Had jaw surgery with Dr. Clark in 2016 was supposed to be double he ended up only doing upper. Saw him a few years ago with concerns of bite reopening just to be told everything looked fine which clearly was not fast forward to now I am having to see a new oral surgeon who is telling me he doesn’t understand why double was not performed. Now have to go through everything again. Incredibly frustrated as this is not an easy surgery it was totally brutal for me and now I am back to zero again when everything could’ve been fixed the first time.

I called this office to schedule an appointment for a 3D xray and then to also have my wisdom teeth removed. I had previously been in touch with the Trussville location. I had explained to them my needs and that receptionist rudely cut me off and refused to help me. The Birmingham location proceeded to explain that the 3D scan could only be done at the Trussville location and one other one that was too far for me to commute. After briefly speaking to this Birmingham receptionist I was transferred to someone else with no warning. This individual proceed to speak to me in a very degrading manner. She told me that I needed a referral (which I had) and that I was using the incorrect terminology. This may come as a surprise, but I didnt go to medical school and therefore dont know the exact scientific terminology for every little procedure and medical issue. Funnily enough, thats why I was actually going to professionals, or so I thought. I reconvened with my dentist and they were SHOCKED at the way that I was treated by both locations. I would never allow myself to be put under anesthesia under the care of people who clearly cannot show their clients basic human decency and respect. I have since chosen a different dental surgeon and when I called asking for a 3D xray instead of belittling me they told me thats exactly what they call the procedure. Im not sure what is stuck up yall backsides, but you need to get over yourselves. If youre looking for a trustworthy and reliable dental surgeon stay FAR FAR away from all Clarke & Holmes locations. They dont care about you.

Friendly staff, very friendly doctor. my only problem... I was sedated ,but I yelled out from an excruciating pain. though I was under, I felt the blade of the scalpel. I heard myself yell out from the pain. then heard the voice the woman saying something right after. after that I guess I was back out. I told my Daughter about this, whos a traveling surgical tect. she said they might have gave me more drugs to really put me under. realizing the what they gave me wasnt enough. she said they really wont know for sure, until something happens. not meaning to say anything bad about them. because I agree with my daughter. also I did research and it did say that at times some may feel pain, some wont. I hated the fact that I felt it, being I had a very bad experience from another dental clinic. so I was somewhat scared. but I thought, since I wont feel anything... would I go back? yes!.. because everyone were so nice, but this time I would say, could you triple the dose of the last time!

I had a great experience the wait wasn’t that long the nurse was very friendly the doctor was nice and friendly after your surgery the nurse call and check up on you a few hours later I would definitely recommend this place

Went in for a tooth extraction. They completely mangled my arm trying to insert the needle for the anesthesia. The anesthesia hadn’t even started working before they were already pulling the tooth. (I was awake and yelling in pain when I was supposed to be asleep) They were there for about 5 minutes for the extraction and now I’m home and I have broken shards of my tooth that they didn’t pull out. I’ll never go back. Terrible experience.

Have utilized Dr.Clarks services on several occasions. It has always been a good experience.Super professional staff. Most recently had an extraction.The extraction only took about 10 minutes but I never knew it happened. I thought I was continuing the same conversation I was having before the anesthesia......lol.

Excellent customer services from the front desk to the nurses to the doctor!! Dr. Holmes is an expert in his profession. He perform an implant for me and it went very smooth!!

The office appeared to be well organized. It was clean and both receptionist up front where friendly. The medical assistants where well versed in the trade and the woman who spoke to me directly regarding my upcoming surgery was thorough. The doctor was also polite and thorough. I am optimistic about my surgical outcome. I will recommend others to visit Dr. Clark and his staff.

Holmes is an excellent surgeon, and I was unsure about the procedure because I wasn’t well educated about to start, but I was well taught about it. The surgery went well and the surgery was very well done.

The actual surgery was fine. the nurses were good. the rest were rude impatient and unempathetic. one of the staff (i dont know which) told my gf to quit crying after she woke up from surgery and was left alone in a room for 15 mins. They also lied abbout their own competence saying it would take 30mins i waited for hours. Go to uab instead if you can

Wonderful experience when my daughter had her wisdom teeth out. Dr. Holmes was great. It was smooth and the ladies up front were wonderful.

DO NOT GO HEREMy boyfriend had work done here upon the recommendation of my dentist (whom I love) When we arrived they seemed very confused as to which teeth they were supposed to be pulling. I asked if they should call the dentist to double check and they said no, by looking at the x-rays it was pretty common sense as to what needed to be done. The procedure was quick, but that is not saying much considering the entire office was clearly in a rush which made more sense after the receptionist informed me they were trying to leave at noon that day. I got my boyfriend home and about an hour later he went to remove his gauze and noticed they had FORGOTTEN TO REMOVE TWO OF HIS TEETH. We had to go back and thankfully we had about 20 min to spare before they closed. Not once did they say out loud they forgot anything, they just quietly whisked him back and seemed to want to keep everything hush hush (again, trying to leave early). They never even apologized to us for the MAJOR inconvenience of having to be put out again, to have another surgery after the one he had an hour ago.After 2 months of waiting, any time I called to inquire about our bill or to get a break down everyone was extremely rude. Transferring me without stating what they were doing, getting an attitude over the phone. Not to mention I never once EVER got a call back from a voicemail I left, I always had to call back the next morning.Anyways, this place sucks. They seem fancy and like a well oiled machine but you are not their priority, believe me. Full of crotchety old ladies who pass the buck.

They were very good with hygiene and COVID risks I did not have any problems with the extractions. I must not have woke up fast enough because they did chest bone hits to wake me up. My chest was sore for days

Professional and Curtious...

I was very pleased with Dr. Holmes and his entire staff during my years seeing him. He removed a Squamos Cell Cancer from my tongue in 2014 and lymph nodes as a precautionary step a month after the first surgery. He followed up with me through the five year mark. I have recommended him several times to family and friends

Everyone was very kind, but it felt like I was being rushed. It seemed like they were all stressed just trying to get from person to person and I didn’t feel like they took time to give me all the information I needed before I had my wisdom teeth removed. My surgery went fine, and recovery was fine, but the care from the staff was extremely rushed and not personable.

Absolutely, a terrible experience, my thirteen year old daughter had her wisdom teeth surgically removed by Dr. Smith, at Clark & Holmes in Birmingham, Alabama today. Specifically, Miala, one of the post op care givers to my child, she was rude, and it was obvious there was not one stitch of care or passion for her occupation. She spoke to my daughter like she was a dog. While loading my daughter in the car she thought that I was taking a picture of her at the vehicle and spoke to me like a dog, stating she didn’t want to be in the photo, my camera was not even on. I asked for her name and she never answered and kept on walking. I called the front desk and spoke with Lisa in HR. If people conduct themselves in this manner providing a service to patrons then they at least should put on an act. She has absolutely no bedside manner and a terrible demeanor with no business working in this field with patients after they’ve woken up from a medical procedure especially with children. Extremely unprofessional not what I expected from a well recommended facility. I HAVE TO RECOMMEND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Surgery went really well. Closed my eyes then open them and everything was done. Everyone was very kind.

Waiting time was quite long whether you there for surgery or follow up... They are the one call us for followup and reschedule time of appointment. When we got there waited for hour and half. We asked the receptionist, how long it will take? She asked us what was our appointment time, really?will not recommending anyone 😟😡

OS was not receptive to questions. Did not seem friendly. They didnt state appointment was a work-in and waited 2 hours to be seen. After one hour of waiting, someone came to the waiting room to say the doctor was caught up at other practice. The extraction was completed the beginning of the year and I had to seek services from another doctor for my pain because I was only prescribed antibiotics when I went back to Dr. Clark. It took two and a half months to not have any difficulty chewing or even talking.

My daughter needed an extraction before orthodontic work could be performed on her teeth. Elaina is 14, and she was extremely nervous about the procedure. Dr. Holmes and staff was professional, kind, and reassuring with Elaina. The surgery was a success, and the orthodontist was thrilled with the amazing work!

They provided an outstanding service.

Dr. Clark is an M.D., D.M.D. which was the main reason I chose him. But I recommend him because he is wonderful. Seems genuinely caring, listens, answers questions and has a wonderful personality that makes you feel at ease.

The work done has excellent as one would expect from professionals. The only weakness has been with the scheduling involving multiple offices.

I went here for a wisdom tooth extraction. I had never been under general anesthesia before and was open about being nervous with the staff. They were able to put me under quickly and extract three impacted wisdom teeth without me feeling a thing. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a wisdom tooth extraction done.

Holmes has ruined my life forever from djs. I would never recommend. Won’t Nswer my calls and sends me to different specialists who say they can’t do anything. My whole face is numb for the rest of my life when they told me it would fully recover after my surgery. My jaw is in constant pain and no one seems to know why. I’ve been on a soft food diet for 1 year and it doesn’t work. If I wasn’t past the statute of limitations I’d sue these people for all they’re worth.

I went in for a simple procedure and was traumatized shortly afterwards. I was under local anesthesia (which is nothing new to me) however, I had ALL FEELING in the area he cut. I told the doctor I was in pain, he ignored me until I attempted to get out of the chair. He then demanded the staff to hold me down and put more medication through my BLOWN IV. The doctor handles my head so aggressivelyIt was the worst experience EVER, my mouth was swollen for 6weeks, with the expectations of a 2week recovery period. There was a feeling of uncertainty once I heard other patients screaming in the hall, and the doctor replied “all women are crazy”. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to no one!

I had an infection and asked for more antibiotics but was told over the phone they would not prescribe them and ended up having to visit urgent care to get the antibiotics i needed

Well over priced, sub par sutures job, grafting fell out, seems more like a jiffy lube for teeth.

The staff is great and you dont feel any pain.
