Had my gallbladder removed, never spoke to surgeon after. Had a bright red allergy band on because I cant have codeine. Only pain meds they were wanting to give me had codeine in it. Luckily I was coherent enough to hear them and stopped them before it was too late. Was asked to calm down bc I was crying because I was in so much pain. Was rushed out so quickly that I HAD TO HAVE MY IV REMOVED IN MY CAR. All of the monitors were still on me when I got home. Was never given wound care instructions. Was prescribed meds I cant even take, even after making sure he knew that beforehand. Called to speak to him and the lady was so rude it was insane. Unbelievably belittling and zero patient care. Telling me that I did speak to him after my surgery I just wasnt coherent. (EXCUSE ME?!) Umm. No. All the recovery nurses couldnt get a hold of him. Never spoke to him. Nobody contacted my husband to even let him know I was out of surgery or how it went. I was informed that I would be able to care for my 5 month old right after, no night deal. So incredibly wrong. I cant pick her up or bend down to get her. So glad that my husband had to take 4 unpaid days off to make sure she was cared for. Will never step foot in a st vincent ever again. Biggest joke of a hospital ever.

Hernia operation 1990 left side. Did right side 4.18.2019. Excellent surgeon and staff. Class A in work and patient care.
