Dr. Funari was excellent - a lovely combination of professionalism and patient-centered care. She explains her findings and advice in terms that are easy to understand and never seemed rushed.Re: Optical Shoppe, Frank was very helpful as I was picking out new glasses. He was willing to make suggestions and recommendations to meet my needs, but not pushy.Great place for vision care.

My husband has an optical floor blowout in a bad accident that required hospitalization, and staff would not let him see an ophthalmologist - only young inexperienced optometrist who never used instruments to measure eye placement. Administrator said “you have to climb the rings of the ladder before you see an ophthalmologist.” Incredibly rude arrogant people who should not be allowed to practice.

I am so grateful for the excellent care I have received from Dr. Sikder. She is very competent and very caring and I feel very fortunate to be her patient. I have never had a problem with the front desk staff or with making appointments. Out of perhaps 20 visits to this clinic in the last three years, I considered the wait times to be reasonable 19 out of the 20 times. Only once was there was a long wait but it was a patient with a very complicated emergency that needed a lot of attention.

This place is ridiculous. Why even make an appointment. We were here early for our appointment. Now its been 45 minutes past the time and we are still waiting. We traveled 2 1/2 hours for this appointment. Would have been nice to be seen on time so we could travel back home and get back at reasonable time. Top it all off we traveled in the storm which caused flooding. Very inconsiderate

The service is sooooooooooooooo bad, front desk is amazingly horrible. After waitingfor well over one hour past our scheduled appointment I went back up to the front desk to see if there was a problem. After standing behind only one person for 20 minutes waiting for them to finish the receptionist told me to stay in line and she was working on the people in front of me.........20 minutes to get his insurance info and she still could not get it correct.I left the line and not sure how much longer that person and everyone else waited behind me in line took.We ended leaving and never going back. We saw our Doctor go down the elevator and leave the office two times as we waited, the front desk would not give us any information on what was going on. The receptionist told us every appointment was 3 hour long and to read the papers they sent us.....................well we never got any papers from them about three hour wait. I even asked the person standing in line behind us if he got the paper about the three hours....he said NO, he did not. This was going to be our second visit and I thought the first one was bad, this was the topping on the cake.Avoid this place if you can. I never in my life have had to write a reviewlike this. The whole office needs some outside supervision, sorry they have anything to do with Johns Hopkins. We have had great service fromother Johns Hopkins services. Please, ......if you can inspect this entire office setup. They need HELP.............................

Dr. Adam S. Wenick successfully repaired retinal tears in both of my eyes. He was patient, gentle and VERY knowledgeable. I highly recommend him for retinal procedures.

Impossible to contact by phone. I have been trying to reschedule cataract surgery for 6 weeks now, but not yet been able to get through to do so. My left eye surgery in Baltimore went ok, and the staff was friendly, skilled and considerate. My followups were at the Bethesda location. The Bethesda technical and medical staff were perfunctory, inconsiderable and often just simply rude. I will likely have the right eye surgery done at another clinic.

Bad bedside manner - downright nasty and arrogant, I cant get a receipt for my co-pay so I cant put it on my flexible spending account, and they said they would get in touch with my insurance for preauthorization and never did it but also told me not to call about it. Basically, it was terrible service. They know they get patients with extra problems and special needs, which make this all more disappointing.

The doctors at the Wilmer Eye Institute have worked ceaselessly to treat my stubborn corneal ulcer. I was treated in Baltimore and Columbia, MD. I am forever grateful to Dr. Woreta and Dr. Daoud for their help. My vision is completely restored.

I visited Dr. Kraus because of a double vision problem and was impressed with the entire experience. Not only did I receive a prescription for prism glasses following a weeks trial with a paste-on sample, Charlotte at the front desk offered to fax my prescription to my optometrist to save me a trip from Ashburn, VA. to Bethesda. Kudos to all!!!

If I could give zero stars I would. Their scheduling staff are completely incompetent. I have come down to their office twice only to be turned away after making appointments over the phone.I now have to find another ophthalmologist after receiving an incorrect prescription from Dr. Krause.

I had cataract surgery 11 years ago, and developed complications that capsulotomy did not resolve and left me almost totally blind in one eye. I was referred to Dr. Liu of the Wilmer Institute, who perform a vitrectomy and restored my vision completely. He has been most efficient, caring and professional and I am so grateful to have received excellent care from him and the various staff of Hopkins involved in my care - both pre and post surgery. I recommend them very highly, especially Dr. Liu.

I wouldnt recommend Wilmer Eye Int. @ Johns Hopkins for a few reasons.First, each time weve had an appt. weve been in the waiting room for at least an hour.Second, each time we tried to ask the receptionist about the delay she was rude and certanly not skilled in her job.Third, we saw the doctor coming down the hall after waiting an hour but he topped it off by leaving again within a few minutes.Fourth and finally, the two ladies who tried to explain the delays were much more receptive to our complaints but still full of excuses. One mistake is certainly forgiven but constant problems is a sign not to waste your time. Too bad they cant hire qualified office staff.

Ir used to be personalized top notch care ... now its a factory and teaching based ideology for eye care, Shame shame shame on Wilmer Eye Institute.Went to make appointment today as I noticed my eyes sight changing and some kind of episode yesterday with flashing lights and I could read letters. 1st available appointment with the self appointed gods of eye care in Mar 30 2018. Where are the days of Dr. Arnold Patz vision? When I 6 years old Sr. Arnold Patz, one of the pioneers of laser surgery ... got out of bed at 11pm and rushed to Sinai hospital in Baltimore, MD and SAVED my sight in my right eye .. I had accidentally stuck a scissors in my eye,. Nowadays you have to wait months to see emdiocrity if GOD FOBID I dont lose my sight.

Dont use street parking. Parking limit is 2 hours, and Ive been waiting here for an hour already -- and they cant tell me how much longer before I see the doc. Why does Wilmer tell patients to come in 15 minutes before scheduled appointment, just to have you SIT IN THE RECEPTION AREA?

Dr. Woreta is great but I know that Dr Sikder put in the wrong lens in my left eye. My vision in that eye is quite poor compared to my right eye which was done by Dr. Sidker. I see much better in that eye. Pre-both surgeries the difference between my eyes was not that different.Vivian

This place is a joke. The whole office is set up to do nothing but make money. Before you even see a doctor, they run test after test after test, whether you need them or not. Nobody tells you what the test are or what they are for. The fact that the offices look more like a retail store to sell glasses should have been a tip off, but I was shuffled from room to room for an hour before I finally gave up hope of ever seeing a doctor, despite telling multiple technicians that I wasnt there for tests, but to have a conversation with a doctor. Why is it that no one in the medical field seems to realize that they are in a service industry and we are customers who can choose to go elsewhere? Go elsewhere and save yourself some time and money.
