When I got to that place I was amazed, all those pictures in Ghana it is just amazing how this doctor has helped those people I thought to myself it must be a good doctor, good heart and he likes to deal with people. I have a PhD in social science and have worked in many places observing the volunteer work around the word and this was something beautiful that was seeing I was walking around seeing all that work and I was waiting for someone more emphatic but I jumped to conclusions I had a bad experience, a terrible experience. Purpose and passion has to be shared not matter who you are taking care of. It is very simple and medicine it is for sure something that you have to work on your empathy if you dont have none. First the technician did everything, then after waiting for almost 1 hour I saw the doctor. He asked me some questions that I had already answered to the technician and was right there in front of him. He was ignoring the real reason I was there. I knew I had to change my glasses but I went there to look into something else - an inflammation triggered after pink eye, told him that it was hurting and I had blurry vision - things of the age, cataract - What? I have read about cataract and I dont have the symptoms, are you considering that I had pink eyes? What makes you think is cataract? Very impatient and rude he looked the numbers and results from the technician and took a look in my eyes again saying I jumped to a conclusion it is just an inflammation then went out and other person wrote my prescription. I said thank you to the doctor and he did not even answered. I can say it was only 5 minutes. Interesting how they treat us like they are doing a favor - we are paying you.

Dr Gilbert is a great and caring Dr, a rare commodity these days. His team works great together led by Trevor under the premise of taking care of the patients! They follow thru with what they say and do truly amazing work. Thank you, we appreciate you and your team more than you know.

This is a 120 second doctor! I visited his office last week. Assistants did all the work, including prescribing my eyes. Gilbert came in very quickly looked into my eyes . He said it is a bit dry but did not recommend any treatment or next steps. He did not even check if his assistants increased my prescription for the right reason or just because I told them I did not see as well as last year! He spent 2min in the room and left! You better off to get your eyes checked with an optometrist than go to him and only get service from assistants! I will never go back!

I have been a patient of Dr. Gilberts for years. He has been the only doctor to correctly diagnosis by vision issue. I recommend him to all of my friends and family.

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Gilbert for many years. He has always provided us with excellent care in a friendly manner, and we have total confidence in him. I waited a several years before opting for my cataract surgeries. Once I decided to go forward, the surgeries, and the excellent pre and post op care I received from Dr. Gilbert, the Northwest Vision staff, and the surgical staff exceeded my expectations in every way. The surgery was very quick, totally painless, and anxiety free for me. My post surgery vision is awesome! I would highly recommend Dr. Gilbert, Dr. Wickenburg, and everyone at Northwest Vision to anyone without reservation!

Im writing this review in regards to Dr Michael Gilbert. Dr Gilbert has saved my eye health a number of times in incredible ways. He has had to correct the mistakes of numerous other eye doctors I have seen in the past regarding their misdiagnoses and/or treatment. Dr Gilbert is a fantastic Ophthalmologist. You do not want to put your vision in the care of anyone else. He is probably the best eye doctor/surgeon in the Northwest, and my complete hero.

I saw Dr. Gilbert for a general eye consultation. While he had a very friendly staff and comfortable office, he was absolutely the worst doctor I have ever encountered. The eye exam was performed by the technician. Early on in the appointment there were a good deal of question regarding dry eyes, itchiness, pain, etc. I answered no to all of these questions, but when I was passed off to a second technician/scribe, she said that I had scored high on dry eyes answers at my check-in. I had her read me my answers back; they had all been recorded as yes despite my saying no to the first technician. After waiting 30 minutes for Dr. Gilbert, he came in, shook my hand, explained dry eyes to me (I had already been forced to sit through a video) and said I would need an imaging test to check the health of my meibomian glands. When asked whether the imaging was necessary in someone as young (26) and as healthy (I had reported no symptoms) as me, especially since if might not be fully covered by insurance, he became very upset, yelling about establishing a baseline and told me I was too young to be losing body parts (the glands). He was dramatic, unprofessional and a complete narcissist. In the end, I told the second technician I did not wish to have the imaging test done. Not sure who is writing all of these positive reviews, but I would highly recommend looking for an eye doctor elsewhere if you value care and professionalism.
