I needed to get my eyes checked and was told by friends to go here for excellent care. I was greeted by the front office team and asked to fill out more paperwork. It seemed like I was just another random customer to them. I was called back and dealt with by someone with actual understanding that it was my first time visiting this office and she offered up a little bit of helpful information. The doctor examined my eyes and tested my vision. He told me new glasses were needed and the front desk would take care of me. They printed off my new script and told me to have a nice day. No offer to make an appointment or talk to the folks that order and fit for new glasses. So I guess they dont really need my business. At least I have my script to go elsewhere.

I have been a patient of Dr. Terry Chin for over 40 years. I have always been treated by all staff as I were their only patient. Always polite and all questions answered. The Optical Center has been my only place to order glasses and contacts, as they have a wide selection and work with my insurance to ensure reasonable prices. Even during this crazy time, they made sure that my new glasses were exactly what I wanted and even though I needed to make an appointment, did not feel rushed to make a selection. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Friendly staff, quiet atmosphere and great customer service. The Doctors are experienced and provide excellent service during appointments. Optical section always has the latest trending styles and brands for product offerings. Place is a little dated which is why I gave it a 4 instead of 5 stars. I would of put 4.5 stars but thats not an option! Other than that, I highly recommend this location.

As always my visit at Andover Eye Associates was with Pleasant, Knowledgeable and Caring individuals from the Front Desk Staff and all other individuals who made me feel that I was welcomed & important to them. When I was called in by the Technician she explained to me and my Spouse who came with me what test was going to be performed and where my Spouse had to wait while I had to go to another room. During the course of the exam I was having I began having pain in positioning myself for the test to be successful. The Technician was very understanding and suggested ways that I could position myself so to have less pain. She also asked if I wanted to cancel the exam rather than deal with the pain. With her help the test was completed& she helped me back to the room where I would be examined by my Physician who was prompt in returning to discuss the results of the test and the continuing course of treatment. He explained everything in easy to understand terms.I cannot be happier with every aspect of this visit.

I love all the staff at this office. As a mother of six children, and in a family with several eye issues, Ive entrusted our ophthalmology care to Andover Eye Associates for 23 years. From annual checkups, glasses, and a corneal abrasion; to diabetic follow ups, retinal concerns, and dry eye; these doctors are not only skilled, but friendly and compassionate. Their resumes definitely impress, too! The front office staff is efficient, yet greets us by name. They have bent over backwards to help us at each appointment. Highly HIGHLY recommend!

I am a HUGE fan of Andover Eye Assoc. The optical area is by far my favorite. The ladies in the office are fun to work with, knowledgable and honest with their feedback & opinion when I try products on. Plus they always offer multiple options and a wide varied of selections. Every time I place in order, it arrives within days and never had an issue. I really appreciate the wonderful customer service experience I always receive when I visit the office. I have been a patient for years and I had to leave a review since Dr. Chin truly helped me out when I needed him most. I had an issue of dry eyes and getting frequent eye infections. I met with him for help and he handed me samples of daily contacts, monitor my sleep (sleep with eyes open, fan on, etc.) and keep an eye out on daily routines & environment to see what the cause is. Come to find out it was contacts and as soon as I switched - NO MORE ISSUES! Thanks Doc!

Have been seeing Dr Chin for 20 years. The staff is friendly. I never have to wait to get in. They are timely with Appointments. Not like other places that make you wait an extra 30 minutes. Really down to earth folks. Can’t recommend them enough.

Super customer service and great value! I was in and out in a half hour, and I was able to select and try on frames at my own pace.

The doctors and techs here are great, however I’ve had a horrible experience in dealing with reception/office. I went to urgent care on a Saturday afternoon and found out I had a corneal ulcer (which is very serious as you can lose your vision). The urgent care doctor contacted andover eye and spoke with a doctor who told me to come in first thing on Monday (since they are closed Sundays) I get there and receptionist is pretty rude to me and taken aback by this fact rudely tells me I need a referral from my PCP and I HAD to sign a form (saying I didn’t have a referral?) though my doctor had sent one over. I get seen by a doctor all is well.. I needed to start a prescription that day... 2-3 hours after appointment I go to my pharmacy... no RX there. Call andover eye and the receptionist I spoke to told me I WAS SUPPOSED TO TELL HER I needed a prescription and asked me for all the info... (that’s NOT the responsibility of the patient). Anyways another 3 hours go by and I call my pharmacy... still no prescription. I call the office again to which they say they’ve closed early because they have no AC and she will contact the dr. I need the meds for my eyes or I could have permanent scarring and possibly blindness... I can’t believe how terribly, unprofessionally, and insensitive they were... still waiting for my meds which I was supposed to be able to start today and do 4X. Love the doctors but in an emergency this was handled incredibly poorly on the part of the office workers. Very very disappointed!

Great Experience! Erica was extremely helpful. She took the time to help me select glasses that were a good fit for me. She didnt make me feel rushed at all. She was really sweet. They called me as soon as my contacts came in and called me as soon as my glasses came in. I am definitely spreading the word about how great Andover Eye is!!! Thank you!!!! Sandra

I have had a different experience than most. I have found the office staff quiet helpful. Personally I struggle with the softer skills of Dr Chin and think he has room for improvement in this area. However he is knowledgeable and very strong at contact lense fittings. A good technician which ultimately is why i am there.

I want to preface this by saying that I dont normally review places with 5 stars. I may very well have gone with 4, but bumped it to 5 due to the number of unfair 1 start reviews dumped on them in years past. Im a relatively new patient of Dr. Jason Chin, but Ive stopped by the site a few times. Every time Ive called or visited my wait time has been close to nil. The staff in the optical shop are lovely, and notified me right away when my orders have come in. Ive also not noticed any rudeness from the front desk staff. While it might be because I come in well dressed and relaxed, I just cant report on any negative behavior...because I just havent seen any. Now Ive been to a number of eye doctors (mostly chain businesses), and Ive never had the confidence in my provider that I have at Andover Eye Associates. Id suggest at least coming by and giving them a chance.

I went there out of convenience and location....but After 20 years of CONSTANT issues....Im done!!!!They wouldnt call in script for antibiotic eye drops for an autoimmune disorder thst results in corneal ulcers (VERY PAINFUL) that ive been taking for over 20 years.... because I had an unpaid balance from 2017 that I was never billed for nor told of (even tho I was there 3 months ago). And that is only scratching the surface.... they lack punctuality, professionalism, and decency.

Zero stars for the office experience...5 stars for Dr. Greiner. Dr. Greiner is the best and I will always appreciate his care but, I will never go back to Andover Eye Associates due to the crazy amount of time spent waiting to see the doctors. If you do not work and do not maintain a work schedule, you will be fine at the Andover Eye Associates. For anyone attempting to make a living, be prepared for 3 hr office visits that will completely screw up your work day. Also reception is in dire need of an attitude adjustment.

In summary, I agree with TheCharmngcharmed1s review of the receptionists. Please read on.I really appreciate Dr Chins service, Ive been seeing him for a few years and hes been helpful and thorough with responding to any concerns/questions I had raised. However, I have to leave a 1 star review as I dont appreciate the help Ive received from the front desk. The conversations Ive had with them, have always portrayed a sense of entitlement (quite the contrary to Dr Chins approach or the optical stores approach). Theyre not entitled to my business, especially when its difficult to work with them to schedule appointments. Im also not a fan of being put on hold for minutes on end, nearly each time I call, just send me to voicemail or take my number down.

First appointment for an eye infection resulted in a one hour wait, on top of my arriving early knowing that I would have to fill out several forms.Third appointment, the same thing, one hour of waiting, I do not even think the Doctor was in the building.Worse, on the 3rd / last appointment a stray eyelash was detected in my eye and the Doctor asked if I wanted it removed. I replied yes and he handed me a form stating I cant even touch you unless you sign this, which I did and the next thing I know, my insurance carrier is billed $175 for SURGERY. Which they maintain is how eyelash removal is defined when I called to discuss this - surgery - 30 seconds with a pair of tweezers - surgery.

I feel as if some of these lower reviews are a bit unfair, although everyone has different expectations. I worked down the street with an affiliate organization (ORA), though do not work there anymore, and was also a patient of Dr. Jason Chin. AEA doctors quality (ESPECIALLY Terry and Jason Chin) are second to none. They are not only interested in providing honest and thoughtful care to their patients, but are also extremely intelligent and effective communicators when it comes to conduction, design, and review of clinical trials. I cannot say better things about how much help they have provided me, both as a patient and as a study coordinator. Fantastic conversation partners, which goes a long was as a doctor. The sense of modesty and wisdom that they possess is very rare, and I was fortunate enough to work with Jason Chin several times. I agree with some reviews that the attitude of the front desk people isnt always 100%, but you dont go there to speak with a secretary, you go there to get a valuable ocular exam. If I served you a 5-Star Filet Mignon but it was delivered to the table by Nickelback, I bet youd still enjoy the meal. Plus the ladies next door at the optical shop are great, just head over there if the front desk at AEA is too much for ya ;) Nice work guys, truly a scientific-oriented care provider. Two thumbs up!

I will never step foot in this office again and I will tell my family, friends and acquaintances to do the same. The receptionist person just berated me in front of 2 other patients because she couldnt get a hold of me to verify my VSP insurance. When I first made the appointment I told whoever answered the phone TWICE that I no longer have VSP I have Humanna Vision plan. Apparently no one pays attention to what you tell them. When I went in for my appointment this receptionist stated she couldnt verify my VSP loudly, in front of the other patients waiting . I told her again, that I have Hummana and had the papers including member no and coverage with me. She loudly stated well I dont have the number and I doubt I can verify it with them now in a rude arrogant condescending tone. I have NEVER been spoken to like that and to be spoken to like that in front of other patients in a so called professional environment is disgusting. Ive been a Registered Nurse for 42 years and if I had EVER spoken to anyone like this person spoke to be I would be terminated. If shes that miserable dealing with people then she shouldnt be there.
