My daughter is a patient of Dr. Chang and takes a medication that needs approval each month. She is out of her medication and she began calling Austin Regional Clinic (ARC) at 11:00AM in an attempt to get Dr. Chang to prescribe her monthly medication. I tried to intervene and call a manager on her behalf. Despite a few promises, that ARC would help my daughter, no one returned our phone call. My daughter wrote in My Chart three time today. Dr. Chang apparently does not check check. There is a terrible communication problem within ARC. This is the fourth time weve had this problem with ARC concerning communication, or rather lack of communication. Fortunately before (about 3 times) we were finally able to contact Dr. Changs office. Today we were not lucky. Not sure if this is completely Dr. Changs fault but its evident his does not check his My Chart. As the ARC, they are always in total chaos. In the past Ive been able to contact Ben, who is a manager there. Today, despite numerous attempts to contact Ben and Dr. Chang neither ever returned our phone calls. Im going to change doctors, since my daughter is now living in Houston area

Really thought Id like Dr. Chang at first. He seemed to listen when I told him about my breathing problem, ordered some tests, and I was feeling optimistic. When the two tests came back negative, the nurse called me and said essentially youre fine, theres nothing wrong.Well Ive been having breathing problems for a couple weeks, I sure dont feel fine. When I asked if theres anything else they can test for she asked ME what I think they should do. She said if I was feeling bad just go to the hospital. I mean, this is what I came to Doctor for, I dont know what to do about my problems. All in all, I would not recommend. Maybe it was just the nurse, or maybe the Dr. as well. But they dont seem too concerned that Im having breathing troubles since their 2 tests came back negative. So if you want a Dr. that will actually be interested in helping you get better, look elsewhere.

I have been seeing Dr Chang for over a year. Ive had about 15 visits with him so far and I am always impressed with the quality of time I get with my doctor. Before Dr Chang became my primary care physician I had been seeing another fine doctor for 5 years. That doctor made me feel rushed at times. Then he second guessed one of my complaints and dismissed my self diagnosis. When I fell seriously ill and confirmed the diagnosis elsewhere, I could have told him I told you so but I never got a chance because, as a policy, he refused to fill out my disability claim paperwork.I replaced that primary care doctor with Dr. Chang because he has never complained about doing any paperwork for my disability claim. He listens carefully, gives full attention and I never feel rushed. Appointments always run on time, his nurse is friendly, and the front desk is efficient. On top of that, ARC Far West has great free parking.I cant speak to Dr Changs diagnostic abilities. He has not had to diagnose anything with me. Weve left that to other specialists. But he does review and monitor a mass of lab work and tests from all of my specialists. He stays on top of the big picture for me which keeps me sane. He documents my story and medical history for me. None of my specialty physicians have the capacity or expressed willingness to do these things for me. Thus, I consider Dr. Changs role a huge service.
