She can do all hairstyles Id say (except twist), but it wont entirely resemble what you requested, the biggest reason for the low rating is, if you have long hair, expect to lose quite a bit of it when she parts and combs, I lost about 3 inches, and watched as she discreetly disposed.

Believe me -you can trust the bad reviews when you read them.Got 5 braids done there & then had to make another appointment to have them redone somewhere else the next day.Getting just 5 braids ended up costing me $140.00 total. My hair looked horrible & Amina knew it because she put a rubber band around the braids extremely tight to hide them. My hair was done with such a terrible attitude & I dont know why. Could be shes simply miserable, not making enough money fast enough or I failed a skin color test. IDK & IDC because Im not going back anyway

I called this salon last-minute because I wanted my hair braided for my birthday dinner. Amina was able to fit me in that afternoon. I was her only client because it was by appointment only. She was timely, professional and her shop was clean. I felt safe and she met COVID-19 regulations. I am from NY, but if I am ever in need of a hair job and I am in NJ I will look her up.

The absolute WORST hair salon I came across . She fit me in last minute, but was very rough and ripping through my hair . I’ve never had my hair braided so tight before . It seemed to me when she told me my hair was thick in the middle she braided it SUPER TIGHT . I showed her a specific picture of what I wanted done , she did the complete opposite, when I told her I didn’t like my style and PAID 200 for it with and 20 dollar tip for staying late , & it looks a month old already & I just got it done 8/14/2021 she said her job was done . She charged me extra for length and didn’t finish braiding most of them down .I don’t know if it was because it was my skin color or what but never again will I ever return ....!

Called Aminas shop a half hour before closing the night before I wanted to schedule the appointment. She asked me what time I wanted to come in/what I wanted done. Came in the next morning right when the shop opened, showed her a picture of the style I wanted and she made it happen. She is nice and easy to talk to and about her business. I came from out of town/was here on vacation and definitely would return again. My only advice would be is to take the boardwalk vs the streets to get there if going by foot.

Absolutely horribleFirst off let me say Im from NY and get my hair braided once a month. I planned a weekend get away with some girlfriends and was running late so I left NY without getting my hair done. I call this place and she seems accommodating. I get there and notice that shes not doing the best of jobs on the girl she already has in her chair. But I go against my better judgment and allow her to do my hair. First of all she didnt even have my color hair. Ok fine I can go with something else. Then she begins to put a whole glob of some smelly cream on my hair telling me its organic. Then she is pulling my hair and I look at the first few braids and notice my parts are not even straight smh I was so annoyed. Then she stopped every so often to talk on the phone and had drug addicts coming to her shop as she bought their food stamps I was utterly disgusted by this women her inability to braid and even more so to conduct Fraudulent acts in front of her customers. Needless to say my hair was a HOT MESS and it was an absolute horrible experienceAnd a total waste of $$$$$NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Shes a good braider but very rough on hair. Makes box braids soo tight and if you tell her she will say if its not tight it wont last. Very unprofessional and literally on the phone the whole time. She charges 180 for box braids. When you call and ask for prices she will tell you otherwise. Go in and its a different price. Never going there again.

Amina you are the best. I had to leave for Vegas at 5 pm but I needed my hair done. She scheduled me for a 6 am appointment for micro braids. She finished my hair in 4 hours and was an hour early for my flight to Vegas. Thank you for the excellent customer services.

Love love my hairstyle made a appt out of state from north Dakota. Amina got me in and out and was very fast..showed her a picture of my braids I wanted and she did that will visit every time I come back to alantic city... So mad they gave me a bald spot, they didnt do my hair the way i wanted it done and on top of that amina the owner of the shop caught attitude with me because the dryer was too hot on my head plus i had to go to work, so i kept pushing the dryer off my head. But over all i will not spend my money there anymore.. I got six braids and they look like i had them in for months smh its only been a week and i wore a scarf so it aint that.

She did my hair too fast and rough like she dont have any since and I told her if she can stop handling my hair like that and she made it tighter. I wont be returning here.

The worse African braiding hair salon Ive ever been to, for 1 this women that did my hair at the 1st chair when you walk in is horrible I had to tell her twice to redu it when she started, her parts were not straight,an my braids got loose the same day I got it done an to top it I got a bold spot because she pulled the front of the braid so tight but the rest was so loose. An not only that I watched the owner of the shop do someone elses hair an it came out horrible I couldnt believe how she didnt put any effort into parting the back of this girls hair, it was just rediculous !! Worse experience ever.
