I’m so glad I came here. I’ve been in California for the past few years and didn’t know where to go to get color because it takes skill to do my hair because it’s so curly but they were amazing!!!! If you have any type 4 hair PLEASE do not go here!!!!I have type 4a and 4b hair and I went here a month ago. After I took my hair out from braids, it would not curl up. My curl pattern is RUINED. I did the big chop 4 years ago and I haven’t flat ironed it since. And the one time I decide to flat iron it, it gets damaged. They do not know how to handle type 4 hair. The 4 years I took to get my hair back to normal all went to waste. If i could give them zero stars, I would.

I got a wash and set last year. I got my hair done for my birthday and it was my first time using heat in 3 years. My hair was super straight and shiny. However, my curls were ruined. The heat damage was mainly on the front and sides of my hair. Dominicans have something against curly hair so I knew this might be an outcome. I ended up having to cut all of the damaged parts off and I’m rocking a layered cut now. It doesn’t look bad but I would’ve preferred if I had to cut my hair because I wanted to, not because they damaged my hair. I’m still growing my hair out a year later. Bring your own heat protectant!

Honestly Im giving this star for the lady who works with me, she was professional, caring and gentile with my hair. But I did call in advance for an appointment and also inquire about prices. I got there 5min before appointment and 40 min passed before they started washing my hair. What should be 1-1:30h. Turn out to be 3:30h. They are not true to the appointment and jump people in front of me just because they have short hair. And at the end the price that the owner gives me by phone was $35-40 for regular wash, well, she charged me $50 for a regular wash. Every one in there was very friendly. But the wait and the price isnt worth it. SORRY👎

Please avoid coming here if you have 4a, 4b, or 4c hair. They do not know how to care and treat coarse hair. My cousin can here 2 weeks ago to get a silk press. She hasn’t flat iron her hair in 3 years & the one time she decides to do something nice, it’s just ruined. Also I’m not sure what products they use but they’re terrible because once she decided to wash her hair, it left her hair smelling like nair and damaged.

This is the absolute worst hair salon in the country. My wife went here and had the worst experience ever. They took 6 hours when it should have been 3 max. My wife was two hours late to work and almost got fired. The lady doing her hair told her that she was being negative for asking a question, which is completely unacceptable. There were kids running around and disturbing customers. Again this is the most unprofessional business in Albany. To end it, my wife hated the style. This place deserves no stars and needs to be shut down.

Ambiance is very warm and cozy.. Jacqueline is the best owner/operator by far both to her clients and staffs. I will absolutely recommend acquaintances to go and see for themselves. More power and blessings Jacqueline on your business!

I go to this salon all the time and have never had a bad experience there. Today Jacqueline styled me and did an amazing job on my hair/dye job. I love her work!

I went to this place to get highlights and while the owner was nice the end result and waiting time were less than desirable. I waited 6 hours total due to understaffing. The highlights I got are not even and bright yellow (which I didn’t notice until I styled my hair). The highlights in the top of my hair are about an inch out from the root. Pricing was over $200 for a less than desirable job.

This is the best salon i have ever been, jackeline is Amazing. I am Dominican and I have virgins hair and she straight then very good. Thank you.

I have been going here on and off since about 2015-2016. I have 4 kids so I don’t come regular but whenever I need my hair treated right I go to Jacqueline’s.... she never lets me down my hair is always moisturized and healthy looking every time I leave... she has cut my ends because they were badly broken and it grew back healthier. She has put color and done my eyebrows (and now she is the only one who can touch my eyebrows because she slays them!) I would recommend her 100xs over

They made me wait hours before telling me that because I didn’t have an appointment I had to wait until she was finished with the people who did I was fine with that but she made me sit in her chair my hair wasn’t even done or braided I understand I was a walk in but she should’ve told me and I would’ve left and came back I got there at 4 and left at 7 with my hair still not done I did it myself at home mind you I’m only 14

I have natural thick curly hair. I went for a wash and blow. Amazing! I wanted my hair bone straight and that’s exactly what I got. I was afraid my hair was gonna frizz up once I started sweating from the heat and it didn’t. I recommend this salon to everybody. It was also very affordable!

Love the family here at Jacquelines!! Very talented girls that do amazing work! I bring my daughters, my mom , my sister for all their hair care here! And we all have different hair types that only Jacqueline knows what to do with! Professional and everyone is treated with respect, first come first serve! Lifetime customer!

Jacqueline is the only person to ever touch my daughters hair she has been doing her relaxers for years now and is the only person my 13 year old will go to. We get her wash and sets regularly and I must say they are amazing. They are never expensive and always do a wonderful job. We love Miss Jacqueline.

I have been doing to Jacqueline’s for sometime now since I moved to Albany for college. I used to go to another salon but they were not time efficient for me. Jacqueline’s moves fairly quick in a timely manner to attend to all her customers. I am in and out at a sufficient time. She does great work, I do not trust many to cut my hair & I let her for the first time & she fulfilled my expectations. Highly recommend to my peers!

Ive come to this salon a few times and Loved the reults of the wash n set. I usually get my blowout done by jacqueline who seems the most professional and knows what shes doing. Last week I went to get my usual and I was pretty disappointed. I just walked in a little after 10 and it seemed busy but there were 3 hairdressers. As I waited, Jacqueline walked me to a chair and I got washed by her daughter I believe who looked about 10 or 11. Surprisingly she did a good job washing and conditioning my hair, but she couldnt put my hair in rollers well so she ended up jus parting it in sections and pinning it. At first i was a bit thrown off by it, but i didnt mind as long as it dried. After i was done under the dryer I got taken by one of the stylist there i wasnt familiar with. She did fine during the blowout, towards the end i asked her to just lay it all on one side since i have shaved sides. Before she was done I asked if my ends could be trimmed, because I had some damage from dying it. This is where it went down hill...when I asked the stylist to trim my ends she seemed to not understand what I was asking, so Jacqueline had to come over and translate. When the stylist started to cut my hair she didnt part it in the center as I assumed you would to get an even cut, insted she started to cut it in an angle while all my hair was still to one side and to top it off she was very choppy and cut way too much. Now my hair is uneven and choppy looking and almost layered as if I cut it myself! Most likely Im now going to have to cut it in a bob and start groeing my hair back all over again. I like the shop and I think Jacqueline is great, but word of advice for her business is to hire actual professionals and not her family members. Also dont ever ask for a trim, they always cut your hair way too much.
