I cannot say enough about Dr Ryan and his staff. I have dealt with constant tendonitis and pain for the past 3-4 years. I have consulted multiple Navy doctors for help and the answer I have always been given is to simple “rest it.” This however was not enough.After my initial consultation, I was still skeptical on how much chiropractics could actually do to help. Dr. Ryan and his staff have completely changed my life. I woke up one day with extreme neck pain. I thought I had slept on the wrong side of the pillow. I dealt with the pain for months and tried massages and topical treatments that provided no relief. A friend of mine referred me to Shakley Chiropractic and Wellness. Dr. Ryan did an excellent job making me feel comfortable from the moment I stepped in the office. He explained my medical issues with simplicity but also went great depth and technical with my continued follow up questions. When I moved to Annapolis in 2016 Dr. Ryan was the first doctor I established in my new home. I think I started seeing him 2 weeks after moving here. My father was a chiropractor and I have always had chiropractic in my life to support my heath. Dr. Ryan is one of the best. He is patient and cares about his patients and their health. The staff is happy to help make your visit comfortable and easy in any way they can. I just can’t say enough about how much I appreciate this office. I go weekly, my choice because I feel it’s that important to my overall heath, but even if you find your normal is once per month, that’s fine! Chiropractic needs to a part of your regimen just like brushing your teeth and seeing the dentist regularly.

Great treatment and AMAZING staff! I have had such a wonderful experience here. Dr. Shakley was really thorough in his initial exam and coming up with a treatment plan. He did a really great job of sharing what he is doing and why. He is very caring and takes the time to get to know you. Each session he makes sure to check in with how you are doing, and will make sure you are being honest with him. Ive really appreciated how he goes beyond just doing adjustments, but will also suggest stretches and exercises to help with my problems. The other staff (the two Ms.Carols and Ms. Lynsey ) are so wonderful as well. From the second you walk in they make you feel like family, so friendly and welcoming. Going to the chiropractor is always a highlight of my week!

Chiropractic care made me nervous until my mom recommended Dr. Ryan. She told me about how lovely he, his wife and entire staff is. She is absolutely correct! I was greatly impressed because not only did he take x-rays and do a physical to see my range of motion, he also took the time to show and educate me on my body and it’s many issues. I love getting my adjustments and learning new ways to stretch or how I should sit while I drive-Always very informative! I feel super relaxed from the therapy after my adjustment and I can feel the effects immediately.

I have been under the care of Dr Ryan for the past six months. I cannot possibly recommend him and his entire staff enough to anyone in need of chiropractic care. He initially saw me for a horseback riding fall and just about the time I had recovered I was in an auto accident, rear ended from behind. I was always skeptical about going to a chiropractor. Some work friends used to say once you visit one, youll always have to go, saying it in a negative way. WAS I WRONG!!! I started having troubles with my neck and a pins and needles feelings racing down my arm. I looked up Dr Ryan Shakley and after reading the positive reviews people posted on Google and Yelp, I made an appointment. Dr. Shakley took the time to talk to me about my condition, took x-rays of my spine, and asked me to return in a few days while he did his homework. During my second visit, Dr. Shakley showed me on the x-rays where I had some problems in my neck and back, explained fully how he was going to treat me, and came up with a plan of action to literally straighten out my vertebrae that were causing the pain in my neck and feelings in my arm. Its been about a month now of treatment and the pins and needles feeling in my arm that was constant has now almost disappeared. Just last night I was able to sleep comfortably on my stomach. I am seeing really positive results and recommend you too go see Dr Ryan Shakley. Dr. Ryan has been an absolute blessing to our family and we are so thankful for all he and his team have done for us!Our journey with Dr. Ryan began in 2016, as a desperate measure to cure our sweet, 6 week old daughter. In her 6 short weeks on this earth, she took a turn and became very irritable, uncomfortable, and often crying for no apparent reason. We had tried everything (or at least, we thought we had as new parents!) and were starting to believe that her cries were something that wed just have to live with, until she grew out of it.Insert Dr. Ryan!!!From our first visit, he and Lynsey were so kind and caring. Their approach, demeanor, and flexibility was beyond our greatest expectations. They fit us into their schedules ASAP (as in, Lynsey offered for them to stay late to meet us!), to meet with us.Within minutes, he was able to identify what how/where our daughter was out of alignment. He also showed us simple activities that we could engage in with her at home, to help with her discomfort. Within a few quick adjustments, she returned to the happy, smiling self and we couldnt be more fortunate for the time that Dr. Ryan spent with us and for helping her.At this time, my husband and I were not new to chiropractic, but I will be honest that I was very apprehensive in bringing my 6 week old baby to be seen. I have going to Dr. Shakley for about a year and a half now. Initially I went to for some pain and inflammation in my shoulder. Now I go for just maintenance to keep my body in optimal condition. I’m a runner and the long distances pounding the pavement shifts things around. Dr. Ryan sets me straight, so I can get back out injury free.

I am a Firefighter and I have been having issues with my low back and hip for over a year. I work out regularly and it had gotten to the point that I was in a lot of pain trying to do any type of squat...even body weight. I also had pretty bad pain after a day of work when i had to go up and down a bunch of stairs carrying our equipment.I expected a little relief from Dr. Shakley but that ultimately I would still be limited in what I could do. I am very happy to say that I haven been getting treatments for a couple of months now and I am able to do squats and I go through most days without any pain or limitation.Dr. Shakley and his entire staff are so helpful and answer any questions I have. Due to my schedule I have had to change my appointments a lot and they are always accommodating and understanding. At the top of my gratitude list on this Thanksgiving Day is having found Doctor Ryan. For five months prior to meeting Doctor Ryan, I was unable to function due to indescribable pain, which several out-of-state medical professionals, where I live, misdiagnosed over and over and prescribed improper treatments. I consider myself so blessed to be under Doctor Ryans care. After conducting various tests and an in-depth analysis, Doctor Ryan diagnosed my condition like no other professional could. His comprehensive approach is unmatched. Im finally able to get back to normal daily activities. I visited Dr. Ryans office with severe sciatic pain which turned out to be a herniated disk. Three months later I have no more pain and started to slowly return to my regular excercise program. Dr. Ryan listened to my problems (including my arthritris pain in my hand which he also eliminated) and is very attentive. I was referred to Dr. Ryan by a friend for my back woes and I have been getting treatments for a couple of months now. The initial consult I thought was very thorough. Over the months I have done fairly well, I have about half my range of lost motion restored back. As for the pain it has been slow but steady progress. But there definitely has been improvement.The staff is very friendly and personable. Appointments also have been very prompt, only a few times have I graced a chair in the waiting room. Dr Ryan also takes the time to address any concerns or questions that I may have. I was reluctant to even go to a new Chriopractor because no one else had been able to do anything. Dr. Shakley is extremely thourough in his exam and really takes his time with you. I have been going to him for almost a year now and my headaches which were weekly and sometimes several times in a week are all but gone. I still get one from time to time but nothing like before. Im forever grateful.

Dr Shakley saved my life. I had spinal injury from an automobile accident and had gone elsewhere over 50 visits with marginal improvement. When it got so bad that I could not stand or sleep for two and a half days, I went to Dr. Shakley. He determined a treatment plan that restored my health. I lost the extra 40 pounds that I had gained from not being able to do much. I can even run now, let alone walk normally. Even if you have tried other chiropractors, I recommend trying Dr Shakley and give him the opportunity to improve your health.

There arent enough good words to describe Shakely Chiropractic. All of the front staff are so sweet, casual, and thorough. I had never even considered seeing a doctor about my neck & back until it just hit me one day that I needed to at least get assessed and see if there was anything to be done to get my pain in control while I prepare for an operation.I have been impressed by Dr. Ryan since my consultation/first appointment; honestly, I look forward to my chiro appointments, and knowing that Ill leave feeling better. The immense dull pain I used to perpetually feel in my upper back was drastically reduce after my first week of appointments. I thought it was maybe in my head (hoping) but nope, I really was feeling the difference. Ive also noticed changes in my posture over these last couple of months. Im sure one day I wont *need* an appointment, but Ill definitely be doing check-in ones just to make sure everything is how its supposed to be!

Ive been seeing Dr. Ryan for a few months now and my neck has never felt better. As an esthetician I spend my days bent over working on clients. This causes me a lot of pain and loss of mobilty in my neck. I dont like taking medications and thought I would give chiropractic therapy a try. Dr. Ryan is incredibly thorough doing a full work up with xrays before an adjustment was even scheduled. We sat and discussed the course of treatment that would be best suited for my needs.
