Amazing location. Only bouldering here, but they’ve got a lot and the surrounding businesses make it a perfect place to spend the evening after work.

The setting here is so fun, theyre creative and a bit different than all the other ET gyms in the area, but I guess as a bouldering only gym theyd have to be to set themselves apart from the gyms with roped climbing as well. As always staff is super friendly and fun and its a clean place in a cool area of Baltimore.

They only have bouldering here, so leave your harness at home, but the problems are well designed and fun. Lots of stuff for experienced and novice climbers, and with all the amazing surrounding businesses, you can make an evening of climbing, food, and craft beer.

It’s a damn nice place for bouldering. I’ve been to other rock gyms and they were fun but this one has a great diversity of routes and holds. It’s not just like a few walls with some small cheap holds, there’s a bunch of walls with a ton of unique holds big, small, and in between. the walls are also all different angles and rounded so their much better then just straight 90° walls or whatever. There’s this hanging island thing with a peg board, horizontal grip ladder, and those half ball grips which is fun to try and climb as well. There’s routes for all skill sets and even if you don’t want to climb there’s a gym attached and nice places to sit and watch or shop; and right next door a nice ice cream shop and craft brewery. Even though there were a lot of people kind of on the Saturday afternoon I went we still had barely any trouble finding a bunch of open routes and most climbers are like most Canadians, polite and helpful. Staff, walls, amenities, and all are enough for a solid rounded up 5 star review.

Great facility, great staff, really fun place to climb and learn. However, social distancing and mask-wearing policies are not enforced well enough for me to feel safe in there during the pandemic. The reservation system should be required on weekends, there should be more signage and enforcement about masks, and capacity should be lowered. I also wish there were better information about what the ventilation system in the building is.

Great gym with a massive number of bouldering problems! All the problems set here are very fun and creative- I have climbed at a couple other big gyms before, and found that route setters at larger gyms often cater more towards higher levels, and the intermediate problems are pretty cookie cutter. Definitely not the case here- I climb V3/some V4, and find every problem here to be creative. Props to the route setting team

The saga of Earth Treks - I wish so much that my review could be better. Ive been a member almost since they opened, and kept my membership on pause ($8/month) for the last 1.5 years, first due to travel and then due to the pandemic. Ive now cancelled for good.Pre pandemic, there were multiple issues:- Dirty locker rooms and weight rooms- Overcrowding (indoor bouldering is pretty difficult and dangerous with no capacity limits)- No safety oversight on the floor, e.g. groups of climbers performing daredevil moves and falling, children running around unsupervised, babies on the climbing floor, etc. On one day, I remember starting a climb, and turning my head to see a toddler running unsupervised toward my wall, after his dad put him down to climb himself, with no other adults around. I had to quickly get off the wall and hope I didnt fall on his kid. The staff were utterly unprepared to respond to the situation and also didnt know what to do when the father started yelling at me. (The right thing to do would have been to ban him for life, and never allow small children in the gym, especially not unsupervised, but this is certainly not what they did). Now, with less than 55% of Baltimores adult population fully vaccinated, theyre completely dropping capacity limits and going with an honor system on vaccine status and masks. For a place that touts its support of disabled climbers, its a weird stance to take at this point in time. Its really a shame. I loved having a bouldering gym in town, and really enjoyed going there pre-pandemic.Their communication about these changes was confusing at best. They cited a member survey that no members Im aware of received. In general, their communication is scattershot and dismissive. Go at your own risk, apparently.

Fantastic location. Only bouldering and no belay climbing, but thats fine with me. small gym, but more than adequate. Climbing is the main focus after all. Yoga classes are amazing and a real good workout. Take Michaels classes if you can. Lena and all the other desk staff are wonderful. The snacks are more expensive than I think they should be, but its not like you cant bring your own. Its kind of tragic that the ice cream shop is mere feet away from the gym - there goes any semblance of diet, I suppose!

Visited this location last night with a couple friends. One of which is a member there. We all had a great time climbing but also watching the other climbers as there as some really impressive people at this gym.A warning though, this is only a bouldering gym, there is nothing over 20 feet I would say but it is still a great experience.Very clean grounds and facilities.

I just started at Earth Treks as a complete noob to climbing. The staff has done a tremendous job of helping me get my feet under me. Everyone is extremely welcoming and friendly. Some places kind of look down on newcomer; not this place. Some staff members already know me after just a couple weeks. If you are at all interested in Bouldering, but are scared because you dont know anything, dont be! Give Earth Treks a try and I think youll like it.

Its definitely one of the smaller earth treks gyms. Be aware that there are no walls for lead/top roping. This is solely a bouldering gym. I enjoy that it doesntseem to get as busy as some of the others though. Its a nice change of pace, and the surrounding food places are good too!

I loved this bouldering gym! Ive been a multi-gym member for almost a year now, but I took a break for the summer. This gym is in a really cool location, has a full workout gym, and does classes. Its convenient to Baltimore City and after climbing for a while you can go grab ice cream or a beer right next door! Definitely coming back soon!

Went with a group of friends and we had a blast! We did the intro class for $22. Caleb went over the basics to bouldering. He was great. Then we went around on our own. You have access to the entire place. There are locker rooms with showers, treadmills, weights, and the bouldering area. The shoes they provide are uncomfortable. Getting a half to one size larger than your normal will be more comfortable. Will definitely go again. I want to go soon. They have deals on Groupon as well.To the owners response: I obviously asked for a different size which is how I came to the conclusion that a half to one size larger will be more comfortable. I changed shoe sizes 3 times. I wouldnt just walk around in shoes that dont fit. But thanks!

This wall climbing place is decked out with an in store shop, new tech, and locker room as well as a large climbing area and gym. The staff are extremely helpful. There are also complimentary accessories at the front desk available upon request, such as climbing tape and moisturizer for roughed hands. Everything has an urban and techy feel to it, and they offer large group gatherings as well.

This is a great place with friendly people, helpful instructors, and great workout facility. The locker rooms are clean and well cared for. The walls are great and change regularly. Ive always been intimidated by climbing because climbers tend to give off a cooler than thou attitude for an insider club, but I havent encountered that here. Climbers have been genuinely friendly, even the really intense or jeep brah ones, and its been a great experience. Plus you walk past ice cream when you leave. How convenient!

Such a great place! Whether youre an experienced climber or new to the sport, youll find earth treks Hampden a fun and welcoming community. Something to note is that they only have bouldering, but they set new problems all of the time so youll never get bored. The regular gym in the space, though a bit small, has all the essentials and rarely feels crowded. I enjoy everything from the people to the music so much that I find myself going several times a week!
