This is a great team of motivated and caring individuals. From the housekeeping to dining, active retirement, assisted living or memory care, I am blessed to work here! I have a wonderful leadership team that believes in thier teams and care about our residents. Bonaventure of Albany also boasts the longest serving med aide in the history of Bonaventure!

My aunt lives here and to say she has been neglected would be an understatement. Her medications keep disappearing and she doesn’t get her food despite calling several times. Angel lies every time my family express our concerns and says she is being taken care of and receiving her medications according to records, when we asked to see the records we were told they can’t share them. We intend to move her ASAP to a faculty that is hopefully more competent and transparent than this dump.

If I could give zero stars I would. I worked here for a few weeks and the management is pathetically bad at their jobs. Everyday there was a new crisis that could have been avoided had management done their jobs. Now I’m having issues getting my final check from them and have received the run around from the front office on where my money from the missing 50 hours I worked is. Not to mention how terrible the residents are treated and ignored by management. Whether you’re considering working here or putting a family member here I would advise to go somewhere else because this place is a mess.

I am compelled to leave this review as I recently came in to this location after having many nice and direct conversations with management not to mention a lovely tour of the rooms ( pre Covid19 ) to consider this facility for my mom. But my eyes were opened a bit more as I came in to drop something off and apparently I was not remembered as a potential new customer. So my experience at the front desk and then with that same person in management who had been so kind was quite the opposite when they didn’t know who I was. I felt shocked and disappointed at the way I was treated and that possibly I was really seeing a more realistic viewpoint of how things may go there in real time sadly.Maybe it was just a bad day and obviously things have been stressful but as I observed and listened and spent time to think about it after, I thought no, it was probably a blessing in disguise that I was there by chance as a regular person. It’s a difficult thing to trust someone with a loved one and I wanted so badly to believe I had come across a perfect place for my mom (who fortunately I am in no rush to relocate) but, I don’t feel that good feeling of trust now with the staff. Maybe we will have to stop in again and have lunch, maybe it was just the day? I don’t know. The facility is beautiful and perfectly located for visits from friends and family, it seems so much better for so many reasons than other locations but as I sit with my recent visit/experience my gut feeling is that I would be making a terrible mistake which makes me sad as I felt so completely sure they were going to be the right fit. Take time to investigate and observe any of these kinds of facilities, don’t rush. I have to remind myself that they are a “business”, not home. It will take a lot to change my perspective at this point. Maybe when my mom visits it, she will love it, but I will be on my guard.

This place is terrible. Moving my mom out now. Terrible management, terrible communication, they lie to family members. The list goes on. Do not have your family member live here. Assisted living is the worst I think it gets. Mom not getting food even when she called them 3 times. How can people do this to another human. Angel has lied multiple times. Tons of messages left with no response. Sarah tells us they document every daily interaction with our mom. When asked for the documents she said oh you must of miss heard. So guess what? No document. Please, please dont be fooled by the building. Find another place that cares about your loved ones.

I have a family member who lives in Bonaventure of Albany, older friends who live there as well, and I have volunteered on numerous occasions for various events. Furthermore, my work takes me into this community on a regular basis. I have seen this Senior Living Community in action in a wide variety of contexts and I like what I have seen and experienced. They are a growing community with competent caring staff. Looking forward to my next visit.

When looking for a senior independant living environment for my mother-in-law, we did our due diligence in visiting a number of places in the Lebanon, Corvallis, Albany area. The visit to Bonaventure really sealed the deal for us tho! Yes, the facility is beautiful & well-appointed ... the food good... TONS of activities, many of which are designed to include family & friends of the residents. But what really sealed the deal for us was the staff -- the attention by the staff to my MIL has been wonderful. She feels secure and safe and that her well-being is being looked after by the staff.A special shout-out to Angel, who helped all of us navigate thru this transitional time. During multiple phone and in-person conversations with her, she was continually patient, kind, informative and showed such a heart to find my MIL the perfect apartment right off the bat... which she did!! Angels enthusiasm for the well-being of my MIL extends out to us as well. My MIL has been living at Bonaventure Albany for almost 4 months and is truly happy.. we know Angels door is always open to any questions, suggestions or comments.

Went with friends, taken their kiddies trick or treating. The grandmas and grandpas got all excited over the kids. Not sure who had more fun. Place is just wow when you walk in. Lively atmosphere. Bunch of seniors were having a cocktail party upstairs and I was able to sneak a drink while the kids went down the hallway. Staff was in matching Flintstone outfits, what a hoot.

BEWARE!!! This place is a total scam!! I’m in the process of legal actions toward Albany Bonaventure. We gave them a deposit and first months rent to hold a room which they cashed immediately before even doing an assessment! We told them specifically we can not afford it if she’s higher then a level one. They assured us she sounded no higher then a level one. They called back after 2 weeks and said she was the highest level which is $5000.00 extra a month. I let Them know we can’t afford that. To this day, 2 weeks later I still can’t get my deposit back. BUT WAIT! It gets worse!! We started getting bills for her meds and she didn’t even move in!!! If that doesn’t sound like a scam I don’t know what does! PLEASE listen to all these bad/negative reviews, they are true. Shame on you!!!! SCAM!!! What they are doing is not only illegal it is a disgrace!!!! Unfortunately my attorney has to handle this which is more costly. I just want people to be aware. I’m tired of calling everyday and getting the runaround!!!! I’m going to every social media to make people aware!!! And one more thing, Brookdale assessed her at a level one which is the lowest cost level!!! GO TO BROOKDALE UP THE STREET, so much better!!!

I called this community to get some information for my Aunt who is moving to Albany to be close to family. I called 3 or 4 places and they were all very helpful, but when I called this community, I truly felt like they cared about what my Aunt needed. Not only was I able to ask the questions I had and given the answers, but they took the time to ask me questions about what my Aunt might want. Once she gets here, I plan on taking her to visit the communities I have called so she can see what they all look like and make a choice.

A really nice looking place, but very poor in ensuring there is enough staffing to actually provide adequate services. They run out of items frequently, basic items like ketchup and ice cream. Meals can take up to 45 minutes or longer. Much is promised but poor in actual delivery. The floor staff do their best but they need more teammembers to do the job safely and timely.

This is a sad excuse for a retirement center please take this advise do not come here or bring your mom/dad here. This is a greedy shady company looking to steal your hard earned money Trista and Chloe are a horrible management staff running this facility. They are allowed to do whatever they want because their family is upper management if you want to be taken advantage of this where you would do that.

I worked here as Assisted Living Director for 3 weeks and walked out. The things I witnessed as a insider were unspeakable.... Neglect, massive medication errors, narcotics tampered with, residents going without meals, severe lack of communication between management and residents/their family members, wounds not addressed in appropriate manner, Executive Director lying to family members and the list goes on. I felt guilt walking away knowing the hands these poor residents were left in but my heart just could not handle it. I strongly advise people to stay clear of this community. In response to the comment left by the company.... These issues had been addressed multiple times with regional team, as well as other staff and family members addressed concerns. As for my training as Assisted Living Director I did not get much as I was thrown in the mix on my first day. I was told I was going to be trained at home office but that never happened. The lack of training with staff was what had happened prior to my employment. I work 36 hours straight to work side by side and train, along with doing my job and being sent to Salem. Labor laws do apply! As a mandatory reporter it also was my job to report the neglect of the residents. I will continue to advocate, I will continue to be a human with morals and respect for the elderly instead of just viewing them as a money figure.

Unlike many of the previous 5 star reviews, this is not submitted by an employee of Bonaventure. My family member lived in the assisted living portion for one year. During that time, we experienced many issues. The turnover of employees is staggering. The training of the med aids seemed lacking. The meals were lacking in quality of nutritious menus, preparation and presentation was mostly dismal. Often times the advertised meal choices were not available. The actual management of the dining room and kitchen left residents often waiting for a meal. Communication with management, both at the local level and corporate level was terrible. Their way of dealing with concerns was to ignore; not answer phone calls or return emails. Corporate management was full of empty promises. To sum this up…RUN, RUN, RUN the other way. Do not let the nice building and furnishings fool you.UPDATE 8-5-18 It appears that this company has now removed all reviews from their Facebook sites. That in itself, speaks volumes!UPDATE 2-2-19 It appears that this company is once again recruiting reviews as several recent reviewers have posted multiple reviews on multiple company sites. I suggest you seriously look at this facility.

I was a med aide and caregiver for bonaventure for about a year and a half. This place is the worse place I’ve worked at management works you to the ground as well as not caring about the care the residents are actually receiving. This place is so overly priced for things residents don’t even get. Bonaventure did have their good moments and the residents were absolutely amazing but it’s sad how poorly treated staff are along with people being hired who really shouldn’t be in the health care field. I 100% would not recommend this facility until they fix the issues they have.

This location is beautiful and spacious but the work staff seems to be young and untrained! The turn over for staff is very high. The dining has quality issues with food and the wait can be long. I spend weekends with my grandma and have noticed meds not being administered and house keeping going weeks without being done! Staff has admitted to no housekeeping being hired yet they still charge $700 a month! The management has ignored our family’s complaints. No resolutions! Unfortunately this chain of senior living facilities are taking advantage of the weak and old! Bonaventure makes huge profit and cares nothing about our seniors! Don’t make the mistake of letting your love ones live in one of these facilities!!!

Working at the Bonaventure of Albany was the worst job experience Ive ever had. Theyre wonderful features for the residents here no doubt, a good hair dresser in this facility, a movie theater and and a workout fitness room that are all useful and fun. Yet, the food here was the absolute worst and that is coming from someone who used to be a former server. They constantly run out of food and have a high turn over rate due to poor management. This facility has hired employees who have overdosed multiple residents with narcotics. In memory care, a former caregiver used to shoot up heroine in the bathrooms and be high on the job. They favorite certain employees and allow them to work at this facility while failing countless UAs--the same reason for termination of many others. The Dining Room Service Manger has been known to pee for other employees during random UAs. Bonaventure of Albany shows serious signs of nepotism and is a corrupted work environment. They lack basic core values and genuinely makes me feel sad for the residents who still remain. I would not recommend sending your loved ones to this facility.

Too high priced for what you..dont...get. Meals are skimpy, and take way too long to get to you (we have sat many times for nearly an hour for dinner) If you dont sit near the kitchen, they pretty much forget about you or ignore you. Food appears to be mostly premade or canned. Apparently, housekeeping gets around 1/2 hour at most to clean an apartment? And then, the only thing I see cleaned (in my folks apartment) might be floors slightly vacuumed and shower/toilet cleaned? Absolutely no dusting or any other cleaning that I see. (I clean homes myself, so I can tell that very little effort or time is spent). This place also a accepts small dogs, but does not provide any place to take dogs to toilet or play that is safe for both dog and owner. Being this building sits along an extremely busy highway, one would think, at least, a short fence would separate the building, parking and highway. But there is none. Personally, it scares me, knowing someones small dog could very easily escape the hands of a resident and run into the highway with their owner taking chase! To me, the safety of the residents does NOT come before the curb appeal from the this highway. After discussing this with my own mother, who has a dog, she WOULD run after pup into that street. There is no encouragement from this place for their residents to enjoy the outdoors during any nice day, at their own leisure. The back patio off dining hall has no seating for enjoying meals unless there is an event. A resident user friendly BBQ would also be nice since no BBQs are allowed at apartments. An area to putt a golf ball, play horse shoes or something...ANYTHING...would be really nice to offer the residents since many do not get out. How about a small garden area?? These folks come to live here to retire...give them a HOME they can enjoy. Not an apartment to waste away in.Being from Central Oregon myself, we have looked at places here and all of the Independent and even Assisted places have these extras.

I have spent endless hours at Bonaventure of Albany because my mother has been a resident. There are some wonderful aspects of this senior living community. A wonderful hairdresser on site, good front desk coverage during daytime, and a pleasing visual environment, a nice recreation calendar and occasional outings for residents. There are problems, particularly with the meals. Dinner is the absolute worst - not sure where to find seniors who want chili dogs, clam strips, sloppy joes, and other pre-fried foods that are simply warmed for dinner. They have fired and hired multiple chefs but still the dinner meal, in particular is really terrible. They pay the lowest possible wages and have a hard time keeping staff of any kind - so housekeepers, waiters, assistants are all there for short stays because they are always on the hunt for a job that pays a living wage.

This is one of the worst communities I have ever encountered. My bfs grandma stays at this community in AL and the care she receives there is horrid.1. She was sent to the hospital due to a wound on her leg, the size of a golf ball, that festered until it got infected and needed surgery, all without the nurse notifying her family or even her PCP.2. Her morning medications were left on her table, which family found later and took a pic of. When the medaide was asked about it, she lied and stated that she personally gave and saw his grandma take her meds, when obviously that was impossible. Then to top it off, after the RSC was told, she claimed that the medaide was demoted for lying, when that very night we saw her distributing medication.3. His grandma had a change in her mental behavior, but they did not notify family because they said it was something the didnt, have to, notify family of, and yes the RSC did the hand quotes herself.4. When staff was asked if his grandma came down for dinner, family was told that they saw her in the dining area eating dinner, but when family went to her room, they found that she had been delivered a tray for dinner.5. When staff was asked the whereabouts of his grandmas sheets, they stated that they were in the dryer and almost finished, when in reality staff hadnt even put them in the wash yet.And the list goes on...Having worked in this type of industry in the past, it is absolutely disgusting to see such neglect from staff towards individuals who are dependant on their care, and even more dispicable, is the lying from the community who has been working so hard to cover it all up. If you care for your loved one, you would not place them at Bonaventure of Albany.I would also like to add that the owner says the issues will be addressed, but that is just another false promise by this community. Bonaventure of Albany, simply put, is a complete and utter disaster.
