Has now left my 83 year old family member hanging for weeks as a lung cancer patient in what could be his final weeks. No follow up care from having pneumonia. It’s been literally killing him and how would this dude know?! My grandfather hasn’t been seen in weeks. Been told he’s been on weeks long vacations and provides no consistent or reliable care in his absence. Now he’s been hospitalized and where was Mares today after saying he’d be in to visit?? NOWHERE. Medical neglect at its finest. Time to draw up the paperwork. Unbelievable!

Dr. Mares (MD) and his physician assistant (Branden) are very caring and knowledgeable about respiratory conditions! I have asthma and I feel they are the best pulmonary specialists in the area. I also must mention Pete ... he is definitely the prescription guru! If a person has respiratory problems... Dr. Mares is the place to go! I give them an A+

I visited Dr. Mares last Fall, after experiencing shortness of breath when mowing during hot, humid weather. He diagnosed me (61-yrs-old) with asthma; & even though Id never been diagnosed with it, Dr. Mares said that Id probably had it my entire life. He didnt order a full work-up, but prescribed Symbicort & PROAIR HFA inhalers. They seemed to help some in extreme hot/cold weather. After a Winter & Spring of the supposed-COPD worsening, Dr. Mares finally ordered chest X-Rays & an echo-cardiogram - which indicated that I was in HEART FAILURE. He sent me to a St Vs cardiologist, who sent me to St. Vs Heart Center in Fishers, IN, where I spent almost two weeks, getting a triple heart bypass & the scare of my life. Dr. Mares wasted precious diagnostic & treatment time for my condition, which should be a criminal violation for any physician. This is apparently where specialized medicine has become counterproductive; when the patient relies on a doctor with a great reputation, who will not look beyond his specialty to order needed tests, which may send the patient to a doctor who COULD provide the needed care.I am recovering as well as expected, but there was early talk among the surgical team about a heart transplant, as well as an LVAD implant device. Asthma should NEVER be the diagnosis for HEART FAILURE. Patient beware...
