Dr. Kays is amazing. Everything from consult to pre op, and post op he made me feel comfortable. His team was prompt in answering my questions. Dr. Kays explained what I could expect from my surgery and listened to what I was trying to achieve. I let him make the final decision in the surgery room and I could t be more pleased. My results are everything I could have hoped for. I would recommend him to family and friends.

Wilmington plastic surgery completely blew me away. I have such a fear of doctor settings and surgery but I knew this was the right decision. From start to finish everyone was so kind and put my mind at ease, went out of their way to make me so comfortable. The day of surgery in the surgery center I was panicking and they could see it and Dr Kay’s was so sweet and even gave me a hug. The anesthesiologist talked to me and made me feel so safe in his hands and after talking to those two I calmed down a lot. When it was time to go back to the surgery room I was terrified and told them I was so afraid and the nurse held my hand she was so sweet and gentle, they put me to sleep very easy and woke me up later and everything was so much better then I expected! The results are better then I could have ever imagined, and it’s only day 1! If I ever have surgery in the future after I move out of state I will fly back to see Dr Kay’s and his amazing team!

He did an excellent job on my reconstruction, but more importantly, he was kind, considerate and explained everything that was going to be done. I did not have a very successful experience with Dr. Kays. He managed to botch a simple prophylactic mastectomy leaving me with uncomfortable, lopsided, misshaped breasts. He reprimanded me when I screamed out in pain during an expander fill only to find out later that there was an infection. I find that his skill set is limited to his comfort level and that he is not up to date on options for mastectomy patients....or at least, he didnt discuss any options with me. He was all about silicone implants and nothing else. When I went to him to try and have his prior work fixed, he made one sad attempt and then told me that he would not operate on me again. I have since then consulted with other plastic surgeons who, in a professional manner, agreed that my reconstruction was botched and their suggestions for repair were more detailed then the procedure that Dr. Kays performed on me to try and fix the job he did. I also was not made aware of the possibility of implant rupture, FDA suggestions on getting implants MRIed after 3 years to check for ruptures, the longevity of implants, or of possible symptoms of breast implant illness. As you can see, this was not a positive experience for me.

I went to Dr Kays with hope to get breast augmentation done. I had implants before and I got them while I was young. I then took interest in weight lifting and with my chest muscles building it pushed my implants down. I wanted to exchange them and see about a lift. Dr. Kays let me know all my options and let me know how I can save money as well. I had other concerns about my lower abdominal skin. I had gained and lost a lot of weight with my second child and had excess skin. I was t sure if I needed a tummy tuck or how I could fix it. I learned I only needed skin removal and Dr. Kays and his staff walked me through that process and made me extremely comfortable with my options.Following surgery which went very well, both nurses were very great with me. Answered all my questions, called me back when I needed, and at follow up appointments handled my incisions very gently and made sure I was comfortantble during exams. I would and actually have recommended Dr. Kays and his staff at Wilmington Plastic Surgery! I love my results so much. It has given me such a better confidence in my self and I feel like a brand new person.

I was so nervous about getting the process of my tummy tuck underway. I have been needing this surgery for a good decade after being very sick with my first child and my skin stretching beyond repair. My belly skin had to constantly be tucked into my pants and undies, making my daily life very hard, because I am very active. Having 2 boys--we play ALOT (soccer, wakeboarding, beach, tag...you name it!). My skin did not allow me to enjoy life, like I had....plus I couldnt stand looking in the mirror-really does a number on your self-esteem. When I initially saw Dr. Kays, he instantly told me what he thought would be best to do. Treating me like a daughter and really interested in my happiness with the procedure. The day I saw him, we scheduled the surgery! The ENTIRE process I was treated like family. When we came in for the day of surgery all of the professionals that were going to be assisting came in and introduced themselves. Explaining exactly what to expect. After the surgery I was still part of the family. Here is the great part, THEY OWN THEIR WORK, Dr. Kays has an amazing staff that clearly gives their opinion (Kristen was amazing!) and really want the results to be the best that could be achieved. That isnt something you have to ask them for, ITS WHAT THEY WANT! I had a HUGE bulge on my lower abs...now I am flat, flat, flat! Wash board flat----I didnt even know to expect that! They really care about their patients, like I have never experienced before. Let me tell you---going into an elective surgery---I would never ever pick a different doctor or staff to help me. I knew the surgery would be life changing----but I never knew how much I would fall in love with my doctor and his staff. 100% would recommend them, you will not be sorry. BEST DOCTOR EVER!!
