Took mother to get some irregular shaped raise bumps on her groin area checked out and the experience was great. Highly recommend this place. It looks clean and the PA is awesome and very polite. She ended up taking biopsies just to make sure they weren’t cancerous. Everything turned out great.

Upon the first phone call, not even the visit I knew this was a great office.. I’ve struggled to find an office that’s willing to do what’s needed for my teen daughters psoriasis and this office is it! Beautiful building, very clean and bright office, extremely personable team( management, clinical staff and doctors) we’re all very understanding and they actually listened to our concerns… I’ll be making an appt for the rest of my family with Derm needs and would highly recommend this office to absolutely anyone!! I arrived on time and was taken back on time, which is unfortunately rare these days. The front staff was attentive and efficient. The nurse (Peneta) and PA (Alexa Deck) were terrific. They made me feel immediately welcomed, took time to learn about me, addressed all my concerns and were very fun (yes, fun) and caring. They were very thorough and uncovered a few areas that I wasn’t even aware of to be removed and tested. Even though I left with 5 bandaids they made it an overall enjoyable experience.

Worst service ever, I call to make am appointment and I give them the insurance information, now when I come to the appointment they dont take the insurance I have, they make me waste my time and the lady was rude. I definitely do not recommend this place.

Life changing! Amazing dermatologist and Med spa center. Dr. Hammel was my dermatologist and he completely changed my life. I went to this dermatology center as a 16 year old with terrible cystic and nodular acne. My acne made me feel so ashamed and self conscious. I had tried everything Walmart, target and every drugstore sold for acne. It was time to see a dermatologist! I was prescribed creams and medications and they did wonders! My skin needed to see a dermatologist! Dr. Hammel recommended face washes and products to use for my acne and I can’t thank him enough. My skin completely changed and now I have the clear skin I always dreamed of! I am now an adult and I finally feel confident in my own skin! Thank you! Dermatology Specialists is a valuable addition to our community. How nice to have a practice thats local with no parking deck or parking charge. Dr. Josh Hammel has performed several Mohs surgeries on me: one on my shin that was squamous cell, and one on my ear that was basal cell. My ear is a walking billboard for this practice. Everyone that sees my ear, can immediately perceive the surgical skill that was involved in removing the cancer, repairing the damage and reforming the outer edge. Im so glad that I found this local practice. Anyone who is looking for a dermatologist need look no further than Dr. Hammel and Dermatology Specialists of Georgia.

This is the most efficient, professional, and friendly dermatology practice I have ever been to. I was immediately checked in and seen by very friendly staff. I had a 10:00 a.m. appointment this morning and I was out the door by 10:30. They have had a lot of turnover in recent years but they seem to have consistently picked good dermatologists.My check-in was quick - printed out previous information and validate. I was called back within 7-8 minutes and saw the doctor within 15 minutes. I was there for an annual skin exam which was thorough and efficient.The staff was very friendly - Ashley took the time to let me know the doctor was on the way - and everyone from the check in person to the Dermatologist were very professional. I feel well cared for as a patient as well as respected as a person. Nice job!

Dr Hammel didn’t listen to a word I had to say. Automatically misdiagnosed me as having a dry scalp. He refused to do any tests. If you want to be dismissed within 5 minutes, this is your place.UPDATE:I went to Dr Jennifer Millsap in Roswell. She listened to my concerns, immediately did a scalp biopsy the next day. It turns out, that the lesions on my scalp and skin are from Discoid Lupus. I had lupus this entire time and Dr Hammel told me it was just a dry scalp with no explanation on the lesions. He should be ashamed of his self and how he quickly disregards and treats patients. How do you sleep well at night? A person like this should not be a doctor.

The front attendant Denise was absolutely sweet and attentive. The way she met all of the guests needs was very professional and timely. Then I met a few of the other doctors and Dr. Hammel and everyone’s energy and personality was contagious! They made me feel very comfortable and I left feeling like I had a hold over the issues I’m facing. They provided me with awesome advice and prescription that I can’t wait to start. Can’t wait to see them for a check in in 3 months!

The staff on hand is quick, nice and knowledgeable. My nurse, I dont remember his name, he was so sweet and asked me a million questions and gave me a bunch of samples and recommended many OTC products. However when the doctor came in it was like a whirlwind. I barely got a word in before he wrote stuff down and was out. I went to pick up my RX and found out he prescribed hydrocortisone and some other ointment even though I had already told them Id used hydrocortisone plenty of times. Nevertheless I used the products as prescribed and the eczema got worse. And he didnt even give me anything I could use for my face eczema. Overall do not recommend only because of my experience with the doctor. All the other staff was wonderful

If and when you need to ralk to someone there you can never get someone on the line that can help. I have had so much trouble getting ahold of a nurse or for them to call me back, that now if i need something i take an hour drive to the office to go in and speak with someone for a whole minute.

Dr. Hammel is great! But his staff could use a lot of help. They have made many mistakes in the short time that I have been a patient. Some examples include: failing to call in my prescription before closing for the weekend, sending my prescription to the wrong pharmacy, not returning my phone calls/messages that I’ve left (all of which has occurred on more than one occasion).

Dr. Hammer was awesome and very informative. Who really cared about my concerns. He was straight forward and hopefully put me on the right track to clear up my skin. See you in 3 month Dr.H

The office manager was very rude and doesn’t care to train her associates to do their basic jobs.The staff don’t know how to handle a payment and make you wait forever to do something. Stay away from this office if you don’t want to waste your time & money

Dr. Hammel is very pleasant, professional and gentle. I would recommend him without doubt. Gave the staff 4 stars due to wait in waiting room and exam room. No one advised me of a delay. I was in the exam room for 45 minutes for a 6 month full body exam.

Went inn for a mole I had on the side of my head close to the temple and wanted to see if it could be removed and yes!! I was a bit nervous but the doctor and nurses are great was painless and quick Im so happy to have finally gotten this quick procedure done and will be returning again very satisfied.

If you have skin cancer, this is the place that you want to go for detection and treatment. Dr. Hammill actually listened to my concerns about a skin issue. In the past, my other dermatologist just sprayed it with a freeze tank. The biopsy result was squamous cell cancer.I was in the office to have tissue on my nose biopsied. Im grateful Dr. Hammill addressed my concerns regarding the skin tissue on my ear. Mohs procedure has been scheduled.The entire staff is friendly, efficient and very competent.

This was my first visit to the practice and the receptionist (I cant recall her name) was very pleasant!Kiara, the MA, was exceptionally accommodating and very detailed. She provided a level of customer service from begin to end which is rarely seen now days.However, my experience with Dr. Hammel felt rushed, I didnt feel completely informed, and left with some questions. And while he was not rude at all, I felt like just another number. On a high note, perhaps this was a very busy day and not a normal experience, I hope my next visit will be different! :)I would have given this visit 3 1/2 stars but unfortunately that was not an option.

Extremely low quality for actual skin conditions. I went in to have a look at some weird red spots on me that itched unbearably. The doctor gave me some antibiotics and when those didnt work he essentially gave up and told me to just moisturize/use soaps for sensitive skin (despite tests showing a bacterial infection).The next month I got a gigantic bill for him just essentially saying screw it I dont know. I went to a different dermatologist and within one visit they fixed my issue. DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC FOR ANY ACTUAL SKIN CONDITION.

I have had good and positive interactions with this practice all the years I have been coming here. I was very sad when Dr.Schaen left but I am impressed with the care I have received from Dr.Josh Hammel. He is very competent and explains things well. He seems quite rushed at times but will always answer questions and is patient. I like that he does Mohs surgery too and that I dont have to go elsewhere for that.

I was seen pretty quickly after I arrived, which was good. The doctor came in and took a quick look and after about 5-10 minutes I was out if there. Unfortunately he said he couldn’t help with the “funny scar tissue” on my leg as he described it, and he prescribed Rx for my newfound acne. However, the topical meds may cause additional irritation he says, but it should go away in 2-3 weeks. This doesn’t sound good either. Overall, the appointment didn’t feel thorough and I left pretty deflated.

This is the first time I went to a doctors office and felt like everyone got along. I heard the staff laughing and smiling. The ladies at the front desk was helping one another with smiles. That is a HUGE pet peeves I have when being greeted.The doctor did not take a year and a day to make his grand entrance. It was pretty cool...my first visit but I know it wont be my last.

Dr. Schaen is an excellent dermatologist. She has worked with my entire family—she’s helped my kid with teenage skin issues. I’ve been super appreciative with regards to her knowledge of where and how best to get prescriptions at a great price—many times free, and working with my insurance. The billing office has had some definite issues as they merged with a conglomerate—hopefully that improves.

My appointment was at 11. They called me in right away. The doctor saw me within 5 minutes. The checkout was very thorough. Overall it was a great experience.

The dermatologist I saw was great however the waiting experience was not satisfactory. My appointment was at 9:45 I arrived to my appointment early & I was not seen until 10:40. There were a few patients that came in well after me & were seen before me. Totally unacceptable to me.

Not the friendliest staff, I was impressed with the removal of a mole I had, very little pain and it was fast. As far as my skin condition I don’t feel like I got many answers, but the doctor was nice and did address one of the problems I was having.

5 for the locations. But 1 star for the doctor services. Everyone that has a acne problem deserves to be treated as important as one has a chronic one. I do not feel confident with the doct, he treated like it is ok. I paid $25 co-pay for not even been check up by the doctor. I felt like it was just nurse appoitment. He was who made the question and the reviews about my history acne treatment. And the best part is that the medication he gave to me it was the same I have had in my country last year, and it was not covered by my insurance, so ah!🤨😒. To disappoint with this dermatologist🤔

Dr Schaen and her staff are absolutely amazing! They are very pleasant and keep to the appointment time . I had severe acne and my face was completely transformed in less than six months. You would definitely see results as long as you are patient and follow instructions. I highly recommend!

I am having a big issue even making an appointment. Ive called numerous times and even left messages with my name and number clearly so there should not be any confusion whatsoever. I made sure to call during their opening hours as listed on their website. I was drawn to them because of the positive reviews but that doesnt even matter anymore since they are quite unprofessional. Unfortunately, I will just have to find somewhere else that wants my business!

I had my visit on 11/8/2017 and I did not have a good experience. Ive been to this office on and off since 2013. Back in 2013, I had a really good dermatologist until he moved to Virginia. After that, I was assigned to a different Dermatologist, he was very rude and unprofessional. I left for a while and went back this time b/c theyre on my network and not too far from my house.The doctor barely look at my face to see the type of acne I have but went ahead and prescribed me medications to take. She also left alone in the room a very long while before coming back in to do other skin treatment on me. The nurse forgot to call in my prescription so I went to CVS for nothing. The nurse was also not very nice at all.There is no direct line or phone number to talk the staff at the office. Your call will be automatically routed to a third party scheduling center.Overall, not a very pleasant experience to have and I will be searching around for another dermatologist office before my next followup appointment.

This place isnt for me. I came for an appointment, waited 2hrs and had to leave before I could be seen. No one told me the wait would be that long and they had to have known up front. I already paid so I rescheduled. Came back and waited another hour and then the doctor spent maybe 5 minutes with me (including skin cancer screening). The doctor has great reviews as a surgeon but I will be finding another dermatologist.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Lori Schaen for 17 years and she is the best dermatologist Ive seen. She is caring and professional with a world-class expertise. I, too, am looking for Dr. Schaen after she left Dermatology Specialists (DS), probably because of its incompetent management. Dr. Schaen used to run her own practice but several years back merged with DS. The low ratings you see are not for Dr. Schaen but Dermatology Specialists management. If anyone knows where Dr. Schaen is, please let me know!

Receptionist is very rude. My 730am appointment was cancelled and they notified me as I walked in the door. Definitely finding a new dermatology office. I would not recommend this place.

At first I was overwhelmed because they have a lot of treatments to choose from, but dont worry, their dermatologists will explain everything clearly and help you choose the right treatment for you. Great service, Ill make sure to come back only to them for all my skincare treatments.

YOU CAN NOT RECEIVE PREVENTATIVE SKIN SCREENINGS HERE. Per Theresa, my insurance covers preventative skin screenings at 100%, however this office will not code them as such and you will be charged for a full medical office visit to be paid in full out of pocket. I have BC/BS. Additionally, I am STILL trying to resolve a billing mistake made over a year ago. The office puts burden of proof on the customer.

They gouged my face and left a nasty scar for what should have been a light scraping. They also prescribe unnecessary expensive products that have made my skin worse, with my skin improving as soon as I stopped using them. For a simple daily prescription they require seeing you constantly, thus grubbing more money unnecessarily. They were completely rude to me last time and would not accommodate the fact that I was out of script and flying out of town for two weeks. They need their copay more than keeping me as a patient, thus they value money over caring for their clients. They have constant turnover in Doctors, I had 3 different ones within a year. If you value your skin do not go here.

Dont go here!!! the front desk are extremely prejudice and rude. I never seen such lack of customer service in my life. I called the day prior and said I was going to miss my appt because it was pouring down raining and I got in a fender bender so they rescheduled for tomorrow and said I would have to pay 75 dollars. I thought that was inconsiderate but I just charged it to the game. The next day I arrive 3 mins after the grace period and she said were not taking you matter fact we dont want to take u anymore...Are you serious?? My insurance pays u in full each time I come here and your going to talk to me like that. She stated itll be 75 again and I can reschedule...mind u there is is no one waiting in the viewing area. I told her to politely give me my files and Ill go elsewhere she said it wont be today Ill have it to u Monday. I know she was expecting this young black man to act ignorant but I rather kill her with kindness like my mom taught me. They really need to reevaluate their front staff and nurse, however Dr. Shane is great.
