I strongly recommend this hair salon. Michelle did a fabulous job on my hair today! She knew exactly what I wanted, and the hair cut was just right on point.

Great environment. Friendly, clean, and relaxing. The cut was on point and exactly what I was looking for (Im very picky so this was amazing). I havent experienced some of their other services like color, etc... so I only gave 4 stars only because I cant speak for the entire salon and services offered. Overall a wonderful experience.

Everything about this place was awesome!! I made my appointment over the phone and they were so easy to talk to and so kind. My stylist Liza was incredible, she understood what I envisioned for my hair and was so fun to talk to. I will definitely be back :)

My daughter and I went for highlights and cuts. We both have really curly hair. Michelle was phenomenal! My daughter’s hair has never looked better. Also, Scott, the gentleman who made the appointments and greeted us was a delight! We will definitely be going back! Thank you Miche!!

There’s a reason this salon has so many 5 star reviews. I went in for highlights and Liza was crazy talented she managed to make my hair 4 shades lighter all while making it look competent natural. The highlights blended together perfectly and didn’t look even the slightest bit chunky. Thanks Liza! Highly recommend!

Can I just say how impressed I am by Townsend and Co? I have been hesitant about going to hair salons after having a very bad experience with one. However, after a few years I finally decided on Townsend.2 weeks ago I got my hair toned and cut and I am still obsessed with it! I absolutely adore the color. My stylist, Liza, was able to achieve exactly what I wanted. She was super friendly and listened to me. I will definitely be going back!! The interior is also lovely and calming.Thank you for the awesome experience!!

Overall I really enjoyed this place. Naturally this is the first haircut Ive had since the pandemic. In addition to everyone following the CDC guidelines and taking the necessary precautions to make everyone in the establishment feel safe, the haircut was great! LolEveryone was friendly in polite. I was able to have a great conversation with the person giving me my haircut. I was able to show them pictures of what I I wanted. They would also stop and confirm with me before taking specific steps. I really appreciate this, I highly recommend this place. I will be coming back here

Kevin is absoluty amazing. I have rather thick hair that can be difficult to style but he worked his magic and I absolutely love my haircut! I really appreciated how he walked through everything he was doing instead of just doing what he thought was best. Conversation was great as well!

I got a wash and cut from Kevin. I think he is a junior stylist and a very good one. He cut my hair at a perfect length and I have curly hair. He didnt try to get me to buy any products. He is very nice and helpful. My hair is in such a better shape and much healthier. I really needed to cut off about three inches of dead ends and he did it to a t. I will go back to him. And I would recommend him.

This was my first time using Townsend & Company. Michelle was incredible and I would recommend, for sure. The reasons? Shes professional, listened to what I wanted to achieve and the look I was going for (genuinely listened) and then she set to work and did a beautiful job; she took her time and it was apparent that she took pride in her craft. Not only did she help with this first visit, but discussed plans for how to achieve the long range goals with the style of my hair, i.e. growing the length while maintaining the layers. I also enjoyed the conversation we shared while she worked....all things art and creativity. Super nice experience. Thanks again, Michelle. See you again!Regarding the space. I personally love old Brownstones and thought the space was eclectic, tasteful and clean. The staff, reception upon arrival and when I left (two different employees) were friendly. If theres anything negative it would be the parking situation, but its downtown Albany so that goes without saying. I parked on Madison and found a parking spot on the street, not a block away, immediately; so....not a biggie at all. Happy I found this place.

Let me start off by saying Im 25M and had been getting my haircut with the same stylist (Susie) in my hometown Tucson, AZ from age 12-24. She was the only one Id let touch my hair and she always did an amazing job. I moved to Denver last year and got a few haircuts from barbers only to watch in horror as they butchered my hair. I was scarred and very hesitant to get my haircut with anyone but Susie ever again, even though I no longer lived in AZ. I moved to Albany 8 days ago and was in desperate need of a cleanup, so I called this place based on their prior reviews and got an appointment with Kevin. I showed him a picture of me with a fresh cut from Susie and my dude KILLED it. My hair looks great, just like Susie used to cut it, and more importantly I feel good about myself. This move was hard enough as it is and I feel like something finally went right for me. Im so happy I could cry, I needed a win. Also side note good conversation too, there was zero radio silence. Thank you Kevin, Id give you 10 stars if I could.

I love, love, love my haircut! Michelle is great! Perfect style. I wish Townsend would change the color of the walls though, teal is a difficult color. I really couldnt see how good I looked until I was back outside.

I wanted my hair like a white/platinum color. The stylist was able to only get it to a brass shade. (I started with a brownish blonde). A few days later, I went back, stating this wasnt the color I wanted. She put toner in my hair at no cost but stated she liked it the color it was (without the toner). It still wasnt the color of the pictures I showed her.Before I had anything done, I asked the stylist if my hair would be damaged. She said it would be okay and it wouldnt all fall out. My hair was very healthy before I got it dyed. I would only notice a couple strands a day lost. Within two weeks, clumps were falling out. Three years later, my hair has not made a recovery. My natural color is all back, but my hair is dry and brittle and knotted. It feels as it did just after I dyed it.All this cost $320. I did this before my wedding. I couldve achieved exactly what the stylist did with a box dye for $12. I thought this place would be okay since it was a real salon. Wrong! Never again!Im praying the Lord will heal my hair and I thank Him for forgiving me on my vain decision and my poor use of money.

The first time I went was three years ago. I went in looking like a trumpet in the sun with the mess I had made trying to use box dye to go beach blonde on dark brown hair. Finding this place was the best thing that could have happened to me, they scheduled me for the same day that I called and although the process to fix it was long and tedious I had never been more happy with my results at a hair salon. The service is amazing and so are the people who work there along with their skills. If what youre looking for is quality , hands down the best place go. A+ :)!

Ive been going to Townsend and Company for the last 3 years (for a mens haircut) and been very pleased with their service. They are pleasant on the phone when calling for an appointment and Ive never had to wait when I arrive. I plan to continue visiting them.

This was my first visit to Townsend. I was nervous to try someplace new, but my hairstylist left the area, I tried Jean Pauls but was never really happy.My appt was with Liza, and she was wonderful. Im so happy I went. I get cut and foils. She did a wonderful job. I will def go back.
