I went to the shop was told by the owner goddess braids are $15 each and large corn braids are $10 each. I got 2 corn braids and the owner charged me $45 and said two braids are more expensive. After going back and forth with her I paid $40 and she just lost a long time customer. I will never go again after 20+ years. Oh and did I mention that the workmanship was horrible. I could have done a better job.

They talk about costumers in their native language.They continue to talk about customers when they leave .They up charge costumers .They charged a lady 120 for crochet ! They are overpriced. Their styling does not match the price the are asking for.They charged me an additional 20 after my hair was finished.however they are nice.They just overcharge :) If you didn’t know after 3 days they will charge you to fix your hair.

The workers here are not skilled and are unprofessional. Fighting and bad experience.I had my hair done at this braid salon. Couple of days later the braids were pulling my hair out from the terribly wrong braid pattern, bumps occurred, my scalp was sore and hair loss on my hairline because the braid pattern was done by a different person that completed my hair. My braids at the nape of my neck was sewed straight up and the pattern was cross-crossed in the middle with extension attached pulling from the front and the back of my hairline. The Owner came across as money hungry, giving me an attitude and losing her patience when talking to me - this is after I intervened on an assault at her salon!! She said “it is a business phone” when I called to speak with her, as if I was not a customer and this was not business. WARNING!!!

Honestly worst box braids ive ever gotten. Final product was nowhere near my desired look even though i showed the hairdresser a photo of what id like done. Rubber bands used to secure the braids are cheap and have almost all broken off within 24hrs of me getting my braids done. DO NOT RECOMMEND & WILL NEVER BE BACK!

This was my first time visiting this place in 7 yrs and honestly I wouldnt recommend it to anyone looking for a respectful environment. These ladies are rude and talk about customers and potential customers my entire time there. There are also some questionable practices regarding the hair they use. A customer didnt like the hair they added the stylist removed it and then put it back in the bag with the unused portion. On the upside the stylist are all good braiders.

Ive been going here for a few times and I never had an issue however this trip I was extremely disappointed I didnt get the style I asked for an was sitting in the chair for hours. The braids were dry an she didnt do anything for my natural hair.I will be recommending to everyone that I told to go there to never go again the employees here are extremely rude an didnt want to fix there mistake they really went down hill dont recommend at all

Firstly the owner is not an woman of her WORD! HER sister Mary braided my hair and quoted me one price then owner (speaking in her native language)charged me $100 moreonwer said she would straighten it out but never DID!OK I thought Ill give it another chance my hair is horrible and the owner still charged me $100 for something I dont like cutting them out as I type!!!

The 1st problem I have with their establishment is it is extremely cold in their. I went to get simple cornrows and it took 3 hours. I was overcharged $20 for a style I didnt really want. Once I change my hairstyle to make things quicker. I instantly felt uncomfortable because the women started to talk about me in their language. I always support black businesses in this pandemic but I will never return to this place👎🏾

Bad attitudes braids way to tight and hair they use infected my scalp. Very disrespectful and talks about how they hate Americans. I called and got an estimate for knotless braids for 150-160 dollars. I was told to come, wasnt busy (of course it was). Then they refer me to go to their sisterssalon where they tried to get 200 Dollars from me. When I tell them what I was quoted, one lady had an attitude and said ok. When to the salon which was down the street. They did a rush job on my hair. No moisture, dry AF braids. And did not properly execute knotless style. Braids hurt almost the entire time I had them. Never again

I never write reviews but just want to warn any customers. I did 6 cornrows for $100 which was extremely overpriced. I told them I paid about 60 or 70 in another place and they preceded to charge me 100. I should have just left there but it was almost done so I stayed. The braids came out nice but extremely overpriced for the service, and they told me the price after it was done. Dont get gipped!

I wouldnt normally write a review... however I wasted 240 dollars 250 with tips... the establishment is clean, the people were professional but the whole process took wayyyyy to long and was soooo tight that I developed scabs on my scalp. A week after getting my hair in faux locks I was forced to take them down... I get braids often and understand that pain that comes along with it but... I had to take tynenol to go to sleep... after the pain subsided, my scalp wouldnt stop itching. I tried sooo many rememdies and still was left with a itchy scalp. I took my hair out and my scalp is too tender to even wash my hair. Again I stress I am tender headed, and I wesr braids often, if not mostly but this was unbearable! My scalp was red and had scabs all over it. Another issues is what I asked for I didnt get. The faux locks was near but I stayed there for 9 hours to be disappointment. I was red bohemian locks and what I got was stiff faux lacks with curly ends.

She is over price she charged me $40 for a regular cornrow (just to braid my natural hair) as well as $2.50 for using my card and customer service is bad. Try to avoid this place if you can.

Though my hair came out lovely, it took too long to do. I got cornrows in the front and medium box braids in the back. It took 6 hours to do due to inconsistency. 3 different people ended up doing my hair at different times. They had too many heads and only 3 braiders so they would alternate. They are EXTREMELY expensive. I ended up paying $170. I dont even pay that much for small box braids in NY. Great space and very spacious but be considerate of people time and pockets. They told me one price and by the end of it it was a 10 dollars higher. Not sure if I will come back.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP! It’s many other braiding shops around , myself ( probably like most of you all googled and found something near my house). They first gave me a price of $160.00 for jumbo braids ( I had my own hair ) she finally agree to $120.00 The service is blah... multiple people braiding your hair at once. My braids are not symmetrical, they are not staying flat to my head, I have at least 4 different patterns & directions going on, it’s so frizzy...and I haven’t even had them a full day... Maybe about 12 hours. Every customer that walks in that shop needs to be aware of the scamming. I listened to her quote people all different WILD prices. I know your wondering well dang , why dint you say something about your hair ?! WELL, I did but the owner kept on reassuring me that my hair was going to turn out good! “ it’s going to look so pretty” well it look pretty bad. I asked to have one of the girls stop doing my hair because it was clear she was just learning. The response I got was “ don’t worry I am watching her” DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$ Or Time! The one star is just a place holder .... This shop gets ZERO STARS.08-03: Let me just add this update: So I went back to get my braids looked like and was told that my hair was cheap and that it’s not there problem. I was told not to come back. I will be calling whoever on Monday to report this shady business.

Just got my hair done today , I come here a few times and I’m really impressed with this hairstyle. The price was very negotiable and everyone was really nice. Will definitely return

After having a bad experience earlier in the day at another braiding shop. Amina saved my day. She took me and did an excellent job on my hair and in 3 hours. The shop was clean and customer service was impeccable. They now have a customer for life.

The women here are friendly. Ive been twice, once for bantu twist. The second time for lemonade braids. The second time I loved my hair, but when I got home the top of my head was in so much pain. It was just too tight. I recommend asking them to not braid so tight, but honestly they should know better. Very nice braids!! And she did them exactly like the picture!

I wanted a highly ponytail braided I looked terrible she put entirely way to much gel on my hair I had bumps al over black get all over my face that dried black I honestly got home and started crying this was supposed to be my birthday do I’m so upset came home and jumped in the shower shame on them for stealing money and using bad quality hair and gel

Ive been going there for years and it seemed like they charged me more for the same hairstyle every time I went. One time they had a girl who clearly didnt know how to do hair braiding and I had to say something. How can you have someone practicing on a client during business hours? Biggest issue? Since the last time I got braids done here, I now have a short patch of hair in the center of my head.

The finish product was good, but too too much talking, eating, checking their phones, watching videos, just poor customer service. That was my last visit! I rate them a 2 out of 10

I was told to come in because they had someone available But when I got there I had to wait then she put in my sew in I have spots in my head that’s exposed she sew in the track she did it the wrong way so I have a track that looks like a lump on the side of my hair they didn’t have a hot comb to lay my hair down because I had a lace front closer and she didn’t pluck it either she told me that it was between 60-80 to get my hair sew in but she changed me $120 Isk about regular box braids but don’t get a sew in here

I dont know where to start. if It was possible not to give any stars, I wouldnt give them NOT EVEN 1. This was my first time coming to this salon. And it was very convenient. Very short distance from where I live. To Begin , earlier in the week I spoke to the owner of the salon regarding my hair style choice and price. She gave me a set price and had scheduled a time in the week. The day comes and I was on time. I arrived at 4:30pm. There were 4 Braiders, and all where Occupied. Given that as it may. They have no respect for the customers time and patience. talked too much among themselves and on the phone, which took time away from the customer. There were also children that couldnt stay in one place. Being loud and disruptive, Where the mother/owner kept trying to correct them. I waited for over an hour. Didnt get seated until 6pm and yet didnt begin on my hair till 6:30 -7pm. My braiding hair process was continuously stopped by my braider going back and fourth between customers. Very unprofessional. I was very upset. I was the last customer. My choice of hair style shouldnt have take more the 2 1/2 and yet I was there till 12 am. Had the nerve to charge me 10 dollars more then what we discussed. Said because I asked for the braids to be a slight smaller , in which they did not do. It was till the same size. I will never be coming here again. They are over prices.. Unprofessional... lack customer service and disrespectful. A huge waist of my time from 4:30pm to 12 am for a 2 1/2 hour hair job.. Please. Please Please read reviews before coming to this place.

Went to get my hair braided in cornrows from this place and waited for a whole hour while 4 braiders were working on 2 people’ heads. The lady that braided my hair was laughing and talking way to much while eating and doing my hair at the same time. Not only that she had my braids crooked and I had to tell her several times that it was uneven. Not only that she had my hair sooo tight I had to take them out and went back the next day for them to fix it. A different lady had braided my hair and I asked her before she started if she had the right colors and that I wanted it dark at the top and light at bottom. She said yes she knows. I got up out the seat after she was done and my hair was not how I asked her. Then she gonna say “I should of told her that from the beginning” and I told her I did tell her and she had a nasty attitude. I ain’t coming back here everrr again. The only reason was I came was because I was referred and idk how they even do it. They don’t listen. I will just go back to MiMis on Central Ave they might be busy but they listen and take pride in their work.

Ive been going to this place since 2008. My mother use to take me here. I never knew why she suddenly change my braiding salon until recently.. I came in to get tree braid cornrows for just $65. Long story short my hair did not come out as expected and the owner first suggestion was to give them $40 to redo it. Now Im spending $105 to redo my hair correctly?! I said no and another women insisted to do my hair the very next week wed at 2:30. I told her I was off Tuesday not Wednesday but she said I would be done before 6 which is the time for my shift. I arrive at 2 and time passed and now its 5:00 still waiting to even BEGIN my hair. I ask her for my refund she tells me to wait two more hours, although I insisted on leaving at a decent time for work at 6 or come back tomorrow morning at 9 to get a refund. Im here at 9 still with no refund and I still obviously have to wait until they are free to start my hair. My issue is time is too valueble to be wasted by people saying one this and doing another. I also believe that is is VERY rude to ignore, laugh or tell the customer to wait until your done with other customers that came in the shop after you. Some one told me you have to be nasty for them to respect you, and that mentality is ridiculous because no business will last without respect being FIRST!! These women hereare VERY unprofessional, I usually never complain but the experience I had this week I have no choice but to complain and honestly sue because I still dont have money and my hair is not done.
