I got my hair done by Shanika, in a flattwist mohawk style on natural hair. She did a wonderful job!! Shes very professional and worked efficiently on my 4c hair. I will definitely be coming back to Angels Salon to see her!

I manage my own shaved head but my random early morning search and experience of service for my sons hair started with the pleasant voice and professional help from Iye(Aiee) (hope correct spelling).From scheduling, time of arrival 1hr later, to finishing (undoing braids, washing, detangling, and redoing Box braids was done with %100 satisfaction.The Angel Salon atmosphere of many professionals is a good choice to consider.

Iye is the best! Hands down! My 5 year old hates getting her hair done. She cries hysterically. I have never been able to get her ends clipped because she acts a fool. I took her to Iye for the first time 2 weeks ago and back 2 weeks later. Ends were clipped today! She is fast and superrrrr patient. Her assistant is awesome too. I highly recommend!

I scheduled an appointment a week before using their website. Received the email notification confirming the booking, the stylist and the time and whenever I got there to check in, they said that they didn’t have me down in their books despite the email notification. So whenever I showed them the email, they told me to come back in a few hours? They are very unorganized and lack basic customer service skills. I was extremely excited to check out this salon but y’all need to do better and be a little more organized and attentive. First impressions are everything and the way they maneuvered around this situation was unacceptable. This also happened to my friend the same day as well!

If this was my first visit to this location, I would give 1 star. However, I had been going regularly to get my hair braided with no issues until recently. I dont want to ignore the great appointments I had previously, so Im giving 2 stars only because Im unable to give 2.5.Approximately two weeks ago I scheduled an appointment with Iye on a Friday afternoon. I sent a picture from Pinterest with the braided style I wanted (as I usually did). When I arrived, she was behind, but that was fine. Im pretty easy going as long as my schedule allows me to wait.The appointment was going fine until I got in the chair after getting a wash. I gave her my braiding hair and proceeded to answer emails and look at social media on my phone like I usually do. I had been to her enough times to trust that she was going to give me the style that I requested or something even better. The style I wanted was similar to a style she had done for me before so I had no worries. I even mentioned to her that I would need to schedule 2 more appointments for some upcoming events in hopes of us getting those on the books before I left.As I sat there, I realized something was off. It seemed like she was rushing with my braids. She was struggling with the pre-stretched hair and was pulling my head in the process. That wasnt normal. Then she verbally stated Im trying to leave early today twice to her colleagues. At that point, I was concerned. It didnt seem to be an emergency that was requiring her to leave early. It seemed she had other plans. I began to wonder why she booked me at that time in the first place if she had other plans or needed to get out early.At that point, I looked up and got a glimpse of my finished hairstyle. I was not happy at all. The braids were crooked, the parts werent done properly, and the size of my two braids didnt match. Normally at the end of my appointments she would wrap me and put me under the dryer to ensure everything was good to go. This time, she took off my cape and said, youll need to wrap your hair when you leave followed by just text me the other appointments you need.I sat there stunned because I was unhappy with the finished product and I was being rushed out. Although I wasnt happy, I still paid and tipped knowing that I wouldnt be back. I went home, took the photos below, then made an appointment with another salon for the next day.I was more upset by the experience I had than the wasted money. Im a very loyal customer if I feel good about the services Im receiving. Honestly, I wouldve preferred for her to either tell me she didnt have the time to do the style I wanted or reschedule me for another time.I want to reiterate that I had great appointments with her prior to this. She actually did a thorough job every other time. This may have been a one-off situation, but I cant risk that happening again. My time is just as important as my money and I need to have a stylist that will work to deliver a great style every time.If you decide to go to this stylist, just confirm that your preferred style can be accommodated during the appointment time thats given.

My hair stylist is Vel Green and she’s amazing! The salon has taken steps to protect people from COVID. Everything is sanitized and masks are worn. I first went to her in June and explained I’m transitioning from relaxed hair and going natural. I see her every two weeks and my hair is growing. She does all types of hair, natural, color, etc! I highly recommend Vel!

Everyone here is friendly and inviting so I absolutely love the atmosphere. Thank you to Fred for always giving me that fresh cut!

This salon is by far one of the best Ive been to! Im active duty and have been to salons all over the world. I just moved here from Germany and called, last minute, to have my 14 year old daughters natural hair washed and pressed. The stylist knew exactly which products to use and gave me several useful tips on maintenance. My daughter has been unhappy with her hair, until now! I will definitely return. Also, this location offers male hair cuts, so I will start taking my son there.Im one of the hardest customers to please and will write a negative, but honest, review in a heartbeat. After all, I am a consumer who doesnt like to waste money. Theres honestly nothing negative to say about this salon. I will gladly continue to spend my money here!

I see Iye Bayoh at Angels Salon LLC. She is talented and efficient. I have seen her work with adults and children. I have also seen her work with many different styles. She is great at multi tasking and time management without cutting corners. I have a tight schedule and she respects that. She has always seen me either right on schedule or ahead of schedule. I wear my hair in natural styles and she gives me great hair treatment and advice. She is very polite and helpful. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for great service.

Im new to the area and like others have stated, this area is very limited when it comes to the selection of African American salons. Until now, other salons that I have come across specialized in hair braiding or extensions only. Neither were of any interest to me; my hair is relaxed. I was in need of a hair stylist that would maintain my hair and keep it healthy. I finally found my ANGEL!!! My appointment was with the owner, Cindi and she is FABULOUS!!!! Its no doubt that Cindi is a giant in this business and it shows! The salon is set up to accommodate it all! One side of the salon has stations for barbers, and the other side of the salon has stations for the stylist. The decor is electric, and the salon has a fun family-friendly atmosphere. The friendly staff members make you feel like you matter and I appreciate how they valued my time. Cindi has a solid rotation, and her assistant gives you a wash that feels AMAZING! I stepped out of Cindis chair looking FABULOUS and feeling CONFIDENT!!! For the last two years I have been flying back and forth to my stylist back in Texas to get my hair done, but now that I have found Cindi thats a thing of the past! I highly recommend Angels Salon to anyone in the DMV area that is searching for a great stylist and make sure you ask for Cindi.

What a great hair salon! I went there yesterday to get coloring/cut, I have never had any color in my hair or been to a salon in a very long time, I usually just go to the barber and keep it moving. Vel was so patient and informative from the beginning to end. She made sure I understood the process and was completely sure about the color (using pictures and pallets) before we began, she explained terminology which was all new to me, I will definitely be coming back. The barbers are also very professional. I had Suge, he takes his craft very seriously, he is an artist! I love my new hair cut and color and got so many compliments everywhere I went yesterday.

This is the best place in Alexandria to get a haircut, the atmosphere here is next to none. When you arrive you are greeted with everyone saying hello to you. Keith has been cutting my hair for upwards of 15 years and he never skips a beat. Highly recommended.-Rob

Giving two stars instead of one because the shop is nice and Vel was pleasant. However, Vel does not specialize in natural African American hair. Was very disappointed with the cut and feel of hair when I got home.

I took the girl I nanny here to have her hair combed out because it had some big nasty knots in it. Ashley and Drew did such a fab job at combing my girls hair out and making it look beautiful. They both were so sweet and worked with what I wanted. The atmosphere Was so chill and everyone, employees and customers, were so friendly and welcoming. I wish there were more places like this!! Definitely will be coming back here again!!

The style looked great, but had horrible heat damage after the appointment- which is extra upsetting because Id been a natural for 4 years and now have to start over. If you have natural hair, definitely wouldnt recommend coming here for a press.

Fred did a hair cut on my 2 1/2 year old son, he was friendly and fast and had my son laughing and smiling the whole time. Great service!

Quick and to the Point! Iye, my stylist, was extremely nice. She genuinely cared about getting to know me. I’m a new client and have a country accent that she noticed. Iye was attentive and knowledgeable! I’ll be returning!

I asked for a trim and received a cut. She told me my ends were not bad but somehow my hair ended up being a lot shorter and looked choppy. I had to go home and fix it. Which is what I should have done in the first place. Lesson learned.

He told me to hold on and said talk to her and while handing the phone over said “here, she has too many questions.”Wow really. Ive tried to give this chance after chance. I be been patronizing this establishment for years first as a client of their barbers and rarely getting my hair done by stylists. Today, I called ahead to see if there was any availability to get my hair braided. They said I could come in so I did, and sat down immediately. They lady got right to work, and was finished within maybe twenty minutes. Essentially, I got what I asked for, but the middle part I asked for was not straight, and she didnt apply any bands to the ends of my braids so that they wouldnt immediately unravel when I slept for went about my day. Im really over this place now. Its a shame because they are one of the only black salons in the area. But I dont feel they care enough about their clients to warrant me ever spending another dime here. Btw: I didnt realize until after leaving the place that there were no bands.

I was taken aback by an employee walking up to me and my daughter-in-law as we waited for my son (her husband) to get his face shaped up, this ghetto looking lady asked if we were there to be serviced and then she had the audacity to say that kids could not be in the shop. I thought this was really unproffesional, rude and just down right ignorant to say the very least. I could say more. This place is not some high class hair salon, but apparently they think that they are. I have never knowm of any salon in the city of Alexandria that I know of that goes around and and acts predjudice against kids or others that they think dont look like them. I felt disrespected and I am sure my daughter-in-law did too. This is not acceptable behavior for any business to be practicing. Angels Salon should be ashamed of themselves and to carry such a name...its more like the DEVILS SALON.... I would never suggest this bussiness to anyone who does not have a love for children or folks they deem that does not look like them. What kind of place is this???? Get over yourselves please! The only way I could post this was to give this place one star....Trust me when I say Angels Salon is not even worthy of that.

Please - do not go to this shop - Can I give no stars - Oh how I wish I could - I am in the process of redoing my hair as I type this hours later after the nightmare! OH MY GOSH - this was a horrible, horrible, horrible hair style. Im chalking the lost money up to my not putting the time in to do the research to find a more trained and talented beautician. This a no a BIG NOOOOOOO. No customer service its like a throw back in time.They do not know how to cut natural hair. The stylist wanted to blowdry my hair out to cut which I am against. I have had haircuts cut on dry curls wet curls. Then I went to a barber and my hair is more uneven then when I came. He didnt line me up in the back to keep my cut feminine but thought it ok to cut & line my sideburns. Yea I will not return to this salon/barbershop.

Im dissapointed with the service at this salon. Today was my first time at the salon and online and the door both say it opens at 9am. I arrive shortly after 9 only to see they are not open. I sit until about 9:30 until one of workers Kiah finally arrive. She greets me and later introduces herself and gets my name. Im thinking yes, off to a great start. So more and more clients start to show up and they are in and out. Mind you, I was here before the employees. Eventually, the owner is guess arrives and she has Kiah start blow drying my hair, the hair dryer goes out. So the owner came over to finish. She sits me under the dryer again. Once that was over, she had Kiah start flatirioning my hair -she burns me every time she hits my scalp, shes sneezing and sniffling all over and is obviously sick. She stops in the middle and starts someone elses hair. Then another young lady comes over to finish and shes doing my hair like shes doesnt know what shes doing, not moving with any urgency, watching Martin -looking more at the tv then my hair. Ive now been here for 3 hours and have had 3 different people working on my hair. I want to just get up and leave and pay for what was done and be on my way. After waiting for the young lady to finish flat ironing she then tells me to wait for the owner to finish. Now Im having heat applied to my hair twice and having to sit Again to have it flat ironed. She came through with the finishing touches, but my overall experience was not great. So from 9:30-12:45 was how long it took for me to completely get my hair done.
