Dr. Charkoudian and staff have treated my eye condition for over nine years, every 4-6 weeks. In short, he continues to enable me to keep my vision. He has entertained my questions, always with patience and a caring attitude. During this time, I have seen progress with comfort in treatment as new medical advances occurred, watched the practice grow and grow, then very carefully select the new doctor to relieve the extensive demand on staff and wait time. Further, there are eye emergencies that must be worked in to the schedule from time to time. I appreciate their willingness to serve others in that way.I think it best summarizes my experience to say that I look forward to my office visit, to interacting with the wonderful staff there, and completely trust Dr. C’s input on making decisions to help me keep my vision. He has always treated me as a collaborator toward my eye care, and I appreciate him and all if the staff at CFRA. If they were graded, I would give them an A+. Just excellent in every way!

I have had the privilege of being seen by all 3 Dr. in the past year. They are all thorough, and took the time to explain and/or treat my issues. The supporting staff has always been very friendly. This is not a short quick, in-out, appointment. If you want the best eye Dr. care, relax, CFR is your place.My wife has been seeing Dr. Brownlow for several years, and has never had anything but great results.

Had second appointment with Dr, Charkoudian today to evaluate macular pucker. Dr. C. was thorough, professional, and detailed in his explanation. I never felt rushed as he answered all my questions. On top of that, he’s a really nice man! I highly recommend him.

I had an appointment scheduled for June 25th at 8:30 a.m. I drove 40 minutes to get to their office and was informed that the doctor was not in the office. The ladies at the front desk informed me that their records indicated that someone left me a message on June 7, indicating the appointment had been cancelled. I informed them that my cell phone worked quite well and that I had NO messages from their office. I also asked if they had confirmed the cancellation via text or email and they said they don’t do that. I inquired if someone else in the office could see me and was told another doctor had agreed to squeeze me in but that his schedule was full and I’d have to wait (I counted 6 patients in the waiting room). I scheduled another appointment; however, upon reflection I decided to seek treatment at another profession. I had the courtesy to call them and let them know of my decision. I should have just failed to show up at the appointment just to see how they would like someone wasting their precious time but I took the high road.

While on vacation in Holden Beach this month, I developed a detached retina. I went to Dr. Saunders in Shallotte who immediately contacted Cape Fear Retina in Wilmington and explained my condition. They agreed to see me the next day. After I arrived I met with Dr. Charkoudian who checked my eye and suggested surgery ASAP. He explained everything to me and I had no doubt that he was the answer to prayer. Early the following morning he performed the scleral buckle surgery at New Hanover Medial and now I am on the way to recovery!! A million thanks cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Charkoudian and his team. They are A+ all the way!! THANK YOU!!!!

Very friendly staff, beautifully decorated waiting area, Dr.Bray was awesome, did injections into my eyes, never felt a thing.

My sister has been trying to reschedule a surgery appointment for days no one answers the phone at that extension and no one ever calls you back then to top it all off I was told they did call me back that cant be true my phone works fine and I had it with me the whole time between me and my sister we tried to call over 30 times Im very disappointed

Treated my 22 year old daughter very well. Dr. Charkoudian was very patient and caring with her. She was super nervous, but the techs and nurses and doctors were great. They took their time explaining things and also called to check on her after she was seen to see how she was doing. I highly recommend this practice and doctors. They are awesome!!!!

You will, I repeat will wait up to an hour after your scheduled appointment to even see the doctor. You will then wait up to another hour in a room waiting for your doctor then finally you will see the doctor for no more than twenty minutes and then be rushed out to pay. Good luck.. Bring a pillow.

I was visiting my sister in Wilmington NC. I had had an issue with my left eye and had been seen by my eye doctor regarding light flashes and a little increase in floaters. After examination he informed me that my vitreous gel was separating in that eye. The only advice was an emphasis on the fact that if I had an increase in anything to contact him. While visiting my sister, I did notice many new floaters which caused concern. At the advice of my eye doctor , I sought out a retinal specialist and found Dr. Leon Chardonian at Cape Fear Retina Associares. When I called the young woman was very kind and said they would need my records and then they would determine how to proceed which I promptly had faxed. I received a call back and was told to come in the very next day and be seen. I did. They were fabulous! Dr. Chardonian was kind gentle and thorough and the same went for his staff. I highly recommend this very professional and caring office!!!

The Staff and Dr. Charkoudian are top of their game in patient care, concern for well-being, and treatment of eye health issues, engendering trust that all will be well with you when under their care as I experienced having had retinal reattachment (with buckle) surgery on one eye and retinal laser tacking on the other.

Wonderful staff, excellent physicianI had the privilege of meeting Dr Brownlow about 10 months ago. I suffered a detached retina in my left eye.After my examination he set up a date to schedule my eye surgery.Having been through this surgery on my right eye (out of state, different physician) I knew what to expect.After arriving at the facility, I was taken to the prep room. The nurse asked multiple health questions The ananthesologist met with me and made me feel at ease.The procedure is about 30-45 minutes in duration.You wake up in intensive care with a nurse monitoring your vitalsYou are sent home with 3 types of eye drops.There are instructions to follow carefully.Be aware you might have a medical grade gas bubble in your eye that is absorbed over a few weeks.You are asked to sleep on your stomach so that the gas bubble can press against your retina.I hope this explanation will aleve any trepidation you may have regarding the procedure.Dr Brownlow and his staff are professional and compassionate.Both of my retina surgeries had great outcomes.The incredible skill of Dr Brownlow cannot be over stated. Put your trust and eye care in Dr Brownlows extremely capable hands.
