Great service with a variety of effective services/options, along with friendly staff

The best massage I have had in forever. I fell asleep withing minutes. Today was my bday, and they gave me a card with chocolate and a mini balloon. The staff was very friendly and very attentive.

Excellent atmosphere and just a calming positivity through out.

I had an awesome spa experience with my facial and massage. Having been coming here since they first opened, the service has been consistent and.relaxing. my first experience was with my knee replacement. The massage therapy helped me with mobility and pain. I highly recommend this place!

TERRIBLE! If you plan on keeping your membership for life then this is the place for you seeing and the would not cancel my membership. I have gone and called to cancel my membership three times because I continue to get charged after my originally cancellation. Each time I went in the assured me that my account was cancelled but got charged $70 the next month again. I eventually had to block all payments coming from them through my bank. Do better!! This is so frustrating

Wow!! 5-Star service! I called to schedule an appointment and I was able to speak to the front office specialist Amalie. I could tell he was new because instantly the level of customer service and training that he displayed I was truly amazed. I’m excited to come into the spa just from the phone conversation I had with Amalie. I had to leave a review to mention this amazing experience I had scheduling this appointment. I called 5 spas prior to try To get an appointment and they were all mean and rude.

This was my first facial. i didnt appreciate trying to be upsold things Id never heard of. The way it was going I would have spent close to $250 for wha was supposed to be a $69 facial. After I said I only wanted the normal facial everything was god.

I try to schedule appointments here over the phone and they consistently just do not answer the phone. Absolutely ridiculous.

I got an excellent hot stone massage today and I felt amazing when I got up off the table! It is a beautiful facility with a great staff. I highly recommend Tiffany.

I came to this location due to me wanting a massage for the longest. I scheduled an appointment and was assigned to Patrick as my massage therapist. I was overly pleased and satisfied with my massage! Literally one of the best massages I’ve ever had. He took his time and the hot stones made the experience 10x better! I will definitely be back and will request his services again, without a doubt!

Good but scheduling (website) is a challenge. Website is not local to this site so probably should not hold that against them. Massages are constantly good, with some exceptional very good.

Ive been a member of Hand & Stone for years and the massages have allowed me to manage my chronic lower back pain while feeling totally pampered. Various upgrades are available, like hot stone massages on a cold winter day. There are also several options for facials, depending on age and skin type. Luckily, my health insurance provider recognizes the benefits of therapeutic massage and covers part of the cost.

It was my first facial with Negin, she is amazing and more knowledgeable, I recommend her to everyone that needs amazing facial, thanks Negin my skin looks wonderful!

Second time there for facials and thoroughly pleased both times. Very comfortable and nice atmosphere.

Much better service on previous visits. Person giving massage just wouldnt apply much pressure even after being asked. Additionally, the stones werent warm. Was the worst experience ever at this facility. Will insist on someone else. Very disappointed in that visit.

First I must say excellent massage done by Lena I will be back to visit just for her. Front desk experience was underwhelming. Rachael checked me in whom was friendly but did not provide me with the experience I know hand and stone offers. Sarah checked me out and pitched me to join the membership which I did but not due to her great pitch. She wasn’t the most enthusiastic about the membership and seemed unsure of herself. At the end she half thanked me for joining in which I didn’t feel very welcomed. Lena is the sole reason why I will be back.

Completely dissatisfied with this location. I have came to this location a few times. I booked a massage yesterday via telephone with a male employee stating my massage appointment was confirmed for today at 12:30 pm with Rena, I arrived to my appointment today to be told the appointment was never booked. This was completely unprofessional as I booked the massage for a special occasion today and under the March Madness special which will not be honored for a future appointment. Completely disappointed in the poor customer service and lack of professionalism of booking an appointment.

If you want your life changed..... Go see Lena! I officially have her on a 2 week rotation. It is soooo worth the investment! I have been living life with bad posture and knee pain and thought it was normal as I got older. She called out my problem areas before I even got on the table, specifically in my lower back and right knee! Like literally, she said stand right there..... And she called out what was going on with my joints! It was like..... Some sort of magic! ..... And lets not even talk about the actual WORK she did on my body! Lord! She focused right on the areas I needed and I literally became one with the table. My life is forever changed and now I can sleep, walk, and stand like normal. I have had a subscription with hand and stone and have been to different spas around the country, when I travel for work. Never have I EVER experienced something like this, especially at a chain! Just book her and tell her Tamara sent ya! Haha ;-)Seriously... If you are trying to decide on a therapist, just choose her. I promise you wont regret it!

I am very disappointed today on my appointment was 3:15pm and I showed up at 3pm I waited for 30 mins coz Nicole was still with costumer. The front desk keep checking on her every 5 mins but after waiting for 35 mins i walk out because I have another appointment that I have to go to. They never emailed or called to apologize.

Management is not professional, they live in their offices all day and never help out their front desk staff. Terrible and not professional

These people are a hot mess. Poor management, no training of their front desk staff, and no customer education about which massage would work best for their needs. DO NOT GO HERE if you want a good massage and customer service experience.**EDIT: As you can see, they responded to me below. I contacted them a day or two later, and all they did was say sorry for your experience... no offer to come back, no offer of free x with your next massage, nothing. This just proves again how awful they are with customer service if theyre not even attempting to retain their customers.**

The facility is very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly. Im still trying to find the right massage therapist there (each one has been good, but not great). Definitely better than Massage Envy

I was reading reviews on google and thought this place seemed amazing. I called to set an appointment but first I wanted to ask if they had any appointments available for the following day (Saturday), it was last minute and I know Saturdays might be very busy for them but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask anyways. The young lady that answered the phone said in a very rude tone that they did not have appointments for Saturday. I had called other massage parlors before and they always started with “unfortunately we do not have an appointment available for that day but we can check for blah blah....” with very nice tones. But not this one, as the lady immediately said “no we do not!” Almost in a condescending tone like she couldn’t believe that I was asking for a Saturday appointment. First impression threw me off. Won’t be calling again.

I visited hand and stone today, my friend and I book two appointments for the same time. My friend didn’t end up going through with the appointment after discussing the treatment options. When I finished and was ready to check out. The receptionist quoted me the wrong Amount and wanted me to pay the amount of $260 instead of what I was told earlier for $150 and ignoring the fact I was told a different total before i started the treatment. Once they finally checked and agreed that the total was what I had been told before when I made the appointment, one of the receptionist states that I had to also pay for my friend. Keep in mind that my friend didn’t get any service done. I was basically being forced to pay. I declined and stated that I would only pay the service provided to me. They then took me a payment and did not provide a receipt until I had to ask them for one! Bc I needed to make sure they didn’t charge an amount that I did not agree to pay. Two hours after I had already left the place, I get a notification from my bank showing a transaction from them for the extra amount that they wanted me to pay for my friend. I was not there present and I gusss they they kept my credit info from earliest transaction . They committed fraud by processing a transaction that I did not authorized and was not to present for. Pls be aware that the receptionist are not professional at all made the whole experience terrible!

I sent my boyfriend here for his birthday! His massage therapist, Tiffany was amazing. He talked about what an excellent job she did.

Having some serious back issues, massages were strongly recommended by a previous physical therapist. While last minute scheduling can be a challenge, everyone is courteous and the massage therapists have been great. The club is easy to join and use, and I like how I can use an extra package, if I have them, to add upgrades for an extra treat. The only thing I disliked was that the massage therapist I had been seeing left (I had had to skip a few months due to work craziness) and no notice was sent to her regulars.

The ambiance, the cleanliness, the customer service. Front desk- welcoming, funny and professional of course. The massage therapist....in my mind...we are married. They (massage therapist) demonstrated professionalism and did an excellent job in assessing and listening to what I needed. I would recommend him to anyone who had a stressful week or just want to pamper themselves. I went to the Alexandria center but I wish there was one closer in my area that was comparable. This place is a MUST!! The entire staff was nice and Im sure they would deliver the same top notch service and professionalism. Moreover, I cant wait to try their additional products and services!!

Receptionist werent very welcoming and seemed bothered that they had to help me instead of watch videos. The masseur Im sure is great but I had asked for her to focus on certain area of my body and she did not. I went there to relieve stress and relax. I didnt find that here. I hope your experience is far better than mine. I forgot to mention that afterwards they tried to get me to join their membership. I said Id think about and they started to pressure me. Was not a fan

I was recently at the Kingstowne, VA location due to the closest location to me in Gaithersburg, MD still being closed. The Kingstowne location is near my job. I had a full body massage and head rub with Rebecca. I was thinking it may not be great because she is smaller. Well, well, well. It is the following Monday and I am still somewhat sore. I asked her to not hold back. She was very nice and awesome!! She knew without me telling her what parts were issues. I have two herniated disks L4, and L5. She knew which side to hit most. I did not tell her. She would ask if she was too rough or not and if she needed to adjust. I really wanted to sleep after. The place was very inviting, everyone was nice. Great calming music. A great experience. I will more than likely go to this location again. and I will ask for Rebecca again.

I moved this past weekend and was so tight and stiff I went in for a massage this afternoon and Sophie was amazing! I already feel better and Im going back Friday. The Ladies are so nice, welcoming, professional and great at their craft! You wont be disappointed.

Ive been a member of Hand & Stone at Kingstown, Alexandria for over six months. Great location, relaxing ambiance and friendly staff. My massage therapist Katelyn is wonderful! I tried several massage places/therapists in several countries, but she is one of the best, I highly recommend getting a massage from her.

I started going there when it first opened. Management at beginning and new management now are awesome. Management there in-between (female manager said she was from NJ was nice to me-but awful to staff- high turn over with her there). I have always loved the staff, from reception to the talented individuals providing the services. Im happy to be a returning client!

Im grateful for Wallaces quiet strength combined with a passion for how the human body, mind, and spirit are rejuvenated, and relaxed through the power of touch. During the past 10 months due to the pandemic, Hand and Stone has done nothing to reach out to their members regarding how they are protecting their clientele, options regarding membership fees. Im left paying a monthly fee for a service I either could not use, or dont feel comfortable using because Hand and Stone has not informed us as clients regarding the precautions they are / are not taking. So disappointed.

I had Dierdra for a 60 min massage session, and she was INCREDIBLE. She knew just what to do to unlock my right shoulder, and she was able to loosen up my lower back and relieve some sciatic nerve pain. She has a very therapeutic touch, ranging from medium to deep pressure. Go see her!!! The staff are amazingly sweet, understanding, and helpful. The manager Daniel is awesome, and so are the front desk staff that helped me throughout my experience like Peter and another sweet girl who made my appointment (sorry I don’t remember your name!). This is the place to go if you need to relax or recharge. They will take such good care of you.

Two of my favorite people are no longer at this location, the person who replaced both are just as good. The massage was great. Not too much talking besides asking me about pressure and what areas did I like her to focus on. Great massage overall! I will be getting a membership

I absolutely love coming here. The staff has always been friendly, and the massages amazing.During my first visit I decided to also get a relaxing scalp massage. It was outstanding. Since then I have been back half a dozen times and always left relaxed.

Deidre has amazing hands. I splurged for the 80 minute massage and boy will I splurge every time now. Deidre found all the right spots and had wonderfully strong hands. She asked me about pressure at each new point to make sure I was comfortable and decreased and increased as needed. I left looking a massage mess, happy, relaxed and already booked for next month. Worth the splurge on myself. Thank you so much Deidre!

The facility was nice enough and clean however they were 15 minutes late in getting me seen. There was also a woman in the waiting playing some video on her phone extremely loud, I know this is not their fault but I expected someone to politely ask her to turn it off because it’s supposed to be a relaxing environment. My massage therapist was very nice and I thought we were on the same page going into the massage however I had to ask him twice to apply more pressure which was still not enough and then he grunted through the entire massage. It was very distracting and not relaxing at all. I also expected my time to be extended since we started late, however it was not.

I joined Hand and Stone 2 years ago and love it! All the massage therapists are great, offering different specialties for each service selected. I recently started seeing Heather who not only gives a fantastic massage, but is also very knowledgeable about the human body! She was able to put hands on me and knew immediately where my stress points were, released out my knots, and even gave me some recommendations on how to reduce my stress and knots which are usually returned by the time I go back to see her. I will continue going to see her as shes a highly sought after massage therapist who provides an awesome service! I fully recommend getting a massage from heather, shes top notch!

My massage experience was absolutely wonderful at Hand & Stone! The staff was friendly, I was given a warm welcome, the establishment is very clean. I am someone who suffers from a hereditary form of arthritis and when I left Hand & Stone, I no longer felt the pain in my lower back and hips. My therapist was Wallace and he was very professional and he explained the process to me as well as listened to what I needed for comfort whether it was regarding to the temperature in the room to what areas of my body I needed him to focus on. I was very pleased I must say. I am definitely planning to make a monthly visit for my hour massage and I hope to get to a point where I can be there weekly. Hand & Stone has become my newly found happy place, just for me any chance I can get a break. Massages are wonderful!!! Miss. D.H.

Very, very happy with this spa. I was new to the NCR and was happily surprised to find a place so conveniently located to my home. The staff are wonderful and you really get the impression that they want to be there. It is refreshing. I cannot speak to the facials as Im a massage client but I cant imagine they would be any less great than what Ive been receiving. Happy to have Hand and Stone as part of my life.

Went in for a hot stone massage and it was AMAZING. Came out of there with a membership and a great experience. I’m so sorry I can’t remember the name of my massage therapist but she was lovely and was great at providing exactly what I asked for.

Do not recommend Hand and Stone - they won’t get my business again. Went in for 80 minute sports stretching massage, received a basic massage with one 20 second stretch in it. It’s all a gimmick. They also took 15 minutes just to check me out because I had a gift card and originally booked me with someone who didn’t actually do sports starching massages, which bumped me back a week. Waste of time and money and have no idea why this place is highly rated on Google.

Very disappointed in this establishment. When I arrived, I check-in, however I waited 20 minutes. It wasnt until I asked the receptionist about my appointment, that he realized he never checked me in. The esthetician was not very attentive and was not knowledgeable about facials or the products they provided. When I checked in, I added the foot massage, however I was never provided this service as the esthetician coldly responded that I should have ordered it before the appointment - which I did. What was supposed to be a relaxing and rejuvenating experience turned out to be very disappointing and frustrating. As this was my first visit with this establishment, I will not be returning to any Hand and Stone Massage.

I absolutely LOVE this spa! I regularly see Rebekah, Katelyn or Lisa. Their lifestyle membership extremely flexible and theres no long commitment.

5-STAR with what is offered, setting and services provided. Its not a full service spa with separate waiting area and relaxation room; but for what H&S represents and offers to the busy professional or person is fabulous. Courteous staff, clean, professional and the most amazing service personnel. I have visited many spas at high-end resorts around the country and this is far one of the best facials and massage I have received. Highly recommend....and if you are unsure about joining...ask about the starter package and pay for 3 months. And the membership price is worth it...Ive been wanted to have a monthly massage, facial or treatment for years, but could never justify the price. And my over-all body & soul is worth it

They treat you great as long as you’re a paying customer. I was a member for a while, but work got busy so I canceled my membership instead of paying for something I wasn’t using. They charged my account an extra membership fee after the final fee, and it is taking forever to see the refund back in my account, when I was told 2-3 days and that the refund might even be in my account the same day I called. It’s been over a week and when I call they tell me they can’t do anything since they don’t have the clearance. I WAS going to rejoin once I had time to go again, but not after this.

Friendly staff and great providers. Looking forward to to the next few years! Taylor, was great over the phone answering questions and during intake. My provider, Heather was amazing and even gave me some great tips on some stretches that would help me after. Next appointment is already set!

Overall I am happy with this location. Friendly reception area staff. Always happy to assist with booking the next appointment. Wish some of my favorite massage therapists would have better (evening) hours.

Went to Hand & Stone on a girlfriend recommendation and I must say....It was amazing. The spa is very clean and Taylor who checked me in was courtesy and knowledgable and answered all my questions before I went back to receive my massage. Wallace, my massage therapist was to die for! He was extremely professional, skilled and engaging. Im scheduled to go back in October.

Deep work but not flattened to the table, relaxing enough to fall asleep, stretching - coaxing the muscles to release from their painful position. The reception staff is friendly , helpful very pleasant experience to be had.

I have been going to see Heather for almost a year now, and she is just amazing. Massage is more medical necessity than spa treatment for me, and Heather can intuit where my pain lives and the underlying cause, and works from session to session to relieve the pain. As long as shes still practicing, I have no reason to ever leave!
