I’ve been going to this doctor for the last 12 years. Dr. Charles is a good doctor and most of the nurses are too. The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful.

This Dr should have his license taken away. He had a horrible beside manner, rude and dismissive. He offered absolutely no insight or concern for my head injury. I found other professionals who took my injury and condition seriously.

I visited Dr. Charles because I suffer from chronic migraines. I had gone to a different neurologist in the past and didnt get the treatment I needed. On my first visit with Dr. Charles he took his time asking questions and discussing my concerns. He gave me medication and I have been migraine free for almost a week. He sent me for an MRI and gave me treatment plan. The staff was very friendly and he was great! I was hesitant because of the reviews I read, but so happy I gave him a chance!

Dr. Charles Negligence could have cost me my mobility if I had not gotten private medical help. SHAME on HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Worker Comp. sent me to Dr. Charles in Bayonne for an examination after a blow to the head that broke my nose and I was also experienceing headaches and memory issues. The doctor had a student observer during the examination. They explained to me that in some cases headaches and memory loss happened when receiving a forceful blow to the head. The doctor prescribed a device to help with migraines, but I was refused the device as it was some type of payment issue with First Managed Care Options Inc. My workers comp. told me they would set up another appointment with the neurologist and he could give me shots for the issue and that would be approved. I returned to Dr. Charles and he seemed to rush me in and out of the office as I was cut off from further treatment from workers comp. He said he was trying to help me and put two needles in my occipital lobes and told me it would help with the headaches and that I could leave. I asked him what to do about the memory issues I was still having, and he told me he could not help me anymore and suggested I had Alzheimer’s as he was walking out of the room. I was dumbfounded by his response as it was so unlike the response, I had gotten from the first office visit. I went to my doctor I told him what had happened and asked him about Alzheimer’s. He simply asked, “did you have memory problems before being hit in the head?” I replied “no”. He said that then I did not have Alzheimer’s and explained that it happens after concussions sometimes and I should be patient and try to do memory type games. He also sent me for brain MRI to rule out any other trouble. It came back clear. He ordered another test that my insurance refuse to approve. I continue to see my primary care physician for checkups as usual every 6 months. I continued to tell him about my neck and back pain, and he suggested I go to see a pain management doctor who did MRIs before treating me to see what what actually causing the problems. They did not look too good. She advised me to see a Neurosurgeon. My Neurosurgeon gave me a physical examination, and review of MRI’s. After examination and testing he told me I have spinal cord compression and serious nerve issues that if left untreated would only get worse and affect my muscles in the future as well. I got 3 more opinions and all said that I had serious nerve and spinal cord compression that left untreated would soon affect my muscles and I would have unrevearsible loss of my arms and legs. All told me that I required Anterior Cervical Decompression and Fusion of 3 or 4 of my Cervical discs to stop the further dammage so I have the surgery.Dr. Charles Negligence could have cost me my mobility if I had not gotten private medical help. SHAME on HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First appointment was OK.. 2nd: Appointment: Completely dismissed after speaking to me for literally 3 minute! 3MINUTES!...VERY Rude, refused to listen and tried to steer the conversation to psychological and not neurological and then gave me basically a bum rush out of his office❗❗

Kind, gentle soul of a doc, whos thorough and informative and values your time. The location is a sweet old house in Bayonne across from a park. I felt better just entering the place. The staff is cool and especially nice too.

I visited Dr.Charles office twice the first time was ok not as bad as the second time. Once he realized I was there for the same injury he became very rude and angry towards me. I tried to explain my new symptoms to him, but he disregarded everything I said. I tried to explain to him that I had none of these symptoms prior to my injury, and he just wasn’t trying to hear me. I will be getting a second opinion even if I have to pay for it myself. This was by far the worse experience I ever had with a medical professional. The staff was great, but him not so much.

‼️Warning: The WORST DOCTOR I have ever encountered! Especially if visiting for workers comp, immediately request another doctor. Unprofessional, rude, not willing to listen, and fabricates false reports/diagnosis in order to “pass the buck” and will avoid responsibility for proper treatment. Don’t waste your time or money.‼️

STAY AWAY FROM HIM.He is useless. I took my wife and all he did was gave her a pouch of powder and a sleeping pill, whereas, her condition was something absolutely different. I wasted my copayment and time.

He is a fraud.......all he is concerned about is referrals. And if your on medicare, he overcharges and makes you pay a copay that is larger than the approved med allowance for patient pay.My daughter went to him and described my condition. he said to come in and he would treat the problem without surgery. Unrelated to the primary issue, all he was concern with was a referral for an unrelated problem.Go to another Provider at all costs.............

My son is a patient of Dr. Charles, my sons medication was not going to be covered by his insurance and Dr. Charles and Jocelyn his secretary were more than helpful in filling out paper work to see if a company would help him with his meds. I cannot thank Dr. Charles and Jocelyn for all their help in the process. The staff and the doctor in this office are true professionals. Once again thank you Dr. Charles and Jocelyn:)
