When I came to Dr. Newman, I had been told by my ophthalmologist that there was nothing wrong with my eyes despite the fact that I was suffering from constant eye fatigue, daily migraines and almost 24/7 nausea. I had actually done Vision Therapy as a child and benefited greatly from it then. In doing some research, I found Dr. Newman and made an appointment. Dr. Newman spent a lot of time with me and was very thorough with the tests she ran. Turns out I had quite a few issues with my eyes, some of which are trouble with eye tracking, fixation and teaming. Finally, there was an explanation for my migraines and nausea!Ive had about fifteen Vision Therapy sessions with Dr. Newman and my life has changed greatly. Not only have the tracking, fixation and teaming improved, but also my nausea and migraines are almost non-existent! Im actually able to get a lot more work done now because I dont have to keep taking breaks to rest my eyes. Whats more, Dr. Newman truly cares about her patients and their progress. Both her and Jeffery are encouraging, down-to-earth, patient and just a joy to be around. If youre experiencing seemingly unexplainable symptoms with your eyes, do yourself a favor and give Dr. Newman a call. I cant recommend her and her team enough!

I took my daughter Sarah here to get blue light glasses. Both Dr. Newman and Jeffrey were so helpful and made us feel very welcome. Dr Newman and Jeffery are both incredible at what they do, and some of the nicest people I have met. I completed 30 sessions of in-person vision therapy and can confidently say my vision, focus and overall eye health improved drastically. Im now on their Vivid Vision plan using the Oculus VR equipment, which has been great, but doesnt compare to the 1-on-1 training I received with Dr Newman! Dr. Charlotte Newman is knowledgeable and personable. Her exams are extremely thorough, taking advantage of both the skills and arts of diagnosing and prescribing. She neither starts nor limits her exam to glasses. She focuses on the health of your eyes, taking into consideration how you use them and what you want to see. If you have an appointment, you will most likely be the only one there, assuring you of Dr. Newmans undistracted attention. After getting your prescription, there are hundreds of frames to choose from -- basic and generic to high fashion designer frames. You will leave with great frames and knowing a lot more about your eyes and how to take care of them. I highly recommend this practice. Both Dr. Newman and optician, Mr. Jeffrey, will take very good care of you.

My experience with Dr. Newman optometry was nothing shy of wonderful. Ive been going to Dr Newman for years and I absolutely love her. Shes so thorough. She makes sure the prescription is exactly what it should be which is more than I can say for every other optometrist Ive ever been to. With other optometrists I used to get new glasses or contacts and they would make me dizzy and my eyes couldnt focus. I was always dismissed and told that I would just have to get used to them. With Dr. Newman, that has never been the case. I always leave with my prescription so precise that there has never been the need to get used to anything. I leave with perfect vision and clarity. She is one of a kind and I will never go anywhere else again for glasses and contacts.

Dr. Newman was assigned to me through my insurance and man was I lucky. Not only did she help me figure out why I had chronic itchy eye she helped me find the perfect glasses for my needs. I am an actor and I do a lot of staged readings and it was very hard to see the script and yet look up and focus quickly on my scene partner. She and her technicians created such a perfect pair of Progressive lenses on beautiful lightweight frames. I used to hate wearing glasses. Dr. Newman changed that. She’s also incredibly kind as informative as is her staff . I’m forever grateful.

Dr. Newman and her assistant Jeffery were very responsive when we paid out of pocket for two very expensive eye exams. However, when we asked for help getting authorization from our insurance for therapy that she recommended it took her office over three months to get back to me after several calls. Her office stated they submitted the authorization request, but was denied. When I called my insurance to follow up on the denial they said that it was never submitted or denied. I contacted my insurance myself to see if the therapy was something that was covered.My insurance said that the eye doctor would need to call my insurance to get a predetermination done - I HAD BEEN WAITING 3 months for this. When I followed up with Dr. Newmans office giving them the predetermination phone number, Jeffery bemoaned the fact that the would need to do that, he reminded me that he is too busy to make a call like that for my son - he is only one person at their office. After I said I would post on Google/Yelp only then did Dr. Newman call me or contact my insurance to get the authorization needed. DO NOT GO HERE!

Dr. Newman is an AMAZING doctor. She takes her time to examine eyes and answers all questions in detail. She cares a lot and educates you in detail if you ask her a question.I learned that she does vision therapy for kids and adults who may have lazy eyes or hidden vision problems that affects kids specially with reading and learning in school.

I am not only a client of dr Newman for prescriptional reasons and having glasses/contacts but also was apart of the Vision Therapy program. Just a year ago when I met Dr. Newman the first time I was skeptical of Vision Therapy and thought it was placebo or wouldnt deem any impactful results. I was wrong. Vision therapy actually helped me notice how symptoms that I simply accepted as things I had to deal with were actually fixable and not the norm My depth perception and ease of life have increased exponentially and I no longer experience chronic migraines- this is a symptom I previously had no idea related to my vision. I am able to study better, work better, do not get tired as easily and feel over all more relaxed. Definitely recommend this office if youre looking for a Doctor who will actually care about their clients and offer assistance in making your life easier. I’m sure Dr. Newman is one of the best optometrists in Los Angeles.I am writing this review only using my right eye. The reason why that is very special is because when I was 8 I experienced an impact trauma in my right eye that left me with extensive retinal laser surgery, an artificial lens and a large scar in the center of my cornea. I was able to see blurred colors but it wasn’t good enough vision for my brain to uptake so it left me with a lazy eye that I had the vast majority of growing up.When I was in college I was given a contact lens because my ophthalmologist said that other than the corneal scar there shouldn’t stop me from having good vision. The contact made me see better and got rid of my lazy eye but didn’t help much in the way of improving my vision. I could read massive letters, which was a great feat but still far from good vision.Its a really tough prescription to. Most doctors will just skip over my bad eye, replace the same prescription year after year and focus on keeping my good eye safe. Which is fine, but what if you did both? That’s where Dr. Newman comes in.Dr. Newman cares, a lot. When she speaks you can tell that she is really intelligent, but also caring enough to make sure that you understand everything about your situation. She will explain things that she is amazed at that no other doctors explained to you before. She is also caring towards your financial situation and is keenly aware on how to bill your insurance as well. I trust her completely.She took an entire hour to find me this new prescription. This new prescription has me seeing a 20/60. Which is only ten points higher than what the best case scenario outcome I had for a freaking corneal transplant. (I have looked into all options). Right now I am doing something that I haven’t been able to do since I was 8 years old. I am using only my right eye to type on the computer (Which honestly, I probably didn’t even do then). Also I am experiencing my brain slowly learning to use my right eye as the dominant eye when I open my left eye right now. (I took my left eye contact out, which with my new right eye contact makes it so I have substantially better vision than my left). Sure the font size is literally 30 right now, and my face is a foot away from my computer, but I can see.I thought I would share my experience, it’s quite amazing one, and people like Dr. Newman definitely need to be celebrated.
