If you need handicapped parking you dont want to come to this location. The closest parking is slanted down hill. When you go to get out of your car you either have your car for closing on you are you are almost falling out of your car. There is suppose to be handicap parking under the building but the spaces wide enough for a regular sized car are mostly physicians parking only.If you require handicap parking do not choose the 4310 James Casey St. location.

Doctor Dalton is a very caring Doctor. She warm heartedly listened to all of my concerns and I genuinely felt that she took the time to listen to me. During my visit when recommending products that I could take for my condition, I advised her of a product that really works for me and at the same time, we both said it and we both laughed. That was a really nice moment, when you and your Doctor can laugh. Dr. Dalton made me feel that she wanted to help me and I thank her for doing so. Her personality, caring nature and desire to help patients are what you look for in a doctor. I am grateful to have Doctor Dalton as my physician. If you want a Doctor with these qualities, look no further than Doctor Dalton. Bonus, the entire office staff were nice from the front office, to the nurses, to the checkout.

Changing my opinion due to total lack of communication! See my review from 4-26-2021 for a quick synopsis. Remember you have to be your own health advocate because most doctors offices are so busy with too many patients they simply become complacent with your care!! The problem with health care in America is because it is a for profit business first instead of adhering to the sacred oath of Do No Harm!

Dr. Emmett is very nice, but in my case he did not help me. For 5+ years I took medication that year over year made me increasingly sicker. Definitely did not think that he listened when I told him the problem. I told him that I was allergic to medication on day 1 and yearly during the annual visit. He never offered an alternative only additional pills, that made my symptoms worse. Currently off the medication, after some research found an alternative to the medication that is working. It is very disappointing that I had to find this information my own and my doctor never mentioned it. Feeling better than I have in many years, no thanks to him.

I had two procedures at the same time. Dr. Sheila Reddy never spoke with me on the scheduled day of procedures. The anesthesiologist met me, listened to my concerns. Dr. Sheila Reddy did not speak with me before or after! She appeared 5 minutes before anesthesia kicked in...to say I was anxious, is an understatement! Today it is 10 days since procedures, no word from her about results. Shes aware Im concerned about results. I emailed her office and received 4 hours later a rapidly giving report from an assistant who can answer none of my questions. The assistant isnt rude but not compassionate or informative, just business like and abrupt. I saw the bill to my insurance company. I believe Dr. Sheila Reddy was overpaid for service rendered and would NEVER recommend her to anyone! There are amazing doctors out there who care. Seek one of those before seeking one just looking to get paid.

Dr. Reddy was rude, impatient, and dismissive. Please check her ratings on Healthgrades for more accurate reviews. What’s worse is that she was very friendly and polite when surrounded by her colleagues but showed her true self besides that. She showed reluctance to my questions even when she was supposed to come and talk to me after my procedure anyway. I’ve never encountered a physician who behaved so unprofessional. Highly do not recommend.

I needed to set up an appointment quickly for a digestive issue that had warning signs of potential cancer. I was able to set it up quickly but had to wait almost two weeks for an appointment.I paid out of pocket for the visit (very high cost for less than ten minute appointment) and felt that my visit was short and not very personal. I was suggested to get a colonoscopy (priced at almost $4,000 for a minor procedure). I called the doctors office, anesthesiology company, and procedure facility to get the cash prices for each. One week before the procedure I received a call from the procedure facility to confirm the date and time and pay for the procedure. To my surprise the cost went from near $400 to over $1,000 for the facility fee. This was a major issue as we had budgeted for the initial cost quote. This should never happen. The procedure was comfortable, however, I waited a long time over my scheduled time. I was relieved to find out I did not have cancer, but their ”best guess” was maybe Chrons disease.I was supposed to be contacted to set up a follow up call/appointment to discuss the results and path forward, which did not happen. I had to call to get the results, which an assistant called about and gave me over the phone, which also conflicted with the doctors results and recommendations.I had to call and set up an appointment (again very expensive in addition to the $4,000 dollars I had already paid which I should have received the results for) to find out the true results and path forward.I was then given two prescriptions to take. When I arrived at the pharmacy I was shocked to find out the cost was over $900 dollars for three months and may have to take them longer than 3 months.I had to schedule another appointment (again more money) to find a more economic option for medications. The alternative was prednisone for over three months. There are serious side effects with the use prednisone and even more so with long term use. I was still recommended to take one of the medications that still amounted to a total of $400 for three months. The doctor did not even call to see if that option was feasible or not. After all that I have been through with Austin Gastro I am left with the impression that they do not focus on personal individualized care and are more focused numbers and pushing their contacted expensive medications.I am currently left with no viable options to treat what may be Chrons and am out almost $5000 dollars just to find out a “best guess” of a diagnosis.

Leave it to the doctor to screw up the end game. So I had the procedures below, labs, blood work, etc etc. The doctor had the medical assistant call me with results after ALL of this poking/prodding, instead of giving me the courtesy of calling me herself (she billed enough for her time and all of the procedures to have warranted a 15 min call). The Med Asst threw random results & terms at me with no coherent Treatment Plan or Result. So what’s wrong with me exactly? What are the 3-4 things the doctor recommends? What are the key test results I should be aware of (ie those that came back abnormal) and what do they mean?Terrible. They charge you thousands for procedures and labs and then can’t take the time to give you a 1-2 page cohesive and clear treatment plan/results…instead sending me copies of individual results and letting me try and make sense of them myself.******Update 7/1 (post procedures): I’ve now had two procedures here (colonoscopy & upper endoscopy) and I have to say I was quite nervous before having them done. The staff from nurses to techs to anesthesiologist were all incredibly supportive with excellent bedside manner. I didn’t feel a thing and before I knew it, I was done and back in the recovery room. I HIGHLY recommend this group.******I’m 45 and have been having horrible IBS/GERD issues following a horrific case of food poisoning at an Austin Chipotle. The digestive issues have not resolved going on 14 days. I made an appointment to see a doctor at Austin Gastro because they are in-network with my insurance. I’d never been there and did have to wait a while (3 wks) for an appt but that may have been because I wanted to see Dr. Reddy. Perhaps if I was open to other doctors, I could’ve gotten in sooner but I wanted a woman physician.Dr. Reddy seemed to be a professional, kind, respectful and engaged doctor. I felt she had my health in mind and was determined to get to the bottom of why im having such chronic and extreme digestive issues. I also appreciate that the office support staff are very transparent about out-of-pocket costs.

EDIT: We are now three weeks out from this review and lack of communication from Dr Hsu and his staff has not been rectified and is ongoing. NOTHING has improved or been resolved. This might be old hat to these people, but I assure you the diagnosis is upsetting to my daughter. Do we have a plan of treatment? Well, she gets Rx’s thrown at her without much explanation of a plan or a contingency plan if it doesn’t work. Has she actually SEEN Dr Hsu? Nope. Only right before the colonoscopy. Who is actually overseeing her care? Anyone? Not sure because the communication is so disjointed. So here we go into a holiday weekend…..they finally reviewed her labs they received on Tuesday/Wed. Probably only because she messaged and called until she was told had been received and review was occurring right then. Throw another Rx at her that has concerning side effects without addressing her concerns or making sure her questions were answered? Yes, that’s exactly how it was handled. They asked if she’d had more blood work done. NO! Because NO ONE told her they’d ordered it! Is it just us or is this the norm for this practice to leave their patents twisting in the wind??Yes, someone commented from my previous post that the comment had been sent to the Practice Manager. Any guess on whether or not I’ve heard from them?? Of course not! I am completely at a loss as to how this is considered acceptable care. Completely at a loss. I said before “Do Better.” I’m not convinced this office, this doctor, or the staff is capable of doing better. Sadly, it’s the patients that suffer. Holy cow.————————————————————————————My daughter is a patient of Dr. Hsu. However, she’s only actually met him for about 5-10 minutes. She was referred for gastro issues but also has severe anemia. It’s very concerning that she cannot get in touch with anyone or is told she’ll get a call back, but then hears NOTHING. Communication is severely lacking and that is very concerning. He may be a great doctor and his PA may be great also, but it’s hard to say because she’s getting lost in the shuffle. I appreciate that medical personnel are working during trying times, but patient care still needs to be at the forefront. I’m very concerned about her ongoing anemia (and it’s cause)that is not being addressed or monitored other than choking down iron supplements. Do better.

Then last week we were able to schedule her EDG for next week and we’re supposed to get an email, however surprise that didn’t happen at all, call twice and no one has returned our call. This is the second time where they lack the communication with their patients, if you can’t bother to reach your patient out with next steps then why are you even in the medical field? We both have full time managers where we have to give a heads up on when we’re going to be out but this lack of communication is unacceptable.

Go anywhere else! First I called and made an appointment for a specific date March 25th 2021. When I arrived at the appointment date they had no record of my appointment. Now why would I decide to go to a Gastroenterologist for fun? They graced me with seeing them on that day. First impression not good.I had the brief exam with Dr. Srygley and spoke to the doctor about getting a colonoscopy as a preventive measure seeing that I am over 50. I sat down with the scheduler and made a date for April 27 2021. I called several weeks after to inquire about my financial responsibility so that I could budget for my out of pocket expenses. I got a call back although she could not tell me what that cost was going to be and said she would get back to me. Never received a call back. Seems funny as this practice has 16 locations and 40 providers and does hundreds of procedures a month. So they should know the ins and outs and what the average cost is?? One would think? So time moves forward and the day approaches and I get a call about getting a covid test prior to the procedure. I choose a 9 a.m. the day before April 26th at South Austin St. Davids drive through. I get there and call the number, wait a few minutes and a CNA comes out and tells me my procedure is in May? I tell them my paperwork says April 27 for the procedure and as such they will not do the test. I was instructed to call Austin Gastroenterology and tell them I am needing a covid test. I try calling but no one answers the phone, no matter what menu I choose. I decide that since their office is a block away I would just go there and speak to them one on one. I go in and inquire only to be told my procedure date has been changed to May 27. They tell me they called and told me but they never emailed, called or texted this info to me. I asked who called me do you have a record of this caller? Strike 3! They also failed to call in the prep solution so I had to call them prior and get that done.Suffice to say that the front office at Austin Gastroenterology is completely inept at what their duties are. St. Davids South is also incompetent at scheduling and communication. Totally unacceptable!I cant really give the doctors a review as I really have not had a whole lot of interaction with Dr. Srygley so I am hopeful he is a good provider?I cancelled the procedure at the office in person and will find another provider. One that has a competent front office staff who understands the value of someones time and that we are customers not just patients!I doubt I will get a response from them about this review as I believe they simply dont care!!You know why they refer to us as patients? Because one must have to be patient to deal with the medical industry as a whole!I would say that this operation it way to big to provide competent service specifically the front office staff. This is the nerve center for any Doctors office and the quality of this particular staff gets a 1 form this PATIENT!

Dr.Emmett and his staff are very professional and courteous. I love that he listens to my concerns and is very thorough. He also works very well with my other doctors to make sure I am well taken care of. Thank you!

I’ve had great experience at Austin Gastroenterology. Wait times are minimal, easy to book appointments, and I felt like I could contact someone easily through the online portal. I’ve seen Yulia a handful of times. She’s super intelligent, patient and she was persistent at helping me figure out my diagnosis.

Complete lack of empathy. Lack of interest in patients well being, EDG “manufacturing plant”. Repeatedly said medication is causing bad side effects without effect, as I was constantly being told to continue same exact medication. Incredibly hard to contact and communicate with staff/doctor. Line is always busy/goes straight to voicemail.Best to find smaller practice that actually cares for patients.
