Ive gone here for years. My son has gotten his haircuts here several times. Not the cheapest out there, (around 20 bucks or more with a nice tip for a cut), but their service is great! Walk-ins are welcome. Quick in and out. Nice people.

My husband, myself and my Great Nephew (8 years old) all went for haircuts together. The guys went first and got the same lady that cut their hair. She did an exceptional job on an 8 year old with ADHD. She looked at a picture showing what he and I wanted done with his hair and she did a fantastic job. My husbands hair was very well done.I ended up with a different hairdresser than I have ever had in there. My hair is fairly simple since I have done the same thing for the last 8 years. Unfortunately this lady didnt do a very good job on a simple cut. My bangs are ridiculously short and the top, back looks like she cut everywhere EXCEPT the crown of my head.4 out of 5 stars is for the great job they did with my nephew.

The check in online made the wait time fly by, however I did not receive a text 15 minutes before check in time like it said, but we arrived right on time and only waited a few minutes.The Hairstylist did a great job very quickly! Thank you!A bit pricey for me, but they did a great job.

Still so angry!! How do you do a layered cut in less than 10 min? My hair is uneven and barely cut and I am mad at myself for even paying the 19 dollars. Now I get to go pay someone else to fix what was done. I will be sure to pass this on to my many many coworkers, friends and family. My son and grandson have been going there for years. I guess if I was a man or boy it would be fine.

Don’t bring small children to sit an have there hair cut. They’ll stare at them till it happens, so did they provide a service? Definitely not. Especially when leaving cause all she would do is stare at my child. Myself an my 1 year older walked into French twist in the mall an got one within minutes no problems. I’d recommend they remove children’s hair cuts as they just stare at them an make the hole thing extremely awkward. An a really bad time for the kid.

I went there today to get my 12 yr old son his haircut for his school pictures tomorrow. He got to sit in Tanna’s seat. We explained what we wanted and how much we wanted off the top. She took too much off the top then my son wanted and then messed up around one of his ears. Instead of charging me child’s price ($17) she charged adults price ($19). I amthe type not to complain about our haircuts but it will affect my tip. Since she overcharged me for a haircut we were not fully satisfied with I left a very small tip. This did not please Tanna. As she walked from the back room to hand me my receipt she looks at her tip and SHOVES the receipt in my hand while saying “Oh, thank you” with an eye roll as she walks away. I will never go back to ANY great clips not just this one simply for the horrendous service that I met with.

The lady that cut my daughters hair shouldn’t be allowed to touch her on hair much less anyone else. She was very rude to my daughter because she walked in after five o’clock. If you don’t want to do someone’s hair at this time then don’t. I think this lady should have her license revoked if nothing else you know who you are, lady let me tell you if your not glad about anything else you need to know you should be happy I’ve not come up there after sending my daughter home in tears cause you hacked her hair

The attentiveness of the barber that cut my hair was disappointing, to say the least. He focused more on the conversations with the people around him than he did on my head. If I wanted more attention, I should’ve asked my 10 year old nephew to cut my hair. He should lose his cosmetology license. If you want a bad haircut, definitely go here.

Check-in on website doesnt work but does on the mobile app. Price for senior cuts increasing. Lots of parking, also for disabled. Easy access to salon for all.

Perfect place for a simple quick cut.

Place is super easy to get right in if you get there at 9am when they open, was in and out in about 12 minutes super easy and convenient.

We went to Great Clips for my 1.5 year old’s second ever hair cut. The first one he did so well with at a different salon, but the cut was less than stellar. Today, however, was a different story. As soon as the stylist got near him, he SCREAMED and cried the ENTIRE time. He wouldn’t even let her put the cape on. But Mel was AMAZING. His crying didn’t even phase her and Cooper’s haircut was soooo much better. She did a WONDERFUL job, and we will definitely be back to see her again. Thank you, Mel, for being so great!

Called in and got hung up on when inquiring about an appointment. If they are too unprofessional to talk on the phone, they are too unprofessional to cut my hair.

I understand that Covid is messing everything up, but to be only open in the weekends is ludicrous. Ive been a Great Clips customer a long time, but that apparently ends today, since this is the only Great Clips in Albany.

It’s rare you get someone who actually listens to what you want. I came in to get a fade and they literally faded my hair into the sides and left it long on the other end.

Checked in online, walked in on time, person walked in behind us who was lower on the check in list and he got his haircut before us, and then people started showing up for theyre appointments up to a half hour late still getting priority before us, we sat here for about 45 minutes before getting our cuts, even though we followed the wait time we were given when originally checking in online. I usually have positive experiences here but today was just awful.

Wonderful! They told my daughter and I a 15 to 20 minute wait. Totally fine. We sit down and within 5 minutes the stylist was calling my daughter up and we were out within another 5! Her bangs looked the best theyve been in a long time. We will be going back for sure!

Made appointment and was brought in within 5 minutes of the time. Staff was friendly and did a good job.

Been coming here for years. The wait can be a little long due to Covid, but the service is the same great service as always

Received by rude woman. She did seem to want to be friendly after a simple question of, was a less busy time today. I got a snappy No! It got worse from there, so I had to walk out. Sad, the Great Clips I go to at home is so much nicer.

We checked in online and were told a 50 minute wait. We arrived on time and had to wait an additional 20 minutes. Ok. My husband was very specific as to how he wanted his hair cut. The result: the exact opposite of what he requested. First and last time well go there. 1 star is the lowest I can give but that is too high.

So I called this evening just before 6 to ask if it was busy and was told it was about an hour wait. I say ok cool, could you put me down for an appointment and I got a very snappy no we cant do that over the phone. I was kind of taken aback so I just responded with oh to which she responded by repeating herself in the same snarky tone. I asked about the check in system and she just said I guess you could use the online check in system if you want. At this point I didnt want to have my hair cut by someone that didnt seem to want to do it. Ill happily pay more to have an enthusiastic and polite hair dresser. Shame, Im a good tipper 🤷‍♀️

Ive almost always had a positive experience here. I especially like checking in online. Cuts down considerably on waiting time. Prices are good and they give a senior discount of $2.00. I dont know if you can ask for a specific person, but the one you get is usually whoever is finished with their client.

I recently got my haircut here without an appointment. I only had to wait 15 minutes. I was very pleased with my haircut. The staff were very polite and friendly. The shop was clean and the price was very fair.

Great clips is expensive. I get a crew cut and beard trim all most 25$! They do have my haircut in there system tho and it isnt so bad. In price if you have a coupon.

The lady that did my kids hair missed a bunch of spots on my daughters and did not do my sons hair like i showed her in the picture. All she dis was buzz it way shorter than the pic. So it just looks like he got his whole head shaved. They did fix my daughters hair but just argued about my sons. Waste of money

Come here a couple times a year so they have my card. 2 on sides 4 on top and keep the front longer so I can style it up. 2nd time they take the front straight up my forehead with the 4 before I can say a word. Disappointing. Made sure and comment to update card and she didn’t apologize or offer a few buck discount even when I told her sitting down exactly what I wanted and commented to leave front long so I can style it.

I brought two of my children here after first stopping at Master Cuts inside the mall, where there was an hour and a half wait, even though all chairs were empty. Great Clips was fully staffed, and all stations were occupied by customers. We were greeted and my children were getting their haircuts within a few minutes. We will be coming here from now on.

I always take our Adult Foster folks there for haircuts. And I go there myself too. They always treat my special needs folks with respect and make their hair look great.

Great Clips was very busy when we arrived, but was in and out very quickly. Every station had a stylist working. They did a good job on my grandsons hair.

So I went in for something new, I wanted to take off some length BUT keep the layers in my hair that I already had. The person who cut my hair was the only man working there. I felt uncomfortable at first but I wanted to give him benefit of the doubt, you know he might do a really good job. Well he was rude, and even at one point, called my hair gross. Are you kidding me? I am a very clean person but it still offended me I mean who does that? Well I ended up with the length I wanted but IT IS SO UNEVEN AND MY LAYERS ARE RUINED!!! He completely botched my beautiful layers and now my hair looks like a 2 year old Went at it with safety scissors! Its so choppy and uneven. I am currently trying to fix it myself at home. Waste of time and money. Never go to this place but if you do ladies, beware and dont let this man touch your hair. Its back to the high end salon for me.

Was waiting for a beard cut. There was 6 people cutting hair. 3 got done and they each slowly swept the floor and took breaks. Not one of them acknowledged me or made any effort to communicate about waiting. They just joked and conversed in the back while my wife got her hair cut. So I got up and left with out complaining and they started to bad mouth me and defend their actions in front of my wife. Sad behavior from a business. Won’t go back there again.

You used to have a pretty decent and friendly stylist at the shop, who I havent seen recently, but todays service left much to be desired. She cut the back ends of my hair and thought she was done even after I told her what I wanted and showed her my work badge for reference. Then it dawned on her that she forgot to cut the top, sides and bangs and the layers I requested. She struggled to hold her scissors or pump the spray bottle like she was ill or had diminished muscle strength and she used a cutting style I had never seen anyone else use before. I never did get the sides cut. Since I was denied the ability to choose to wait for my stylist of choice the last time I was in before this experience, I will not be back.

Hands down the best chain haircut destination in Albany. Id give them a fifth star if they offered beer.

This place gives good quality haircuts but the online check in system is annoying I wish it were a walk in first come first serve because you have people that walk in after you’ve been there for forever and able to go before you like if anything if you check in online you should be the last priority not the first making the service here very poor 👎🏼

Even with one person waiting & 2 stylists, Im repeatedly (more than one occasion) told 45 minute wait. Apparently you have to schedule/check in online? Hard to determine whether to stop by if the wait time doesnt match the number of people in the store. Do they just not really take walk-ins? Previous haircuts were far from good (could visibly see the layers stair stepping down their heads), but semi-functional for young boys, but now that they dont actually take walk-ins, no reason to go.

The last cut was good without the chaos when checking in. I also had a great chat with the person cutting my hair. Thats quite an improvement over the last year.

A older woman there is very rude. Yelling at at a child for lightly tapping his toy on the chair. Then had the nerve to talk about the kid to another customer all while the father was getting his haircut right next to her..

Third time here, second time disappointed. I used their online app to check in for a hair cut. I checked in, then walked into the salon with a 10 minute approx wait time. I ended up waiting over 45 minutes, and their hair stylists called two people in line after me, before me. So what’s the point of checking in if you’re going to skip those people over?The girl who finally cut my hair announced to the waiting room, “is anyone else waiting for a hair cut?”.... are you kidding me? I checked in 45 minutes ago!! Yes I’m waiting!! Her name was Melody and she was super sweet.By the time I got a haircut and came home, showered and saw the final result... the stylist missed THREE huge chunks of hair on my head. When you call to let them know, they non-Chalantly say I can come back in to have my hair re-cut...Sub-par super fast haircuts. If you’re a child or an elderly person with poor eyesight and don’t care about how your hair looks... by all means come here to this barber.... otherwise... avoid these people and DO NOT waste your money.I’m sure I’ll get a prescripted response to this comment by telling me to contact “Jeanne” via email. I like that I can just drop in appointments, its good for many to have a set appointment but for me drop-in is best.

Two days ago I got haircut, First I showed her I think Penni, I show her picture on the book that I want that hair exactly same picture on the book, Unfortunately, She mess up my hair, Its not exactly same that I wanted. My back of hair is shaved, I wasnt happy. Now Im gonna wear bandana for now. I will never come here again. I guess I have to go different place for haircut to fix my hair or I probably going to have my hair cut shorter, Im not going to be really happy.
