I want to start by saying I’m so thankful for this program! If it wasn’t for Devine Hospice my sweet grandmother, Carol Walls wouldn’t have been in the comfort of her own home in her last days. Everyone from there has such sweet and humble spirits. They constantly keep faith and prayers for our family. Thanks to them I got to stay home and spend the last two months with her. Durning that time I got closer with God not only from the help from my grandmother but from the team also. This time I got with her was something I definitely needed before I lost her. If it wasn’t for Devine I wouldn’t have been able to have that time with her. In for that I’m so thankful. Even after she passed they continued to be there for our family. They’re all absolutely outstanding!

Doctor Kumar and his staff are now a part of our family. They provided care for our precious Mother, who suffered from Alzheimers. Our initial meeting, Doctor Kumar came to our house and spent three hours getting to know our family and better yet he had us tell him about Moms life. Everyone of his staff is awesome. Nurse Brandy was so awesome and cared for Mom as if she were her own family. Ray our CNA bathed Mom and took special care with her. One day Nurse Candice and Ray helped me get Mom in the car for me to take Mom out for coffee. We will never be able to express our love and gratitude to Divine Hospice. Doctor Kumar made housecalls and they were all there any time we needed them. Doctor Kumar grieved Moms passing and said he had also lost a family member, our Mom. They are by far the BEST. May God richly bless them and the incredible work they provide when people need them most.

Love is stronger than death, even though it cant stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it cant separate people from love. Death cannot take away our memories. Watching life disappear from a loved one is the hardest thing a person can endure. However, Dr. Kumar and the Divine Hospice Team makes that journey as easy as possible. My name is Maghan Evans Churchill and I was a part-time Caregiver for my grandmother, Carol Walls. At the end of her journey on earth, our family enlisted the help of Divine Hospice. Often times in life you have regrets about decisions that you make and wonder if it was the right decision for that moment. Not once did our family question if bringing in Divine Hospice was a regret. Dr. Kumar took the time to listen to every family members concerns, find our important life details about my Grandmother, and made multiple house-calls during her last few weeks. Dr. Kumar radiates the love of Christ in every moment of his life. Being the leader of Divine Hospice is his ministry and one that he does well.I am so thankful for the care of the Divine Hospice Team and their continued friendship. You see, Alzheimers tries to rob families of memories they have of their loved one, but Dr. Kumars team was a constant reminder that my precious Grandmother was still with us, could hear us, and loved us deeply.No-one ever wants to experience loss, but with this team loss is a tad easier. Even in the days after my Grandmother took her last breath, Dr. Kumar and his team continued to be there for our family and showed up to the funeral service honoring the life of someone who impacted this world in such a positive way.Even though death tries, it cant separate people from love. In the end, life is stronger than death. Dr. Kumar and the Divine Hospice Team ensure that life is stronger and love speaks the loudest. To this team, thank you for loving our family, for listening to our concerns and tears, and going above the call of duty for my Grandmother. You will forever hold special parts of our hearts.Sincerely,Maghan Evans Churchill

I have known Dr. Kumar for 7 years . He along with other Hospice groups have been involved at our facility for years . Throughout the years I have witnessed the care that our Divine Hospice residents have received and Dr. Kumar goes above and beyond and is very Personal with his patients . So when me and my siblings had to make a choice to allow Hospice to assist us with our precious Mama’s care. There was no question that we would choose Divine and Dr. Kumar and his staff. These folks have become our family and we could never thank them enough for loving our precious Mother . We will forever be thankful for their love and support .

In my last 50+ years of active adult life I never saw a doctor come to home. It was heartwarming to see a doctor come to my home and take care of our loved one. The compassion that their team has I have not seen in recent times. God bless.

I wish I had more stars to give to Divine. Earlier the word hospice never gave me a a feeling of comfort to me for my mother. The entire staff of Divine provided that comfort to my mother and me. They are personal, they cried with me and held my mothers hand and comforted her & me. My mothers journey to the good lord was made comfortable, and I just cannot emphasize how much the word comfort meant to my mother & me. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for holding my hand and walking with me in this journey. Their doctor is just another synonym for a person who has a comforting heart & hand. He took my mothers hand in his hand and sat at her bedside and prayed for her. God bless them and provide them courage to continue their ministry.

Our entire family is so incredibly grateful for the care Dr. Kumar and his staff gave my father during his battle with pancreatic and duodenum cancer. Dad was very reluctant to accept hospice care, but we all knew it was in his best (and my moms best) interests. Dr. Kumar came out to the house, in the midst of a pandemic, and reassured dad that he was there to serve him. How many doctors make house visits these days? How many doctors take the time to get to know the personal details of their patients and actually care like that? Brandy, Candace, and Ashley also gave such loving and gentle care to dad in his final days. Dad was only in their care for 10 days, but Dr. Kumar and his staff provided dignity and respect in every step. The final blessing was when Dr. Kumar attended dads funeral. He didnt have to take the time from his busy schedule (in the heat of August) to attend a graveside service, but he graciously did. Thank you, Dr. Kumar and your wonderful staff for comforting all of us as you did. I believe you are servants of our heavenly Father. Our prayers go with you.

My name is Sandra Evans and I am the Activity Director at Condor Health Anderson /Ellenburg Nursing Center!!! I have been working with Dr.Kumar and his Divine Hospice Team for over 7 years!! I really wasn’t sure how I felt about any Hospice ,at the time we began offering this as a Service in our Facility!!! However,as I began to spend time with Dr.Kumar and his Divine Hospice Team ,,,and I saw the “Special Things” they done for their Patients and the love and wonderful care they gave each and everyone of them, and their Families,,,My mind began to change!!!One time he found out that a certain Resident loved Pizza,,He not only bought her the pizza she loved,,He sat down and ate with her and had conversation with her!!!!That melted this Activity Director’s heart!! Another Resident was at the end of life and he had been a Cook and all he wanted to do was spend time with his Family and be able to cook one more time!!! Dr.Kumar bought everything needed to cook for Hamburgers and Hot Dogs!!! He allowed this Resident to invite all his Family to this Cookout and the Resident was the one who used the grill to cook his Families Supper!! Him and Dr Kumar cooked together side by side!!! What a Beautiful Memory this gave this Gentleman and his Family!!!What he gave these Residents was a “Priceless Gift”!!!The biggest thing that has touched my heart is every Funeral of my Residents that I have been to that was a Resident of Divine Hospice’s Funerals,,,,There sits Dr.Kumar !!! Never have I been to a Funeral when someone’s Doctor has been at their Funeral??? That touched my heart ,as well!!!Another day, Dr.Kumar and his Team bought KFC for all his Residents that was able to eat and they ate with these Residents and spent time with each one!!! What a Gift of Time they gave each of these Residents!!!Move on down 7 years later and instead of a Co-Worker & Activity Director,,,I was a Daughter with a Mother who had Alzheimer’s Disease who was in a decline and we were in need of help!!Dr.Kumar came to our house and spent 3 hours with my siblings and my Mother!!! He wanted to get to know her as a person!! Looked at all her pictures, spoke with her, assessed her needs along with our needs & addressed our concerns and questions!!! He took his time with my Family and we signed with Divine Hospice that night!!! Let me tell you right now,Dr.Kumar is a Doctor like none other I have ever met in my Life!!! You aren’t just a number to him,you are a person with a Story and he cares about your story!!! If I picked up the phone right now,,I can promise you,he would answer me!! What Doctor does this???None of them but him!!! I promise you ,you will never be disappointed that you chose Divine Hospice in your time time of need!! This is the most Special of Groups I have had the pleasure to be around ,especially with our Mother, Jeanette Carol Crook Walls!!! And Yes,,,,He was at my Mother’s Funeral and cried along with us!!!When I called him the next morning after my Mama’s passing he said “I’m so sorry about your Mama,I lost a Family Member too last night!” I said “Oh I am so sorry,Dr .Kumar what Family Member did you loose??? He simply said “Your Mother “!!!Wow & Wow!!! We will always be Family to this Special Team at Divine Hospice!!! When you try to give Dr.Kumar praise he always points upward and says “It’s The Good Lord, not Me”!!!! Hope this helps you decide with choosing Divine Hospice for your Families needs, cause my Mother’s passing was a beautiful thing with dignity!!! She was a beautiful Women and Dr.Kumar and his Divine Hospice Team provides us with the tools to help her with her pain and suffering!!! To God be the glory for great things He has done!!!

Dr Kumar & his staff are professional and compassionate. Their care of our mother was above & beyond the “normal” medical care we are forced to accept so many times in today’s society. They had our mother’s best interest & care at heart at all times. She was always treated attentively & with the utmost respect. Our family was able to experience peace & be confident that our mother was getting the best care. Truly Dr Kumar’s calling is also a ministry to his patients & their families.

Written by Janet Gilmore (my mother): My husband was hospitalized ten days, then came home by ambulance. The Divine Hospice team provided 91 days of excellent care before his passing. The transition was smooth with Dr. Kumar and the nurses coming to our home from Day one. All needed equipment, including hospital bed and wheelchair, were delivered to our home. Dr. Kumar and the nurses carefully monitored medications so my husband was never in any pain. Having the Hospice assistant three days a week to shave, bathe, and groom my husband was a real help. The nurses, social worker, chaplain, assistants, and Dr. Kumar went above and beyond, demonstrating love and concern with excellent care. The 24-hour service, seven days a week is real. I highly recommend Divine Hospice.

I couldnt resist to review about Divine hospice because I believe in my heart that this is at least my simple way of saying Thanks. I was very skeptical in choosing a hospice agency for my dad. I chose to get a word of mouth knowledge about hospices in the upstate, and thats when I came across Divine hospice. I had done my research on hospices and wanted an agency who could provide my dad a personal care and make this stage of his life comfortable. The entire Divine team provided my dad comfort. It started off with, when I called their office and to my surprise their doctor picks up the phone and said he wished he was the surgeon general of our country and changed the name hospice to comfort and promised me one thing and that he will take care of my dad as his own. I had to look no further. Their team of nurses, nurse aides, chaplins, social workers are amazing. It was very hard for me and my family to see our loved one decline but it was heartening to see how they provided comfort and personal care. The doctor indeed came multiple times to check on my dad and did exactly what he had promised. Their team went above and beyond on every occasion. The nurses had total understanding of comfort care. The nurse aides were never rushed. The Chaplins ministry was godly. They all walked hand in hand during this difficult journey for our family. Thank you Divine team!
