Very poor office staff communication. I made an appointment to see Dr Holtkamp three weeks out. When making the appointment I mentioned that I had seen a dermatologist about the cyst on my thumb that I was going to see her about. There was no request made that I have the records from that visit sent to Dr Holtkamp. On the day prior to my appointment I got a call canceling my appointment because they had not received the dermatologist records. That was the first contact that I got letting me know that Dr Holtkamp wanted those medical records. I was given no explanation for why I was not told that she wanted the records and no option to have the records faxed to her and keep the appointment. I felt that the staff had no concerns about my well-being and took no responsibility for their failure to let me know that the Dr wanted the records. I will be going elsewhere.

Dr Holtkamp is an excellent surgeon. She fixed my hand and did a great job.

Dr Holtkamp has been very attentive and focused on my recovery. She has been prompt and diligent with my post op visits. Surgery was successful and recovery continues to be monitored.

Fantastic appointment that met my needs in every way - Dr. Holtkamp is very caring, and very gentle!

OrthoIllinois is a great group with a nice, new facility and fantastic orthopedic therapists. Unfortunately, the quality of care offered by their physicians is very inconsistent. Dr. Daniels was absolutely phenomenal with a dual hip replacement for one of my family members, but Dr. Holtkamp was extremely disappointing in the quality of care, or lack thereof, that she provided to me in regards to severe hand and arm pain related to carpal tunnel. She rushed through every visit, not taking the time to thoroughly explain her treatment plan, and her bedside manner left a lot to be desired. She pushed me off to occupational therapy, who in one visit helped me better understand my symptoms and determine a root cause than Dr. Holtkamp ever did. And don’t expect any pain relief from Dr. Holtkamp as she refused to prescribe any medications to help manage my pain or improve my sleep. Bottom line, if you’re truly looking for a physician who will treat you with care and make you feel as though they have the genuine desire to improve your health, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Actually, this doctor get NO STARS! She barely examined my husbands hand. Made an assumption from prior records instead of looking with fresh eyes and drawing her own conclusion and was rude and condescending. Definitely would not recommend this woman.

Amazing doctor!! Great sense of humor. Handle my 80 year old father perfectly, (yes he can be difficult). Speaks to patients with an easy going, easy to understand, manner. With some doctors, you get the feeling that the doctor talks down to you, not with Dr. Holtkamp.I wish more doctors are like Dr Holtkamp.

I saw Dr. Holtkamp in April 2020 after I did something crazy to my hand on the last day of February 2020. I had punched through two wooden boards during 2nd-degree black belt testing for tae kwon do and really hurt my hand! It got less sore after a couple of days, so I though maybe I hadnt broken anything, but then it started to look a little misshapen, and I felt like I had to crack my knuckles all the time. Dr. Holtkamp ordered x-rays, and after looking at them, she said nothing was broken but that I had sublexated my sagittal band, which explains why I felt the constant need to crack my knuckles---much less my funky-looking hand. Dr. Holtkamp presented two options: Try a splint and OT to move the sublexated band for four weeks and then maybe go in for surgery if it doesnt work or just go in and have the surgery. I felt no pressure from her to do either. When I asked her what the chances were that the splint and OT would work, she said less than 50 percent. When I asked her if I went straight to surgery, if she could fix it, she said, yes, absolutely. I went with the surgery. Four days later, Dr. Holtkamp operated on my hand. Three months of occupational therapy with the fantastic Rebekah McMillen at OrthoIllinois followed, and today, Dr. Holtkamp freed me from her care and from OT. My hand is no longer sublexated, and I no longer feel the need to crack it all the time. So Dr. Holtkamp did exactly what she said she would! Was the surgery kinda painful, and did the recovery take a while? Yep! But it was so worth it, and Dr. Holtkamp is friendly and an excellent surgeon. Her staff is also fantastic. She and her team will take great care of you!

I went to see Dr. Holtkamp as a second opinion after seeing 2 other physicians. I had fractured my right wrist. I was so stressed that I would never have full use of my dominant right hand. The first Dr I went to put me in a cast for 6 weeks while the bone was growing wrong. When I met Dr Holtkamp, she was very understanding and very knowledgeable. She knew exactly what to do to re-fix my wrist. We scheduled the surgery and everything went great. My wrist and my hand are 100%. I can’t thank her enough and I would recommend her to everyone. I wish I had seen her first and not wasted 6 weeks of summer and all the pain and stress I had gone through. She is definitely the best.
