My experience at the Athletico in Barrington was perfect from my first phone call to the end of my therapy appointments. Carli at the front desk is very friendly and helpful - and remembered my name at each visit. My physical therapist, Haley, was very professional, informative and pleasant.More importantly, Im on the mend as a result of her guidance and care. In fact all of the support staff at this location were extremely kind and helpful. I was glad to observe how respectful they were to all clients. I have no hesitation recommending this location.

Clean facility and always friendly staff. Have been through many rehabs with 4 shoulder surgeries and major back surgery and rehabs. Jennifer Mills is by far the best and most knowledgeable physical therapist I have crossed paths with. Her friendly demeanor and true desire to make a patient feel better. She is not afraid to try something new if something is not working. Listens to the patient and then works to improve the target areas. I always felt comfortable that I was in good hands and trusted her completely. I absolutely give my highest ratings I can give and strongly recommend her.I drove 45 minutes each way to see her. I had several choices within 10 minutes of my home. The professionals here are the best! I have been a patient here a number of times and have always received the highest level of care possible. Jennifer Mills, PT, is extremely knowledgeable about physiology, biomechanics, and the rehabilitation process. I always felt like a priority and that the she was familiar with my case and my individual progress. Therapy Sessions were catered to my needs and progression was very individualized based on my levels of pain and recovery. I can not say enough about the excellence of care. Scheduling was very efficient and the office staff were always willing to help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Several members of our family have been clients of Athletico Barrington over the past couple years. We saw Andy for many of our sessions, but also saw other great therapists. We have achieved great results and in some cases have learned how to manage our issues at home on an ongoing basis. They run a very well organized facility and have excellent therapists! I visited Lori R at Athletico for some occupational therapy on my thumb. I dont know how I hurt it, my thumb just started hurting and I finally decided to do something about it. Lori was great, giving me exercises to do, wonderful thumb massages, and hot and cold treatments. Im almost back to 100% and know that Ill get there soon. The whole team at Athletico was so kind throughout my experience - I highly recommend them!

Lori was amazing OT for our son who was injured in baseball, required surgery and was afraid he wouldnt be able to play sports again. He is FULLY back in less time than expected and much of that was thanks to her professional guidance, advice and encouragement! Her expertise really helped him to know when to push through the pain and when to stop and listen to his body!GREAT EXPERIENCE!

Excellent experience here. My daughter worked with Lori Risner for OT. Loris program was well structured, dynamic, challenging and fun. She helped my daughter not just get back to full health, but to build additional strength and flexibility. The facility is well run and organized as well, starting with Carli at the front desk. The professional and friendly team at Athletico in Barrington, IL is superb. Megan, my physical therapist, is wonderful. She listens to you and adjusts your exercises so you keep moving forward and are comfortable with the exercises. She also follow-ups with emails with new Home exercise routines. The front staff is very welcoming and friendly! They accommodate your needs with your schedule. I am very thankful to this team!

Everyone I interacted with at the Barrington Athletico was incredibly friendly and professional. I worked with Lori, who is a hand specialist, and she did a fantastic job. Loris precise attention to detail and friendly personality made it very pleasant and fun to work with her. Her treatment plan always felt like it was changing based on my feedback and progress and she was always willing and able to answer all of my questions. Scheduling and logistical details were also never a problem and very easy to handle with the friendly front desk staff. Also, this facility has many cleaning precautions in place and everyone always has a facemask on. Overall, I highly recommend checking this facility out if youre unsure about where to get physical/occupational therapy because they will make the whole process smooth and beneficial for you.

I thought I was very active and healthy, but all of my years of not stretching properly before and after runs and shifting to a desk job caught up with me, resulting in severe back pain that made even lying down to sleep nearly impossible. I worked primarily with Haley over a 6 week period and I have to say, she was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, fun and so encouraging. Assistants Melissa and Will were fantastic to work with as well! Its been 2 weeks since my last appointment and I feel great, but better yet, I now know what I can do to properly stretch my tight muscles and how to strengthen my core and hips to avoid the predicament I was in. *HIGHLY RECOMMEND*!*!*!*!*!

I had tennis elbow and the pain was bad that i couldnt do my daily chores easily . I had twice a week sessions for 10 weeks with Lori at Athletico in Barrington. Lori, is an outstanding occupational therapist. She put together a tailored program, and she and the staff provided a lot of support, and information all along the way. She helped me heal . Highly recommended!!

In going to Athletico for many weeks last year, I was very pleased with the way everyone worked with their clients. Carli Kander, the receptionist, is excellent in what she does. To her, the clients come first and she works to get the best results in scheduling appointments. I have never seen her snap or loose patience, always caring and cheerful. I was once a receptionist for a veterinarian and I know how difficult it can be at times. Carli is a gem!

I have had 6 stints at rehab at Athletico for therapy for 3 rotator cuff surgeries, 1 mcl knee surgery, and 1 recent therapy for a severe laceration wrist injury due to a fall. I’ve been treated by Matt, Nicole, and OT hand specialist Lori. The level of expertise, knowledge and care is the gold standard for rehab. All my therapists and pt aides are to be commended for their skills, encouragement, and sincere kindness. The front desk is manned by Carly, who keeps the place organized and follows up in a timely manner with appointments, working with physician referrals, and any billing questions. My latest therapy with Lori just reinforced the five star rating of the Barrington Athletico. Lori helped to rehab my wrist injury, as well as, treat my injured arthritic thumb. Everyone is so great and leaves one sad upon therapy graduation.

I shattered my elbow in February after a bad fall. Had to have 2 surgeries, and occupational therapy sessions 2-3 times a week for 8 months. Athletico in Barrington is top notch, and shout out to Lori, who is an outstanding occupational therapist. She put together a tailored program, designed to rehab my specific injuries, and she and the staff provided a ton of care, support, and information all along the way, They also had all the equipment needed for a good workout during every session, and even put together at-home exercise programs that helped as well. Highly recommended!!

Excellent treatment by Occupational Therapist. Sessions were focused on problem areas and were creative in nature. Still having symptoms of tendonitis in my wrist, but discomfort has improved significantly.

Athletico of Barrington is an excellent facility - clean, and staffed with professional, caring people. Definitely a shout out to Karli who always remembers your name, is super helpful with all insurance issues; shes warm and funny too! I have worked with Lori (OT) for hand and elbow issues and shes incredibly experienced. She has years of practice and depth of knowledgeable reduced my pain significantly. I just finished working with Haley (PT) on knee issues and I wouldnt be where Im at without her. In 6 weeks shes helped me become pain free and much stronger. Shes very enthusiastic and fun to work with. At first I was doubtful as to how well telehealth pt would work and it was excellent! Haley patiently answered all my questions. She also provided resources for equipment and other types of workouts that have been very helpful. I highly recommend Athletico for your needs - you wont be disappointed!

Having therapy is never fun but having it at Athletico made the experience much better. At times of covid-19 I have to say that theyre very careful following all protocols to prevent any exposure. Therapists are very knowledgeable and caring. They go way beyond anyones expectations. I recommend Megan and Andy since they were fantastic to me and my family members that also received therapy with them!

The staff and therapists at Barrington Athletico are MIRACLE workers! Megan, Andy, Melissa, Carli and Breanna are so kind. Carli and Breanna remember everyone’s name and make you feel welcome, and they always wish you a good rest of your day when you leave. Megan my therapist has helped me climb out of the whole I was in after my send cervical spinal fusion. She listens (even when I talk too much), she always addresses what hurts or is stiff as best she can, BUT most importantly she pushes me (in the best way) to not give up. “Look how far you’ve come” she tells me all the time. I wouldn’t be able to do half of what I can if I had gone somewhere else. When I stayed therapy she reminded me that things take time abs she will be with me in my struggles and progress. Due to my accident I suffer from PTSD, and when I started to panic therapy she immediately made me feel safe, I trust her implicitly! Their job is help you recover, but they take it a step further. They walk your recovery with you, they ask about your family and how you are doing aside from what ever body part you are having put back together. A million thank you’s still wouldn’t be enough to Megan and the rest of the Barrington Staff!!

My surgeon recommended this facility to increase the strength and flexibility of my broken wrist several months after my surgery.Lori worked diligently with me, and I am impressed by her thoroughness and knowledge. She was able to try different techniques when some caused me pain.She was able to answer all of my questions and gave me helpful exercises to do on my own. When I left her care, Lori advised me on items I could purchase to continue working on my wrist at home.I was impressed by the entire staff. Everyone was attentive and friendly from the front desk to the other therapists I observed working with their clients.If I ever have need of occupational or physical therapy my first choice would be to return to this Athletico facility.

I can’t say enough great things about my hand Occupational Therapist Lori Risner. Lori took charge of my hand the day the cast was removed from my left hand after under going a LRTI and Trapeziectomy. My hand was swollen, stiff and painful. The hours we spent was outstanding. Lori was patient, had a great sense of humor, gently motivated me (with a Velvet Glove) and after 6 weeks the hand has regained strength, the swelling was gone, and no more pain.The entire staff at Barrington Athletic was wonderful. From the moment you walked in you realized it operated like a well oiled Machine. To the greeting you received at the front counter, and there was no waiting to get going.My other hand will have the same procedure in early November. In mid-December I will be back seeing Lori. Her years of experience and knowledge is truly amazing. It’s no wonder that she is in huge demand.She also helped my wife who broke her hand and had a plate and screws installed.Thank you Lori. Id had surgery and the placement of a screw in my right hand for a broken scaphoid bone and my range of motion was quite compromised. The surgeon sent me for OT even before a follow-up appointment. I was seen by the certified hand therapist Lori Risner who was able, through manipulation, stretching, and graduated exercises, to help me get back my full range of motion and strength over the course of 15 appointments. I was delighted because when Id broken the same bone in my left had, it had taken 25 appointments before I graduated.

The staff is talented, kind, and engaging in addition to knowing what they are doing. I was greeted each morning by Josh or Carli and then worked with Lori R. to gain the range of motion and strength I wanted. Nothing but positive things to say about Lori Risner, O.T. and certified hand specialist at Barrington Athletico. Lori was very persistent and instrumental in getting to the root cause of my pain and discomfort after I suffered a work related injury, before and after surgery. Very accommodating on scheduling. I am a repeat client and requested Lori specifically based on past rehabilitation treatments and results. Lori takes whatever time is needed to explain and demonstrate procedures and therapies performed.

I’ve been going to Barrington Athletico on and off for several years. Starting at the front desk you are greeted warmly and by name. My regular therapist is Matt Zavala, the Athletico manager. He specializes in dry needle therapy and has done a wonderful job of keeping me healthy and pain free.

I have been in therapy at Athletico for the past several months. My therapist was Perry Rich. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Perry and the whole staff at Athletico in Barrington. In an effort to diagnose my problem, I saw several doctors in many different fields of medicine. Perry took it upon himself to take over the role of coordinating my care. On his own time, he researched my symptoms and would discuss his findings with me and my various docs. My doctors consistently commented on his vast knowledge and integrity. It is obvious that Perry is highly respected in the medical community..Perry is passionate about his patients and his number one priority is restoring them back to active healthy lifestyles. He consistently went above and beyond the call of duty in my treatment. I would highly recommend Perry to anybody in need of physical therapy.
