This is not a review of a massage but a review of the management here and the type of environment that is unique to this particular hand and stone. I am a wife of a current employee. I am disabled. My health can be very turbulent. In just this last year alone Ive had two major surgeries, one planned, one emergency and for both the management worked with my husband. They treated him with the utmost respect, especially with the recent emergency surgery. Not only do they work with him and treat him like a person they checked up on us to make sure we were okay. They generally care about their employees and their families and I am forever grateful. If you are good to this place they are good to you.

I do not recommend this place. They don’t have any grace periods or anything and they charge you full price. Since their services are commission based they really don’t care about customer service on the front end. The therapists are wonderful but their management is terrible. Also, for their memberships they charge they change once you go to other hand and stones and state they are all inclusive but it’s not true at all. Dion is a wonderful masseuse but frankly their customer service up front is completely terrible. If there is a way to avoid the front desk - you should! I wouldn’t recommend their service facility.

I went in to Hand & Stone for a facial, as I have been experiencing worsening acne and was hoping that an extraction would help clear up my skin. I would have liked to write a 5 star review, as the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the treatments. They recommended a facial specific to my skin, and made sure that I was comfortable and informed about the treatment I was receiving.Unfortunately, the facial itself felt a bit more like a sales pitch than anything else. My esthetician was very informative about the products that she was using, which I appreciated, but unfortunately the extraction itself only lasted about 5 minutes, and there were countless blackheads on my nose that did not get extracted or addressed. At my estheticians recommendation, I had upgraded to a calming facial, as I have sensitive skin and the products seemed better tailored to my skin. However, Im not sure if this upgrade also decreased the amount of time dedicated to extraction.I would like to give the staff the benefit of the doubt, as this review is not a reflection on their customer service in any way- as I said, the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the treatments. However, being that I am a college student and cannot afford to pay for regular facial treatments, I was hoping that this facial would have been more thorough in terms of extractions.

I am going on 7 years as a member now. Great location in north Arvada. Clean and calming ambiance. Terrific owner and friendly staff. Many service options. Peppermint scalp massage is the best!

I transferred a package to my mother in law as a gift for a facial. They charged me a $10 transfer fee to transfer the package. No other Hand and Stone location has ever charged me a transfer fee. I have been a member of hand and stone for four years and have used multiple locations and they have never charged me a transfer fee for all of the times that my husband and mother in law have used my packages that I pay for monthly. $10 dollars does not make or break me, but the owner was not willing to cut us a break on the $10 that is claimed to be a franchise fee. Long and short, if you do not want to be Nickel and dimed as a customer, choose a location like the Englewood or Aurora Hand and Stone. They are exceptional in their customer service.

I recently had an amazing facial by Teresa Minami. She is FABULOUS!! She has been doing skin care for years and is so knowledgeable. She explained everything very well and helped me to understand how to best care for my skin when at home. She is beautiful, kind, caring and professional. I will definitely visit Hand and Stone again just to see Teresa!

Hand and Stone started out great but the massages varied based on who you got. The biggest problem I have with this hand and stone is the continuous cancelations on their end, their front desk not booking the appropriate dates when they need to cancel, and the extremely rude manager when we try to rectify the issue stating that “if we don’t like it, you can go to another hand and stone”.This isn’t one of those “let me speak to a manager” Karen type situations. We have been trying to book a massage since February and they keep rescheduling or getting the dates/times completely wrong. When we tried to escalate it and say “hey, there’s a disconnect here and we want to ensure we point out an issue”, we couldn’t get it resolved with the manager. The conversation ended with her hanging up on us... I was shocked and WILL NOT be going back to this location or any hand and stone.I did want to give two stars because it wasn’t all bad. Customer service is so huge and think that this specific hand and stone can benefit from retraining their front of house and figuring out their notifications/email reminders.

Whatever you do. Do not sign up for the membership if you work a normal mon-fri schedule. You won’t be able to be seen unless you schedule something months in advance

I had a hot stone massage last week and it was wonderful!Karen did a remarkable job. She was very tentative to my needs. I am a member and was happy to see them reopen after the virus shutdown. They did everything right regarding the Covid 19 business requirements. The front desk staff is great also. I cant wait for my next appointment..

I will never go there again.I was given a gift card for hand & stone & I was given a wonderful regular massage. When I went to check out, I found out that I was given the wrong massage. I was sent on my way i was not offered any kind of compensation for their mistake. I will not be going back & Ive been telling people of my experience.

Front desk is very friendly and super helpful. Helena can get you set up with anything. I have the monthly membership and it is wonderful! Great value and now, instead of feeling guilty about getting a massage once a month, I am able to call it what it is...self care for a person with a full time job who also helps out her senior parents. My massage therapist is Kathy & she is amazing! Kind, caring and knows where to find my trouble spots. She checks in with me during the massage for ouchy spots but allows me to zone out for the rest of the time. Its perfect for me. Go see Helena about setting up a massage with Kathy! But dont take my spot! ;)

I made a New Years resolution to pamper my hard working body. They have a membership that makes it easy to do so. I am super happy with my 1st hot stone massage. They offer all kinds of services and I cant wait to try them all.

I think the guy’s name who massaged me was Matt - he did rather intensive body work, lots of strong pressure, sometimes too much but I would just tell him. Took a shower when I got home and was so hungry I ate lunch twice! And of course lots of liquids. Overall a pretty good experience , I would come back again but I’ll choose someone else

I very recently started coming here due to an auto accident. The front desk staff are kind, patient and friendly. My massage therapist, Liz, is incredible! Especially if you like a solid deep tissue massage, (I really do). Im sure shes also very gentle when need be. Her hands are magical. Im definitely continuing to be a member for a long time to come.

Celma was fantastic! She read my form thoroughly and asked a lot of questions before we started. She checked in regularly and was very friendly. The facility is clean and laid-back; not as intimidating as other spas Ive been too. I found Hand and Stone through a gift card and became a monthly member after my first massage - I will definitely be going back and trying their facials as well.

My daughter and I visit this location monthly. The service is attentive and timely. All of the massage therapists we have experienced are knowledgeable, attentive and helpful. Besides giving us excellent massages they have given me helpful exercise tips and ideas. We look forward to our monthly massage and would recommend this location to others.

One of the worst massages I have had. For one, my massage therapist was not very friendly. She actually made me feel awkward and uncomfortable. Second, it’s obvious they do not read your intake form, which asks you what you want massaged and what kind of pressure you would like. They don’t read it and put you with anyone that’s free. I asked for firm pressure and my massage therapist merely rubbed oil on my back. I could barely feel anything! I asked for more pressure which worked for about a minute and then she went back to just spreading the oil around. Not only does my back still ache (I’m 8 months pregnant), but now my head hurts because I spent good money on getting my back oiled. I should have just went to Element.

I got a 60 min upper body massage with Kira. The pressure was just right, medium to firm, but it just wasnt enough. I was still pretty tense at the end, so that night I did an epsom salt bath. It was a fine experience, but Ive had better. Might just get 90 mins next time.

I always enjoy going into this hand and stone. David is very client focused. Lisa knows me as soon as I walk in and that I like to check out and reschedule before my massage. Mia is a fantastic massage therapist- friendly, knowledgeable, thorough. Today I had Selma who was also wonderful - great pressure at working trigger points, relaxing, and also thorough. She consistently checked in on the pressure and called me by name. I havent had a bad experience yet and Im sure I wont.

Easy to book appointments online and nice to have appointments on Sundays. However, I scheduled my appointment with a specific therapist. She did not show up to work that day and I got switched to a different therapist. Not the best massage, but it was decent. I also expected to receive some sort of first time visit special, but I did not.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this particular Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa; basically it is wonderful. I have been a member for over a year and it is truly an immeasurable investment for my self-care. All of the therapists are unique in their skill sets and are, in my opinion, encouraged to share their individual care styles with their clients. The professionalism, for me, is unmatched. I just received a facial form Candace today and cannot stop looking at my face! My skin is very sensitive and becomes splotchy, but it is glowing and I do not remember a time that my skin tone has been this even!Thanks for all that all of you do =)~

This place is amazing! I felt calm and relaxed the moment I walked in the door. The staff is wonderful and they want you to be comfortable from when you walk in the door until you walk out. I have had a signature facial and a Swedish massage and both were the best I’ve had around here. Highly recommend!

It is great to have this company located in Arvada, it takes me just a few minutes to get there. The staff are calm and friendly and the place is very nice and not overpriced. 3 out of the 4 massage therapists I have had appointments with were great and the most recent person really helped me out since I am in a very stressful situation currently. I recommend Hand and Stone.

I visited for the first time last night. The massage itself was good; Johanna was great. But Im disappointed by the service provided by the front desk. When my massage finished, both the assistant manager and the other woman worker were busy checking in and out others. The assistant manager seemed to be busy with a long personal conversation even though many people were waiting. After breaking herself away from her conversation, instead of acknowledging me as I was waiting to pay, she took care of people behind me, who had entered after I was waiting, never once even acknowledging my wait or even my presence. But when a member that she was familiar with came out of their massage, she greeted them immediately and asked for their patience. Overall a meh experience and not as relaxing as I was hoping.

I’ve been here for a facial and massage. I enjoyed both. When I got my massage the lady talked the entire time, I was happy that they were friendly but was looking forward to relaxing.

Okay massage at a decent price. *Update do not sign up for their program!!! Almost impossible to cancel and when you are able to finally get the manager to cancel the subscription she hangs up on you. No confirmation. And they still have over 80.00 in credit they took from my account that is now what invalid!!!! Worst company, horrible business practices, and rude staff. Save yourself time, money, and a headache by going somewhere elce.

Canceling my membership was the biggest hassle. I was talked down to, harassed, and told “you better have a good excuse because our manager is going to want a good reason to why you’re canceling” along with multiple other rude comments. When they couldn’t get ahold of me after canceling, they called my emergency contact to get ahold of me, which we both found completely inappropriate and not an emergency. Because of the way I was treated when canceling my membership, I will never go to Hand and Stone again.

All Service was great expect the rude woman on the phone & upfront. Mary or Madison was her name? Uncalled for attitude & definitely difficult.

Previously I posted a good review about Hand and Stone but today I have to change that a bit. Last week my therapist was sick so she cancelled the appointment. No big deal, we rescheduled for today. I mixed up the times unfortunately and was 20 minutes late. The reception informed me that I could not reschedule and they will charge me whether I take the half massage or not. I took it because I was being charged anyways but could not relax due to the inconvenience. I know it was my mistake but you shouldnt penalize you customers on their first mix up. I have never been late or cancelled previously. All I got was a weak apology when Hand and Stone cancelled. You lost a member over $25 and the inability to be flexible.

It has a nice atmosphere and the people are super friendly. I enjoyed my massage.

I have nothing negative to say. From the staff at the front desk to the massage therapist I am always treated kindly. Karen is my favorite massage therapist, but the others did a great job as well!

I have been going here for almost a year now and I would highly recommend it. If you want a wonderful massage Kristi is amazing. Also their facials are fantastic and they use high end products. Looking to treat yourself or someone else this is a great place for pampering.

The massages all wonderful, I use Liz, she gives just the right pressure. I have had many facials they are good but shop around until you find one you like.

Hit or miss. Multiple issues when rescheduling appointments. One time came in, waited for 15 min, then was told the therapist was a no-show (?) Today came in and was told I wasnt on schedule at all, and this is after calling salon 3 times in December before holidays to reschedule. Very frustrating. Challenge to schedule with therapists I like - they either leave or change their work hours. Only come here to get treatments from my faves, all kudos to them.

I have been this facility every week to two for over 10 months and could not be happier. The facility is always extremely clean and pleasant. You are always offered water or hot tea upon arrival. I treied 4 different massage theraphist until I found the right one for me and I have been using Dion for well over 8 months. Dion always asks first thing if there is anything that has changed with my health or physical status then always seems to know exactly what massage particulars I need for that session. Very pleasant with no small talk just gets right to work and delivers your moneys worth.

My people never stay long so I never know if its going to be good

Awesome customer service. Highly recommend this location especially, the staff is relaxed as well as friendly making your experience as comfortable as possible and I am personally always happy with the work done. If youre looking for a Calm relaxing atmosphere with fantastic people this is the place to go.

Our Techs were late to get us from waiting room, we had a couples massage and the whole thing felt rushed. We did not get our full 60 minutes of massage due to the tech being late to get us. Room was nice for couples massage, check in lady at the front desk, cold and unhappy, short and rude, also never greeted us, merely are you here for an appt?. Daughter did not receive her extra add on service, and checking out with a GC required an extra phone call after we left the facility. They ended up using services off my daughters membership account even though I reiterated over and over to use the GC ( it was for a couples massage!). All in All, I would choose somewhere different if you are looking for a relaxing and upbeat environment. With 3-4 people lingering around the front desk at all times, you would think you would get great service, you dont, they are all wrapped in personal conversations about who is going out with you after work, who is leaving early and why you cant leave early, and comparing hair products. Be ready to be ignored, late appts and rushed massages that are NOT cheap....then checked out incorrectly when you leave ( if you are lucky enough to get someone to acknowledge you) Go anywhere but here.

I had my fisrt visit here thanks to a birthday gift card from a friend. Loved it! Lisa at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Jackie gave me an amazing massage and now I cant wait to go back. Highly recommend this location!

The massage that I experienced at this place was by far the best Ive ever had. If you have sore muscles from working out or playing sports, have Liz work on you and you will feel like a new person. Very satisfied!

Loved the massage by Melina! Did not appreciate the hard sell tactics from the front desk ladies trying to convince me to join their monthly pre paid membership. Finally after 5 times telling them not today (1 time prior to the massage and 4 times after) and a bit of irritation on my part did they finally stop. Lisa and the other front desk gal succeeded in negating some of the relaxation. Too bad, wont be back, but Melina was awesome!

I had an unusual massage today. I came in for a hot stone massage and the stones had not been warmed, so I opted to do a different massage instead. Also, my masseuse had a cough so unfortunately it was not a very relaxing experience. Lastly, the lights were never dimmed and I was never asked whether I wanted the table heater on. Overall, it felt a little disorganized, more than the usual.

The man out front of the building took all my clothes and refused to give them back, very nice!

I go to this location monthly and always have the best service and experience. Ive been going for a little over a year for massages and facials and love it.

This review is a long time coming. I went here because my wonderful hubby bought me a 3 month membership. First time I went was for a massage. I chose the hot stone massage and asked with my health issues if this was ok to get. I was told yes. After the massage I was told that I had to get a MDs note stating it was ok to get any further massages, I asked why and they said due to my health history, I needed approval from my MD. They could not tell me this BEFORE I got my first massage though. I ended up going to the ER a day or two later, most likely due to the massage. I was told I never should have gotten a hot stone massage. I have tried to get other types of massages elsewhere and have been told absolutely not due to health reasons. I feel that they are only interested in a persons money and would probably give a massage to anyone, regardless of their health. Next visit I got a facial and the gal says oh so you are that girl. First facial was good, second not so much. She did tell me that she would be massaging my arms, hands, face etc. They did not ask me if I ever got that note from my doctor, knowing that there would still be a massage.

Very clean and calming. My therapist did a wonderful job. I felt warm, comfortable and safe. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone asking for a place for a massage.

I live for my massages with Mia. The bed is super comfortable, and I really enjoyed the warmth and the nice relaxing music that was played for relaxation. Mia is a true professional and does a great job every time!

Waste of money and time. Felt like a kid massaging rubbing you as dont know what they were doing. I specifically explained what I wanted and that I had knots - didnt address those spots. I lost $50 dollars on a worthless massage. I have had massages before and this is the worse one ever as makes me wonder is she really certified? Or went to a massage school.? I can feel my knots and try to get them myself. Thai massages and other massages are better. Very disappointed.

I really like going in there every month for a facial. I like the staff. and find the ongoing monthly program offered by hand and stone to be convenient, and a great way to spoil myself.
