ARA is easy to schedule with and easy to get in and out of. I have had just about every type of imaging done (MRI, CT scans, Mammograms) and I always go to ARA for the smooth process and ease of scheduling. They always know what your insurance will and will not cover - so there are no surprises. There are numerous locations so you can usually find one close to you. The location in Round Rock is my favorite (less crowded and near North Austin) but my experiences have been equally good at all locations. Sometimes you have to travel for the right type of equipment!

Devon is a great technician. All during my exam he kept me informed and always asked how I was doing. He is kind, patience, considerate and extremely caring. He has excellent bedside manners. Most of all he was not prejudice toward the color of my skin nor my age. He displayed a tremendous attitude and showed magnificent professionalism. What a great person with excellent people and communication skills. Also very knowledgeable. Thanks ARA for hiring great people like Devon. 👍

Staff was courteous and helpful, and wait time was under 10 minutes. The facility was very clean and I especially liked that my belongings were secured in a locker and locked with a key. The MRI technician was very knowledgeable and so kind. She told me everything that was going to happen. I was very glad to see the MRI machine was open all the way through, not like the older ones that made you feel like you were in a cave.

Trying to get an appointment closer to when I got hurt was like trying to get a brunch reservation on Mother’s Day just wasn’t gonna happen. Granted imaging has been backed up due to that year we shall never mention again..My appointment was later in the evening but they staff was so friendly and nice. They helped me through the paperwork process explained who my procedure would go and went out of their way to make sure I was ok. It’s truly amazing to see people who have been working non stop durning these trying times still have kindness and happiness in their hearts and eyes. You can really tell they love what they do. Thank you again!

I recently had an MRI at ARA diagnostic Imaging on 38th St. All my life I have been terrified at the prospect of having an MRI because of my severe claustrophobia. The paramedic in charge of my procedure was fantastic. She was so helpful and reassuring...I felt very safe and calm every step of the way. Everyone involved was friendly, professional, and helpful. I highly recommend this place.

ARA is definitely my preferred place for imaging in Austin.I have had multiple MRI’s and Ultrasounds done in the past 5 years at various ARA locations, as well as others done at hospitals. By comparison, ARA is superior in every respect. Their Technicians are obviously -well-trained, and the radiologists’ reports seem to be more comprehensive and complete than those I have received from Hospital radiologists. If given a choice, I would always choose ARA.

My MRI technician was exceptionally helpful in adapting to my unusual physical needs and providing attentive care. I found her to be capable, listening, responsive, clear, timely and efficient in all her communications and actions.I appreciated the favor when the desk staff and back staff were helpful in locating and providing a cell phone cord and plug so that could recharged my phone to get an Uber ride upon my departure. The receptionist was responsive, efficient and patient even while busy with more than one patient.

Showed up for my 8:45pm appointment at 8:15, and the large double doors, under the big lit “Medical Park Tower” sign were locked, so I walked to the side... locked. So I went across the bridge into the hospital which was a ghost town. The MRI Technician that the security guard found for me told me to go back to medical park tower. Doors locked, went to the next set, locked. Finally saw a small door to the left and that was open. So at 8:40 they then turned me away for an 8:45 scan with not a single soul in the building. I asked if there was paperwork to fill out... nope, just too late.. at 8:40PM for an 8:45 appointment. HOW ABOUT THIS WILD IDEA.... when the building closes, put a sign on the BIG DOUBLE DOORS pointing people to the correct door. WOW, brilliant! And if you want me there at 8:15pm for an 8:45pm why not just tell me my appointment is 8:15pm and not to arrive late?? Stupid.Update 1/14/20They rescheduled my appointment for another location, which was MUCH nicer, in Cedar Park. I appreciate the reply but I dont feel its necessary to talk, you should just add a sign to the doors when they are locked and closed to direct people to the correct entrance.

UPDATE: I originally gave ARA Medical Park Tower 1 star for, what essentially was poor communication (see original review below) but after having spoken with Anna, from ARA, who reassured me that the manager at Medical Park Tower was made aware of what happened during my appointment, Ive changed the rating to 3 stars. Anna reached out to me shortly after submitting a patient survey and posting this review. The experience was still frustrating but I appreciated ARAs immediate attention to my concerns and having Anna directly call me to explain what happened, to apologize for the experience and reassure me that ARA is working to prevent issues like mine in the future.-------I hope I dont ever have to have a scan at the Medical Park location ever again. I will drive out of my way to avoid scheduling imaging at this location.I was scheduled for an 8pm MRI appointment but was called earlier in the day to see if I wanted a 6pm appointment instead, which I took. I was told on the phone that the whole appointment should take only an hour and a half. I arrived at 5:50, completed the paperwork and was checked in. On the phone, I was told the scan would start at 6:30. At about 6:45 I asked the receptionist why I hadnt been taken back yet and she said the techs were a little behind and it would be another 10 minutes. I waited and waited in the waiting room until 7:40pm, when I was taken back to change, lock up my belongings and have the IV inserted. Then I sat next to the MRI room for another hour or so before I was finally taken to do the scans. During the scan, the machine was malfunctioning and took quite a bit of time to sort out before the tech got usable scans. However, the radiologist ended the imaging earlier without doing the scans with contrast because the scans werent showing anything useful of the area that was being scanned because the field was too large. The imaging ended early without getting what my doctor needed.By the time I left the building after the scans, it was 10pm. The parking lot is barely lit and the building deserted which didnt make me feel safe leaving the building alone. I hadnt expected to be at the imaging center for so long because I was told Id be done at 7:30 or I would have brought someone with me. I also could not find the parking lot exit easily because again, there is hardly any light in the parking lot and I couldnt see the signs for the exit. It took me several more minutes to exit the parking lot.Lastly, its not clear if Im being refunded by the ARA for the imaging that didnt happen. I was told to check my bank statement in a few weeks. No exact amount, no clear expectations. Just ‘Check your bank statement. It might show up’During this whole process, no one informed me that appointments were running behind until I asked why I had been waiting for so long. Had I known, I would have rescheduled the appointment so I didnt waste 4 hours of my evening or have to leave an empty building by myself in the dark.

This is my first ever review but I’ve honestly never experienced something this awful. I had to reach out to billing multiple times to clarify the high costs for my imaging and discuss a payment plan. Every single time (and I do mean every single time) I called or spoke with someone in office I was told something different. Staff were incredibly rude and continually explained basic insurance concepts like deductibles to me (as if I were a child) without clearly answering my pertinent questions about the payment plan process. I was then charged $227 which I was told I had authorized as a part of my payment plan after I had already paid the full balance. I had to call billing multiple times and argue to get the $227 refunded. Nightmare experience and I sincerely hope no one will visit and/or work at this place if they can help it...

Scheduling is a nightmare at ARA. I was initially scheduled for a breast MRI and was not told that this procedure needed to be scheduled between 7-14 days after the first day of my most recent period. I showed up for my appointment and was told I could not do the procedure that day due to my period schedule. I later rescheduled the appointment, and also needed an MRI of my foot on the same day. The foot MRI was scheduled at 12:20pm and the breast MRI was around 6pm. I asked if the two appointments could be close together so i could do them during the same visit there, but was told that they did not have any appointments that close together on the same day. I got a confirmation text for the foot MRI but not the breast one. I also received a call for each where they happily told me how much money I owed up front, out of pocket for each procedure. I happened to call ARA the day before both exams to see if I could move the foot appointment to the evening. I was then told that my breast MRI had been moved from 6pm to 1pm and I was NEVER notified of this change. No one mentioned this major change in time when they called to tell me how much I would owe. To make it worse, my original 6pm appointment had been given away to someone else so now it was not even an option for me. I had to still go at 12:00pm for my foot and was then bumped pushed back to 7:30pm do to the breast MRI. Scheduling is an absolute joke and I would never recommend anyone rely on ARA for their imaging appointments. How do they expect for anyone to be okay with moving an appointment up by 5 hours with no notice or confirmation?? This is the worst scheduling I have ever experienced. It was very unprofessional.

Im suffering from claustrophobia and was scheduled for an MRI at this location. The staff Allison, Beth and Allie took my fear and due to their friendly nature, they made me feel relaxed enough to successfully complete the procedure even though I wasnt able to in the past.I also received a phone call the next day to follow up, checking in on how I am due to the sedation I had received on the prior day.Admittingly, after reading the reviews on here I was worried but I ran into no problems at all. I was seen ahead of my scheduled time and the exam was going accordingly to what had been outlined to me beforehand and I had no complications and can safely recommend this facility to anyone with fear of MRIs.

I have had scans done at this location several times. There is a fee for parking, however, the first 30 minutes are free, and every time I have had scans, the medical and administrative staff was so prompt and efficient, I have never spent more than 30 minutes int he facility. It can be easy to get lost inside the building, but there have always been friendly people to help point the way, so its not as frustrating as it seems. The parking lot can be challenging to navigate but I have always found a spot. Its hard to find the exit for the parking lot, but not a nightmare.Every time I have gone, the x-ray technicians were so friendly, considerate, kind, efficient and great at their job. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. The paperwork is short and easy. I noticed that everyone is treated equally, with kindness and professionalism. I was a little annoyed that the tv in the waiting room was showing meat being cooked on the bbq, which is not healthy. I wish medical professionals would not allow such messaging to be promoted, but I dont know if they have much control over that. The waiting room is small, but the wait is short. I always request a cd and report of my scans, and they have always mailed it to me at no charge. I could wait for it, but dont want to pay for parking, so I ask them to mail it.When I call, there is no wait to be helped and they are always friendly and helpful. I dont understand why there are negative reviews. This place is great. The people are wonderful. The scans are clear. The reports are thorough and interesting. The scans and reports are sent to my doctor within 24 hours. I have nothing bad to say about ARA Diagnostic Imaging - Medical Park Tower. 5 stars for sure.

Austin Needs Another Imaging Company Instead of This Incompetent Monopoly!-took three (3) different tries to get an IV inserted correctly for an MRI procedure, and I have very good veins - incompetent techs-their radiologist misread my imaging and had to do an addendum - incompetent radiologist-promised to send MRI results to a major world-class medical facility, but it took me four (4) attempts to get the images sent - incompetent records department-logged three (3) calls today to speak with a supervisor, but calls were not returned - incompetent managementUnfortunately, ARA dominates the imaging market in Austin, but these totally incompetent bozos should be out of business!!!!

Called weeks in advance to schedule an MRI and provided requested information for patient over the phone. Show up the day of imaging and was told I never called with said information (I did call with that information). I was then told I needed to provide a printed report with the information requested. The scheduler spoken to never mentioned a report needed before scheduling an appointment. Poor communication has happened before at this location where information is provided and not documented in the system. The result was lost time from work and a continued lack of communication.

No accountability for what was essentially a technician’s disregard for the MRI order requested. Have yet to be called or notified even that this negligence has occurred and found out only when specialist requested the imaging. Even after this was revealed, no one has yet called to apologize or take responsibility for this complete lack of professionalism. In fact, they have the audacity to continue sending automated text messages to ask me to schedule my next appointment.

No one showed up this morning due to inclement weather (snowed last night, roads were totally clear). There were no calls to patients with scheduled appointments or anyone available to field calls. I sat outside the locked office next to the entrance to the lobby freezing, while every other person in Austin showed up to do their job. So disrespectful of their patients.
