UPDATE: We were seen by a Dr. Amy Doll. She looked at my dads leg, did an ultrasound and blood work, and said nothing is wrong; go home and just keep it elevated. Over the course of just 2 days after, his pain and swelling continued to worsen. At that point, I was calling patient relations every hour with no response. I contacted the ER again to let them know it was getting worse. They said, word for word what do you want me to do about that?. After a few days, I took him to MDC where they found a 8 centimeter long hematoma and infection in his leg (his blood work showed his level was 4.9 when the normal is 1.4). We also found out that when Dr. Doll requested the ultrasound, they only looked at his waist to his knee. The issue was below his knee, in his calf. Horrible service by Sanford AND Dr.Doll.Experience couldnt have been any worse. Horrible manners from the front desk and had no beds available. While sitting there for 4 hours with my father, who was in pain due to a blood clot in his leg, we heard the same excuse used every hour. That excuse was that it was such a long wait time because they were cleaning 2 rooms and another 2 had people getting ready to go upstairs. They admitted that they call people back based on seriousness of issue but were calling people back before us who just had a headache and stomachache.

Awesome job by Colleen, Bob and the overnight ER Doc (forgot his name already). A lot of times when you visit an ER its not very personal and it can be alarming to get all the tests and scans done but these guys made it smooth and compassionate. Top notch.

I had one of my family members in the ER and the nurse up front told me I could go back and see him and as soon as I walk back there one of the rudest nurses I’ve ever met told me I have to go back and sit in the waiting room. Meanwhile everyone else who came in got to go in. They had multiple police come up to me to tell me to calm down but wouldn’t tell me anything. Would give 0 stars. Never going back to this hospital again. All they care about is the money.

Personally, I have always had just the type of experience here that most people would expect from an Emergency Room. Those experiences being that I had an awful time, experienced great amounts of stress, physical pain, and even some fear for my or others life. However, the staff was always very helpful and supportive, and often times I felt much better after I left. Your mileage may vary.😂 😉
