Let me start off by saying that attending this hospital was a mistake. I was not the patient, my father was. My father walked into UM Hospital feeling stronger than ever, physically and emotionally. He found out that he has stage 4 cancer and he was told by a specific doctor that there was no hope for him and he simply needed to go die at home. He also asked my father where hed like to die, either at home or at the hospital. Speaking from my perspective, that is the most disrespectful thing that could come out of a doctors mouth. A doctors job is to comfort the patient and make them feel him like there is hope and there is a way out of this, not put him down and make the patient feel like pure garbage. We decided to get my father out of there, and when we did, they kept bugging us with letters and phone calls to discuss my cancer treatment such as chemo, immunotherapy, etc. They then realized my father could be treated after we left, but it was already too late. We decided to get a second opinion at another hospital, and my father is currently undergoing chemotherapy and he is hopefully on his way to recovery. The difference is that UM Hospital gave my dad no hope and they said it in the most brutal way possible, making him feel depressed and that there is no hope for treating his cancer, versus the hospital he is at now gave him hope and told him they would try everything they can. If I could go back and change one thing, it would be not considering UM Hospital to seek medical attention. This specific doctor needs to work on making a patients visit less stressful and more comforting.

We are receiving excellent medical care, and the empathetic service orientation of each team of employees at all levels has been so impressive. My husbands surgical needs were extensive and specialized knowledge was required. We got it.

My adult son had to go to emergency for appendicitis, and care was top notch all the way. We were very impressed.

Caring and professional staff and the medical portal for patients to review medical tests and review letters from doctors and staff is first class.

I love this Hospital, they saved my life years ago and Ive been ever so graceful for it. And the Staff is amazing and the Nurses are Angles . It really is an Amazing Hospit
