Karina at the front desk, helped me over the phone last week to utilize my new insurance for a cleaning appointment I had scheduled a while back. Was very thankful for her diligence.Felicia did a wonderful job of making me feel comfortable and informed while cleaning my teeth. Quick and thorough.I am looking forward to meeting my new dentist, Dr Lance, next month.Ive been going to this location for a very long time now and with all the new faces I was nervous, but feel like they have a good team, with dedicated caring people.

Community Dental has very nice staff and they did their best to make me comfortable. Dr. Mason is very skilled and will explain what he is doing and answer your questions. The X-Ray tech Kelly is excellent! And all the reception staff is very knowledgeable and bilingual. The facilities are old, but the staff does a great job of keeping their place clean and tidy and they’re getting a new addition this summer.

Dr. Lantz and his staff are absolutely wonderful people! Very professional in every way! They handled my situation with great care! Would highly recommend Community Dental!

Yesterday I had a tooth pulled and 4 fillings. It was done quickly and with a minimal amount of pain. I found everyone very pleasant and friendly. Actually enjoyed being there which is strange to say about a dental office. Today I dont have any pain at all. I was given a light weight rx for pain and antibiotics. Today I havent had to use any of the pain meds. I look forward to continued care from this office.

They try to save you money, as dental insurance seems only cover catastrophic problems. The price is right, and they treat you well. I just had to finally go full dentures. Much better than Perfect Smile or businesses like them. The go by income, and take Medicaid.

All of my concerns were met, I left with a much better fit for the new dentures. Friendly staff. My ride was late and they were able to fit me in. Awesome people!

I dont have dental insurance and qualified for their income-based discount program. Unfortunately, root canals and crowns are not discounted through that program, so I had a tooth extracted. One of the dental assistants was extremely helpful and reassuring when explaining my options to me. All-in-all, I appreciate that they have some sort of discounted services, as I need to make a repeat visit for some fillings (which are covered). Very friendly staff all around. Thank you Community Dental!!

My experience was fine, until the manager first spoke with me in May. She was confrontational and accusative towards me about me bringing my proof of income, which I gave a copy to clerk on my first visit, Jan 5, 2021, towards ultimately getting dentures.I was in that office 3-4 times a month through April.Nobody seems to have caught their mistake. I mean, that clerk sure entered all my ins. Info real quick.And told me my co pay went down, according to my income!Went an appt in Jun because the teeth were starting to fall out of dentures.The dentist aid came to my room and informed me that manager told them not to do any work on my dentures (that were not yet fitted and teeth were falling out.) I took that as a threat as well. With good reason looking back.Well I just went in to fix tooth. Do not want to speak with the argumentative manager Jen because I did not have notes to her incorrect billing. So I just left rather than engage her in her argument again.Basically the clerk who took my proof of income, drivers license and ins. Information, entered my insurance info real quick, but neglected to do whatever they do to see what amt. of assistanceI qualified for, and manager just argued abs accused of being a liar and “it’s my fault” the clerk I dealt w in Jan. Didn’t do her job!Now Jen sent me bills w no explanation what they are for. She is exaggerating all amounts on bills, calling me a liar, then accusing me of yelling and cursing all over that office! So she’s also lying about me. I’d never go into a business and tell and scream curse words all over the place!As far as I’m concerned, she could’ve called me at any time to discuss bill, she could have pulled be aside while I waited for my appt. I just wanted that tooth fixed….I wasn’t prepared to discuss bill at that moment.So she illegally charged me and accused me of being a liar and “abusive” she ended any of the work that was needed on these dentures, conveniently after I didn’t wait around for her to discuss bill with me.If I was so “rotten” to the employees there, why wouldn’t she have brought it up sooner? I hadn’t hadan appt for nearly a month. If I was such a mean person, why was nothing ever brought to my attention before.So BEWARE if you HAVE to go there for your dental work. There’s a rogue manager named Jen that will allow you low income people to get screwed by the person making the bills that refer to nothing specific.Make sure they considered your income for assistance in their system or this manager that obviously does not check those things over on a regular basis obviously.

Horrible! They quoted me a price over the phone for a crown. When I got to my appointment they quoted me a way different and higher price.

Community dental has had problems in the past. They have new staff that will help you any way they can. Dr Masons is great with fast quality work. He will do more than one Procedure at a time if you wish. Him and his staff Care about their patience. Its like going to see friends while getting some dental work done .

The only good parts of my experience was the short waiting period and the customer service of the desk attendants.Going in for the initial consult, I expressed my extreme anxiety of having dental care, to Dr. Lantz, from negative past experience. He seemed genuinely sympathetic to my concerns, at the time.I was told I would need one extraction, and two crowns, (The crowns were to cost 1200.00 each, my insurance would not cover, I agreed to pay out of pocket) and four fillings, by Dr. Lantz, I was not excited, but agreed to start with a teeth cleaning, and move on to the fillings, and then the crowns, ending with the extraction.The teeth cleanings were done by two different dental technicians at two separate times, a month apart. First left side then right, the cleanings were not consistent with one another.After two months from my initial visit, I went in for the suggested fillings. The left side of my teeth were done by Dr. Lantz, on a Tuesday.I woke up the next day and my mouth was in pain, I could not chew. I called New Mexico Community Dental (NMCD) and was told the dentist was not in and I would have to wait until Monday to meet with the dentist. I called on Monday and the dentist would not be able to see me until Wednesday. I was prescribed a narcotic to relieve the pain. When I went in on Wednesday Dr. Lantz checked my teeth and told me that sometimes people need longer times for the mouth to adjust to new fillings, which are a foreign object that has been introduced onto the mouth. Dr. Lantz also told me a story of his own father doing eight fillings in his mouth, and it took six (6) months to heal, or get better. I was not encouraged. I scheduled another appointment for two weeks later to check on the fillings and pain again.After two weeks of pain I went back to NMCD, an met with Dr. Lantz again. He checked my teeth and took more x-rays and assured my my teeth were okay, no cracks uneven surfaces and the fillings looked good. I told him my mouth still hurt. He suggested giving it a little bit more time and made another appointment for a week later.When I returned to NMCD I told Dr. Lantz my mouth still hurt and could not chew properly. He assured me he did the right job and that these things just happen sometimes, people are different.I told him I was going to get another opinion and he immediately became cold, and defensive said that was my prerogative.I made an appointment at Comfort Dental on Lomas and met with Dr. Jeremy. Dr. Jeremy immediately recognized that the surface of all the fillings that were put in by Dr. Lantz were too high and uneven, caused me pain whenever I chewed anything on my left side. Dr. Jeremy fixed the issue; after a month and a half of pain. I felt a difference instantaneously after the remedy. NO PAIN!I went back to Dr. Jeremy at comfort dental and he did the fillings on my right side mouth. He was very empathetic and took great care to put me at ease while he worked on my teeth. The job was done correctly with no residual discomfort or pain, at all! Dr. Jeremy called me three days later to check on my fillings and I told him they were great.I have since gotten my teeth properly cleaned again and will continue to go back to Comfort dental for all my dental needs. BTW, my crowns are going to cost me 750.00 each!I would not recommend New Mexico Community Dental for anything, They are scammers and unprofessional!

Hey everybody listen up New Mexico Community Dental is a very good place to go dr. Mason is just great and all of his helpers everybody has been very kind to me and supportive and understanding and I appreciate that so much most people do not like to go to the dentist at all for any reason but myself I enjoy it down there I really like the people good place to go😬😆😅😄😃😂😋. Dr. Manson is very fast and very good at what he does it doesnt take very long at all 💥🍒🍒🍒🗽

While the dental care i received was far more than adequate, actually exceptional watch out be careful with their billing practicies, before you agree to any treatment be sure you are preapproved by your dental insurance company and that all paper work,is in order with the insurance company before you agree to any procedure or youll get hit with very exspensive and unexspected billing.

If I could give this horrible place a zero I would, they were horrible, extremely rude and unprofessional. Their prices have gone up since last year, its not really that affordable anymore, there are much better places to go, with better dentists, and cheaper, a dental school would be much better than this place, dont go, go anywhere else! Make sure before you go to find out how much money the appointment is and write it down, I got one price on the phone and a higher price when I walked in, the whole place is just shady! RESPONDING to their lies: Dont make excuses, Pat Brown is the name I use when writing reviews, so owners like you cant retaliate. It was this year, I even asked for the owner so I could voice my concerns directly to the owner. Some snotty woman refused to give out the owners name. Why if you have nothing to hide??? there is no reason for anyone to go to this horrible place. If anyone reading this is even thinking of going here, save yourself some real heartache. They had co pays that they claimed the state demanded, all lies. I went to Dr Dental on Juan Tabo, took my state insurance, and I didnt have to pay a dime out of pocket. I went to this facility today to have a broken tooth looked at. Dr. Mason saw me and he was able to do a full exam with xrays and was able to perform a filling. I have seen him at Valor Dental as well on Coors. This place out-shined that facility 100-1. The front staff were very welcoming. They were nice and friendly. The facility was really clean and i hear that they are in the work for remodeling as well with all new equipment. I have already recommended a couple friends to go to this facility for any dental work they need completed.I called this facility at 430pm on 03/10/2020 and they were able to have me an appointment at 930am the following morning. That is great service.

Dr. Lance & his assistant took care of my problem. Was very professional and made sure I didnt feel any pain.

I was treated well, given thorough treatment, staff is very kind. The front staff are very polite, professional, approachable and helpful. The ladies performing the cleanings were exceptional, answering every question, asking how I was feeling not just once but continuously. They took extra time to make sure I felt well and pain free and went to great lengths to make sure my repeated questions were answered. I felt well cared for! I had numerous cavities filled, tartar removed, fluoride, and wow what a gentle flossing, and they are helping me with my receding gum issues. My teeth feel clean, and look much better. They took the time to help me understand factors that could be the reason for my gum issues and addressed even the alternative types of things Ive been trying like oil pulling and took time to instruct me. They even did an oral cancer screening. Waiting at the dentist is to be expected anywhere that is just the nature of it! Office was clean, waiting room and restroom all clean. I am very pleased, they even helped me afford it, hassle free and worth the wait. I thank goodness for Community Dental. I wish I had know about them sooner! Im actually looking forward to my next visit.

This is a great dental office. The whole front office staff was very friendly and they helped explain what the doctor wanted to do. The hygienist was excellent as well my teeth felt great. One thing was that their schedule fills up pretty fast so book soon if you need it!!

The staff is so incredibly kind. There isn’t a whole lot of privacy, but I am very happy with my treatment and the compassion shown by everyone there.

The price is really cheap! You can come here if you have a lot of free time and like waiting:)) i had an appointment at 8 am but they started doing for me at 10 am. They always do like that. You will have to wait at least 45 minutes:))

Dr Dunn was great. I have had a few root canals in my life and this was the least painful and least expensive one. My tooth was very bad and there was a chance the procedure would not be successful. I already had a crown on the tooth and he was able to drill through the crown and save that too! Well that was more than two years ago and it is fine so far. At half the price of most dentists, it was a great deal! Its not a fancy office, but I have been very satisfied!

It took forever to get an appointment. After months of waiting I finally got in just to get there and be informed, by a sign on the wall, that there is a mandatory 20.00 copay. This is a low income clinic. No one bothered to let me know that there would be a minimum 20.00 copay

The staffs were polite and kind, so was the dentist himself. When I got my tooth remove, it wasnt painful at all. He treated me gently and; he and the staff, gave me amazing and easy to understand information about taking care of the open wound in my gum.I did like this place; however, the waiting time was really lengthy. I got in as an emergency patient around 6:45a.m. and I eventually got chosen around 9a.m. That is a huge waiting time then expected, especially when Im dealing with God awful pain.Also, trying to get an appointment is a bit of a struggle too. I have another appointment soon but they keep pushing it further... like my appointment in September and now its in November. And that is for fillings so that my tooth doesnt decays badly like my previous one.

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!!!! Absolutely horrendous. It honestly needs to be closed down and/or reported to the Better Business Bureau. Avoid going here! There are other places in town that will give you cheap care that’s actually competent

Os nice to have a place to go when you dont have insurance and you can get payment plan it is great im gratefull, is not perfect some staff members are very nice and polite but some are not, I worked I a Dental and Medical comunity and free clinics in NC I always treated people with compassion and I was happy to help them so I know how is to work like that.

I was a patient at the 1231 Candelaria Community Dental Services office and received a letter it would no longer be open. Decided to call after waiting to receive a call from the 2116 Hinkle SE, Community Dental Services to reschedule November 8, 2016 cleaning appointment. I was told someone would call back to arrange an appointment which was a month ago. I never receive that call, plus I thought the receptionist was impatient and rude. Ive since decided to go with a dental plan and seek reliable dental care without having to wait five months between appointments. I understand they are probably under staff, underfunded and overwhelmed but rude and poor service is inexcusable.

They are always friendly and prices are pretty cheap they also have payment plans available

HOLY MOLY!!! I never thought I’d say this, cuz I basically greatly dislike having to go to the dentist...but wow! I had to have a tooth pulled a couple days ago...#5 to be exact....I have had absolutely NO pain or discomfort...during AND after the procedure!! Dr. Martin ROCKS!!!!! She is a wonderful, gentle spirit who made me feel extremely comfortable! As long as she remains my dentist, I will have no qualms about going to get my teeth fixed! Maximus Mossman is a very aggressive, disrespectful dentist at this dental clinic. Had a lot of issues with him and did not feel comfortable whatsoever. Avoid if you can 🙁

This place is the worst!!made me an appointment for extractions ,husband got the day off so he could take care of the kids,went to my appointment &was told they couldnt do it to go to a surgeon, but yet still made me an appointment and took my money after knowing they couldnt,dentist never told me he wasnt able too before making an appointment! Worst place ever!

So unorganized, they are constantly getting their schedules wrong, my mom seen them tell people they had a 10am appointment when the client would say they actually had a 9:30am appointment and had a appointment paper as proof, this also happened to my mother, they also dont keep track of who they already gave x-rays, they seriously were about to give my mother another x-ray when they had already previously performed 2 on her, she stopped them and said shed already had other x-rays and they had to go back and check. every time they make an appointment it literally takes months to happen, and by that time whatever you need to get done becomes infected and they cant do the work. my mom also said its really hard to understand what the dentist/hygienist is saying because it sounds like they have really hard to understand accents. theres just too many things wrong with this place.

Dr. Dunn is a very competent, caring, and experienced dentist. I prefer him to other high end dentists..and i do have great dental insurance..i could have gone anywhere..but i came back to Dunn for the main reason that he understands hardships, and people.Thank you Dr. Dunn for taking care of my abscessed molar and removing it. You took the time to explain to me health related issues caused by infections and gave options related to dental health decisions on much needed restoration and orthodonic work.I cant thank you enough for being reassuring and gentle..I have to admit I was terrified of this extraction because of high blood pressure issues..Merry Christmas to you and the entire CD staff..please keep the clinic open!!Dr. Dunn is now my official dentist~!

My husband was seen at this dentist and he had a very good experience. He had several bad experiences at other dentist offices all together. He had a bad experience at another office just weeks before hand. The prices are almost cut in half and the staff are great. It is not a top notch office but it is clean, safe, affordable and a friendly environment. He handled my husband with care and concern. He knew and understood how my husband felt about his prior experience just weeks before. We now have Good Health Insurance and are talking about going back to him if he accepts our dental plan. You would have to experience the great service for yourself. Yes the wait can be long for an appointment but they helped my husband. The wait is long because they are busy taking care of other peoples needs as well. I give them five thumbs up. Im sorry. I was offended by some of the post and I was not even seen there. Im sure the dentist and staff get paid less than other dentists do due to it being low cost for the community and funded by I dont know who..so they dont need people coming on here giving them a bad name. I feel bad because I dont remember dentists name and am not sure if it is the same one mentioned in other posts on here but he was great. He also recieved awards and was recognized but some news paper.. I just remember seeing the stuff on the wall and then came home and looked him up. I saw good things and nothing wrong. To the person who talked about getting a wisdom tooth pulled, can you update on the recovery of the tooth procedure? I have to get my wisdom tooth pulled as well and was feeling somewhat uneasy about it. The experience at the candelaria clinic was ok, but it is going to take 3 day they say to transfer my file to the oral surgeon. I have been in pain since sunday and dont think I will get anywhere until Monday (hopefully) we are coming up on the Thanksgiving holiday...I am thinking of going to a private practice to get relief faster. Yes, it may be cheaper this way but the pain is unbearable.

They set you with an appointment time and get you in hours later!
