We have been paying to play soccer for the Y. Two weeks ago we were kicked off of the practice field to let another team practice. I emailed the director and did not receive a response when I asked why we are having to pay for this but not able to use the appropriate practice field when all other teams in our age range have been able to use the field to practice and somehow every week, only our team gets moved to a tiny field. Then no ref showed up to our game that Saturday. A parent volunteered to ref until someone became available. Once one was available, he was sitting on an empty field on his phone and our coaches had to go ask him to ref our game. The next week, the ref clearly didn’t know the rules of soccer and he was allowing the other time to shove, elbow and push. Now here we are at practice and have again, been kicked off the practice field to allow another team to practice, instead of us, at our scheduled time. The staff fails to communicate and/or they have a lot of misunderstandings, the director doesn’t respond or provide resolutions. Or maybe they just don’t care.***Edit: The director did email me back after my 2nd email about two weeks later. Apparently we are supposed to be alternating using the practice field and none of the coaches or staff were told that. Last week at our game, we started late and the refs cut the game off at 45 minutes, instead of an hour, like they usually play for. Just speculating….I think part of the problem is there are a bunch of kids running the facility, who don’t really want to be there.

Today was my first time back to the pool since the pandemic started and it was wonderful! I was surprised to find that the pool just recently had a facelift and it has glistening white grout and new tile inside the pool. Amazing. I am in a lot of pain now but I will have to work through it as a build my body back up through physical therapy to avoid using a cane or walker. #lupusawareness #rheumatoidarthritis #autoimmuneawareness

I never even thought of becoming a member of the YMCA until my family started coming about a year ago. I enjoy seeing Trystan at the front desk when I visit during the mid-afternoon. Shes very professional and friendly!!

Growing frustrated with this location. They post up front their basketball gym is open 3-5 on Saturdays, but then close at 4. We have people paying day passes to only get an hour of basket time. I want to like this place and continue a membership, but the hours they have the basketball goals available is just not enough to make a membership worth it.

I would give a better rating as I thought this was going to be a great investment for my family but due to not having a checking account, we have been excluded from membership. Of course I have already paid the joining fee as well as 3 months of service for them to wait until now to tell me that I cannot continue my membership without a checking account. I also have two children who are enrolled in sports who are going to be very disappointed. I guess if you have a checking account the membership is nice to have, but beware that depending on who you talk to on any particular day, their policies may change

The pool at the Bethany Y has wide lanes and is rarely too crowded. I love that I can swim at any Y depending on my schedule, even when I’m in another state on vacation!

Highly recommend any parents-especially with small children to find another YMCA or gym other than this one. The childcare center is really concerning for a few reasons. 1) the sign in system is reliant only on the staff members memory of whos child belongs to what parent, which brings me to number 2) they are incredibly understaffed and 3) their method of alerting parents to get their child or baby that has been upset for an extended period of time is to physically walk into the gym to find them (all the times I have went there have only been 1-2 staff members and more infants that need to be held than are available-not to mention the ages 3+ kids!I have taken my 6 month old and 3 year old a total of 3 times hoping I just saw an off day, or maybe was being overly critical of the whole environment and each experience kept getting worse. The second trip I had to stop a small child from leaving the room as I was entering which the staff members didnt even notice. My 6 month old son had apparently been crying for a long time and he had a blow out diaper that was already drying he had been in it for so long as well as a large scrape down his leg that was red and raised. No explanation. A couple weeks later I thought I would give it one more try and this time there was only one staff member and a volunteer and possibly 15 kids under the age of 6. The equipment is FILTHY and as I walk in to pick my kids up the volunteer is changing his diaper and putting it on backwards on top of a changing table pad that used to be white Im assuming, but was covered in old stains. Most of the baby equipment has literal dust on it and I dont know how often they clean the room! I also noticed a small child probably around 2 eating goldfish and trying to hand them to babies younger than she. Kids should be eating snacks supervised and in a contained area away from younger children.Honestly, the list actually goes on and on. I think the staff in the room are doing the best they can, but management should be staffing these rooms correctly and NEED to update the check in/out system and thoroughly clean the room FOR STARTERS.

Really poor experience when trying to host a birthday party here. There was zero communication between the person who took our reservation and our deposit and the staff that were actually working the front desk. They had zero notice, nothing was planned, it was a scramble on the front desk staff to setup out room. This is not a poor reflection on the front desk staff, they worked very hard to try to make everything great. The managers of this location let down a lot of people today, including their employees.

I walked in the Bethany YMCA at 6:15pm on 1/31/17 so I could workout. After I signed in, I went in the childcare room to drop off my 3 children (3 mo, 3 yrs, and 7 yrs). There was one staff (well call her staff A) at the time and MANY children including 2 infants and a toddler that had been crying so much she was nearly sick already yet she was fine with me leaving my 3 children. I hesitate in leaving them... I go ahead and sign them in. I change my baby and sit down and nurse her. The second staff (well call her staff B) finally showed up and they finally got the hysterical toddlers mother. Then older baby starts crying. Staff B watches older baby and comments on him crying yet watches him cry for roughly 3 minutes without consoling him. Staff B finally gets him out of his carseat and changes his diaper. Baby boy is roughly 4 months old. She walks around the other side of the trash can to get a bag for the diaper. Baby is still crying on the changing table and now out of arms reach of any adult. Staff B then picks baby boy up and tries to calm him while staff A gets his bottle ready. Neither staff knows baby boys name, age, or any idea who his parent is. Baby boy is still crying and too upset to take his bottle. New parent drops off her toddler then asks to hold crying baby (not her baby nor does she know baby), staff hands baby to random parent. Random parent attempts to calm baby boy while staff A and B try to figure out who baby boy is. I suggest looking at the sign in paper to look at ages to narrow it down. Staff finally figures out who baby boy is and works on finding his parent. Front desk lady walks in (well call her staff C) and asks staff who lady is holding crying baby boy, both staff A and B say they dont know that she was dropping off her daughter. Staff C asks random parent if she knows baby boy and she says she doesnt that she was just trying to help. Staff C then takes baby boy from random parent. As this is happening, I am taking things out of the baby bed in the corner of the room since staff says the infant swing is broke. I get all the toys out of the bed and see mouse poop on the bed sheet in the baby bed. I show staff C this and she claims that the bed is not used often. I then tell my big kids to get ready and explain to staff I do not feel comfortable leaving my children and leave the childcare room. I am fully disgusted with this entire experience and will not be taking my children back to the Bethany YMCA. I have pictures of the mouse poop on the baby bed.

Very poor personal conduct from the staff such a shame when the YMCA is supposed to represent and embrace equality and respect. Their manner is not conducive to the ethics The YMCA is known for. New Members be aware.

Great gym. Easy on my bank account 😄👍🏻 The people who work here put up with a lot of nonsense from the customers and still do a great job. They went from becoming ymca employees to people I look forward to seeing every day. They’re great and I very much appreciate what they do

I’ve been coming to this ymca for 10yrs, remodeled weight room a couple years ago made it a big improvement. Weekday evenings get crowded especially for a smaller gym, Dumbbells only go up to 100#, no bounce plates for heavy power lifting, free weight area is small but good equipment. Staff is pretty cool. I’ll keep coming.
