My credit card was compromised and replaced. Because of this, the automatic payments for membership were not processed by the gym for many months. Late penalties were imposed and the situation was sent to an attorney for collections. I was never once contacted by the gym about the problem so I could have immediately made payment and updated the card in their system. I went to the gym and after a conversation with the person at the desk and manager, they thankfully removed the late fees and promised to send an email that day to the attorney and me saying it was resolved. Today (the next day) I got a phone message from the attorney still trying to collect the original amount with the fees. I talked to the manager and was assured that everything would be taken care of and that an email had been sent yesterday. I called the attorney and the original debt was still owed. They said they dont receive emails. I tried to call the gym and it was impossible to leave a message or talk to someone. So, I drove back to the gym again and talked to the manager for the third time. She said I should get a confirmation of payment from the lawyer in a day or so. I asked for a number to call her as the manager and she said there was none.The manager and desk person have been very polite and patient with my being increasingly upset at the whole situation. Many of the issues are beyond their responsibility. But, the problems definitely reflect poorly on the overall business and communications to members, other than one-on-one in the gym.I am not writing this to criticize the individual people at the gym at all. They have been very kind. I am writing this so that perhaps the owner can see some overall things that can be addressed, and so that other members can know what to expect if in the same situation. Perhaps they will find better ways to get through it.Did finally get an email from the manager showing the attorney closed the case. Thank you very much!

The staff are amazing and know their stuff. They have alot of different weights and machines that allow to get complete your fitness goals. The gym memberships are cheap and the other members are friendly and help each other out. The gym is very clean. Come get your fintness on.

Poorly managed. Check out all the complaints at BBB. My most recent experience. They forgot to cancel the bank withdrawals after I canceled my membership. Without checking their information or notifying me, they sent it to collections. Oops, yes there was a note that I canceled. But after weeks of back and forth because the manager was never there, they say they fixed it. NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY!

Then, I get a call saying my fees for last month have late charges on them?? I literally have not used any part of this gym for over 10 months. It is apparently impossible to get them to stop charging you!

I LOVE this gym, but I would have given it 3 stars for the following:You guys have GOT to man the front desk better. I have been standing here for 10 minutes waiting to tan, there is a line of 6 people waiting to just get in to work out, and not one person has been up the the front desk. Idk if you have less employees due to covid, I can completely understand that, but at 6 pm, when everyone is rushing the gym, you gotta get more people up front.The 5 stars is for my hopes that this will get fixed!

DO NOT listen to what they told you. Tried to cancel my membership for several time during I was over sea, all they told you is you have to come in in person to cancel it. Ask for the manager, they will give you the email but never reply, asked when she is going to be in, called then they told you unfortunately she is not here today. All they want is keep taking your money while you are not even able to come in.

Great staff that are polite and enthusiastic at helping and meeting the needs of their clientele. Physique Fitness is affordable, something I appreciate. There are an sssortment of weight training equipment and a large quantity of aerobic equipment as well. There studios for class training and they offer personal trainers (first time is free.)

Charged me for a membership I wasn’t using due to COVID. Last I knew my account was frozen and then all the sudden I was owing over $140 and not once anyone from the company communicated with me. Only reason I found I owe money was through the letter I received from collections! Won’t recommend this gym to anyone. If you see the other bad reviews on here and Facebook, other people are going through the same thing. This company is a scam.

I was charged for a membership I couldnt even use during the pandemic shutdown! After asking that my account be cancelled, it continued to accrue charges until it was sent to collections. I never received any warning or bill until my account was in collections. The company wont do anything to fix it except take my money. I will never use this service ever again.

Lots of space and equipment. Covid has pretty much ruined it though, all premium services are down so people who pay for the highest tier are literally throwing away $$$. Gym is now in a county listed extreme risk and doesnt allow more than 6 people at a time. This means anyone who lives outside of Albany can forget about going here anymore.

I STRONGLY recommend not giving this company access to your money. I continued to be charged for 3 months after my membership should’ve have been canceled. I called several times and each time was assured it would be taken care of. It’s been over another month now and I am still waiting for my refund. I enjoyed the gym and services while a member and only canceled due to temporary Covid related work changes. However, after experiencing the unethical and incompetent handling of what should be a simple, standard practice for them I will not be rejoining.

Terrific gym, just the right mix of folks working on various stages of fitness and athletic training without the carnival atmosphere of the YMCA or pretentiousness of certain other gyms in the Willamette Valley.Physiq has a very good staff, clean machines, (plentiful, too), tanning, and massage for the best price around. But definitely, its the courteous, attentive staff that takes them to the 5 star level

Its a great gym, but everyone and their dog goes there. If you have a regular day job you are constantly waiting to use equipment. When I was there I didnt find many classes that I could do either because most of them didnt work for someone on a day job. Not a bad gym though, everytime I was there it was clean, most employees were busy and all employees were friendly.

A year ago I gave this gym a 5 star review. I had always had wonderful experiences until I tried to freeze my accounts. I actually had to cancel my debit card so they would stop pulling money from my account. They pulled $120 3 times while my account was supposed to be frozen. I have an email confirming my membership and personal training were frozen. Over a week period I emailed and I called 8 times and was never able to speak to the one person I was told was the one who could help me. She was always with someone, in a meeting or not in the club right now. I never got called back either. I received an email saying my pt had not been cancelled as my previous email had stated and they just kept charging me. After not getting any help there I tried reaching out to the owner via Facebook and linkdn since I was done trying to call the Albany location, but have not heard back. I understand these are unprecedented times and everyone is doing their best but there is absolutely no reason the one person who is supposed to handle customer service cannot call you back and try and resolve the issue. In reading previous reviews it seems I am not the only person this has happened to. It seems during this time Physiq needs to dedicate more people to trying to resolve and manage these issues. I am out a significant amount of money now because of their bad management and lack of response to my issue.UPDATE: I tried so get someone to get back to me about my issue with no luck. What do you know though, as soon as I cancel my card and they arent getting their stolen money I received an email and a text from the two people I was requesting help from. These may just be automated notifications but still, pretty annoying.

I like how clean it always feels and there is always many people working that can help with whatever. I also love the smoothie bar, recovery room and movie theatre. What would make this place perfect would be 1. A sauna and 2. Making the kids care hours longer and allow for more than 1 1/2 hours for the kids in the kids club. Every other gym Ive been apart of allows for 2 hours... 1.5 isnt enough.

I have never experienced customer service as bad as I have at this gym. My husband and I started a month-to-month $10 each membership with my debit card on both accounts in January 2020. COVID happened and the gyms shut down in March 2020. I reached out to Physiq and froze my accounts, in my email I specified that the accounts should be frozen INDEFINITELY as we didn’t know when the gym would open back up. That email was confirmed and the accounts were frozen. 90 days later my card is charged $110!! $45 for each accounts maintenance fee plus $10 for each accounts monthly fee. I called and was told my accounts weren’t frozen indefinitely, that they were just frozen for 90 days. I was THEN told they cannot freeze longer than 90 days. I have emails to show this was not what I was originally told, I was never originally told that it would be frozen for only 90 days. Therefore I didn’t even have time to prepare to get the money taken out of my account. I called Physiq and was told that they would not reverse the charges and it basically wasn’t their problem that their employees were not on the same page and were not giving consistent information. I swallow it, and ask them to CLOSE MY ACCOUNTS as we hadn’t been to the gym since it closed and I have now been charged a lot of money for memberships that were supposed to be frozen. I was told my accounts were CLOSED. Another 90 days goes by and my account is charged $20. I called like “what the heck, these accounts were supposed to be closed back in July?” I was told to call back on a Monday to speak to a manager and everything would be taken care of. I was told my accounts were indeed supposed to be closed in July but were instead frozen again for 90 days. I called back on Monday asking to speak to the manager, letting the front desk person know I was told to give a call back today to speak to a manager. The person who answered the phone (Julia or Julie) REFUSED to let me speak to the manager, told me the managers don’t take calls, that she didn’t know when he would be in and that I simply couldn’t speak to any authority higher than her. It was at this point that I had my husband call. He called, got Julie/Julia to transfer the phone to what I believe may have been the manager or assistant manager, Mike. Mike also refused to give a corporate number or manager number. He refused to cancel our memberships over the phone. He provided my husband with an email to request membership cancellations. He provided an incorrect email not once, not twice but three times before finally providing an accurate email. I called again to see if my email had been received and my cancellations processed. I was told by Julia/Julie that it would take 3-4 DAYS to cancel our memberships via email. I then FINALLY took time off work and physically came in to cancel my memberships. Mike P then told me he had gotten my email and was working on cancelling, which is not what Julie/Julia had told me minutes before. My memberships are FINALLY cancelled. I have the worst taste in my mouth. I NEVER want to open a gym membership anywhere ever again. It was the worst business experience I’ve ever had. They stole over $130 from me, jerked me and my husband around, and down right lied to us multiple times. I still can’t get through to corporate, but I certainly won’t stop trying. I’m seeing that a lot of other people have had these issues and have filed similar complaints. During a time of COVID you would think a business would have better personal skills, would keep their employees on the SAME PAGE with the information they are giving out, but this business is just trying to take peoples money during a pandemic. Completely foul. This “business” should be ashamed of themselves and the entire staff needs a lesson on CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I love this place! Movie theatre room while exercising. The classes Ive attended have been amazing. Love the atmosphere in the class rooms. Salem has a hydromassage...Amazing.... Albanys is out of service, hopefully not for long. The people are super friendly. Their web site is interactive and very handy.

I tried canceling during the summer. Called numerous times. No one answered. I figured it was due to the pandemic. But called weekly. Finally months later I got ahold of someone. They told me to email someone. Now I guess I owe 10 bucks because of someother bs. And this place is a joke. I joined because of the 24hr availability. Well since this all started I havent been able to come work out. Got kids so I work out after work. At 2am. And they wont budge. So I wont be going back. Customer service is a joke.

With the size of the facility, there is always plenty of room. Choices of equipment options, as well as equipment being new and modern. Smoothie bar is a plus. Trainers are knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous.

I moved out or Albany 9 months ago. I went into the Albany location in March of 2018 and cancelled. Signed a paper and left. Fast forward to my HELL. Of them still taking my money every month, and calls to the store, to be told to email Amanda C. Do that. No response then call and get told to yet again email “nicely”. Evidently, the first nice one was so nice she didn’t respond. Now $200 later, I’m supposed to still be nice to get them to stop taking my dang money... done being nice.. my emails are off to the BBB.

Watch out for this place continuing to charge you after you cancel your membership. Its happened to myself and another family member 3 times between the two of us. I called to get this fixed and was argued with by the employee until I explained the date I canceled was over 30 days ago. During the the pandemic they continued to charge my account while being closed, I went to cancel the whole thing and they said ok but would not cancel for the next month for July; so what ever just the kind of customer service there going to provide especially during hard financial times and on top of that they still continue to charge me for day care that there not providing. Somehow I have a membership that charged me A total of 69.99 over 3 months. I called the manager to explain that I didn’t sign up for a membership and that I haven’t even been in there to use the membership. I called last Wednesday, told the manager was busy but he would have her call me back Thursday.. at the latest Friday. I said ok. I called back Monday with no call from the manager. I called back on Tuesday, told that she was busy and she would call me back soon.Finally got ahold of the manager on Wednesday. Amanda, the manager said there was nothing she could do and that I needed to see things from her view. She cancelled my membership and that is it. SoI will have to take this up with my bank. It’s funny because she said my signatures, address and billing were the same in each old account.. even though, I lived at a different place and haven’t had the same bank account. Everything could of been made easy with a simple refund from a membership that had never been used and was not even supposed to exist.

Truly I like that when I walk in, I’d say around 85% of the staff know my daughter & I by name. I love that I don’t feel that typical gym stare I’ve felt many other places. Enjoy seeing people working hard & even seeing younger teens starting great habits now, go parents! I don’t personally take part in any of the classes but have seen some awesome things in action. If I could suggest just one thing, 120 minutes of childcare per day instead of 90 minutes, but I also understand childcare & what it requires so I’m more than happy with the care provided for $10 a month! Very affordable & thankful for Physiq!

Was good until I needed to cancel my membership. I moved away from the area during covid season. I attempted to contact them via phone and website, with no response. After they reopened, I got a gal on the phone, got the runaround regarding having to cancel in person, then directed to email the manager., Mike Thalken. He is requiring me to wait another 30 days to cancel, which would in turn require me to pay the annual maintenance fee of $39.99. That seems to be punishing ME for THEIR lack of communication during a time of crisis. Hiding behind red tape to take advantage of the little guy. Now Im sure he is just doing his job, but cmon. Thats just not right. I guess this is the new American way.

Complete rip off!! Impossible to cancel during the shutdown, they only had an option to freeze account and not cancel but I was told that wasnt the case. This is false. When I went in to cancel (the very first day they were open) they didnt tell me that I was going to be charged a $60 annual fee even though Im CANCELING. They gave me no receipt or documentation or anything. Customer service refused to refund and was zero help. They didnt even show me or walk me through the cancelation form.

Over all I’m very happy with this gym. My only complaint is that there are not enough mirrors. The free weight area gets over crowded easily and while the turf has plenty of room, there are no mirrors to help you insure your form and movements are accurate.

I give this fitness place a 5 star rating, because I enjoy my workout time, there are different machines. My workout machine is the zero runner, it is great. Saves the ankles, knees and hips, total zero impact. For older individuals looking to run laps, they need to check this machine out. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly always smiling. Thanks for choosing Albany to open a fitness center.

Id like to give a 4.5.Staff is amazing, helpful, personable and always quick to answer my questions.The facility is nice and clean. Disinfectant spray and paper towels all around.The only issue I have is with the childcare hours. I wish instead of 4:30 pm childcare opened back up at 1:30/2:00 pm. Other than that, not a bad place to rid my body of some fat.

I will give you a real review from real experiences.Okay so here are the pros of this facility. Its clean and well maintained. Their equipment is new and up to date and their movie room, and rest room are awesome! Here are the consTheir memberships are expensive and you will be charged even if they arent open. There is no switching plans if things like losing your job made it hard to pay 30$ a month. If you cancel its 80$. Ive spoken to the manager and he is actually really nice and good at responding. However everyone at the front is full of arrogance and attitude. All their staff except one person is white. They all look and sound the same and have that aura of arrogance . All the girls are around 120 and blonde or brunette. Which isnt really good being that they all look the same and arent an accurate representation of the clientele. They love talking smack and worst of all they fat shame you. My friend is a bigger girl and was working out and she was wearing a sleeveless excersize shirt and they proceeded to tell her that her appearance was unacceptable and to change. Then the girls would laugh and say things to eachother under their breath. I just called to ask a question and the girl who answered the phone made sure to make me feel bad for the question I asked. She had a really becky sounding voice and attitude. I hate people who look down on others and I can assure you the staff here does. The only decent person is the manager and that sucks. OH and the dude with the dreads. Since I started going here hes the only person who was nice to us.

I was unable to work out after reinjuring my amputated leg in february i contacted an employee at the albany location and let him know. He stated that even tho it was the middle of February instead of waiting the 30 days to cancel he would cancel it then so i wouldnt be charged for March. I had only been a member January and then re injured my leg so had only went for just over a month. In march i was billed again which i wasnt even to worried about figured it was an error so tried to contact and called day after day got my calls transfered to a private number the mail box was full i sent dozens of contact requests thru the website and never was contacted. Then i was charged the anual fee of 50 dollars on top of another month after it was supposed to be cancelled the month before. at this point the gym had already been shut down due to covid and my account was supposed to be cancelled and i have still yet to been able to contact a person or leave a message or have messages returned. I have been patient and understanding due to the current health crisis but i know people are still available and i am not sure why nobody will contact me back to solve the issue.

This gym is awesome! It has all of the usual equipment you expect, plus some that perhaps you havent used before. The classes are amazing (I especially love the Cardio Dance so far!) and the staff is very friendly. Best of all its affordable. I appreciate that theres an app to keep track of workouts and when classes are too.

Best thing to happen to this town since Costco opened!EDIT: To explain further physiq offers a wide and unique range of equipment and the staff is excellent; very friendly with great customers service. Not to mention the amenities and the price one pays for them are in my opinion very reasonable. If I had to choose something that the gym could improve upon it would be that at present the spray bottles for wiping down equipment can be a tad scares at times, but that is really only a very minor nitpick.

Worst gym ever. The management is young, immature, and ever changing. Employees are to busy flirting with each other to actually do anything, and no one can ever answer a simple question. The tanning beds are gross. Cleaned haphazardly at best. They go through trainers like dogs go through treats. They overcharge, under-perform, don’t actually have a good training program, and will charge you for sessions you haven’t completed. Worst gym.... ever.

Hard to get a workout here with free weights. Not enough available and etiquette not enforced. People keep dumbells with them while they are using other equipment so they can switch back and forth at their leisure. Meanwhile countless others are waiting for them to get done and put them back on the rack. I usually give up and leave. How many people go here to lift weights and there is only 1 smith machine? Otherwise staff is very friendly and helpful. It would be nice if there was a staff member on the floor at all times to help with any questions. I need to cancel this membership and cant believe I cant get rid of it on phone or cancel it online. I also agree with other review about getting a tour. I asked for one and they looked at me like I was crazy. I was shocked it wasnt offered to me. They did a good job though once they did show me around.
