I delivered my daughter and it made my birthing experience amazing. I was relaxed and that feeling stayed with me through my delivery process. I had been in pain for weeks up to my delivery and this took a lot of the tension in my body away and let me finish the last hours of my pregnancy on a high note! I also bought a new and nursing mothers box that had several rubs, lotions, oils& bath salts in it. The brand was Farmaestetics. It was definitely calming through my postpartum and it was nice that it was all natural things I was putting onto my body. Lastly, the lady who gave me the message was also very kind!

I had been suffering from neurological issues for 3 months with no definite diagnosis from doctors despite multiple tests. I was going through occupational therapy and physical therapy but was unable to walk without a cane, read, drive or work. I decided to try a craniosacral massage and found Thats The Rub. After one craniosacral massage, I was walking normally, able to read and have started driving again. ONE MASSAGE AND ALL OF MY SYMPTOMS WERE GONE. Ive gotten a few massages here from Gabrielle and I LOVE it. The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is one of relaxation. The essential oils and products they have available make the whole place smell wonderful. Not to mention all the cool art and decor they have around as you walk back to the rooms! They also are smart enough to give you a bathroom key before your appointment, and even have a little sitting room where they give you tea when you finish! Cant recommend this place enough. My husband and I took a few days to get away for the week and wanted to spoil ourselves with a long massage. We were more than pleased to have found this establishment! We had Gabrielle and Lexie for our couple’s massage. If you are questioning any services at all, seriously, treat yourself! We left so relaxed that we were going to attempt to schedule massages the next day before we left, but we were unable to do so. We will definitely be back!

From the front staff and the convenient online scheduling to the Massage itself I experienced great customer focus. Chris was my therapist and provided a therapeutic massage. He focused exactly on the areas of concern and I felt immediate and lasting improvement. He is very well in tune with muscles and tensions and has great technique. Next time I am in Bloomington I will come back.

I was in town for summer school and rewarded myself with a 60-minute deep tissue massage with Kara. By far, my experience was the best massage I ever had in my life. She did really interesting techniques, especially for my face and upper chest that Id never experienced before. If I had had more time in Bloomington, I wouldve been back in a heartbeat! Highly recommended.

I was very happy with my time with Kara. As a first-time visitor, I was thinking about an “intake” meeting, to discuss my issues and goals, and which of your members would be most appropriate. The questionnaire did some of that, but would have been more useful if I had been given it before hand (electronically even) and had had more time to fill it out. Even getting there early, I was very rushed. And asked to fill it out in a mostly dark room (they did notice and turn the lights up some).

This place is amazing! The best massage center in Bloomington! The staff are friendly, accommodating, and professional! They will explain the process to you, or just let you enjoy the massage; depending on how you prefer to enjoy the experience. Thats the Rub also is extremely welcoming! They have this warm ambiance that would make everyone feel warm, safe, and welcome! I have tried a few different massage centers in Bloomington, and this one is the best hands down! You are doing yourself a disservice if you dont go to Thats the Rub!

I occasionally visit Thats The Rub in general, and have always liked them. However, in October I got in a car accident and have had a lot of lower back pain, so I have been visiting more often. Emily S. has been my therapist and she is the BEST massage therapist I have ever had. She has made a wonderful difference in my massage experience and is very helpful for me in my recovery. Thats the Rub has great staff- kind, empathetic, and helpful- from front desk on. Lots of cool stuff in the shop too. 10/10 would recommend

Ive been here twice and both times have been exceptional. The staff are very courteous and helpful, the location is very clean and professional looking, and the ambiance is relaxing. The real key though is the therapists. Both the therapists I have seen (Gabrielle and Kayla) were exceptionally skilled at their craft both in terms of customer service and in terms of their massage therapy. Ive had hundreds of massages in my lifetime and my two times here are both hands down in my top 5 both in overall experience and the quality of the service.

Ive had three massages here for specific problems and each time I feel the massage therapist has considered my issue and solved it each time. Kara in particular was especially knowledgeable about the trigger point that was causing me pain and was diligent in manipulating my muscles so I was pain-free. As an athlete I find it really valuable when someone can anticipate the issues Im having and preempt muscle tightness and lack of mobility. I cant recommend this place enough for their professional and knowledgeable massage therapists. Ill soon make an appointment for their waxing services as well because I trust them to vet their employees thoroughly.

I will definitely be back! As a women, it’s easy to always choose a women therapist. You want to go in and relax, and not feel awkward. Chris was extremely professional, kind, and made me feel very relaxed. I could not find a single thing for this place to improve on!

Was a bit nervous as a first timer but the staff, from reception to my therapist were so friendly and inviting I was indeed able to relax and enjoy myself. The room was comfortable, not too hot or cold, the table almost put me to sleep (its hard for me to fall asleep in public so thats something) and my therapist was perfection. She worked on places on my shoulders and neck I didnt even REALIZE hurt until she started. I look forward to booking my next visit and working out even more kinks in my shoulders and back. Highly recommend this great local business. And their shop smells great of course.

I received a gift certificate for an hour long massage for Mothers Day. It took me a while to get around to scheduling my time, but I am SO glad that I did. The receptionist was very welcoming and kind, offering me water or tea before filling out two very short forms. My massage therapist, Rachel, then met me in the warm reception area where we discussed my goals, preferences and any injuries. The massage room itself was warm and cozy (even on the coldest day of the year so far!), with a heated table and comfortable sheets. The music was soothing and comforting, too. Rachels massage was bliss. An hour of melty, companionable, soothing bliss. Checking out was done automatically while I sipped my complimentary tea. Thanks to Rachel and Elizabeth, I will be asking for Thats The Rub certificates for any and ALL occasions and sharing them as well. I will DEFINITELY be back!

TTR is great! They do exactly what you need; the therapist will take time to interview you to make sure that she knows exactly how massage can help you, and then makes it work. Its a wonderful, relaxing, and extremely helpful experience. Im a cyclist, and I dont think I ever felt as comfortable on my bike as I did the day after my first massage.

You cannot possibly go wrong here. Gabrielle, Rachel, Krystal and Holly have all done amazing therapeutic work on me and my husband. Frequent workouts leave us pretty battered at times, and the performance and deep tissue rubs will have you back in fighting shape. Their knowledge of anatomy is without equal.

I had an excellent experience, the staff was incredibly friendly and polite and my therapist was amazing. We got a bit of a late start, partially my fault and partially due to another client running long, but my therapist didnt skimp on time, gave me some great stretches, and had me laughing with stories about her dog. Needless to say, I scheduled another massage!

My wife and I got a couples massage. The second we walked in the door, we were taken care of and made to feel welcome. Our massage girls Gabrielle and Jess were awesome magical goddesses with hearts of gold. As first time parents, we didnt realize how much stress we had in our shoulders and necks and hips from picking up and holding our baby. Plus, we really enjoyed the time away from our baby to just relax. I cant recommend this place highly enough.

Thats the Rub was my first ever massage experience, and whenever I can afford it, I go back! The therapist was very personable and made my first massage very comfortable. She explained what exactly to expect, and was very receptive to my verbal and non-verbal cues. Very relaxed and calm atmosphere.

Had a couples massage rub for our wedding anniversary. Holly and Jackie were awesome and professional. My wife usually complains that massages arent hard enough and she didnt say that about Jackies. The massage I received from Holly was fantastic. I have a bad shoulder (pops in and out frequently) and it really hurt before the massage, but I didnt feel ANY pain in my shoulder afterward! I also have a wrist/thumb issue that felt better after the massage. This is the least amount of physical pain that I have been in for months!

Trained in Utah, the therapists were proficient on targeting health issues, and reducing stress. If I could afford it and if I lived in Bloomington, Id be a regular!

Fantastic! Ive had back problems since my time in the service and they did something that got rid of the pain for almost a week. You have no idea what it feels like being pain free after dealing with it so long. Even if it was just temporary.

This was my first visit to TTR, and it exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Especially important, since I was in for a therapeutic massage, was that the therapist took the time to sit with me and discuss my situation. I had my first shiatsu massage with Rachel Knight and I loved it! It gave me the energy boost I was looking for. Rachel is my therapist and I highly recommend her for either massages or holistic facials. She is amazing!I had my first holistic facial with Rachel a few days ago and I loved this new soothing spa experience. The natural products used to exfoliate were very gentle on my sensitive skin but effective. My skin had a very nice glow after the treatment. Also, I loved the natural scent of the farmaesthetics products and the facial also included a relaxing massage on my face, neck, shoulders, and arms. It was the perfect experience to relax and get a mood boost during the winter months.Update: I had the best deep tissue massage today. Lisa is amazing!Also, I am addicted to the hot stone rub. Rachel does an outstanding work.I have tried three different massages (the La-la, the rub, and the therapeutic rub) in this center and I love them all. I only know two therapists and I recommend them both (they are good identifying the right pressure and areas that need more attention). I will keep going to this place whether I need back/neck pain relief or just to relax. I like the atmosphere of their massage rooms (relaxing music, lightening, decoration, etc) and their super comfortable and warm massage tables. They also sell Farmaesthetics products that I love, such as the deep lavender rub. Finally, they offer a discount to IU students ($10 OFF for 1hr massage).
