I had an appointment today at 11, I called yesterday to book. When I arrived I was told that the lady that does the style I wanted was not in and that the other lady that does was busy and wouldnt available till 1 and to come back then. I didnt even bother to go come back.

Over the past few years their customer service has greatly declined. They do not honor appointments, they are not courteous. I will never recommend this salon and I refuse to return. I have found other more reliable stylists.

I didnt get exactly what I wanted. I wanted bigger braids but got smaller but I still loved them! I got knotless braids in 3 hours!!!!!! The fastest Ive ever got braids done.

I had a great experience at Akwaba Hair Braiding. Ive been coming here on and off for the past 3 or 4 years now and I am always pleased with the end result of my hair. The ladies are very accommodating of my need for a gentle touch since I am quite tender headed. They also provide hand sanitizer and maintain wearing their masks which made me feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend going here!

The shop was very clean and the stylists very friendly . I will be going back frequently.

I had made an appointment on Tuesday for Friday to get my hair French braided walked into the salon they told me they were booked and couldnt do my hair. I was like I had an appointment they said come back in 1 hour. So I left. So irritated and I will never come back here.

If you are looking for a braiding salon that wont pullout your edges, your head wont hurt when theyre done and is reasonably priced. Try this salon.

The #1 most important FACT about this shop is that they braid your hair without trying to rip your hair out. Your hair will be beautiful without the need to take Tylenol after to lay down!! Best salon for braids, my favorite is Kinky twist. The ladies are really nice and take their time doing the braids. Giving you the best quality of styling ever. Ive had my hair braided in Kinky twist six times in the past three years.

My 8yo got her box braids done here. We got exactly what we asked for based on the picture we showed them. My daughter is tender headed (at least for me), and she didnt complain at all. The price is a bit high, but they have the hair and everything, even purple like my daughter wanted. I would go in person to get your price quote and appointment because there can be a language barrier on the phone.

Truly a hidden gem. I went in as a walk in and they took me immediately. I got 2 French braids. She was very careful with my hair and took her time. Very nice ladies. Ill definitely be back.

Great!!! My appointment was at 9am and I was out by 3pm. Christine did my Senegalese and I love them. In this salon the ladies are all about getting you in and out. There was not a lot a breaks and talking going. Christine only stopped to get more braiding hair and used the restroom twice. You will be very happy with the salon and your hair style!!!

They were friendly, fast and professional. I got in and out in a great time and they actually cared about what they were doing to my hair. I am very pleased. It looks great and they were extremely nice. I will be going back to get my hair braided from them forever and ever.

I do not recommend this salon. They charge 220 for medium sized box braids. There are other places that will do medium size box braids for a lower price and better quality. Unfortunately I wasnt aware how much I was scammed until I met other hairbraiders. To overcharge customers will make the business decline. Sadly I will not be coming back. Lesson learned.

I have been going to them for almost 2 years now. Its a nice clean and friendly environment. The hair professionals take time to listen to your style request. They are quick and neat with their work. Great experience every time!

I have mixed feelings about this place. The service was not so great but my hair came out amazing. I got box braids in a bob and the price they told me on the phone was not the same price they told me when I walked in. They also tried to jack up the price when they saw how much hair I had and how thick it was. They also tried to convince me to dipped my ends when I clearly stated over again that I wanted them burnt. But despite all of this I loved the way my hair came out and they lasted for a while. So if you can deal mediocre service but bomb results then go for it.

I would not recommend this place at all. Their prices are extremely high. I paid $200 for box braids and was very particular about the size and length. They did one braids and showed it to me and it was perfect! However at the end they did not show me my hair. When I was home. I realized the braids in the front were much larger than the braids in the back & the braid shown. The braids are uneven. I also asked for BOX braids. The parts are not even or box shaped, the braids are actually going in specific directions so I’m unable to wear my braids in the correct style. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. you will pay for a style you do not want and leave very unsatisfied!!!!

Just like most African Hair Braiding Salon... They talk and giggle alot to each other when braiding, you always have to make sure you are very detailed in your request (because of language barrier).

Never again ! I went here because my normal hair dresser was out of town. I wanted twist triangle parts. Something cute simple easy.My twist are all different sizes they look so terrible I really want to take them out but they will not be in for long . I wanted them kind of big but my twist are ugly ! I never experienced such poor quality of braids ! Not to mention my edges looked so ruff I had to ask for it to be fixed .

Definitely somewhere I will continue going. They are experienced braiders who not only braid your hair beautifully, but give you insight about hair care. My hair has grown so much since Ive been with this salon. Id highly recommend!

The salon is clean and very welcoming. The ladies are very friendly and they did an amazing job. I have gotten so many compliments on my braid updo. I was very impressed and I will most definitely return.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! I’ve been twice and both times I was able to get in after two different braiders got sick and didn’t tell me until the last minute (one of them I paid a deposit to so that’s very unprofessional). I’ve had the Senegalese twists that took 5.5 hours with only one person working on my head at a time (they were medium size) and I just had the fluffy twists done on Saturday and they took 4.5 hours with two people working most of the time (they are very small twists) The ladies are friendly and I like that they are open every day of the week. I will not be going to another salon.

This place does not do a good job. I’m from Atlanta. You literally can throw a rock and hit a hair braider. This is so disappointing. 2 cornrows with 2 feed-in braids on each side. Simple right? Nope. My hair is so sloppy.

I honestly wouldn’t recommend going here. first of all hairstyles are wayyy overpriced and i recently went here to get my hair braided, i showed the lady a picture of how i wanted it and it looked nothing like the picture 😡 never coming back here.👎🏽

Horrible horrible HORRIBLE!!! I dont even know where to start. The lady do my hair ripped through my hair with a blow dryer and she looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her not to and told her that my 4c hair can not be combed with a small tooth comb. She seriously cause damage and a quarter sized bald spot. Im so furious. On top of that while I was there a girl came in to get her hair braided and all the girls working there were making fun of her and saying how the previous braided did a horrible job. Just unprofessional. I should have known because everyone in there has terrible looking hair. Please save your money they will DAMAGE YOUR HAIR AND SCALP!

Miss quoted prices and mistreated children!!The old women didnt moisturize my sons hair for twist barely comb it or detangled his hair and complained of him not keeping still *because it was dry and it hurt being pulled* when the co-worker/owner/only person that spoke clear english came by for 7 hot min to hug and share gossip.. told the old women what to do... she was almost finished!!.. we got there at 1030 am the old lady started braid root 2 strand DRY twist at 1130 & didnt finish til 230 (6y.o. girl got cornrow pony tails from 12 til 5) took so long bc she talked and did other heads in between!!! they speak mostly to each other in french and werent friendly, kind nor welcoming. I urge you not to waste your time or $$$ money here as it seems like they only like folks with passports...

THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT PROFESSIONALSI went here a week ago to start the process of dreading my hair, they royally messed up my (very healthy) hair of 2 years.1) there were two women working on my hair, one didnt know what she was doing. She back combed HUGE sections of my hair that are now having to be fixed by actual professionals.2) they could not even separate my hair correctly, there are parts of hair that cross from dread to dread. The dreads are not evenly spaced or sized.Please do your research and do not make the same mistake of assuming that people know what they are doing.Like I said I am having to have a professional fix what I payed for at this rinky dink shop.

My hair wasnt done perfectly as I expected some of the hair is sticking out on the front of my head am not satisfied with the way they do my hair at this place and I wont recommend it to anyone.

*Poor Attitude - i went in to get Senegalese twists and the lady doing my hair complained bitterly in French throughout the time she did my hair. When I asked what the problem was, she told me that the twists hurt her hand and proceeded to sigh and feel sorry for herself throughout the time she stood doing my hair thus ruining the whole braiding experience. As a customer I am paying $180 to get my hair done. I do not want to hear about how my paying for a service is hurting your hands. If you, a service provider, cannot handle the job get into a different line of profession. The lady also left my hair at one point to go and eat food while her co-workers who had been braiding long before she had started continued at work. Although my hair was okay I will never go back to this place after my experience.

Horrible experience and way over priced. There was only one person doing my hair I was in there from 9am to 4pm, I was very upset that I was told one price when I started and end up paying more! Customer service is the worst, the lady complained in their language about how long my hair was braided and instead of telling the lady who did my hair to cut it or fix it she waited until the girl finished to over charge me. I will go to do my hair in dc. The young lady that did my hair did a good job though.

I have been here twice. Both times have been a success. I have really thick hair so it has always taken at least 5 hours. I thought the stylist were nice and worked together. I even had 4 to 5 people working my head one day. My two complaints are that I have extremely coily/tangly thick hair and both times the blow drying experience to stretch my coils has been miserable. Also I have lost a few braids, that they have placed back in for me. I dont want to say that was due to them that the braids slipped out, but it could have been due to my coily hair and the length. I have have had the 2 strand twist and the medium box braids done. I may go back soon, because while the braids do add a lot of stress on my hair back to back braiding, it did help my scalp breath and stimulate growth. Also, there was not a long wait to be seen, having a toddler, work, and a life; I can truly appreciate this! Oh as far as price, my friends told me that I overpaid :(, but I guess at least they looked good. :)

The best part the stylists were focucussed and not chatting away on their cell phones.

I had set up an appointment for goddess braids three days prior to my appointment. When I arrived, greeted everyone one waited patiently. Even someone and who I had came before me, they started braiding her hair. 20-30 mins passed by and I asked one of the hair braiders when I would be next, she replied the wait was 2-3 hours. Mind you, I had set up an appointment and I came from an area more than an hour away smh.
