Both of the doctors I have seen (Dr. Sharf and Dr. Heather) are very friendly and compassionate and made sure I wasnt having any major problems that I was concerned about. The nurses I have seen were great. The staff is really helpful and nice and their billing even went above and beyond for me and refunded me for service I had to pay out of pocket. They care about the safety of their clients and make sure everyone is masked. Really glad I found them.

I was surprised to see these guys had negative reviews. I’ve gone to tons of different doctors and clinics (I’ve moved around a lot) and these guys have definitely been fine for me. Overall, I’d say quite good. Sharf is definitely ‘east coast’ but he’s smart, honest, and a good doctor I’d say. It’s always been easy to schedule with them. The labs people are nice.Honestly, just not sure how they got bad reviews. They’ve been really straightforward and good for me.

Dr. Sharf, all the nurses, lab and billing staff are great. For the life of me I can’t understand the negative reviews posted. Sure at times there are waits (no different than any other clinic, medical emergencies happen and urgent care gets first right), sometimes things aren’t always perfect but I have recommended this place to numerous people over the years and would continue to. Furthermore everyone I’ve referred have also been happy with the care they’ve received. All around excellent practice, we should all be so lucky imho.

Dr. Sharf saved my back after 25 years of misdiagnosis w my old doc, to whom I was loyal to a fault. He has been great all around for the last 12 years, w good calls on all my ills including differentiating hernia and diverticulitis, right on both times, and I am glad to be in his and his able staffs care.

I had my first teledoctorvisit today with Dr. Stout. It went incredibly smooth and the interaction was every bit as professional as in person visit. I am aware that everyone cannot do this type of doctor/patient interaction but for me it was perfect. Dr. Stout was great.

I’m venting about an issue I had happen at my last appointment. I just can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve been a patient here for 5 years and I have a wonderful doctor here. My doctor was fully booked so they had me see a ANP. I take pain medication and that’s what my appointment was for. She seemed pleasant enough. But when she realized I was there to get my monthly prescription for pain medication her demeanor changed somewhat. She seemed a bit stern, just a bit, but I could tell. We were finished with my appointment but then she said I had a urine drug screen due. Ok I said. No problem I do them whenever they tell me I have one. So she walks out and I’m waiting for her or her nurse to come back in with my prescription and my lab order. It’s a while before the nurse comes in but that’s fine I know how busy they can be. The nurse doesn’t give me a lab slip she has a urine cup and is asking me to confirm my name and date of birth on the cup. So I did but thinking to myself hmm this must be something new. Because I usually get a lab slip and then I go to the lab give them my paperwork they give me a cup I go into the bathroom do my thing leave it in the window and I’m on my way. Well she tells me to follow her to the bathroom she gives me the cup and stands outside the door! I’m like ok this isn’t the norm. I started feeling like because I’m taking pain medication I was treated differently. I’ve never in the 5 years of going there had that experience. It was demeaning. I asked the nurse if this was a new process and she said the lab doesn’t want to be responsible for the urine. Wait what ? It’s going to the lab! I know some of the employees that work in the lab and that was the first they’ve heard of it! Idk why it happened that way but I felt I was treated with “shame on you”for taking pain medication! But then I keep saying maybe they’re doing this way because of the virus? Not sure. Maybe I should call and ask but I don’t want to over step. I just had to get that off my chest. I know some people abuse pain medication and reck it for the ones that truly need it. But that shouldn’t cement it for all of us! I hope it’s not a new way they’re doing it because it’s udemeaning. What do they think your going to run! Walking you to the bathroom and standing outside the door waiting really makes you feel like you’re treating different . Oh and the ANP says to me as she’s walking out the door, make sure you make your next appointment with your normal doctor and not me! Well I wanted to see my normal doctor in the first place so why would I make appointment to see you again?! Please know I have been coming here and seeing my normal doctor for 5 years and like him and his nurses. They are great!

I continue to receive terrific advice and treatment from Dr Roger Sharf, and his team of caregivers. I just returned from an appointment, and found the experience informative and helpful. I like the trust I feel with the folks at Associates in Family Medicine and would recommend them to anyone.Just sending a few words of support back to the people who have supported me so well. It wasnt so much the care, the PA was very nice but its the billing department and why I will never get care here again. They are ruthless and extremely rude. I had a small bill and forgot one payment and they were already sending me a threatening letter to collections and that they would no longer be providing me care and gave me a Whatcom county list of providers. First off I had one appointment so I guess thank you for all the care youve given me and I can find my own provider and it will definitely not be with this place.

One star (or maybe two) for telephone customer service -- its often hard to reach them (the phone just rings and rings). When I am able to talk to someone, the treatment Ive gotten has frequently been curt, and sometimes rude. I know they have a hard job, but there is no excuse for this. I only keep going there because of my doctor and PA. And Ive been going there for many years. I finally decided to say something about it.Five stars for the medical professionals Ive deal with

I gave a very poor review a few months ago of one of Dr Scarff’s PAs. Today I am waiting to be seen by the very same person who I now realize was having a bad day. In retrospect, I was very judgmental. Since then I have been very impressed with the good response time in answering call’s etc. I hope to mend fences today. .....wonderful appointment. Extremely understanding and knowledgeable PA. I apologized and think things are OK between us. At least I feel better trying to make amends.

Very disappointed. Lifetime family doctor but cant see because of new rules on seeing your doctor. If you havent seen them in 3 years, youre a new patient and cant get in. My family has been coming here for years, nothing but a good experience, sometimes they are busy and there is a wait, it is a doctors office that is normal. The front desk, Nurses and Doctors are all very attentive. The other reviews here make no sense to me, most people only do a review if they have a bad experience.

I wish I could give this place NO stars because it is the absolute WORST place to go to. I recommend taking your business somewhere else where someone cares about your health and well-being.Where do I start? Their customer service and receptionists are rude and act like you are disrupting their day. They hardly give you the time of day and act like you are a BURDEN when you come in for an appointment.Next, I had an appointment scheduled and someone was kind enough to schedule me on a Saturday (mind you, this is an emergency). They called me back to re-schedule my appointment because they couldnt get me in for a week. I called back to talk to the nurse, they put me on hold for 10 minutes. I hung up and called back, and they wouldnt let me talk to her they just rudely recommended I go to the walk-in clinic or the emergency room?I wouldnt recommend this place AT ALL. Take your business somewhere else where someone actually cares about you.

For the most part I like the doctors, and there are a handfull of nurses I really like, but the customer service is not good. Dont expect to get called back if you need something or have questions. Seems like they are either too busy, or the communication between front and back of house is lacking. If you dont go to the doctor much it is fine, but if you go often it will wear on you.

Tried to make an appointment, was put on hold for 15 minutes. Called back and spoke with a woman who was barely polite. She was a little more polite once I told her I had premera. I was not able to schedule an appointment, however, because they have a policy not to see any new patients after 3pm. Well I own my own business and I work every day until after three- no days off. She didnt seem to care, and just kept saying well call us when youre available before three. Oh, ok. Way to help out the community.

I have gone to associates and family medicine through my teens. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism there about 4 years ago, and they prescribed me levothyroxine for it. I went to fairhaven integrative health a couple months ago, as associates in family medicine was useless when it came to problems they can not just send a quick prescription for. My doctor there did blood work and found out that I have been missing a second part to my medication the entire time I’ve had hypothyroidism. Associates and family medicines completely missed the fact that I need to be taking liothyroxine as well as levothyroxine, and did not test me completely for my hypothyroidism.

I am an old woman who went to this facility for over 15 years. Since moving I have had a difficult time with finding a new facility. At Associates in Family Medicine I was always treated like a real person. It was believed that having had this body for 60+ years I had some idea how it felt and worked. In other offices I am patient #564 with xxx problem and xxx difficulty and am treated accordingly regardless of any information I try to share about past experiences. I and my husband miss AFM very much and would like to continue there if it did not take 2 days to come and go.

I like my doctor here. A lot. I also like the staff **when Im there. However, their follow up has been atrocious. I give them a two only for the staff when I am there.I went in 2 months ago for the first time from hospitalization - DKA - found out Im a Type 1 Diabetic. At that time, we discussed moving me from the hospital prescribed syringes and insulin to a pen that is easier to use. We also added birth control. I showed up to my pharmacist to find nothing had been called in 4 days later. It took over a month of my pharmacist calling three times in that month to get what I needed. Its like they forgot what we discussed entirely, then everyone was calling me to confirm what I wanted (the doc office called once)- apparently never finding a resolution. I guess they gave up. I never heard from them about my insulin again. (btw- Im entirely insulin dependent to live day-to-day)No worries, I had another aptmt scheduled at the doc where I thought we could clear things up, and I was still on a script from the hospital. I did get birth control through that back-and-forth, but no insulin prescription. The next appointment, we went over it again, and talked about the insulin pen the doc described in our first visit. A nice nurse (whos also diabetic and understands) gave me sample pens which gets me thru 3 months.I made an appointment this last week (2 months later) to talk look at a toe that I thought may be broken. They looked, and sent me to xray. We also talked again about the insulin pen prescription I would need very soon when the last sample ran out.I was told this would be sent to my pharmacist at that moment of conversation.I was called by their follow-up people, and the voicemail said, Your toe did not show any fractures. Have a nice day! (basically). Further, the voicemail went on about my obvious bunion from a car accident 30 years ago (thank you Captain Obvious) that they seemed to focus on my deformity during the appointment - where I was very clear that this other deformity was not a problem or a pain for me in any way.So Im 4 days since a reported problem as a Type 1 Diabetic with a swollen and very sore toe with a 1/2 opaque nail that I can cut into the bottom of (like its not attached), and no one can even get the insulin pen I requested 2 month ago to the pharmacist much less give me any idea of what I can do about the ability to walk without pain.In short, Im looking for a new doctor, and as someone new to the area, Im happy for references. How long do you think it will take for me to find a doc office that cares more than this?

I cant say anything about all of the doctors there, who all may be extremely kind, but my experience with Julie Kahnamoui was horrible and I wasnt even the patient. My friend went in for an STD test, something very scary and personal especially for someone at the age of 18. The doctor treated her with disrespect and was extrememly judgemental. My friend felt nothing but discomfort, which is not how you should feel with your legs in stirrups and your mind thinking the worst. Not only did she imply that my friend slept around (when she has only been with one person), she implied that I had as well. I had not said a single word the entire time and just by looking at me, the doctor assumed I should spend more time studying to quote. My friend and I left both feeling extremely offended.

Sat and waited for almost an hour for a prescription refill, on top of waiting 15 mins past my appointment time in the waiting room. Heather Keddie had terrible bedside manner, trying to make me talk about my dying grandmother, and not concerned at all that I had been waiting an hour for her. The billing department consists of liars, the lead named Leslie specifically, telling me one thing then after calling my insurance finding out it was a flat out lie. Ive been put on hold and forgotten about multiple times and have been trying to get medical records for weeks now. Do not waste your time here.
